Nintendo last treated us with a performance from the Mushroom Kingdom’s Princess a few weeks ago in its first transformation trailer for Princess Peach: Showtime! Today, it’s time for Act II.
Valentine’s Day brings us a quartet of new roles for Peach to star in. The upcoming Switch game’s first transformation trailer greeted us with Swordfighter Peach, Patissiere Peach, Cowgirl Peach, Ninja Peach, Detective Peach, and Kung Fu Peach. Today, we get even more exciting roles introduced to us in Dashing Thief Peach, Figure Skater Peach, Mighty Peach, and Mermaid Peach.
Figure Skater Peach is pretty much what you woul💖d expect. Peach puts on her best Elsa costume and hits the ice-covered stage. She can elegantly leap around, spin into enemies to stun them, and even g꧑rab foes and quickly twirl them around to cause disorientation.
Dashing Thief Peach was next on display. Nintendo teases stealth elements in , but Dashing Thief Peach looks like her locomotion may be the character’s selling point. In the Act II trailer, you see her sliding along rails and using a grappling hook to vertically scale the stage she’s in. It looks similar to the mechanic used in tinyBuild’s Speedrunners if you’ve ever given that game a go.
Mermaid Peach, in another Disney homage, certainly evokes The Little Mermaid‘s Ariel. The character can swim “Under the Sea,” obviously. But she can also evoke her singing abilities to control the underwater wildlife and solve various puzzles with their help.
The newest Avenger: Princess Peach
Finally, Mighty Peach has been cast in Princess Peach: Showtime! This version of our Princess looks like she could be a blast to play as. If I dare to make yet another Disney family comparison here, it seems like the Princess ꦜhas acquired her very own Mark suit from Tony Stark himself.
Mighty Peach’s suit is mostly a mechanical red. It grants her the ability to lift and throw heavy enemies. Peach can fly and attack while in the air similar to Iron Man, and while they don’t show it in use during the Act II trailer, if you look at her hands you can see they charge up, possibly teasing a move similar to the Stark suit’s repulsors. Hey, it may be the best we get since we haven’t heard anything about EA’s single-player Iron Man project in a while.
With today’s Princess Peach: Showtime! Act II trailer dropping courtesy of Nintendo, it’s only fair to assume there may be an Act III trailer somewhere on the horizon. If not, we’ll just have to see what the Princess has in store for us when her showstopping performance hits the Switch on March 22.
