Trainer’s Pokémon cards were introduced to the collection early into the life of the Pokémon TCG, with cards such as Misty’s Seel or Brock’s Onyx now being fond memories for those who were lucky enough to pull them and play them in their decks. It’s been a very long time sin🎀ce we had any new Trainer’s Cards as part of the collection, but the Journey Together Elite Trainer Box and expansion will introduce four new ones:

  • N’s Zoroark ex
  • Lillie’s Clefairy ex
  • Iono’s Bellibolt ex
  • Hop’s Zacian ex

The box and expansion will be released under the title of “Battle Partners” in♚ Japan on January 24, and will reach the west as the Journey Together box on March 28, with pre-purchase beginning two weeks earlier.

While the Trainer’s Pokémon cards are definitely the highlight of the upcoming release, there are plenty of other goodies in the set to be excited over. Along with the usual dice and counters, there will be 11 Journey Together booster packs included in the box. Each booster pack has a chance to produce the Trainer’s Poké⭕mon cards listed above, as well as the following:

  • 16 Pokémon ex cards
  • 11 rare illustration cards
  • 6 special illustration cards
  • 3 hyper rare gold cards

As stated, Trainer’s Pokémon cards aren’t a new gimmick, but it’s interesting and more than a littl💎e exciting to see them making a comeback. If you want a better look at✤ the box itself or the artwork you can expect to see on the booster packs for Journey Together, they’re already live on the Pokémon Center website, although the ability to actually order them is locked until the middle of March.
