Anime Reborn Unit Tier List - Update 2

Overall Tier List

Story Mode Tier List

Infinite Mode Tier List

In the tier lists above, we ranked all the units based on their overall utility across all game modes. Unit strength compared to others of the same rarity was also taken into account. For more detail on why we ranked each unit the way we did, scroll down to the unit summaries.

Anime Reborn Unit Summaries

Meta Support Anime Reborn Units

  • Time King â€?Time King's insane placement cost makes him virtually unusable in short game modes. However, he is definetly meta for Infinite as his DPS, range, and 55% slow passive on all enemies in his range are OP. Plus, he has an active that completely stops all enemies for several seconds.
  • Speedcart â€?Speedcart is an expensive farm unit, and it is absolutely necessary for Infinite. Plus, he gives a 15% upgrade cost reduction to the first 5 units placed in his range.
  • Yano â€?Yano applies a virtually permanent 50% slow on everything it touches, making him one of the most meta supports in Anime Reborn. He is also a hybrid with multi-hit attacks and buffs for his wind allies.
  • Yamo â€?Yamo is a support/DPS unit that synergizes extremely well with Osta and other meta Dark units. His main trait is that he buffs Dark-type units in range with +35% DMG and all units with +15% Crit Rate and +15% Crit DMG. His DPS is solid as well.
  • Lucky One â€?Lucky One stuns enemies with each attack for 3 seconds and also gains stats when he recovers from stun. He is pretty meta as a support, but as a DPS, he isn't that good.
  • Bulba â€?Bulba is a cheap money-farm unit. She is a must for any short-game mode.

Support Anime Reborn Units

  • Darkbeard â€?Darkbeard is one of the meta supports in Anime Reborn. He is full AoE when maxed out and slows enemies with his attacks. The only downside is that his upgrades are fairly expensive.
  • Nonomi â€?Nonomi is a support unit that increases enemy DMG taken by 35%. He can give you that extra bit of DPS that you'll need against bosses, but otherwise, he isn't that amazing.
  • Water Goddess â€?Water Goddess is a range-buffing support who can also deal respectable damage against regular mobs. She is also an okayish shield-breaker.
  • Ruki â€?Ruki is the best legendary support unit on placement in Anime Reborn. She freezes enemies due to her passive and has pretty solid DPS.
  • Killa â€?Killa is a support unit with a stun and pretty good SPA. However, Ruki and Darkbeard seem to outperform him. He can also target air on max upgrades, which is very useful if you don't have a legendary who can do that.

S+ Tier Anime Reborn Units

  • Mercury â€?Mercury's passive ignores enemy element damage debuffs, allowing him to perform no matter what mode you use him in. He has a line AoE attack, broken and DPS, and also summons that scale with damage. He is pretty meta right now.
  • Dragon Emperor â€?Dragon Emperor is a meta full AoE hybrid unit with extremely high stats and also a support passive when evolved. The only downside is that grinding for him can be really annoying.
  • Delta Brothers â€?Delta Brothers are by far the best shield-breaker of all secret units, with a hybrid line attack and good DMG/SPA scaling passives. Plus, they have a full AoE ability (300-second cooldown), which is great for dealing with mobs.
  • King Rimura â€?King Rimura is pretty solid for Infinite due to its scaling passives and good overall DPS. However, it doesn't have full AoE like Twenty One and Dragon Emperor.
  • Twenty One â€?Twenty One is full AoE (on max upgrade, she loses it but gains range) and has insane stats. Plus, she is a hill unit and can literally solo-carry you in most modes. It's definitely one of the most meta units in Anime Reborn.
  • Light â€?Light is a hybrid (6th upgrade) unit with full AoE when evolved and summons. Plus, he buffs other Light units in range with +20% DMG. He is pretty meta, especially if you can get Miracle on him.
  • Pikkora Yellow â€?Pikkora Yellow is full AoE when you evolve him and also has a buffing passive for other units. He is great overall, though he can only target ground enemies.
  • Osta â€?Osta is the meta shield-breaker in Anime Reborn right now. His attacks instantly break shields, and he can't be CCd by boss attacks. Also, when Yamo is within his range, he gets +20% DMG and -5% SPA, along with Yamo's buffs. The only downside is that he targets only ground.
  • Greybeard â€?Greybeard is one of the few full AoE non-secret units, and his range is amazing. Plus, he is a hybrid, removing the need for a hill unit, and he gets stun when evolved. He is definitely meta right now.
  • Gohun â€?Gohun is a hybrid exclusive unit with immunity to stuns and ramping damage as he kills units during waves. Plus, he has a multihit line AoE attack with a really good DPS and extremely low SPA.

