The Model L Call of Duty Black Ops 6 loadout you should use

The Model L is a full-auto assault rifle that is slow at firing but has great accuracy, maki?ng it great at mid-ranged gunfire. To help enhance its accuracy an?d improve its firepower, here are the recommended attachments:

• Optic: Accu-Spot Ultra Holo
• Muzzle: Muzzle Brake
• Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
• Underbarrel: Precision Foregrip
• Magazine: Extended Mag I
• Rear Grip: Commando Grip
• Stock: Balanced Stock
• Fire Mod: 5.56 NATO Overpressured

You can get eight attachments if you use the Gunfighter Wildcard. Otherwise, you're stuck with five.

Why should you choose this loadout?

The Optic is completely up to you, but the Model L should have a 3x optic as it's suited for mid-range combat. I picked the Accu-Spot Ultra Holo optic as the Willis 3X reduces your Aim Down Sight Speed. Next, for the Muzzle, go for the Muzzle Brake. It gives you further control over your gunfire and increases the Kick Reset Speed. If you want to go for a stealthy build, choose the Suppressor as it removes your shots from the mini-map.

Moving on, the Barrel should be the Reinforced Barrel as it increases your Damage Range and Bullet Velocity. This is great for mid to long-ranged fights and significantly improves the Firepower of the Model L. The Precision Foregrip should be the next pickup in the Underbarre?l section. It improves Aiming Idle Sway and Horizontal Recoil? Control, giving even further accuracy.

It's always best to have more ammo at the ready, so an Extended Mag I is your best pick for the Magazine. If you want to improve the speed of your gun, however, the Fast Mag I is not a bad shout either because it improves Reload Quickness, Aim Down Sight Speed, and Sprint? to Fire Speed. As it's a mid-range gun, however, it's not as suited to close-quarters scenarios.

Thankfully, you can significantly increase the Aim Down Sight Speed of the gun with the Quickdraw Grip as your Rear Grip. You don't need the Sprint to Fire Speed and Slide to Fire Speed from other attachments as this gun shouldn't be as mobile as the XM4 and the Goblin Mk2.

The Balanced Stock improves many factors of the Model L, including Strafing Movement Speed, Hipfire Movement Speed, Movement Speed, and Aim Walking Movement Speed, making the gun more adaptable to short-ra??nged?? and mid-ranged encounters.

Lastly, you'll want the 5.56 NATO Overpressured Fire Mod on the Model L. It will hel?p you counter the gun's slow-?firing capabilities.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 local multiplayer is something many fans want as it's been a part of the series for decades. Playing against your friends or with them in co-op on t??he couch is a memory many cherish and would like to resume in 2024 and beyond.

Is Call of Duty Black Ops 6 split-screen-capable with friends?

Thankfully, you can play both the zombies mode and multiplayer with split-screen functionality. There's a catch, however. PS4, Xbox One, and PC Call of Duty Black Ops 6 players can't use split-screen ??and are only able to play with ?one player at all times. Only those on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S can play a round of Team Deathmatch with a mate on the couch with split-screen. Simply connect the second controller and have them press A or the cross button at the lobby.

The positive is that the split-screen covers the entire screen with no cut-off sections. It's fully 16:9. It doesn't seem like yo??u can play competitively against each other, however. I've tried to start a local multiplayer match under the "Private Match" mode and it didn't connect a second controller.

Does Call of Duty Black Ops 6 need to connect online?

Unfortunately, you'll need to always be online while playing Call of Duty Black Ops 6, even for the single-player campaign. This means that LAN has become obsolete. At least, some form of Black Ops 6 local multiplayer is suppor??ted thr?ough split-screen.

Do you need a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass to play Call of Duty Black Ops 6 online?

If you're playing the game on PS4 and PS5, you'll need at least PlayStation Plus Essential to access Call of Duty Black Ops 6's multiplayer matchmaking. ADSing is a term used in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 while explaining the Perk Tracke??r. However, it's a bit of jargon that isn't described in any manner in the game; here's what it actually means.

What exactly is ADSing in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6?

In short, ADSing means to "aim down sights" in a match. This could be with an assault rifle with an impressive optics setup or a sniper like the SVD. The term is brought up when the game describes the P??erk Tracker, which lets you see enemy footsteps and auto-ping enemies when you? ADS them.

How to improve ADS

There are some attachments you can add to your assault rifle to make it gain a faster ADS. For example, the Flip Mag magazine increases your aim down sight speed (ADS), Reload Quickness, and Sprint to Fire Speed. Unfortunately, the Flip Mag also has a weakness as it decreases your firepower and Magazine Ammo Capacity. You can unlock the Flip Mag at Level 29 of the weapon XM4?, just as an example. The Fast Mag II also improves your Aim D??own Sight Speed more dramatically.

Other ways to improve ADS are by equipping the Quickdraw Grip, Commando Grip, or Ergonomic Grip to your weapon's Rear Grip. The Hipfire to ADS Accuracy stat can also be increased by putting on the Strelok Laser but keep in mind that the laser is visible while you're aiming down. However, this might be helpful with an SMG KSV.

What decreases ADS?

D?isappointingly, there are many attachments that can decrease your ADS as well. For example, the Ext??ended Mag II gives you much more magazine ammo capacity but decreases your ADS, Reload Quickness, and Sprint to Fire Speed. The Extended Mag III does this too to the ADS of your weapon but also slows down Reload Quickness, Sprint to Fire Speed, and Aim Walking Movement Speed.

What is the max level?

The max level in Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is Level 55. There are further rewards you can get from prestiging. However, the negative of doing this is that you'll lose your load-outs and weapons. All the level unlocks are relocked, except for the base Operators, emotes, and anything permanently unlocked. According to the official Call of Duty website, these won't be reset:

• Weapon Progression, Camos, & Reticles
• Weapon Builds but the builds themselves will be waiting for you once you unlock the weapon again.
• Challenge Progress & Unlocks
• Store & Battle Pass Content
• Operator & Emote Unlocks

The AMES 85 is one of the first assault rifles you'll unlock in Call of Duty Black Ops 6, and it's fantastic?? for mid to long-range scenari??os. Here's how to make the most out of this weapon in the game with your loadout.

