Although there is nothing set in the proverbial stone when it comes to details of the Switch 2 or what happens from here on out, at least not until the Nintendo Direct on April 2, we can take some educated guesses based on Nintendo’s previous timelines and be𝔉haviour.

When will the Switch 2 release?

The only concrete date we have for the release of the Switch 2 is currently “2025”, as confirmed via the Switch 2 reveal𓆉 trailer. However, we can look to the announcement and release of the original Switch to get some clues about when the Switch 2 may be coming.

The original Switch was revealed in October 2016, and then later released in March 2017, only six or so months later. If we follow the same trajectory for the Switch 2, our best estimate is that we’re 🌼likely to see it release between July and Aug🦹ust 2025.

How much will the Switch 2 cost?

Again, there’s nothing concrete from Nintendo about the price of the next gen console, but the original Switch cost $299.99 on release. 🐲If we allow for inflation and improved specs, the Switch 2 is likely to come in at between $400 t✨o $450, although this is entirely up in the air at the moment.

The most recent version of the Switch OLED is priced at 349.99, so the Switch 2 is likely to be more expensive than that purely because of the increased 🔯spဣecs and backward compatibility that will likely render the Switch obsolete for the most part once you’ve made the upgrade.

What are the specs of the Switch 2?
