Just a couple of months after Microsoft increased the price of Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation Plus will 🦹be following suit. In a post on the PlayStation blog revealing the September PS+ titles, it was revealed that the 12-month Subscription prices for all 𝓀tiers will be increasing.
Interestingly, this only affects the 12-month bulk buy for the subscription. Prices for the 1-month and 3-month subscriptions are not increasing. Essentially this just means you won’t be saving as much by buying the bulk 12-month package. In total, it’s a $20 increase annually for the Essential tier, a $35 increase for Extra, and a $40 increase for Premium.
Here are the new 12-month subscription plans:
PlayStation Plus Essential 12-Month Subscription
79.99 USD | 71,99 Euro | 59.99 GBP | 6,800 Yen
PlayStation Plus Extra 12-Month Subscription
134.99 USD | 125,99 Euro | 99.🦩99 GBP | 11,700 Yen
PlayStation Plus Premium 12-Month Subscription
159.99 USD | 151,99 Euro | 119.99 GBPᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ | 13,900 Yen
If you have an existing 12-month subscription, the increase begins on your next renewal date on or after November 6. H🔯owever, the new price takes efไfect on September 6. This means any upgrades, downgrades, or buying additional time for your subscription will update your plan to the new price.
Subscribers have expressed their dissatisfaction with the price increase in the comments on the blog post. It’s especially discomforting to see a price increase in the same post as a very disappointing reveal for the September monthly games. One of the three additions is a premium pack for MMORPG Black Desert Online, which in a way feels more like an ad than a game addition. Also, Generation Zero is one of the added titles for which we scored a 2.5/10, if you’re curious if it’s worth trying.