What is the best AMES 85 loadout in Call of Duty Black Ops 6?

The best way to go about this AMES 85 loadout is to increase the weapon's accuracy and firepower. We also want to improve the magazine? by including more ammo. To fulfill this, you'll need the following atta??chments:

• Optic: Dobrych 4X
• Muzzle: Ported Compensator
• Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
• Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
• Magazine: Extended Mag I
• Rear Grip: Commando Grip
• Stock: Balanced Stock
• Fire Mod: 5.56 NATO FMJ or Rapid Fire

Your choice of optic should be determined by how you play the game. If you want to use this as a mid-ranged weapon mostly, go for the Dobrych 4X. T??he sight line is perfect for me, but you may prefer a different scope.If you want a longer-ranged option pick the Blandwell 7X. Personally, I don't like to use a sniper-like scope with assault rifles due to the recoil, but it's up to you.

Other Attachments you should add

The Suppressor might be the pick for a sniper like the LW3AI Frostline, but for this assault rifle, I prefer the Ported Compensator. You gain better accuracy, improved recoil control, and better hand??ling.

In order to cause a lot of damage to your opponents, you'll want a devastating barrel. Thankfully, the Reinforced Barrel will do the trick with an increased damage range and bullet ?velocity.

The Ranger Foregrip provides a be??tter sprinting movement speed and increased recoil control. It makes this weapon more dynamic and allows you to be on the move from position to position faster.

As the AMES 85 lacks ammo, it's best to have an Extended Mag I in your attachments l?ist. It unfortunately lowers the Reload Quickness but with how fast you lose ammo with this gun, it's worth it.

For the Rear Grip, you should choose the Commando Grip. It increases your Aim Down Sight Speed and Sprint to Fire Speed, letting you be more dynamic on the battlefield. If you like to slide and dive in Call of Duty Black Ops 6, however, you may want the Ergonomic Grip inst??ead.

Next, the Stock should be the Balanced Stock. It increases a lot, including:

• Strafing Movement Speed
• Movement Speed
• Hipfire Movement Speed
• Aim Walking Movement Speed

Having an increase in this many stats helps the AMES 85 become adaptable to many diff??erent situations.

Lastly, you'll want either the 5.56 NATO FMJ or the Rapid Fire mods on your gun. Your penetration and scorestreak damage increases with the 5.56 NATO FMJ while the Rapid Fire gives you an impressive fire rate for close-quarters action. Personally I prefer the former because the Rapid Fire has many downsides like a decreased damage range and bullet velocity. With all of these attachments, your AMES 85 loadout in Black Ops 6 will be dangerous.

Over the years, the Call of Duty series has been responsible for some of the best FPS multiplayer maps ever. With? annual releases since 2005, there are bound to be s??ome classics.

I'm sorting the treasure from the trash to bring you the 10 best Call of Duty multiplayer maps from the series' history. While it's a subjective list, jus?t beware that I'm totally right with these rankings. Obviously.

10. Rust

• First appearance: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009)

If you grew up a gamer in 2009, you might be familiar with the phrase "1v1 me on Rust." This tiny map debuted in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and became an instant hit with players due to its small size and various levels of elevation, making for const?ant ??action.

Rust matches were absolute chaos from start to finish, so its subsequent returns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) and Modern Warfare 3 (2023) were ??exciting. Explosive action, easy XP - what's not to love?

9. Vacant

• First appearance: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007)

The dark corridors of Vacant make for some epic close-quarters fights. It goes underappreciated in the series' long history, but I can appreciate that Vacant matches were unlike anything else. This uncertainty of where your next fight came from made Vacant one of the best Search and Destroy maps in Call of Duty history.

While appearances in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) and the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot followed, it??'s difficult to top the dreary atmosphere of the 2007 original.

8. Castle

• First appearance: Call of Duty: World at War (2008)

Call of Duty: World at War's Castle oozes atmosphere. Set in WW2-era Japan, it's a map with something for everyone. Various tight lanes allow for intense close-quarters combat, although there are several sniper's nests that players can use to shac??kle up and camp out some kills.

Despite being asymmetrical, Castle works exceptionally well in almost every game mode. It never got its props, but I was ecstatic to see it return in 2021's Call of Duty: Vanguard.

7. Firing Range

• First appearance: Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010)

If you're looking for action-packed Domination or Headquarters matches, it doesn't get much better than Firing Range. It's set in, you guessed it, a military firing range, subtly adhering to the series' standard three-lane approach while cleverly draw??ing players toward the cente??r.

Treyarch knows what a gem it created, too, with it returning in Black Ops 2 as Studio and Black Ops 3 and 4 as Firing Range once more.

6. Standoff

• First appearance: Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (2012)

Based in a tiny border town, Standoff is a small map that still encourages ??long-distance engagements. Multiple levels of verticality near flag sites make? Standoff an excellent Domination map.

Standoff came back for Black Ops Cold War, and there'??s no doubt that Treyarch will revisit this one in the future.

5. Terminal

• First appearance: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009)

Whenever you played Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, you prayed for a Terminal match. It's awesome for every play style. You've got medium-range engagements through the terminal, close-range fights in the air?plane, and long-distance lanes g?reat for snipers littered around the map.

Terminal is the best Search and Destroy map in the entire series. It has plenty of hiding spots, where one mistake is fatal and can lose you the whole round. One of the bomb sites bein??g on the plane is a stroke of genius, as it makes it extremely difficult for the attackers to get a foothold on the map due to the difficulty of the close-range encounters.

4. Shipment

• First appearance: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007)

Shipment is the smallest map in the Call of Duty series, yet one of the best. The map is filled with shipping containers, filtering players down several lanes in what is essentially one small square. This makes for beyond-chaotic matches, whic?h are perfect for farming XP and earning camos extremely fast.

After its first appearance in the original Modern Warfare, it later returned in the 2019 reboot, too. The series' love affair with Shipment continued, swiftly appearing in Vanguard as well as Modern Warfare 2 and 3.

