Be on the lookout.

All aboard to Tuliyollal, the very first city in the Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail expansion. Just as the Warrior of Light and their comrades land on sunny shores, there’s a treasure trove of sights and sounds to take in. Those don’t go unnoticed, either, as FFXIV continues its usual Sightseeing Log tradition.

Before beginning the Sightseeing Log quest in FFXIV in Version 7.0, you must begin the Dawntrail MSQ. The Sightseeing Log becomes available after completing five quests, so once you’ve finished ‘The Rite of Succession’ and chosen which path to take through Tural.

Where to unlock the FFXIV Sightseeing Log

To unlock the FFXIV Sightseeing Log in Dawntrail, go to Tuliyollal (X: 13.9, Y:10.1) and speak to Elsebee Ironheart. She’s familiar with the Warrior of Light and happy to hear you know her cousin, Emeline. The updated side activity should become available immediately.

That’s all you need to do to unlock the updated sightseeing points. Without unlocking the log, you won’t be able to see the actual vistas scattered about Tural, so don’t forget! It’s an easy way to get a little extra experience and work on the task while adventuring.

How to use the Sightseeing command (emote) in FFXIV

Once you’ve found a Sightseeing Log vista, it’s time to interact with it using the usual FFXIV emote, /lookout.

It’s that easy to do: Simply find the glowing, blueish vista and type “/lookout” in your chatbox. Some vistas require different emotes, but the majority are the lookout command. Play around with a few and use context clues if that one isn’t working. Also, make sure you’re lined up and standing on the point; those locations can be a bit finicky.
