With Fire Emblem: Awakening released on 3DS and seeing quite the success, many may be wondering what that could mean for developer Intelligent Systems’ other franchise, Advance Wars.

When of a new entry in the Advance Wars series, Masahiro Higuchi, project manager for Fire Emblem: Awakening said: “Well, whether it’s Fire Emblem or Advance Wars, we never want to put an end to any series we’re involved with. We always want to make games that provide a lot of fun to gamers, so if we have the chance, we’d certainly like to make another [Advance Wars] title.”

Higuchi also noted in the interview that there are currently no plans for more Fire Emblem: Awakening downloadable content, which one could vi🐻ew as the team now having time to work on other projects.

Advance Wars” has not been so much as murmured officially since the series’ last release in 2008 with Days of Ruin, which was met with polarizing reception. the franchise embarking into darker and more “realistic” territory, while fans missed the more color-coated releases from years past.

Nonetheless, Advance Wars, and with E3 approaching, fans won’t have to wait long to see what Intelligent Systems’ next move is.