3. Hijacked

• First appearance: Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (2012)

Everyone loves Hijacked. Symmetrical mayhem on a luxurious super yacht. Two main interior structures allow for interesting close-range fights, while the exterior is where you'll find many medium-range engagements. You're never far from your next gunfight on Hijacked, making it one of the most fast-paced maps Call of Duty has ever seen.

As a multiplayer map, Hijacked only ever returned in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. I'm hoping it's not the last time we see it.

2. Crash

• First appearance: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007)

Crash is a masterclass in map design. The crashed helicopter in the map's center is the focal point, with all avenues leading back to it. This n??aturally brings all the players tog?ether to one area of the map, creating a constant battle for control of that center.

Because of this, Crash feels much smaller than it is. That's a compliment - it never gets boring, which is why it returned in both 2009's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and 2019's Modern Warfare reboot, its layout virtually untouched. It's pretty much perfection anyway, and comfortably one of the best Call of Duty maps ever.

1. Nuketown

• First appearance: Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010)

Two tiny show homes separated by one small street make for the best Call of Duty map ever. It's all chaos, all of the time, as players dart around this extremely small map, trying to farm as many kills as possible. The original version of Nuketown placed the map at a nuclear test sit?e, creating an eerie vibe that made it instantly iconic.

At this point, it's not a Treyarch game without Nuketown, with variations featured in every Black Ops title. Pick your poison. Nuketown 2025. Nuk3town. Иuk3toши. Nuketown '84. No matter which iteration you play, it's all a spin on the same classic formula established back in Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk confirmed during a recent interview that a new project between him and Activision has been in talks. This news is rolling by as we reach the 25th anniversary of the Pro Skater series later this month; fingers crossed a new Tony Hawk game is in the works.

“I can tell you I’ve been talking to Activision again, which is insanely exciting,�Hawk said to Mythical Kitchen. “We’re working on something.�/p>

Unfortunately, the pro??-skating legend doesn't expand beyond that, but notes it's the first time he's acknowledged it publicly and something "fans will truly appreciate."

The 25th anniversary of the series occurs on September 29, so if Tony Hawk and Activision have an Ollie cooking in the future, we'll likely hear about it then. Strangely, Activision has also updated the banner image of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater X account, celebrating?? the 25th anniversary, leading fans to speculate if somet??hing is in the works.

During the interview, Hawk explained the origins of the series with him playing an early version of the game with Bruce Willis riding a skateboard. He was approached by Activision after the company heard about Hawk pitching a skateboarding game to multiple companies around a year before. The rest is history as the Pro Skater series has sold over $1.4 billion in copies, according to the official Tony Hawk website.

It's funny to hear how successful the series became becau?se at one point while pitching a? project based on this sport to publishers, Hawk was told, according to his Mythical Kitchen interview, "Skateboarding isn't even popular; why would we make a video game with skateboarding?"

The last time we heard news about the Tony Hawk series was when the remakes of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 launched on Steam. This occurred last year on October 3. Hopefully, a new Tony Hawk game, possibly remakes of 3 + 4, is on the way soon.

The latter parts of the year are no doubt an exciting time if you're hugely into the Call of Duty franchise. Or even if you just take a passing interest in it. Black Ops 6 is just weeks away from release, but ther?e is a little bit of bad news for those who were hoping for some early access fun.

According to a statement sent to CharlieINTEL on X �an account that tracks all things related to CoD �Activision has decided to for?go early access for the campaign for this installment. The ful?l statement reads thus:

The team is fully focused on October 25th. We are excited about all the game has to offer across Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies. This year, we made the decision to ensure the community gets to dig in to any and all modes that they want at the same time, so we are back to one massive global launch moment October 25th. As such, there is no Early Access beat this year for Black Ops 6, just the countdown to launch.

Black Nope 6

As you can imagine, this isn't going down too well with the Call of Duty fan base. A quick look at some of the responses to CharlieINTEL's posts shows more than a few are not happy with the dec?ision Activision has gone ahead with, just weeks before the game launches.

Black Ops 6 will represent the first in the franchise under the Microsoft umbrella. The tech giant bought Activision Blizzard �and therefore the CoD brand �back in 2022 for an eye-watering $69 billion, despite backlash from some regulatory bodies.

Many were initially concerned the acquisition would make the Call of Duty games Xbox exclusives, but Microsoft assured worried gamers this would not be the case. However, Black Ops 6 not having campai???gn early access is going to leave a sour taste in a lot of people's collective mouths.

Love it or hate it, Call of Duty is here to stay, maintaining the long-standing tradition of releasing a new title every year; a tradition that goes back two decades. Black Ops 6 represents the next iteration of Activision's money printer, which will a?lso put a big smile on Microsoft's face after the company bought the franchise in 2023.

Add onto that, "Blops 6" will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch, and you've got yourself an unstoppable profit-making formula right there. But what if you aren't planning on playing the game on console? What if you have aspirations of getting your military-ba??sed FPS on via PC, or better yet, on the move with a Steam Deck?

Not very Linux-friendly, it seems

Okay, enough dilly-dallying. Let's just say at this stage that until the game actually comes out, we can only really speculate. At the time of writing, the Black Ops 6 Steam page doesn't have any information to go on? regarding Deck compatibility. However, we can at least take a look back at the last few entries to see what the score is and extrapolate from that.

See, the problem here is the Steam Deck uses a Linux-based operating system called Proton. Because of this, the device famously takes issue when it comes to running alongside anti-cheat software, which Call of Duty typically uses. The Call of Duty games come loaded with the Ricochet anti-cheat tech, which is not compatible with Linux. As such, Black Ops 6 is unlikely to be verified f?or the ??Deck by Valve itself.

However, as noted in a recent report from PCGamesN, it is possible to duel-boot the device with an alternative operating system, such as SteamOS or even Windows 11. This should at least bypass any issues between Proton and CoD's anti-cheat solutions.

If we glance at previous installments, we can see this has been an ongoing issue for some time. Take Black Ops: Cold War, for example. As noted on the Steam page, this game is "unsupported" when it comes to the Steam Deck. The 2023 release of Modern Warfare also shows it as not being compatible. However, 2015's Black Ops 3 is down as "playable," but not "verified."

