With every patch, new obtainable items are added to Final Fantasy XIV, and patch 7.1 is certainly no exception. Among the 🥂newly added items is an emote that’s readily available to every player, but you might not expect it to come from where it does.
For anyone who has been playing FFXIV for a few years, there’s a commonly shared belief that . Okay, so mayb⛄e “useless” is the wrong word, he’s actuall🦋y very useful in the beginning because he has a lot of items that can be purchased in exchange for Achievement Certificates.
However, those items are quickly all in your collection and then you rarely ha♊ve any reason to visit Jonathas again, because his stock is hardly ever updated. It’s been a long time since he had anythin𝔉g new (that wasn’t a Framer’s Kit for a fishing achievement), but it seems that 7.1 has thrown Jonathas a bone and given players a reason to seek him out.
How to get the Flowerbed Maintenance emote in Final Fantasy XIV
While it might not seem like the most useful emote going, the Flowerbed Maintenance emote is perpetual, meaning that it doesn’t end until you move. Like the Sweep emote, it can be used to sprinkle players who are playing dead in busy areas, and the two actually go together remarkably well to make it look like you’re cleaning up the riff-raff. Or, you know, you could just use it to take cute Group Pose shots of you watering the flo𓃲wers.
Howಞever you intend to use it, it’s always beneficial to have more emotes in your arsenal, and you can get the Flowerbed Maintenance emote from Jonathas in Old Gridania (X:10.6, Y:6.2).
The emote will cost you two Achievement Certificates, which are earned by exchanging Achievement Points. It’s all a bit confusing, but I can promise you that if you’ve been playing for even a few weeks, you’ve likely got enough stocked up to🃏 get the emote and likely have some spar🤪e to get some other items.
Once you’ve got the emote, 🥂you’ll need to use it from your inventory in the usual fashion, and then you can use it in one of two ways. Your first choice is to open up the Social Menu, click on Emotes, and then find the “Water” emote under the “Special” tab. You can also drag the emote from the emote list and place it on your h🍷otbar, if you think you’re going to use it often.
𝔉Alternatively, if you’re 🃏not up for clicking through multiple menus and searching for it, you can type “/water” in the chat box then press enter, causing your character to whip out their watering can to hydrate the ground in front of them.
