SNK has dropped the next in their current run of character trailers, introducing us to the roster of their upcoming Samurai Shodown. This week, the series sees the return of a veteran roster member, stoic swordsman and begrudging “ladies’ man” Ukyo Tachibana.

Making his debut in the original Samurai Shodown release, Ukyo is a moody but focused pretty boy who rocks that classic samurai style of keeping his sword sheathed, before dealing out lightning fast, perfectly timed slashes. Blending brutal violence wit𓆉h a calming demeanor, Ukyo recalls a million and one similar characters made famous in Japanese movies and anime.

This trailer (courtesy of website SRK) is the third in the series to date, following on from new gal Darli Dagger and franchise poster girl Nakoruru. I gotta tell you, I think the game is looking aces, and I absolutely canno🐲t wait to get my hands on it. Hopefully it will hold up to its cool roster, sounds and visual style and will find an audience on the competitive cir♑cuit.

Samurai Shodown🌠 launches in Japan on June 27 for PS4 and Xbox One. PC and Nintendo Switch ports will follow this Winter. An arcade release is als𝕴o in the works.
