Stern Pinball has unveiled a brand new pinball machine, a variation of one of its most popular, for a very special anniversary. The greyscale Godzilla 70th Anniversary Edition Pinball Machine features brand new artwo𝓰rk, content, and🧔 a way to enjoy the franchise like never before.
As the name suggests, the Godzilla 70th Anniversary Edition Pinball Machine celebrates the 70th anniversary of the king of movie monsters. The first movie premiered in Nagoya in October 1954, and we still adore it all these years later. This pinball machine is a tour of Godzilla’s greatest stories and battles, allowing you to jump in and find enemies you might be familiar with, others you might not be, and dozens of nods to every major entry. in the franchise.
Remembered as it was born
As you can see in the trailer, the Godzilla 70th Anniversary Edition Pinball Machine takes everything from the full-colᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚor version and wipes that color out. Godzilla was born in black and white, and this pinball machine is an homage to that original vision that capt🔯ivated audiences.
The machine is available at the same price as the premium color table, $9,699, and will remain so for the foreseeable f🐠uture. Stern Pinball has also confirmed that th🐻is machine will be in production for as long as there is demand, with no end in sight as long as there are buyers.
Finally, Stern Pinball is launching a new Godzilla Challenge Mode alongside the Godzilla 70th Anniversary Edition Pinball Machine. This challenge mode can be played by those with the greyscale and color machines, so no matter how you’re celebrating Godzilla, you can push your skills further.
I adore Godzilla, and I have only recently watched the latest movies in which the Kaiju battles against and then with Kong. Despite being a hulking, great mutated dragon with breath that could turn several cities into glass at once, there’s something intoxicating about Godzilla that makes us want to watch and even root for the thing that could well destroy us. That is unless you’re watching Shin Godzilla.
Some truly iconic pinball machines are out there, but few produced today are as iconic as Godzilla. Sure, it’s fun to play around with a John Wick or Jaws pinball machine for a laugh, but Godzilla is part of ꦑthe woodwork when it comes to sci-fi and monster movies.
Celebrating that with your own pinball machine, or just with one in an arcade, makes the franchise tangible and enhances the already pretty thrilling experience of every round on a pinball table. There’s something about the physicality of a table that brings the creature to life far more than its various video game crossovers and releases.
