The PlayStation Vita has finally been cracked into like a big ol’ nut, and homebrew is on the way. 

Usermode Vita Loader is  (via ) tha🎶nks to developer Yifan Lu. Based on a recently disco🐻vered exploit, only a few lines of code have been written so far, and further developers are being sought to get it done.  

One developer has that the PS Vita will now become a hotbed of piracy, but his exploit can’t be used to run “backups” of games. Nevertheless, news of such exploits are usually the beginning of nefarious activity which, to be honest, Sony has been inviting

Whether it opens the door for pirates or not, homebrew itself is in demand with savvy PS Vita users, whether it’s for the purpose of bringing much-needed extra functionality to the system, or simply loading custom services that do things more efficiently than Sony’s archaic proprietary nonsense.

Rather than try and guilt-trip the homebrew makers, industry folks would be better off examining why suc🥃h people are deemed nece🔜ssary in the first place.
