Sadly, you cannot play Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora on the Xbox One. Nor can you play the game on the PlayStation 4, or the Nintendo Switch. It’s only available for the beefiest of modern-day platforms. The list includes the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC (so long as you can match the minimum requirements). It’s not on Xbox Game Pass🥀 either, so banish any thoughts you have of playing it via the cl♕oud.

Will Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora ever make it to Xbox One?

While I can’t say it’s impossible, the likelihood of Avatar going to Microsoft’s last-gen machine is close to zero. Avatar: FoP uses the latest version of Ubisoft’s proprietary Snowdrop engine. The engine has powered games like The Division 2, which was also quite the looker. But Avatar: FoP is something I’d say is far beyond that of simply being pretty.

The game is lush with visual splendor, making it quite demanding even on today’s platforms. Many, including our own Steven Mills, have spoken in length of how gorgeous the game can be.

“To say the world is beautiful would be an understatement,” he wrote in his review. “If you remember the surreal feeling of the forest lightning up at night when seeing Avatar for the first time, be prepared to relive it.”

Of course, you don’t have to take our word for it. The developer explained in the past that the game was planned only for powerful, modern-day platforms. In a , Ubisoft Massive technical director of programming Nikolay Stefanov about the need to focus on newer machines for the game.

“In terms of a new generation of consoles, the improved [hardware] just gives us so much opportunity to make sure that the game’s as immersive as possible,” Stefanov explained.