In a nutshell: it doesn't look like good news if you were hoping to play Black Ops 6 on your Steam Deck. The third-party website ProtonDB �which draws data from SteamDB and Steam itself �lists the Call of Duty franchise on the whole as "borked." Make of that what you will. It looks like you can get it to run, but with some workarounds that might not be worth the effort unless you really want to play it on the move.

A new mod for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is about to bring Modern Warfare 2's iconic multiplayer experience back to life, taking you on a 2009-fueled nostalgia trip to the good ole days of CoD.

If you were lucky enough to remember Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in its heyday, you probably remember it as one of the series�high points. Upon the release of the 2020 remaster, it was shocking that multiplayer was no longer included. Sure, the single-player campaign was great, but we all know that the multiplayer is what we really wanted. Four years later,?? the community's collective wishes have been granted thanks to H2M Mod.

You might have seen a couple of posts from prominent Call of Duty creators over the last few days showing gameplay from H2M Mod. If you're a fan of Modern Warfare 2, it no doubt caught your attention. Using 2017's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, the H2M Mod team has managed to bring back that classic MW2 experience in the new engine. It's 2009 all over again - just a little sh?inier this time around.

The experience won't be exactly as you remember it. It'll be better, in fact. Yes, you'll have access to all of Modern Warfare 2's weapons, maps, killstreaks, and progression, but there's more going on here. All of the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered maps are also included, and some of the MW2 campaign maps have been repurposed for multiplayer, too. Several fan-favorite weapons from Modern Warfare Remastered make a return, giving you the best of both worlds, and there are even a few new camos to unlock made specifical??ly for this mod.

The mod has caused waves within the CoD scene over the last few days, with a release date for the mod set for August 16. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is currently among the top-selling games on Steam, perhaps no coincidence?? there as gamers gear up for the ultimate trip down mem?ory lane.

The anticipation for the Call of Duty x The Crow crossover has been building since Season 4, fueled by a few leaks that hinted at its arrival. Although it didn't debut then, the collaboration is now in full effect with the epic teaser of The Crow's anti-hero.

The snippet reveals a few shots of Eric Draven, also known as the Crow, in his classic all-in-black ensemble. It then ends with an Aug. 22 release date, which is around the same time as Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone's Season 5 Reloaded debut.

It makes sense why Call of Duty x The Crow would drop around this time, as the new movie will launch the day after. The film reimagines the 1994 cult classic of the same name starring the late Brando??n Lee. Based? on the teaser, Bill Skarsgård's iteration will be the new Operator, but Lee's version could still be in the cards.

If the CoD crossover is anything like the films, it'll likely bring out some new weapons, from traditional guns to swords. Even more so, new Finishing Moves will undoubtedly be a part of it, giving you the power to take down enemies as the anti-hero. This could also involve superhuman abilities, which have been used in other crossovers like The Boys.

Besides The Crow collaboration, MW3 and Warzone Season 5 Reloaded offer plenty more content, including the final story mission for Zombies. So, get ready to clear some room for your storage around Aug.?? 21, as a pre-download will be available beforehand.

As Season 4 draws to a close, Activision unveiled ??yet another te?aser for Season 5 with a new Warzone Superstore POI. Urzikstan map lovers can look forward to this latest feature on July?? 24, with the poss?ible comeback of the STG-44.

The Atlas Superstore brings forth a new hub where you can gather some much-needed materials. Though, it won't be as easy as ??chec?king out a few items at the counter, given that everyone will be gunning for this place. That just means you'll have to use the aisles to your advantage to get through here safely.

If you look closely at this Warzone Season 5 teaser, you may have noticed the sightings of the classic weapon, STG-44. This Assault Rifle has been a part of almost every CoD iteration, from Black Ops to Advanced Warfare. Although the gun was only shown briefly in the clip, it does seem to?? match the design from past?? entries.

The STG-44 also looks to have a much more modern design to complement the franchise's revamped graphics. It'll be curious to see how it will work in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 5. I, myself, would like to know if i?t will have the same submachine gun qualities as it did in the past.

On the other hand, it hasn't been officially confirmed that the STG-44 will make its return. Plus, the weapon in the teaser could be a completely different gun we are unaware of. But since there have been a few l?eaks floating around its comeback, it does seem plausible.

In the four years of Warzone, we've competed in battle royale matches across eight maps, but which is the best, and which would we rather forget? I've ranked every Warzone battle royale map from worst to best.

For this list, we've included the larger battle royale maps and the smaller ones generally used for Resurgence modes. Of course, the bigger maps do play a little differently than their more compact companions, but Warzone is Warzone and I feel y?ou can accurately compare them based on map design, and overall fun.

So, strap in for a trip down memory lane as I take you?? through every map in the battle royale's history.

8. Caldera - Warzone's worst map

When I'm writing a list like this, I sometimes feel bad placing something as "worst." Sometimes the thing isn't that bad, but the things above them are just so good that they end up in tha??t spot.

This is not one of those occasions. Caldera is, without question, the lowpoint of Warzone, and is universally despised by players. The map is far too big to begin with, and this issue is compounded by a severe lack of buildings and settlements across t?he island. Sometimes it felt like you were playing a hiking simulator rather than a battle royale, and the openness of Caldera meant you were constantly getting sniped.

Visibility on this map was poor and there wasn't enough cover, but perhaps worst of all was the fact that it replaced Warzone's best map (more on that later.) Perhaps it never stood a chance when it was following the King of Warzone, but it certainly wasn't what fans wanted, and it is not looked back on ??fondly.

7. Fortune's Keep

Now this one does feel a little harsh, as I don't dislike Fortune's Keep. Unfortunately, though, I couldn't rank it any higher, as for me, it just crosses that threshold of being a little too small. I always felt that it was too hectic, and the nature of the layout drove people to land at the Keep POI, whi??ch meant t?he start of matches were always manic.

It's original run was just five months between June and Nov. 2022, although it ??returned in Feb. 2024. I just find Fortune's Keep a little forgettable, and while it's generally not bad and I don't mind many of the POIs, it just doesn't have enough to rank any higher on? my list.