S Tier Anime Reborn Units

  • Hawk Eyes â€?Haw Eyes gets +100% DMG against bosses (+250% when evolved) from his passive, making him the best boss-killer in Anime Reborn. Plus, his cone AoE attack and low SPA make him a solid mob killer as well.
  • Itaha â€?Itaha applies burn and has excellent DPS and range. He is extremely good for dealing with mobs and can also kill bosses if you don't have Hawk Eyes yet. Plus, he is a hybrid unit.
  • Brolio â€?Brolio is a hybrid unit with full AoE when evolved and pretty good DPS and range. Plus, his passive increases his damage as he attacks, making him OP for Infinite.
  • Noille â€?Noille is a hill mythic unit with cheap placement and fairly good DPS. She also gets +100% yen from kills, making her a solid secondary farm unit. However, her line AoE attack as a hill unit is crippling for her overall DPS.
  • Oda â€?Oda has a big AoE attack on max upgrades and solid stats all around. His crit-buffing passive is also nice. However, he isn't the best mythic to get, as he can't target air like most others.
  • Super Gohu â€?Super Gohu is a hill unit that is actually really handy and has pretty good DPS. However, his line attack and garbage passive cripple him.
  • Payne â€?Payne is a support/DPS mythic who can stun enemies every 4 attacks. He is also full AoE, but his DPS is lackluster. Generally, there are better options both in terms of DPS and utility.
  • Yune Gossi â€?Yune Gossi is an exclusive unit with a ground line AoE attack that has multi-hit. She is a pretty solid shield-breaker, and she also has bleed, making her extremely useful against enemies with regen.
  • Sun Prodigy [Blazing] â€?Sun Prodigy [Blazing] is an AR early-access exclusive unit. He has burn, okay DPS, and 4 max placements. Use him until you get more mythics.

A Tier Anime Reborn Units

  • Kuzar â€?Kuzar is one of the best DPS/shield-breaking legendaries in Anime Reborn, with extremely low SPA and solid range. He is excellent as a starter.
  • Droid 18 â€?Droid 18 is an ultra-cheap legendary hill unit with pretty respectable DPS. However, she doesn't have a slow passive like Uriu.
  • Jonas â€?Jonas is a hybrid DPS/shield-breaking unit with burn in his kit. He is pretty solid, though there are a few better legendaries you can use.
  • Uriu â€?Uriu's stats aren't the best, and the 25% chance of slow on her passive is just too low. Still, she is a hill unit and can be useful if you have nothing else that can target air.
  • Gurdon â€?Gurdon applies a Poison DoT with his attacks that lasts for up to 25 seconds. He is by far the best of the Black Clover legendaries but still underperforms as a DPS.
  • Zenit â€?Zenit is the best starter epic unit in Anime Reborn, as he has full AoE on placement. Don't upgrade him much because he loses full AoE with his second attack.
  • Red Boss â€?Red Boss is the cheapest epic DPS, and he is pretty useful if you're just starting out.
  • Neja â€?Neja is extremely bad on placement, but on max upgrades, he is probably the best epic unit, with full AoE, good range, and fairly good DPS.

B Tier Anime Reborn Units

  • Boulder Lee â€?Boulder Lee is full AoE on max upgrades, making him one of the best legendary units for Infinite. However, upgrading him fully in shorter modes might be hard.
  • Leo â€?Leo applies a Burn DoT with his attacks and he is an okayish shield breaker. However, his SPA and DPS are overall bad, making him a suboptimal choice compared to other legendary units.
  • Magma â€?Magma is basically the same as Leo. The difference in their DPS and performance is fairly small, making them interchangable.
  • Yaske â€?Yaske has good DPS and range, but he is still worse than most other legendaries in AR.
  • Vegoto â€?The increased range Vegoto gets from his passive is nice but not enough to make him a viable pick.
  • Sensei â€?Sensei is relatively okay DPS epic unit with low SPA and good range. He doesn't have any useful passive or full AoE like other epics to make him stand out.
  • Heyey â€?Heyey has relatively low range and damage, making him one of the worst epic units in Anime Reborn.
  • Inoke â€?Inoke is pretty similar to Heyey and is also among the worst epics.
  • Sijin [PTS] â€?Sijin [PTS] is by far the best rare unit in AR and the only one worth using. He is full AoE with burn on his attacks and amazing range. Plus, he has 6 max placements and can carry you through quite a few early stages.
  • Pun â€?Pun doesn't have AoE like Sijin, but his passive allows him to stack damage and range with more Puns placed within range. Plus, his placement is extremely cheap, making him an excellent beginner unit.

