It’s been a harrowing year for the LGBTQ+ community, not just in the United States, but across the world. It’s been a record year for anti-LGBTQ+ legislation, which ??is immensely depressing.

So, for this very important Pride Month, the itch.io Queer Games Bundle returns with the goal of providing some much-nee??ded funds to LGBTQ+ creators who would often be otherwise overlooked. These are people who just want to make or supplement a living making games, art, and other content, and the bundle gives them some money to do just that.

The Queer Games Bundle describes itself as “A bundle of over 450 games, software, and zines from nearly 300 queer artists across itch.io.�A glance over its immense contents shows everything from more mainstream titles like Raptor Boyfriend: A High School Romance to emotionally charged art games like He Fucked the Girl Out of Me.

The hosts of the bundle are suggesting a $60 all-in price tag, but you?? can pay what you want so long as it’s over $10. Proceeds go to developers who opted-in to get some of the funding.

Note that there is a wide range of topics covered in these games, books, zines, and tabletops, including?? some ?decidedly 18+ things. While wading into uncomfortable territory can nurture empathy and an understanding in your fellow humans, your priority should always be to be kind to yourself, so watch what you load up.

Great games for a good cause

Itch.io is known for its bundles of indie games that raise money for worthy causes, like the Black Lives Matter movement back in 2020 or for Ukraine earlier this year. Now that Roe v. Wade has been overturned, itch.io has turned its sights to creating a bundle of indie games to raise money for abortion funds. The bundle has over 750 items f??rom over 600 creators, valued at around $3000, but you can get it fo??r a minimum donation of $10 (although of course, anything more than that is awesome). As someone w??ho adores indie games, that's the steal of the century if you ask me.

All proceeds of the bundle will go directly towards the National Network for Abortion Fund's Collective Power Fund which, according to the bundle's official page, "moves money directly to abortion funds across 20+ U.S. states, with a particular focus on the South and Midwest (where it is often most difficult to get access to abortions). NNAF’s partnerships with these abortion funds provide direct resources and funds to many of the people most impacte?d by Roe v. Wade, towards immediate action."

From the sounds of it, this is a great way to get started if you're ??looking for a way to support the cause.

As of writing this article, the bundle has already raised over $150,000 of its $200,000 goal, and with over eight days left, I have a feeling it will surpass that number. The Ukraine bundle ended up with more than $6 million going to charity, while the Racial Equality bundle raised a whopping $8.1 million.

Here's hoping that gamers will show up for reproductive rights in the same way, b?ut considering how much the community shows up in times of need, plus what great titles there are on offer, I don't think we have anything to worry about.

Aloy is your No.1 gal once again

Guerrilla Games' gorgeous sequel Horizon Forbidden West has successfully ventured back to the top of?? the UK Charts, reclaiming the number one spot three months on from its initial launch week success.

As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, Aloy's second escapade saw an incredible 94% week-on-week sales increase in the UK territory, driven by the launch of Sony's first official PS5 hardware bundle. The new set, which retails in the UK for a princely £499.99, includes a standard, disc-based PS5 console, a DualSense controller, and a digital copy of the acclaimed adventure. A variant featuring a PS5 Digital is also available, priced at £409.99. Of course, like most PS5 units, the Horizon Forbidden West bundle is already in shor?t supply, both in stores and online.

Elsewhere in the boxed sales charts, Nintendo Switch Sports drops to No.2 after spending three weeks on the throne. Other Nintendo Switch releases dominate the Top Ten, including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Minecraft, and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Perennial chart mainstay Grand Theft Auto 5 sits comfortably in the Top Ten as is its wont, this week positioned at No.7. The only new physical release for last week, Vampire: the Masquerade �Swansong, debuted at No.20, like most modern PlayStation, Xbox, and PC r??eleases, Nacon's gothic adventure will find the majority of its sales o??f the digital variety.

It's important to remember with all the terrible stuff happening abroad right now that there is plenty o??f terrible stuff going on in the United States. You've probably seen the reports of the awful pieces of legislation making t??heir way through state legislatures targeting the LGBTQ community (not to mention all of the legislation being passed targeting how we teach about historic racism in America, which is a whole clusterfuck of itself).