6. Ashika Island

Ashika Island is one of the best Resurgence maps in Warzone, and is visually completely different from everything else. Set somewhere in the Pacific Asia region, the island is full of ancient-looking buildings, while the POIs ?are varied and n??icely spread apart.

The only thing that keeps Ashika Island from being near the business end of this list is the fact that i??t's so dark and gloomy compared to other maps on this list. It does give it a unique aesthetic, but it also can make it harder to see enemies dressed in greys and blacks, and with the level of competition in this list, that's enough to send you down the rankings.

5. Urzikstan

This was a hard one, and I almost had it at number four on this list, but I've always found that when I'm dropping into Urzikstan I fi?nd it hard to differentiate some of the locations, and generally find the layout to be a little c??onfusing.

Still, this is a solid battle royale map, but perhaps the POIs could have been a little more interesting, and the east of the map could have used s?ome love. There's plenty of cover though, and lots of looting opportunities, so it's still well worth your time.

4. Al Mazrah

Al Mazrah is Warzone's largest map, but the developers did a great job to not make it feel that way. Instead, Al Mazrah feels like a really well-balanced offering, with a mixture of new and interesting POIs such as Tarq Village dotted alongside classic Modern Warfare 2 locations like Quarry.

There are some areas that could do with a few more buildings or POIs, especially the west side which become?s quite empty. once you get past the Caves. Having the Observatory sitting high on a hill in the middle of the map is nice, and Al Mazrah C??ity is a fun hot-drop if you fancied immediate action.

Unfortunately, Al Mazrah was removed in Dec.?? 2023, and we don't know when we'll see it again.

3. Rebirth Island

Put your pitchforks down for a second—I still think Rebirth Island is really good. It's one of Warzone's most popular maps ever for a reason, and I have so many fond memories of playing on it during the first two y??ears of the battle royale's lifespan.

After a two year absence, it returned in April 2024, and if it wasn??'t for its reappearance, it actually might be higher on my list. While I still really like Rebirth Island, I do now accept that I had been looking back on it with rose-tinted glasses, and when you play now it feels a little cramped. The layo??ut doesn't really lend itself to different kinds of combat either, it's just close-quarters gunfights all the time. That's why it takes third on my list, which is still a good performance if you ask me.

2. Vondel

For me, Vondel is the best of Warzone's small maps. Based on Amsterdam, it's unlike anything else in the game, with canals flowing through the area, and incredible POIs. University, Castle, and Stadium are three of my absolute favorites on this map, but there really isn't a bad location?, and the built-up nature of the city mixed with long roads and open canals creates the perfect mix of short and long-range action.

In my opinion, it's the most fun you can have playing Warzone today, and ?if you haven't tried it yet, I beg you to give it a go. You won't regret it.

1. Verdansk - Warzone's best map

The original, and the best. Four years after it first appeared in Warzone, Verdansk still sits at the top of the mountain, and deserves every drop of praise it g??ets. It came during a period of time where we all truly needed it, and captured our hearts. Who doesn't ha?ve awesome memories of dropping Superstore with their buddies, or taking on an enemy squad in Storage Town?

You may accuse me of looking at Verdansk with rose-tinted glasses, the same way I did with Rebirth I??sland, but I don't believe I am. The flow of matches on Verdansk fel??t so nice, and the layout created opportunities for all different kinds of combat. Rotations were easy, the layout was simple, and the buildings were interesting.

It truly is the best that Warzone has ever seen, and we can only hope the rumors of its return with Black Ops 6 end up being true.

If you haven't heard of Lionbridge before, it's a company that has provides QA services for various gaming c??ompanies, including Microsoft and Activision. However, what's put it in the limelight lately is an allegation of unfair labor practice. The Communication Workers of America say that an entire 160-person team was laid off in retaliation for "engaging in protected organizing activities and protected speech when raising issues regarding ??their working conditions."

This comes via press release from the CWA labor union, which has already filed an unfair labor practice charge against Lionbridge. It has added that the 160-team based in Boise, Id?aho was told they were being let go b?ecause work on a project had ended. However, the CWA asserts that separate teams in Mexico and Poland are still working on the very same project.

As if that wasn't enough, the CWA has brought to attention a similar incident from 2016. Per GeekWire, Lionbridge laid off all union?ized employees in Bellevue, Washington who were testing Windows apps for Microsoft. This came only two months after temporary workers had signed their first union contract. At the time, Lionbridge insisted this was due to Microsoft offering?? less work though former employees believed this wasn't the case. As such, the CWA has claimed both of these waves of lay-offs are retaliation for unionizing.

Since the affected team provided quality-assurance services to Activision, now a Microsoft subsidiary, the CWA has said it expects the Xbox company to "hold its contractors to the same standards the company has set for itself." In the past, Microsoft has stated it has no issues with unionization efforts, publicly recognizing ZeniMax Workers United (a union for ZeniMax Media's Q&A department) in 2023, and it even ran an ad in the Washington Post all about how much it approves of unions. It's worth nothing that this was during the period when Microsoft was seeking approval for its approximately $68.7 billion buyout of Activision. We've co?ntacted Microsoft for a comment on the matter and will be sure to update this article should we get a response.

There has been a noticeable surge in unionization efforts within the games industry in the last few years. For instance, QA workers within Blizzard Albany and Raven Software (two Activision studios that are now part of Microsoft) voted to unionize in 2022. In early 2023, two QA employees within Activision were fired for expressing outrage with "strong language" in response to a ma?ndate for a partial return-to-office st?ipulation, but t??he CWA said this was a violation of ??workplace laws and filed charges against the company.

We all knew this year's Call of Duty would be another entry in Treyarch's Black Ops subseries, simply titled Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. However, one interesting and exciting new addition that was kept under wraps until the recent Call of Duty Direct was omnidirectional movement. This means players will be able to sprint, slide, and dive in any direction, and the team at Treyarch not only hopes fans will like it, but that it'll be popular enough to become a mainstay for future Call of Duty games.

