It should come as absolutely no surprise that Remnant 2: The Dark Horizon is chock-full of secrets both big and small. Some of them are quite easy to fi♑gure out, while others, such as the locked secret doors in the Mucid Terrarium dungeon, may give you something to think about.
Now, specifically, the Mucid Terrarium isn’t necessarily unique in and of itself. It’s a classic N’Erud dungeon with its ups and downs, choke-points and boss fights. It’s good, of course, but it wouldn’t have necessarily stand out had it not been for an oddly grandiose room with three locked doors I found in it. Due to Remnant 2‘s often overzealous procedural generation algorithm, it’s possible that this room may be found in other N’Erud dungeons, too. Still, it’s hard to miss it. Down below, I’ll explain how to get all of its loot and then some.
Remnant 2: The Dark Horizon – Mucid Terrarium secret doors explained
As you push through hordes of undead Dryzyr, their bots, and vicious parasites found in the Mucid Terrarium, you’ll eventually come across a large decrepit room with three locked-down blast doors. They’re easily identifiable by their harsh red glow from afar, so it won’t take long before you figure out that something is up.
The trick to these doors is in the massive conduits that are strewn throughout the room. Specifically, you’re looking for a white-glowing open line, as illustrated above, as you can use it to send an electrical impulse to open a specific blast door. Note that you cannot interact with the conduit, and you cannot shoot it, either. It needs to be struck with a melee attack, instead.
This is all well and good for the first door, where the conduit is lying on the ground, but the very next conduit is going to be hanging from the ceiling with no obvious way of reaching it. To that end, I highly recommend taking a throwable melee weapon with you to actuate these doors. There may be some detective work involved in finding where, exactly, every conduit is, but you can only reach one at a time, so it won’t take long before you’ve got all the blast doors opened.
What do you get from the Mucid Terrarium’s secret chambers?
Naturally, every new blast door you open is a Catch-22, in that while it gives you a nice bit of loot, it also spawns a wave of enemies behind you. So, prepare accordingly. As for the loot, you get a nﷺeat chest filled with resources, but also two unique new passive items:
- Short Circuit Amulet
- Combat Shield Generator Ring
These will prove particularly handy if you’re a Warden, as they’ll help you diversify your shield-based loadout. Otherwise, they’re sure to come in handy, and it’s always better to have more options than not. So, grab ’em before you go on deeper into the Mucid Terrarium.
