Call of Duty Warzone relaunched the Resurgence map Fortune’s Keep for season two. For the first time, the game mode now features ranked play, and Fortune’s Keep is much different than when we last got our hands on it. One massive change is a new Easter egg, which allows players to wield one of two Wonder Weapons, one of which is the Ray Gun.
How to complete the Fortune’s Keep Ray Gun Easter egg
Obtaining the Ray Gun on Fortune’s Keep is fairly simple. If you’re able to be the lone person (or team) attempting to find it, you shouldn’t have any trouble. However, as the Easter egg grows in popularity, especially since it just released, you can probably expect some heavy traffic around its location.
- Head to the Ground Zero point of interest on Fortune’s Keep.
- Go to the bottom of the crater and enter the white doors, which take you into an underground lab
- Make a left, then head up the stairs.
- In the main room, you’ll have to squeeze through a tight gap in the wall that says “SEC B.”
- Next, you’ll see a room filled with water. Don’t try to swim or you’ll get electrocuted.
- Use crates and platforms to jump your way across, then activate three switches on the wall.
- When all lights are green, the water is safe and you can swim.
- Swim through the underwater tunnel toward where you entered.
- You’ll find a room filled with loot and cash, which includes the Ray Gun sitting on the table.
Is the Fortune’s Keep Ray Gun good?
As you might expect, the Ray Gun is pretty overpowered in Warzone. The first shot will break an opponent’s armor (if they have all three plates), and the second will down them.
Of course, one option is to use it immediately to get some kills and prevent others from using it against you. Another option is saving it for endgame because it has limited ammo and no way to refill it. If you lose the Ray Gun or use all the ammo, you’ll have to drop in and complete the Easter egg all over again.
Why is the Ray Gun in Warzone?
For seasoned Call of Duty players, especially those in the zombies community, the Ray Gun is a classic weapon everyone wants. It first appeared in the 2008 title World at War as an Easter egg in the single-player campaign. Additionally, it was available as a mystery box item in World at War zombies maps like Nacꩵht der U🐷ntoten and Verruckt, .
Since then, it’s appeared in 10 Call of Duty titles if you include COD Mobile and COD Online. One of those titles is the Zombies mode for the most recent release, Modern Warfare 3 (2023).
