Health does not recover automatically in Towers of Aghasba, so you want to avoid ꦏtaking as much damage as you can. Taking damage from harvesting berries is something that is avoidable with the und🌠erstanding of why it happens in the first place.
How to Avoid Damage from Harvesting in Towers of Aghasba
In most cases, damage from harvesting comes from picking specific types of berries throughout the game, but this is not always the case. There is actually another ‘hidden’ mechanic that may cause you to take damage during this process, though I’m not certain exactly how it functions when it comes to the numbers.
What seems to be the cause of this damage is harvesting certain plants while your Amity is low. This results in you taking small amounts of damage when picking up specific resources. In a way, this encourages a focus on Life-giving actions, one of the most important aspects of Towers of Aghasba. Life-giving actions reward you with Amity, so the method to avoid damage from this mechanic is to always have excess Amity. Early on, this will be difficult due to limited resources, but you’ll find yourself swimming in Amity down the line.
The other source of damage from harvest is picking dangerous berries. This is also not a certainty, but it seems that picking berries with thorns or any sort of deadly physical characteristic can result in you taking some damage, which honestly makes sense. The counter is to simply have food on you at all times so you can heal any excess damage you take. Both sources of harvesting damage are not certain, but I will k☂eep investigating the matter a𒁃nd update you on my findings.
Alternative Food Sources in Towers of Aghasba
If you’re early in the game, picking berries might be too tasking due to the damage you may take. A good source of alternative food would be Root, which is found often growing in a Temperate Ecosystem. Fortunately, the very first Ecosystem you create is a Temperate one, so consistent visits to it for harvesting Roots 🔴are advised.
Another strong early game food source is Lettuce, as it is the very first plant you’ll be able to grow on your farm. Lettuce requires minimal resources and time to grow, making it a consistent source of food that heals a lot of your missing health. Lettuce is grown on a Farm, which you’ll be prompted to build as you progress through the main story quest line.