In Florida, we have the "Don't Say Gay" bill, which could create a legal minefield for teachers if discussions of LGBTQ topics come up in class. Big props to Disney for continuing to support the legislators behind it. Arkansas has signed legislation banning trans girls from participating in school sports. Arkansas is also one of the unhealthiest states in the US, so I really don't think they should be discouraging anyone from participating in phys??ical activities.

Finally, we have Texas Governor Greg Abbott. In a truly sick and twisted directive, Abbott has called on members of the public to report parents who are allowing their kids to receive gender-affirming medical care to authorities. This is in accordance with an opinion released by Texas Attorney ??Gen?eral Ken Paxton whic??h claimed su??ch medical treatment amounted to child abuse in the state. Investigations are already underway on parents, though some district attorneys in Texas are refusing to comply and the ACLU and Lambda Legal are currently fighting the directive.

How you can help

Suffice to say, it's a real shitty time to be a member of the LGBTQ community in a red state and that's particularly true for tra??ns individuals. They need help, and right now there is a way you can help raise funds for trans advocacy in Texas by doing what you do anyway: buying a crapload of games.

Right now at itch.io, you can get the TTRPGs for Trans Rights in Texas! bundle. For just $5, you'll get access to 493 items/games, with proceeds going to support the Transgender Education Network of Texas and Organización Latina de Trans en Texas. Both organizations provide assistance to trans individuals in need,? and if Greg Abbott's directive is allowed to continue, there are going to be a lot of trans kids needing help soon.

Now, I don't play tabletop RPGs because I'm a loser with no friends. However, members of the Destructoid team have pointed to Thirsty Sword Lesbians and Princess With a Cursed Sword as being two notable titles from the bundle. Thirsty Sword Lesbians?? normally asks for $15 to purchase, but again, you can get it and h?undreds of other tabletop games for as little as $5.

The TTRPGs for Trans Ri??ghts in Texas! bundle will be available at itch.io until Sunday, April 3.

After receiving an absolute outpouring of responses from the internet, Itch.io has finally released its latest indie game bundle, consisting of 1,020 games by 865 creators. What started as a simple call to developers to add games to a Palestini?an food/medical relief bundle soon grew?? into the behemoth we are presented with now.

All of the money is being donated to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, which provides "food assistance for over one million Palestinians, and continues to do so in the territories with heavy destruction" and "emergency mental and physical health protection for those in the region," according to the Itch.io forum post.

The headliner title for this bundle encapsulates the horror of the situation in Palestine, titled Liyla and The Shadows Of War. Created by Rasheed Abueideh, a Palest?inian, the game?? is based on true and devastating events that occur in Gaza due to the war with Israel. This is definitely first on my to-play list in the bundle.

As for other games I'm looking forward to playing, I noticed Calico and Cook, Serve, Delicious 2 are on the list and both have been in my sights for a while. There's also a SUPERHOT and Baba is You crossover game called SUPER IS HOT that absolutely has my attention.

Some recognizably big names are Minit, Nuclear Throne, Signs of the Soujourner, Anodyne, and Orwell. Want some hidden gems? Play Sandstorm, And All Would Cry Beware!, Fit for a King, and ART SQOOL. For more suggestions from someone who isn't me, check out Colin Spacetwinks or Dominic Tarason's suggestions on Twitter.

Considering the bundle is only a five-dollar minimum, there is no good reason to pass this up! The bundle will run until June 11, so get buying!

Dishonored, Prey, and Wolfenstein

Microsoft has owned Bethesda for two weeks now -- at least that's how long it has been since the announcement -- and we're already seeing the effects of the new leadership. (In actuality, maybe Bethesda does some or all of this on its own, but it's too tempting to ascribe all developments as Microsoft's mandate from up high.) It seems like one of the first moves, apart from getting Doom Eternal on Game Pass, is ??to group together a bunch of last-gen games into high-value bundles.

