Portal 2 was released in 2011 to widespread acclaim. Now, 22 years later, there’s a free fan-made mod called Portal: Revolution that perfectly re-captures the joy of the game, albeit🧔 with𒉰 the sad omission of a much-loved character.
Released on January 6 2024, Portal: Revolution—developed by —has received positive reviews on . Over 3,000 people have reviewed the mod at the time of this writing, and🎃 94% of those are positive.
One of the reviewers on Steam likened it to the scene in Ratatouille where the chef eats something made by 🦩the rat and has a flashback to a heartwarming childhood memory. They’re right, too.

The game add-on offers eight hours of exclusive gameplay, voice acting that perfectly captures the humor of the original game and challenging levels to work through. Promising to pick up in terms of difficulty where the original Portal 2 left off, 🍸there really is some challenge to ܫwork through.
Sadly, the add-on takes place after t☂he demise of GLaDOS, so we’re without her dark sense of humor. But with so much on offer, we can’t hold❀ that against the developers.
As well as taking the difficulty of puzzles up a notch, the developers have also introduced some new elements to gameplay. There’s a new variant of laser cube and field that cleanses gel. Second Face Software have also resurrected a feature that was removed during development of the original Portal 2: “Pneumatic Diversity Vents.”