C Tier Anime Reborn Units

  • Ihigo â€?Ihigo has a good range and DPS, and he can also target air. He is probably the best hybrid unit you can get right when you start Anime Reborn.
  • Laugfy [PTS] â€?Luagfy [PTS] has a cone AoE attack and is arguably the best of the default units you can pick when you log in for the first time.
  • Noroto â€?Noroto gets increased damage for every other Noroto in range. As far as rare units go, he is actually viable.
  • Mr. Set â€?Mr. Set has a cone AoE attack that targets only ground. He is very bad overall.
  • Sukura â€?Sukura is one of the worst rare units. Still, she is somewhat cheap to place.
  • Usog [PTS] â€?Usog is one of the few rare units that can target air. Use him if you really have nothing else.
  • Susake â€?Susake has somewhat okay DPS for a rare unit, but he is still bad.
  • Kurulin â€?Kurulin can target air, making him useful for some early story maps.
  • Zero [PTS] â€?Pretty bad DPS in general. There are other rare units you should use besides Zero.
  • Tin Tin â€?Tin Tin is the worst rare unit in Anime Reborn. The 10% attack increase she gets from her passive is irrelevant.

Now that you've checked out our tier list and learned what's currently meta in Anime Reborn, it's time to start summoning those OP units and get them the best traits!

What are Unit Passives in Anime Reborn?

Mihawk in the Anime Reborn Roblox experience
Image via Anime Reborn YouTube

In Anime Reborn, almost all units except for some rares and epics have passives that give some form of specialization to those units. For example, Greybeard gets increased damage as waves pass, making him great for infinite, while Water Goddess gives other units extra range, making her a support.

Unlike traits, these passive abilities can't be rerolled and are exclusive to those units. There is also no way to upgrade them, though mythicals and secrets can get extra passives through evolution.

And that covers all the unit passives in Anime Reborn. For more content related to this title, including the full list of active AR codes, visit the Roblox category here on Destructoid.

The Dragon Emperor might be one of the best units in the game, but he is also notoriously difficult to get. Here's exactly how to get Kaido in Anime Reborn and make your life a little easier.

How to get Dragon Emperor in Anime Reborn

If you think Android 21 is difficult to get, then Kaido is here to make you feel even worse. As a full AoE unit, he is excellent to have on the team, but grinding for him will take you a while (read forever if you don't have gacha luck, speaki?ng from experience).

You can't get Kaido from a banner, but you can get the Dragon Emperor by playing the Legendary Stage Act 3 of Fujishima. You have a 0,75% chance to get this unit as a drop while clearing the level. It's not impossible, but it's very time-consuming. The easiest way for Kaido to go about farming is to join the Anime Re?born Discord and then find others who are also on the grind for him.

However, if you do plan on soloing, you absolutely must have a Mythic?? on your team, with Hawk Eyes and Greybeard being the best candidates. I have tried going without one, and it didn't go great. If you've also gotten Android 21, she is great to use here, too.

Of course, I never go anywhere without my Ruki. Her freeze has saved me enough time to know she is irreplaceable on my team. And, of course, you can't go anywhere without a money farm unit, whether that be Speedcart or Bulba.

How to evo Dragon Emperor in Anime Reborn

While the regular Dragon Emperor unit is powerful on its own, the evo version just has that little extra kick in it. In order? to evo Kaido in Anime Reb??orn, you first have to collect:

  • Smile Fruit x20
  • Spiked Club x20
  • Fur Coat x1
  • Dragon Fruit x12

The materials that you need to evolve Kaido in Anime Reborn can be acquired through the Fujishima Legendary Stage Acts as well. So, as you are grin??ding for the Dragon Emperor, you will also be grinding for the materials to evo him.

Android 21 is a unit that isn't available on the banner, so you might be wondering ?how to ??get this unit. Here's how to get Android 21 in Anime Reborn and boost your team with one of the best units in the game.

How to get Secret Twenty-One in Anime Reborn

Android 21 is at the top of the Anime Reborn tier list, so this Secret is definitely a unit ??you should have on your team??. Once you upgrade it in a stage, the attack becomes full AoE. She also has a Demon evo version, which you can get, making her even better.

