While all players begin on the Antiquity Age (by default), you’ll come across the Exploration Age, followed by the Modern Age. Just like in the Antiquity Age, there are different civilizations available in the two latter ages. But to play them, you’ll first have to fulfill certain unlock requirements.

The Exploration Age is the first after Antiquity, and you’ll be able to choose how you want to proceed with your save. Your selection will depend on your actions during the first age, and you can only choose civilizations that you’ve unlocked.
