Oh no Nate: Yo-Kai Watch 4 gets a last-minute delay

Now due on June 20

What was once due before thಞe madness of E3, is now s🅷et to arrive after.

The highly anticipated Yo-Kai Watch 4 was set to launch in Japan on June 6, but has now been quic෴kly pushed to June 20 just weeks before release. Th🌼is is one of several delays for the first mainline console entry, with Level-5 stating repeatedly that the cause is quality related.

As I’ve talked about many times before, Level-5 is at a tipping point with Yo-Kai Watch 4. The series hasn’t caught on as well as they’d hoped in the west, but a fully 3D Ni No Kuni-looking Switch RPG is their best bet for really hitting it big. Various Yo-Kai Watch media franchises have been course correcting several times recently (from an adorable humor-based anime series to edgy, back to humor) and it’s clear Level-5 has been putting a lot of time into Yo-Kai Watch 4.

Whatever happens, whenever this thing comes out it’ll severely impact where the series goes from here.