On June 10, associate design director Matt Scronce and senior director of production Yale Miller answered questions from the press (including VGC) about Black Ops 6. Naturally, the topic of omnidirectional movement (or Omnimovement as they're calling it) was brought up, and Miller admitted he hopes it will become a new standard for the Call of Duty series when asked. He added, "I think if it’s really good, it won’t just become the standard for other Call of Duty games," suggesting other developers?? could pick it up for their games too.

Of course, that's dependent on how well Omnimovement is received; something Miller is acutely aware of too: "If it’s great, people are going to want it. ... So we hope we do a great job at it..." He and the rest of the team won't need to wait too long for feedback since there will be a beta session in a few months time. There's no exact date for it yet, but frequent Call of Duty leaker BobNetworkUK has said on Twitter it could start from August 28.

Once Black Ops 6 is in players' hands, the team will be able to tweak Omnimovement when needed, especially since Miller is expecting particularly skilled players to figure out ways of exploitin??g the mechanic: "We’re going to continue to tweak as we get different skill levels, really good players. People who’ll find ways to exploit it. We want that, so that we can just continue to polish it."

It will be interesting to see if Omnimovement proves so popular with fans that Activision will want to see it present in whatever Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games, the other two major CoD developers, work on next. There is precedent for this; the Zombies mode in Treyarch's Call of Duty: World at War was such a hit that it's not only a mainstay of the Black Ops games, but it was also included in Sledgehammer's Call of Duty: Vanguard and Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 3. There's also Prestige Mode, which was introduced in the original Modern Warfare from 2007 and would go on to appear in almost every mainline CoD game ever since (though it was ironically absent in the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot).

It's Sunday, and Microsoft is taking the stage to unveil everything it?'s got for the future of Xbox. It's one of the largest showcases? this weekend at Summer Game Fest in Los Angeles, and it's certainly going to set the tone for Xbox moving forward into late 2024 and beyond.

This showcase arrives amid a tumultuous time for Xbox as a whole. Though it's finally secured its ??acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Xbox has also gone through a streak of layoffs and studio closures in the last few months. And on top of that, the Xbox? brand is looking to expand beyond its own box, moving some of its games to other platforms.

Today's show is a unified showcase, almost easy to see as a solidification of ??the new face of Xbox.? So what happened today? Here's every game shown during the Xbox Games Showcase 2024.

• We start with a teaser for Call of Duty Black Ops 6, tackling clandestine operations and warfare once again. We'll hear more about that later, during the CoD portion of the stream.
• Phil Spencer appears for the first time, to introduce the world premiere of Doom: The Dark Ages, a medieval-style Doom arriving in 2025. It's got dragons! Honestly, Doomguy in the dark ages really works.

• Next up, Undead Labs shows a cinematic look at State of Decay 3. It looks to still prioritize the "surviving together" community aspects, as well as the little stories of survivors in the zombie apocalypse. No date, but day one with Game Pass.
• BioWare arrives with a look at the freshly renamed Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Formerly known as Dreadwolf, this look showed off a bunch of the companions we can expect to see, and likely romance. Plus, it's got a Fall 2024 release window now.
• Starfield is getting its Shattered Space expansion sometime this year, and we got a little tease for that. But there's also some additional content coming tonight, for those eager to explore new sights and sounds in space ASAP.
• Bethesda keeps the ball rolling with Fallout 76's Skyline Valley update on June 12. Love the rendition of "Oh Shenandoah".

• It's world premiere time once again. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 from Sandfall and Kepler might have just stolen the show for me, a fascinating new RPG with an intriguing style, combat system, and more. Plus, that was definitely Shadowheart VA Jennifer English. It's planned for 2025, and I'm keeping an eye on it.
• Back to the Xbox studios, Compulsion Games is showing off a look at South of Midnight, its next game after We Happy Few. The southern folklore vibes are really something cool to see play out. It's definitely a third-person action-adventure game, but I think the style and concept are really going to be what makes or breaks this, and I dig it so far. Its arriving sometime in 2025.
• Time for Blizzard, to talk about World of Warcraft. August 26 is when The War Within. It's a big moment for WoW and the first expansion since the takeover. WoW-heads will certainly be looking to see what the MMO looks like under Microsoft.
• The Metal Gear Solid 3 remake shows up and shows off some gameplay. It looks decent, and though I think the original is still an incredibly playable game in the modern age, I'm curious to see how a remake approaches it. No date for that.

• Sea of Thieves shows off some of its 13th season, going live on July 25. Honestly, good for Rare. It's nice to see this game still thriving.
• Flintlock The Siege of Dawn arrives on July 18, 2024. It's an interesting-looking setting, and I'm curious to see how it's received.
• Age of Mythology is an underrated part of the Age series, and its getting retold on September 4, 2024 for both Xbox Series and PC.
• Oh, it's Perfect Dark, and we're not just getting a cinematic. We've got a surprisingly in-depth look at the gameplay of this new entry in the series, from free-running to gadgets, and of course some guns too. It's got a great spy-thriller vibe to it, almost reminding me of the modern Mission: Impossible run. No date, but it looks great.
• Head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty takes the stage to recap what we've seen so far, and then introduce Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred. We get to see the intro cinematic, which is frankly haunting. It arrives October 8, 2024.
• Here's Playground Games, with a look at Fable. It's looking pretty good so far, as the team shows off adventuring and a little bit of combat. It's aiming for 2025.

• Fragpunk looks like a competitive shooter with some card-based world-shifting abilities. Seems neat? It's a crowded market out there for shooters, but maybe the cards can be an X-factor. It's aiming for 2025.
• Aw, a little mouse game! It looks adventurous but cozy, and is probably activating the neurons of anyone who ever read Redwall growing up. Winter Burrow is coming 2025 and looks delightful.
• Another tonal shift, to an adventure game with some summer vacation coming-of-age vibes. This feels like an attack on a generation, personally, with a host of incredible artists locked in. Mixtape is arriving in 2025.
• Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 arrives on November 19, 2024 and sure looks gorgeous. I'm happy for all the aircraft aficionados who are getting to live out their beautiful airborne dreams.
• Bethesda is back, with some Elder Scrolls Online news. All DLC is going to be free for a limited time. Neat!
• Oh hey, it's Life is Strange! Double Exposure is a new Max Caulfield adventure arriving on October 29, 2024, where she solves the murder of her friend across two realities. It looks incredible, and I'm really curious to see how they handle returning to a protagonist like this.