Thanks to another ESRB leak (and this is really too easy lately with the "Recently Rated Games" tab), we've learned of two upcoming Bethesda bundles for Xbox Series X. One is The Arkane Collection which features four games. The most likely candidates are Dishonored, Dishonored 2, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, and Prey.

There's a similar situation with MachineGames' recent projects. There's a Wolfenstein Alt History Collection which also bundles four games. Those have to be Wolfenstein: The New Order, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and Wolfenstein: Young Blood.

Assuming a $60 price point, that's a whole lot of video game in each collection. Or, thinking optimistically, maybe Microsoft is bundling these to add to Xbox Game Pass all together. None of this has been formally revealed yet, so we'll have to wait to find out what Microsoft's intentions are. But, as misguided as Bethesda has seemed with properties like Fallout, the games mentioned in these lists make up some of the publisher's best? efforts over the past 10 years or so. They're fine candidates for the bundle t??reatment.

Over 130,000 bundles sold

Sales are now closed on Humble Bundle's Fight for Racial Justice Bundle, which offered a selection of more than 50 titles for a minimum of $30. In one week, the bund??le succeeded in raising an incredible $4 million USD, to be distributed among appropriate charities.

The Humble Fight for Racial Justice Bundle included games Hyper Light Drifter, NBA 2K20, Observer, Neo Cab, Baba is You, Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed, System Shock 2 and Super Time Force Ultra, among others. Also featured were a range of e-books, including Black Women in Science, RESIST!, Six Days in Cincinnati, Twelve Years a Slave, Yo Miss, and Black History in Its Own Words.

In just seven days, total sales of the bundle passed 130,000. All of the proceeds raised are to be split between three racial justice charities: The NAACP Legal Defense Fund; educational and analytical organisation Race Forward; and The Bail Project.

Over 800,000 total donations

Donations are now closed on itch.io's Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality, which offered an incre??dible selection of PC software for a minimum of just five dollars. As of this writing, the bundle closed out at an incredible total of $8.1 million USD, raised from just over 814,000 donations.

Launching a little over a week ago with an initial goal of $5 million, the software compendium continued to grow in size as momentum increased, eventually offering over 1,700 games, tools, soundtracks, and visual novels by the campaign's final hours. This included great titles such as Celeste, Octodad, A Short Hike, Oxenfree, Wheels of Aurelia, Nuclear Throne, Runner3, Arcade Spirits, Lancer, Gnog, Minit, and hundreds more. The ??average donation was a little over 10 bucks, while the single biggest donation was a huge $5,000.

The money raised will now be split evenly between two organisations: The NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, and the Community Bail Fund. A secondary bundle, The Black Lives Matter Support Bundle, is still live on itch.io for one more day, and is just $1,500 shy of reaching its $100,000 goal.

In an incredible show of community spirit, the itch.io Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality has amassed an astounding $6 million USD in total donations since its launch just over one week ago. Still available over on the itch.io website, the ever-expanding bundle currently offers over 1,500? games, soundtracks, and visual novels for a minimum donation of $5 USD.

Obviously, it would be simply impossible to list all of the content contained within this mammoth package, but the bundle includes such gems as Nuclear Throne, Runner3, Celeste, Octodad, A Short Hike, Pikuniku, Minit, A Mortician's Tale, Wheels of Aurelia, Bleed 2 and?? hundreds upon hundreds of other games, VNs, and ??tools from a wide variety of genres.

All you need do is meet the minimum donation to gain access to the entire catalogue, available to download direct from itch.io as individual, DRM-free executable files. All of the money raised will be split evenly between The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and the Community Bail Fund. Having absolutely smashed its initial $5 million USD goal, there is still plenty of time to push t?he tota?l even higher before the campaign ends Tuesday, June 16.

The indie storefront does all they can for a righteous cause

The list of games is growing by the day with newcomers like Nuclear Throne, Runner3, Gnog, Octodad, Long Gone Days, and Celeste. With a $5 donation, you'll get over a thousand PC games, many of which are single-handedly worth more than the five-dollar mini??mum. It's a lifetime's backlog in one bundle.

