Rumor: Next Xbox to ditch discs entirely

It’s time for your daily next-gen rumor! This latest bit of gossip speculates that Microsoft’s next console will ditch discs entirely, embracing neither DVD nor Blu-ray. Well, that’s one way to fight the used market. 

This comes from everybody’s favorite gossiper, Mr. Anonymous Source, who “under the strictest NDA.” Apparently it will support some form of solid-state card storage, but discs will be a thing of the past. 

Naturally, Microsoft gave its usual canned response, saying it doesn’t comment on rumors while reminding everybody that we should buy a Kinect. Nothing new there.
