Konami has transformed the popular arcade dance game DanceDanceRevolution for the classroom. Classroom Edition is a PC-based DDR title made for schools and fitness classes, created in cooperation with several health and fitness organizations such as the American Diabetes Association; the National Foundation on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition; and Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move in School campaign.
Students, don’t worry about having to dance alone in front of the class, as this classroom version supports 48 wireless mat controller connections to one PC. The backend of the game tracks vitals of students (BMI, caloric burn, step count) and charts it to monitor each player’s health and progress. Individual fitness is also tracked on removable smart cards, which can be inserted into the wireless floor mats. I feel bad for the kids today that can’t just ‘take a lap’ instead of exercising.
Sony Music will ♑be the exclusive music partner for DDR Classroom edition, bringing licensed tracks to the game.
Students, start practicing, as DanceDanceRevolution Classroom Edition will♏ make its wa🎀y into schools in the US this Fall.