For starters, the only way you can get the secret Twenty-One unit in Anime Reborn is by playing the Legendary Stage Act 2 of West?? City. There is a 0.75% chance that you will get Twe?nty-One, so you are in for the long haul.

If you're just a beginner and don't have a Mythic unit yet, I suggest steering clear of the Legendary stages for the moment. Once you have a great Mythic like Greybeard or Hawk Eyes (and have leveled them? up), you can go and try to clear the Legendary stages, though it might still be a struggle to do solo.

If you are part of the Anime Reborn Discord server, you can check the chats, as there are plenty of people looking for help with grinding for the secret unit. There is a 0.75% chance ??that you will get Twenty-One, so you are in for the long haul.

When it comes to your team, you will need a good strategy since there are many enemies in each wave. Ruki ?is an important unit to bring as she can freeze enemies, allowing you som?e breathing room as you destroy them all. Place her on the inner corners of the bends to give her a larger area of attack.

For those that don't have a Mythic but still want Android 21, you can clear the stage with some clever placement of Zenit and Ruki on corners close together. You can see in the image my placement of them for clearing this stage. You might need ?to add some extra Rukis to catch any stra?ys, but you should be good.

Speedcart is anothe?r great addition to the team for money farming, but you can also go with Bulma if you haven't gotten the legendary unit just yet.

How to Evo Android 21 in Anime Reborn

While this unit is great even in its regular form, Demon Twenty-Two is quite literally a demon. To evo Android 21 in Anime Reborn, you need to get:

  • Orange Star x10
  • Blue Star x10
  • Rainbow Star x2
  • Cupcake x15
  • Red Star x10
  • Purple Star x10
  • Green Star x10

All of these materials can be purchased at Jay's Shop (though I suggest avoiding that and saving Gold for other items), acquired through the Challenges as well as through clearing Legendary Stages. Some of the items can also be crafted in th?e Evolution section, so you don't have to farm everythin??g.

Tower Defense games are some of my favorites, and Anime Reborn hits just the right spot. If you are only now starting out and don't know where to go or what to do first, you can check out our complete beginner's guide for Anime Reborn.

How to Redeem Codes in Anime Reborn

As with most Roblox games, redeeming codes in Anime Reborn is extremely important. Once you are in the lobby of the game, head over down one of the paths near until you see Luffy. You can redeem all Anime Reborn codes by interacting with him in this area.

All Lobby Rewards in Anime Reborn

One of the best part of the Anime Reborn lobby (apart from? looking pretty cool) is all of the rewards you can get while interacting with all of the NPCs. Here's every NPC you can chat to and what they will give you.

  • Trait Reroll NPC - While the Strongest Shaman is where you will go when you get Trait rerolls, Gojo will also give you a Trait Crystal the first time you talk to him as a little treat. w
  • Builders - The Raids section of the game is under construction. Interact with the left builder, who will essentially call you a worm, then interact with the right builder, who will give you smth as an apology for his colleague.
  • Index NPC - As you collect more units, you will gain the XP at the Unit Index NPC. He will give you some great rewards (like gems, Red Stones, and others), so make sure to check him out every once in a while to see if you've leveled up.
  • Level Rewards NPC - Every time you level up, you can appro??ach this NPC and get rewards, which include Gold??, Gems, and Trait Crystals.
  • Mozking - You have to join the group and like the game before you can get this reward. Once you do, interact with Mozking again to get 500 gems and a Trait Crystal.

How to use the Shop in Anime Reborn

Jay's Shop in Anime Reborn refreshes every 12 hours, and you can use gold that you earn from stages to purchase various items. At the start, I suggest buying items to Feed ??your units to get them stronger for clearing all stages and gaining more XP.

Once you've leveled up your most important units, you can start saving the gold for either the Extra Unit Storage (750k Gold) or the VIP access (1.5M), which gives you:

  • 20% summoning discount
  • 2x AFK Chamber gems
  • 2x AFK Chamber trait rerolls
  • 10% XP gain
  • Rainbow VIP name tag

Both of these?? are a long grind, but they will be extremely useful, especially as you progress through the game, open new worlds, and get new units.

Important Units to have on your team in Anime Reborn

A good team setup with quality units will carry you forward through many of the acts and worlds. Money farming units are pretty important (if not the most important), as you always need money for placing down units and upgrading ??them.

