It’s ‘getting close’, though
A playable Yooka-Laylee demo will be av✅ailable to some backers of its Kickstarter campaign.
The spoiler-free demo offers a glimpse of the game’s sandbox, platform design to those who have donated at least £20 towards the £2m it raised via Kickstarter last year.
“As promised in our Kickstarter campaign, the Toybox isn’t a traditional ‘demo’, but a self-contained, spoiler-free sandbox designed to give Yooka-Laylee backers aಞ taste of the platforming to come in the final game,” says the latest update on . “There are plenty moves to try, custom-built props to plaღy with, secrets to discover and yes, shiny collectibles to hunt out.”
“So why has it taken so long? Quite simply, our plans for the Toybox have expanded beyond the web-based, single-room play thing we originally planned and it’s now a much more sign🐽ificant chunk of playable content.”
The 💎update also confirmed that it cannot confirm the release date, ♚but the Playtonic team stated it was “getting close”.
“[A]s fans of some of our past work will attest, we’re a group committed to releasing games onl🃏y when they’re polished, complete and at the quality level you expect. As soon as we’re confident we’ve ticked all of those boxes, we’ll inform our backers directly of when to mark their calendars.”
