Kenichiro Takaki, producer of the long-running Senran Kagura series, has left developer/publisher Marvelous in order to pursue new projects elsewhere. Takaki will, however, remain producer of the Senran Kagura series.

Speaking in Japanese publication , Takaki spoke of pressure brought about by the recent rulings on sexually-suggestive content in video games. Last month, Takaki stated that restric🍸tions🃏 from industry giants such as Sony had, in his opinion, rendered his in-development fighter Senran Kagura 7EVEN  “impossible” to release.

According to the Famitsu interview () Takaki felt as if “a thread had snapped within him” noting that although he respects regulations as they apply to specific genres, he feels it sets an unwelcome standard. As producer, Takaki will finish up his work with Senran Kagura 7EVEN, before moving on to a new project for Cygames Inc, which is expected t🎃o be a more demure fantasy adventure.

Senran Kagura 7EVEN is in devel෴opment for an unspeಞcified future release.
