Star Ocean: First Departure R gets new trailer, release date

Square Enix has announced that Star Ocean: First Departure R, a remake of a remake announced a few months back, will be heading to the PS4 and Switch on December 5, 2019. Alongside that news is a brand new trailer, giving us our first glimpse of how this new version will look. You can clearly tell this has roots as a PSP game, but I quite ꦆlike the sprite 🦋work.

While light on changes to gameplay, the trailer does at least confirm dual audio will be present. The dub doesn’t sound so bad here, but I’m always a stickler for playing with the original audio. Call me a weeaboo all you want, because I am one. I won’t deny that fact.

You can find some more info on . First Departure R will be present at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, so we’re bound to learn more in the next week or so.
