However, the developers have already provided a sneak peek of what the next few builds will focus on and what players can expect.
Space Engineers 2 roadmap
There will be some major differences between the first and the second title, as Space Engineers 2 uses a different engine. Here’s the complete roadmap that Keen Software House has revealed.
- Creative Mode: This is available at launch, and it allows players to use a plethora of different building tools. This includes a VRAGE3 engine, a 25 cm unified grid system, and more.
- Vertical Slice 1.1: This update is expected to add Steam Workshop, which will allow you to use custom creations in the game. Players will also be able to share their creations among themselves.
- Vertical Slice 1.2: This update will focus on improving the mechanics and refining the game as a whole.
- Vertical Slice 1.5: This update is expected to officially add modding support to the game, which will allow you to edit the base files.
- Vertical Slice 2: This is expected to be a major update since it will introduce an exploration system. The update will also have new tools, which will let you enjoy bigger challenges and take your progression to the next level.
- Vertical Slice 3: Water will be added with this update, as you will be able to find oceans, rivers, and lakes. The water bodies are also going to be available for exploration.
