Fairly early into Hogwarts Legacy, the player character will gain access to a semi-secret area called the “Undercroft.” This is the main base of operations for quests dealing with your classmate Sebastian, and you probably want to know how to get back there quickly. Here’s how to do that!

Undercroft location in Hogwarts Legacy
The Undercroft is disguised as a clock near the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. To get there, select the Defense Against the Dark Arts Classroom Floo Flame fast travel location before turning right and heading down the stairs. You’ll then make another right down, heading down a hall that looks like a dead end, before activating an ornate clock. Enter the clock by interacting with it, and you’ll be in the Undercroft.

You’ll unlock the area during the In the Shadow of the Undercroft quest. Once that’s done, you can return to it, which you’ll need to do several times throughout Sebastian’s side story and the main questline. It won’t appear with any map markers or Floo Flames even after first discovering it, so be sure to remember its location.

You don’t need to speak a password or do anything special when interacting with the clock. It also doesn’t require casting any spells. You’re free to walk up to it and enter as long as you’ve progressed through or completed In the Shadow of the Undercroft.
Beyond some conversations with Sebastian and a few main storyline tidbits, you won’t find much in the Undercroft. There are no branching hallways, and you’ll mainly find a few treasure chests with money and gear inside. It does hold a few secrets, but they directly connect to Hogwarts Legacy’s main story and its quests.
