Things are going pretty well for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the follow-up to Warhorse Studios’ pretty successful 2018 RPG. In fact, it looks as though the new sequel is already due to hit a pretty significant milestone, and so soon after release, as well.
According to the latest , Deliverance 2 not only sold well after it launched – selling a million copies in the first 24 hours – it’s also said to be “fast approaching” the two million mark.
The report goes on to say that it’s had an “especially strong performance on Steam.” Indeed, when checking the latest figures from , we can see the game peaked at 256,206 concurrent players a few days ago. At the time of writing, things are going swimmingly with over 140,000 players in-game.
Embracer also says the company believes “the game will continue to generate substantial revenues over the coming years,” with a focus on “quality, immersion, and appeal.”
Mods on their way, as well
This notion of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2‘s ongoing success being based on things like immersion is an interesting one. Especially when you take into account that Warhorse recently announced official mod support is on the way.
A recent from the developer doesn’t go into great detail about modding the game but does promise “more details on how you’ll be able to create, tweak, and expand your medieval adventure.” Keep an eye out for updates on that front. In any case, it’s going to be interesting to see how people are going to be modding the game going forward.
If you haven’t played it yet, Deliverance 2 carries the story on from the first game, putting you back into the boots of Henry. Actually, if you do want a quick reminder of what happened in the original Kingdom Come before you step into the sequel, you can check out the handy Story Recap video.
