Squid Game proved to be something of a surprise worldwide hit when it released on Netflix back in 2022. Once the show wrapped, viewers were left practically begging for more and now, finally, we 🤪know when more is coming.
will debut on Netflix on December 26, 2024. There’s some pressure for the sequel, of course, but also apparently quite a bit in store. “I do have a lot on my shoulders,” Director Hwang Dong-hyuk told Netflix in 2023. “But I’ll make sure it’s worth the wait.”
Season two will pick up the story three years after the culmination of season 1, with the crowned winner of the season Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) focusing on his endeavor to take down the organizers of Squid Game.
Armed with his hefty amount of winnings, Gi-hun will set out in search of the man pꦇlaying ddakji on the subway, only to find that he’ll need to step back 🦄into the dark world of the Squid Games if he wants to end them once and for all.
There’s a long list of returning faces coming back for Squid Game Season 2 alongside Lee, including the following:
- Lee Byung-hun (Hwang In-ho, the overseer of the games)
- Gong Yoo (The salesman who recruits participants for the games)
- Wi Ha-Jun (The detective from season one)
But of course, with a lot o🐬f the familiar faces from Season 1 ⛄being dead or having moved on from their harrowing experience, there’s a long list of new faces coming to Season 2 as well.
And that’s not all. On top of the news that Season 2 will be coming on December 26, we also now know that Season 3 is now . The third season will ꧂be the last one, according 𝔉to Netflix, so the story will be all wrapped up within the next couple of years.
