Pathfinder Second Edition has been successfully filling the void for those who left Dungeons & Dragons by the wayside, or just want to try something ꦺnew.

For those looking for a medieval fantasy game with a wealth of choices, tactical options, and robust mechanics for enhancing role-play, Pathfinder 2e is basically heaven.

For those unaware of the differences between Pathfinder 2e and its long-lived predecessor, they are wildly different beats. The action economy is different, the character-bu💃ilding options are vast and new, and even the lore is changing and expanding with every new release. The amount of people clamoring to play this game has been increasing consistently since its release, but especially in the last year.

Much of Pathfinder 2e‘s current momentum started in 2023 when Paizo released their Remastered versions of the various core books. The remaster replaced and refined the existing rules, handled in a similar but cleaner way than Dungeons & Dragons is dealing with their new 2024 revision. It’s been a year since the Paizo’s remastering project came to fruition, so they’re celebrating the only way you could expect them to: a Humble Bundle deal that is too good to be true.

One of the ways that Pathfinder 2e remains accessible is that you’ll consistently find it in the Humble Bundle book section. Now, to celebrate a year of remasters, Paizo is offering 72 items to get you well on your way with Pathfinder 2e. They’ve given you everything that you might want to first get started with the system and then sprout your own wings and take off.

Firstly, the bundle will get you all of the remastered core books, including the Player Core, GM Core, and all three Bestiaries. Secondly, there’s an absolute wealth of adventures written by the Paizo team for you to run. Most prominent are the two adventure path series of books: Quest for the Frozen Flame will take players from about level 1 to 10, and Stolen Fate will take players from about level 11 to 20, meaning if you ran both paths, players could bring their characters all the way to 💖max level.

There’s also a massive collection of scenarios, pre-written adventures for characters across the spectrum of levels that aren’t as long as the multi-book adventure paths, mostly coming from the Pathfinder Society and Pathfinder Quest series.

The last significant offering is the maps, which appeal to me. This bundle offers a wide variety of detailed maps that are designed to be repurposed and deployed by game masters whenever you need to define a space for some players. These are useful no matter what, but they come especially handy if you’re playing on a virtual tabletop like Roll20 or FoundryVTT. There are some other offerings, too, quality-of-life materials and books that offer more options for the table to play with.

If there’s one thing this bundle is good for, it’s giving players the ultimate jumping-on point for Pathfinder 2e and the path to go forward with it. Paizo’s “Happy Birthday, Remaster!” bundle runs until early December, and 72 items are for $30, with proceeds going towards ComicBooks for Kids. If you fall in love with the game, keep your eyes out for the next bundle, and the one after that.
