How to use the Zenless Zone Zero photo mode

It's simple but gets the job done (mostly).

The Zenless Zone Zero photo mode is sadly basic, but you can still take pictures of your favorite characters in the game (if they’re around your hub area). Here’s exactly when you’ll unlock this feature and how to use it.

When is the Zenless Zone Zero photo mode unlocked?

The Zenless Zone Zero photo mode is unlocked after completing a few missions in the game. You’ll be outside in the main hub town your protagonist is from. Your brother (or sister) finds a cat, and you take a picture of it with your phone. It’s a part of the main storyline, so you won’t miss it. After this, you’ll be able to take pictures in Zenless Zone Zero.

However, don’t get too excited. Zenless Zone Zero lacks filters and doesn’t even let you take a selfie. You can only capture things in front of your character, and the worst part is that the photo mode is only limited to the hub town, not during missions. You’ll see your favorite characters like Anby, Nekomata, and Billy Kid on rare occasions 🦩in the city, so take a picture with them when you can.

How to enable the photo mode

To activate the Zenless Zone Zero photo mode on a controller, hold the left shoulder button and then use the right analog stick to move a cursor around a wheel. Pick the symbol that has a lens on it on the left. After that, your protagonist gets out their camera and readies their shot. You can hide the UI by pressing the Triangle (Y) button. Additionally, there’s a zoom in and zoom out function by holding the left and right trigger buttons. You can reset the shot by pressing the right analog stick.

Once you’re happy with your shot, press the Cross (A) button. You can now share it with your friends on social media. On the PS5, it saves to your Media Gallery. On PC, you’ll need to find the root folder where you installed Zenless Zone Zero and look for the Screenshots folder there-in.

From here, you can take a glance at your pictures. Unfortunately, they’re in an odd format: 417×266. MiHoYo also added its own format that places an annoying logo and frame around the picture. It might be best to screenshot the image after clearing away the UI with Prt Sc or simply pressing the Share button on PS5.
