Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 left off with a number of cliffhangers, bringing about many unanswered questions within its lore. Whether it be the fate of everyone’s beloved Satoru Gojo or the devilish Yuji Itadori, it seems as if no sorcerer is safe, and the next phase will likely prove more troublesome.
Fortunately, the manga gives us some insight into the sorcerers’ future, including the return of iconic characters and potential arcs. Here’s the lowdown on the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 release window a𒅌nd all of its features.
Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 potential release date
Although Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 has yet to be officially released, it may debut sometime in 2025. This timeframe is based on the series’ past release schedules, but it could still arrive this year. We do at least know that Season 3 is in the works due to an announcement from Toho Animation.
The second season’s ending also left off with a ‘To be continued’ teaser and a surprise character reveal. With this in mind, Season 3 could debut sooner rather than later.
What characters are returning in Jujutsu Kaisen season 3?
Based on Toho Animation’s snippet, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 showcases the return of Geto Suguru, Choso, Yuta Okkotsu, Megumi Fushiguro, and Yuji Itadori. Of course, Geto isn’t exactly himself, with Kenjaku taking over his body as a vessel.
As for the other characters, you may remember Yuta from the hit movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0; Season 3 will finally disclose what he’s been up to after all this time. While Choso played a relatively minor part in Season 2, he will seemingly play a much more significant role in Season 3.
It also feels as if the list of living sorcerers continues to dwindle, as we only see Yuji and Megumi in the short tease♑r. More characters are expected to be included in the next phase, but for now, these are the ones that 𝓰have officially made the cast.
Which arcs will be included in Jujutsu Kaisen season 3?
The Jujutsu Kaisen official Twitter confirmed that Season 3 will focus on the Culling Game arc. As per the manga, the arc hosts a battle royale-esque challenge taking place after the Shibuya Incident. Anyone who enters the game must fight to the death, all in part of Kenjaku’s elaborate scheme to evolve humans with cursed energy.
The Culling Game is currently ongoing, so the next season won’t be centered around other arcs. However, there will be more than enough content to go around to answer the questions of Season 2. More importantly, will Gojo escape the Prison Realm in the anime? Only time will tell what’s in store for the Jujutsu sorcerers and if they can eventually bounce back after Season 2’s woes.
