Videogames are officially better than reality

Sackboy was one of the best things to come out of the PS3 era. Most marquee PS3 games pushed for “realistic graphics,” but when it came to replicating the human form, they landed in the uncanny vally more often than not. One of the big exceptions to that was LittleBigPlanet. Taking a cue from Toy Story, the developers at Media Molecule didn’t aim for higher than the PS3 tech could reach, and hit the bulls-eye in their goal of bringing the world of inanimate objects to life.

Maybe they did a little too good of a job. Sackboy looks so real in the virtual world that the real thing can’t keep up. Nothing about this looks bad, but he does look a bit world-weary and lifeless compared to his in-game counterpart. The same can be said for most of the initial line up of Nintendo’s Amiibo

It’s only a matter of time before real human beings don’t look as lifelike as their videogame equivalents. Maybe living in the Matrix wont be so bad.