• It's Indy time. We're getting a new look at Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, the MachineGames first-person adventure. It looks and sounds gorgeous, and they're really nailing the feel of the movies. Still no date, but it is aimed for sometime in 2024.
• Here's Mecha Break from Amazing Seasun Games, a mecha battler with tons of high-octane goodness. It's arriving in 2025, though a beta is set for August 2024.
• Wuchang Fallen Feathers is a dark fantasy, Souls-y looking game. We've got a variety of looks and inspirations, and seems to be all about killing monsters. You can hunt some of your own monsters in 2025.
• Still hungry for more fantasy adventure? Obsidian's Avowed is looking pretty good, and it's still targeting 2024. Honestly, this was a much better showing than previous ones, and I'm starting to get drawn into this world.
• I'm not sure exactly how to describe Atomfall. Destructoid's own Zoey Handley says of it: "it looks like absolutely everything." It's first-person, with a smattering of different visuals and ideas. It'll hit in 2025, if you want to see what everything looks like.
• Here's a teaser for Assassin's Creed Shadows, which we'll doubtless be hearing more about tomorrow at the Ubisoft Forward. I'm enjoying the dual protagonist concept though, and AC really feels at home in this Japanese setting. It's set for November 15, and I'm down for it.
• STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is showcasing some gameplay and looks excellent. This game has had a long and troubled development to the real-life situation in Ukraine, and it's heartwarming to see them bring this project to life. It's set for September 5, 2024.
• Xbox president Sarah Bond is here to announce new digital-only Xbox Series X, as well as expanded colorways for the Xbox Series line.

• It's time for one more thing, and surprise, it's Gears of War: E-Day. Seems like a prequel entry in the series.

That's it for the Xbox portion, though the Call of Duty portion of the showcase is going live as I ?type this. Honestly, a solid showing, and I wouldn't be surprised to see this touted as Xbox tryin??g to right the ship after making so many cuts.

We'll see how t??????????????????????????hese games pan out as we head into 2025, but there are at least some big banner-bearing titles on the horizon for Xbox.

Treyarch finally confirmed an official release date and pre-order details for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Here is everything you need to know about pu??rchasing the upcoming title early.

Amid rumors and speculation, Activision opened up and gave fans a good idea of what to expect from Black Ops 6. The campaign is set in the early 90s??, following the Cold War, and is a spy thriller about the rise of the United States as a global superpower. As for multiplayer, the game mode features 16 new maps at launch, including 12 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that support 2v2 or 6v6 matches. And round-based zombies is back, including two new maps at launch, and more promised to come in future updates.

Activision has announced on its blog today that it is forming Elsewhere Entertainment, a new studio that will focus on a new narrative-based “genre-defining�AAA franchise. We don’t know what that fran?chi??se will be, nor what genre it will be defining, but we do know it will be headquartered in Warsaw, Poland.

Activision states that the developer will be “built from the ground up�and will establish “an environment that inspires bold and diverse ideas.�The team will consist of “storytelling experts�who have worked on such franchises as �em>The Last of Us, Uncharted, The Witcher, Cyberpunk, Destiny, Tom Clancy’s The Division, and Far Cry.�That’s a lot of storytelling experts.

It’s hard not to be cynical about a studio established by a company whose parent just shut down a handful of talented studios. It sounds like, “Why are you buying a Mercedes when you just defaulted on your last car loan?�/p>

“Elsewhere is opening its search for best-in-class talent from across the indus??try,�the release says. Yeah, I think you might know a few people who are now looking for work.

I know that it’s never quite that simple, but it just seems really galling for Activision to trumpet its founding of a AAA studio so soon while Microsoft keeps making huge cuts across its subsidiaries.

Hopefully, Elsewhere Entertainment will do well. I don’t know what “narrative-based�means to an executive and “genre-defining�is nothing but PR speak, but at least I don’t see the words “live service.�/p>

Remember the burst assault rifle Warzone meta from a few years back? People were using the M16 and AUG like it was nobody's business. Fortunately, their incredibly high damage output was nerfed into the ground, leaving us with a few fairly useless weapons for a long time. However, a new conversion kit turns the M16 into a fully automatic assault rifle. Here's how to build the automatic M16 loadout for Warzone, which also received a buff recently.

How to get the JAK Patriot conversion kit for the M16

First and foremost, you'll need to unlock the JAK Patriot conversion kit for the M16 assault rifle. Without it, the gun isn't viable in Warzone. The fastest way to unlock it is by focusing on the weekly challenges in multiplayer. However, if you don't own Modern Warfare 3 or just don't want to play regular multiplayer, there are weekly challenges for Warzone and Zombies game modes too.

Simply co??mplete five of the eight available weekly challenges for the current week (6) of Season 3. Once you've done that, the JAK Patriot will be available when you go to?? create an M16 loadout.

Best fully automatic M16 loadout

Once you've equipped the JAK Patriot, the other attachments are ones you might know by now. Many meta-builds for guns use similar attachments, as they're significantly better than others. However, the best full-auto M16 class uses an alternate ammunition type, which is unusual. You can also swap out the ?under barrel for an optic if you don't like the iron sights, as the recoi?l isn't too bad.

One new feature that may have slipped under your radar with the recent Season 3 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are the weapon prestige camos. Thes?e new camos are unlockable in-game by anyone, not for purchase. So when you see someone with a shiny gold-leafed gun you've never seen before, here's how to unlock it yourself.

How to get weapon prestige camos unlocked

Weapon prestige camos in Modern Warfare 3 are unlocked by doing one thing: using a gun a lot. The only way to get the one available camo right now is to earn a tremendous amount of XP with a single weapo?n. Doing so will unlock the camo just for that weapon. Unfortunately, that means you'll have to earn that XP repeatedly for every weapon you want the camo on.