You will also want to have good overall Damage units as well as a Boss killer, especially on the more difficult levels. Air units aren't needed for the first world, but you will need them for later, especia?lly on the Land of the Sky so definitely keep and build them.

If you want to know exactly which units to go for from our experience, you can check out our Anime Reborn Units tier list.

Complete Star Quests in Anime Reborn

While you will get rewards just for completing Acts, there is more that you should pay attention to, specifically the Star Quests for each Act. When you select the Act you want to be playing; you will be able to see the three Star Quests you need to complete in order to get Stars.

If you get all three Stars, you will be able to get Trait Crystals for rerolls (which is something you will definitely be?? doing a lot for on your team units). These quests can include clearing a stage in a certain amount of time, bringing in specific units, spending specific amounts of money, and more.

How to enable Auto Upgrades in Anime Reborn

One of the best aspects of the game is that you can somewhat AFK the stages that you are? grinding. Once you've set all of your units down, you can select which one will get auto-upgraded first by clicking the yellow arrow on the right hand of the scree??n.

This will open up a menu that will show all of the available units on the field.? You can click on the Auto button for the unit you want to upgrade first, and the game will do its own thing.

If you want to know even more about the game, check out the Anime Reborn section on Destructoid.

Getting a trait is the first thing you do when you acquire a worthy unit. There are plenty of them in Anime Reborn, but not all are good for you. While luck is the important part of getting the best ones, you still have a choice to make. Our Anime Reborn tier list will help you make the right decision.

Anime Reborn Tier List - All Traits Ranked

Thanks to the traits pity system, you'll get one of the best traits (Mythic or Secret) every 200 rolls. Let's face it: the rarest traits in other Roblox tower defense games are almost impossible to get, so having a pity system in Anime Reborn is a game-changer. Combine them with the best units?? in the game, and you'll become an unstoppable fo?rce.

Tier Traits
S Demon, Ethereal, Heavenly, Miracle, Paladin, Slayer
A Anubis, Exploder, Wealth
B Archer, Agile III, Potential, Warrior III
C Agile II, Sniper II, Sniper III, Warrior II
D Agile I, Sniper I, Sniper II, Warrior I

S Tier - Best Traits in Anime Reborn

S tier is filled with Anime Reborn Mythics and Secrets, which are head and shoulders above all ?other traits. Thanks to Mythic pity, your goal is to equip each unit with a S ?tier trait.

  • Demon - Fantastic combination of damage and SPA.
  • Ethereal - Great combination of regular damage and damage over time. The problem is if the unit doesn't have a DoT attack. In that case, you have an A-tier level trait.
  • Slayer - Offers great damage boost, but similar to Exploder, it doesn't offer much else, making it one of the less interesting Mythicals.
  • Paladin - Arguably the best trait in the game. Provides OP damage buff to allies while giving additional random buffs.
  • Miracle - Stat-wise, this trait offers the most, from damage to buffs, but it comes at a price. You can only place one unit with the Miracle trait on the field. So, if a unit has 4 or 5 placements, this trait limits its effect.
  • Heavenly - excellent support trait that boosts allies' damage. It's not the best Mythical out there, but it is good to have in your squad.

A Tier Traits - Anime Reborn Roblox

  • Anubis - Basically Anime Reborn Agile IV
  • Exploder - Huge damage boost but offers nothing else, which keeps it away from the S tier.
  • Wealth - This trait is usually useless for all non-money units, but Anime Reborn introduces a twist - regular units earn 25% more money from kills. This is especially useful if you don't have a farm unit or want to double down on money income.

B Tier Traits - Borderline Good

  • Archer - Great range, think of it as Sniper IV
  • Agile III - Good attack speed increase, which is helpful if you're just starting the game.
  • Potential - This is a great trait for quick leveling, but it should be replaced later.
  • Warrior III - Nice damage boost, so consider leaving it, especially if the unit you're giving trait to is not less than Legendary.

C Tier Traits - Solid But Nothing More

  • Sniper II & III - Good choices when you need range, but better traits exist.
  • Agile II - Solid range that you'll need in certain modes.
  • Warrior II - Solid DMG boost, but nothing that will stop you from rolling again.

D Tier Traits - Reroll ASAP

  • Warrior I - You can get so much more than 5% damage.
  • Agile I - Being fast is always great, but -5% attack speed is nothing special.
  • Sniper I & II - A small range extension of your attacks doesn't make a difference.
