The Alethonym grenade launcher is acquired through the Season Pass for either the free or paid track. If you purchase the Season Pass, you’ll receive the Alethonym instantly. Otherwise, free players must first reach rank 40 to acquire the weapon. If you want to get the weapon as fast as possible, the quickest way to level up will be through completing Episode Revenant seasonal challenges. These are found on the Season Pass page, under the reward track.

If you’re out of seasonal challenges, the next best option will be through bounties. You can get seas🌱onal bounties from Eido in the Last City (if you own the season pass) or through numerous vendors in the Tower. Completing these bounties will send your XP for the se🐠ason through the roof.

Is the Alethonym worth using?

The Alethonym is the only primary ammo grenade launcher in the game and comes with the intrinsic trait Harvester Spike. This causes the weapon to fire Harvester Spike projectiles, which are grenade launcher shots that travel in a straight line. Final blows with the weapon also create Vestiges at the target’s death location.

Vestiges build toward a bar called Vestigial Alchemy in the bottom left of your screen. Depending on the amount of Vestigial Alchemy you have, you can cycle the weapon’s firing mode using the reload button to spawn either a Special or Heavy ammo brick. This makes the weapon solid for solo content, and excellent for multiplayer content as you can keep your teammates topped up on ammo. If you’re making a support build, this is the exotic to go.