The 'One Trick' gold camo can be found and tracked under the 'Weapon Prestige' tab while viewing a weapon's camo options. It's unlocked by completing a challenge, which is to earn 150,000 weapon XP. Though it sounds like a lot, if you play the game fairly often and always use the same weapon, it won't take too long. Unlocking it for every ??other weapon, however, might be a bit of a grind.

Can you unlock the classified weapon prestige camos?

While viewing the weapon prestige camos for a weapon, you?? can see there are a few more listed. Th??ough each one is blocked out with 'Classified' written over it. When hovering over each of these options, it says they'll become available in future seasons. It looks like we'll get a single weapon prestige camo per season, as one says Season 4, another Season 5, and so on.

For now, the One Trick weapon prestige camo is the only one you can earn by getting 150,000 XP per weapon. XP is earnable faster by completing challenges with the weapon of your choosing, which includes challen??ges for other camos on each weapon, if you don't already have them all.

Finally, the reign of the HRM-9 as the Warzone meta SMG is over. It's been a while since we had the opportunity to use just ?about anything else. Now, there are a few options, though most prefer the Striker-9, the WSP-9 is also viable. It's got mobility, close-range damage, and is shockingly accurate. The recent buffs it received made it one of the best options.

The WSP-9 received a buff in Call of Duty Warzone

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone recently underwent their midseason 'Reloaded' update for Season 3. With it came a large number of changes to guns, including nerfing the Warzone meta weapons for the last few months. However, the underrated and underutilized WSP-9 also received a small buff, and it's one o?f the best close-range options in battle royale and Resurgence game modes.

According to the developer patch notes, the WSP-9's sprint-to-fire time was decreased from 110 ms to 66 ms, a 44% decrease. In other words, you'll be able to pull it up and shoot more quickly than before while on the ??move. That's exactly what you need in a versatile SMG.

How to build the best WSP-9 loadout for Warzone

As for the loadout, it isn't anything out of the ordinary for the WSP-9. Many builds require similar attachments, but the WSP-9 really doesn't need any help with recoil control. Instead, most ?of these items focus on mobility and damage output, making it excellent in nearly all situations.

• JAK Glassless Optic or optic of your choosing

If you're not a fan of the Striker meta, or just want another SMG option in your ar??senal, this WSP-9 loadout is the perfect option. Flying around Rebirth Island with this lightweight mobility gun is always fun for you slide-cancel fie??nds.

If you aren't familiar, the KV Broadside is a shotgun in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. It's not that special to be honest, just a regular shotgun that's good up close and not-so-good from further away, as you'd expect. However, there's a new conversion kit that turns the shotgun into a battle rifle, making it fu??lly automatic and giving it much better range.

Using the conversion kit doesn't change the ammo type, so you'll still have to stow away shotgun ammo to use it. Additionally, it only comes with 20 rounds per magazine, which is quite low for taking on four-person squads in Warzone. For playing trios, duos, or solos, howeve?r, it's more than enough. Especially when you see how quickly the gun actually kills.

Six shots to kill in the body, with even f??ewer depending on how many headshots you hit on a fully-plated enemy. Since the gun is fully automatic, that is a very fast time-to-kill that's worth using. It's not the best for very long distance fights, but close-to-mid-range is the Broadside's bread and butter.

We'd recommend this build for Resurgence game modes, as regular battle royale requires too? much long-range shooting.

Activision has continually attempted to one itself by creating more ambitious cosmetic items, and CoD Mobile looks like it's continuing to push t??he bo??undaries further than anyone thought was possible.

The CoD Mobile devs introduced the MG42 as a new weapon in Season 4 and confirmed?? "Witch Warden" as a Mythic skin for the new LMG. Activision revealed that the weapon features an anima??ted miniature battlefield across its body, and an exclusive song was created by the legendary composer Hans Zimmer for the camo.

Players still have to wait before the Mythic gets added to the store, but a CoD Mobile leak provided a sneak-peek at what the miniature battlefield weapon inspection animation looks like. In the video shared, the weapon inspection animation features a fully animated cutscene depicting a short snippet of war in which a squadron falls in battle. The cutscene is accompanied by the new Hans Zimmer song, voice lines, and an animation that shows a picture of the fallen squad. CoD Mobile pl?ayers were blown away that the devs were able to put all of this on a weapon for an inspection animation.

"Inspection animation got a whole cinematic Cutscene," replied one user. That isn't to say this remarkable cosm?etic item doesn't come without pitfalls. The animation takes about 30 seconds to play all the way through, making you an easy target while you are staring at your weapon during a match.

"While you're doing that, they've already killed you 50 times," a second player joked. It's unclear when Activision plans to add this cosmetic item to CoD Mobile. Season 4 recently kicked off on April 10, and the devs did not reveal in the announcement blog when this new Mythi?c will get added.

Former Call of Duty League pro and Challengers player Bryan ‘Jimbo�Sabman attempted to r??eturn to competitive act?ion after getting banned for cheating, but league officials stepped in before he had a chance.

On April 17, The Rotation reported that Jimbo would return for the upcoming Challengers Cup this weekend and allegedly was given approval to play by FACEIT. CoD content creator Xensterr called out the league for allowing him to participate in matches. "Call of Duty League failed to speak about the situation when he got banned on LAN. They should do us a favor and ban the cheater again from any type of competitive play," Xensterr responded.

In response, Blizzard Entertainment senior manager Spencer Peterson confirmed, "No story here, he’s not eligible to participate." Additionally, The Rotation added that FACEIT admins have now also ruled that ??Jimbo is ineligible to compete in Challengers.

This saga started back in June 2023, when Jimbo's account was banned mid LAN match for cheating. As seen in the image provided, there was a message in the bottom-left hand corner of the players' screen showing a ban message. In the aftermath, The Rotation confirmed that Orbit was forfeited from Challengers C??hamps. Jimbo, GRVTY, Gio, and Classic would have moved down to the loser’s bracket but instead headed home early. Jimbo hasn't competed in CoD match since that incident, and it doesn't appear that the league plans on giving him a second chance any time soon??.
