The process of building different items is a core part of gameplay, as you can utilize different cubes to create what you want. The early access version might not have all the planned features, but you’ll be able to create some interesting structures.

How do you build in Space Engineers 2

Creating anything in Space Engineers 2 requires the use of blocks. These blocks are available in three sizes: 2.5m, 50 cm, and 25 cm. The 2.5m blocks will be the backbone of all the creations, and they are the largest ones you can use. The 50 cm blocks are u𓆉sed as fillers, while the 25 cm blocks can be used for detailing.

While placing the blocks is pretty easy, you can use the Ctrl button to fit them precisely. Of course, there are undo and redo buttons to help you prevent any mistakes while building a structure. If you want to create a line, just click and move forward in a line to place all the blocks. Similarly, press the RMB and move in a line to remove all the blocks. This will save a lot of time as you won’t have to tweak every block manually.

Pressing the T button activates the Symmetry mode, which is extremely useful while designing a plane. This feature is best when you intend to place two blocks at exact spots on two opposite sides of a design. To control the gap, press the Ctrl button to tweak the distance. Certain tools will deactivate the Symmetry mode, so you’ll have to reactivate it once again in these instances.

How to use Partial Blueprints in Space Engineers 2

If you have created a structure that you want to use on another creation, you won’t need to redo the entire process from scratch. Instead, press Ctrl+P to select the grids that you want to copy. This can be done with the help of the WASD buttons, and you can control the volume of selection with your mouse wheel.

Once you have selected the portion you want to place on another structure, just click. You’ll be able to now place it directly on the other structure. You can also rotate your placement and make further alterations after placing it down. This feature will save a lot of your time and allow you to use the same blueprint across different designs.

With future updates, more items are expected to be added to Space Engineers 2. For the time bei𒁏ng, you can create a lot of different structures in spac𒈔e as you see fit.
