Starfield and Doom come together in this official Creation mod

From the people that brought us Sim Settlements 2 for Fallout 4.

I think it’s fair to say that Starfield is a decent game, pretty vast in scope, but it didn’t quite reach the lofty heights Bethesda was hoping for. Still, it’s a year and a bit later, and it’s managing to draw people in, but it’s unfortunately struggling to shake off that “Mixed” review score on .

However, that won’t deter the modding community, the tenacious and ambitious bunch that they are, and this new one combines the world of Starfield with the carnage of modern Doom. Over on the , “At Hell’s Gate” is now available to play for free. Check out the brief trailer for it below.

The description has this to say about it:

A band of mercenaries has narrowly escaped 🗹an encounter with something that can♑ only be described as beyond evil. Investigate this mysterious happening and prevent a vile force from invading your universe.

DoomField! (Puns are easy)

The mod – which is available on both PC and Xbox Series X|S versions of Starfield – also comes with some tasty bonuses after you complete the new quest. Once done, you’ll get access to a spacesuit that’s based on Doom‘s Praetor Suit, the Super Shotgun (natch), and the Crucible Blade.

There are also six plushies that can be crafted if you wish to decorate your Starfield outposts and homes. When you download “At Hell’s Gate,” you can start the mission by “approaching an SSNN broadcast pillar in any of the major cities, such as New Atlantis, Cydonia, Akila City, or Neon.”

This official Creations mod comes from the minds of , the team that’s also responsible for the “Bard’s College Expansion” and “East Empire Expansion” quests for Skyrim, as well as , the rather vast sequel to the city-building project that you can download for Fallout 4.

So, you know, these guys weren’t just banging rocks together when they decided to blend Doom with Starfield. They seem to know what they’re doing.
