It’s intriguing to see how two passionate fan project developers came together to form Sonic Mania, and in essence, cre♌ate a Sonic game better than Sega would have done.

That’s just how Headcannon and PagodaWest Games did it, as this video from Did You Know Gaming explains, and they even got a Sonic remixer to handle the music and an outside artist to work on the intro. In many ways it’s a supercharged fan game, and the fact that Sega allowed this to happen is pretty amazing — now we just pray that they don’t buy them out and run them into the ground.

In less worrying news, Sonic Mania rocks, and this clip 🎶showcases where some of its merchandise an🌸d new levels came from.