The team says it's "working on updating the UI to make it easi??er to browse." Next up? $5M.]

We a??????????????????????????re at a crossroads in America with regard to racial injustice. To say that we have seen enough of unwarranted minority deaths at the hands of our justice system would be an understatement. The time for change has come and we are seeing multiple people - and companies - stepping up to grab the bull of oppression by the horns and say "no more."

Indie PC storefront and all-around great website itch.io is not letting this moment pass by withou??t doing their part to help. Currently, on the site, there are (at least) two bundles going that aim to? bring money and eyes to causes that need capital and exposure.

For those of you who like to have their games on Steam, there is the Black Lives Matter Support Bundle. Boasting up to 20 games with a minimum entry of 20 dollars, the bundle includes one of my favorite under-the-radar titles of Chambara, a two-tone multiplayer where you use the environment to blend into the world and sneakily kill your opponent. All of the money raised from this bundle will go towards the Black Lives Matter foundation.

If you aren't bound to Steam (and you shouldn't be), then the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality is the one that you'll want to jump in on. For a minimum of five dollars, you will get access to quite literally more games than I can list here. You will have to go through the list and manually activate them so they are assigned to your account, after which? you can download DRM-free executables through the site or itch.io app.

There are a total of 743 games included with this bundle, all included with the base tier. Recent indie darlings such as Oxenfree, A Mortician's Tale, and Night in the Woods are some of the games included, with one of my all-time favorite torture devices Super Hexagon along for the?? ride as well. I can't even begin to crack how many games are here and I'll likely be perusing through this list for a few days.

Of course, it's recommended that you donate more than the base limit. It seems that many already have, with the average donation looking to be around $15 the time of writing and the top donation being $2,000. Even that is a steal as the price of this bundle if bought individually is $3.5K. As of writing, the bundle has already made a total $170,000, to be split between the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and the Community Bail Fund.

While this isn't something you should w?ait on, the Black Lives Matter bundle will be available through June 17, while the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality will run through the early morning hours of June 15.

Digital Direct

As digital distribution rose to prominence, that's the direction console bundles went. Cheaper than manufacturing a physical product, buying a new Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch often means one or more codes to redeem for games. In the grand scheme, it's fine; t??aking 30 seconds to punch in a string of random digit?s is a little clumsy but it gets the job done.

Xbox has a solution that's far more elegant. When setting up a new Xbox, users will be prompted to claim whatever came bundled with their purchase. Games, subscriptions, DLC -- all of it is tied to the console and available as part of those first steps during?? setup. Microsoft calls this "Digital Direct," a name that seems perfectly apropos. Microsoft also warns that the content will be entitled to the first account that redeems it, so don't jump the gun and grant it to whichever account does the initial setup.

There's an obvious major drawback to Digital Direct. Users seemingly no longer have the option of selling pack-in codes they have no interest in. That's content that is forever bound to the console, whether redeemed or not. (Of lesser importance, if not redeemed in the setup process, the content hides in a sub-menu called "Included with this Xbox" unde???r the Account tab or alongside the offers in "Full Library.")

Otherwise, it's a neat quality of life thing that makes owning a new Xbox a little? more intuitive. (So was scanning QR codes with Kinect, RIP.) Considering how many non-gaming folks are probably setting up new consoles for the first time, punching in 25-digit codes is probably confusing and inefficient at first. This should change that.

Launching in June

Yesterday, there was a shaky-but-realistic leak about a Cyberpunk 2077 limited edition Xbox One X. One of the pieces of evidence supporting it was that Xbox.com redirected to a fake site takeover, a Cyberpunk-seeming hacker message sayi??ng to?? check back on Monday, April 20.

Thanks to a group of diligent sleuths, the case has been cracked three days early. There was an associated ARG that people found, and it has been solved in approximately 24 hours. This reddit thread is a decent aggregation of some of the steps in the ARG, which included transposing invalid IP addresses into Cyberpunk 2077 tweets and gleaning info from this weird Dark Future blog.

The result is the video that's embedded above. It confirms the limited edition Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X and controller, which will launch in June. No price has been attached, and it's unclear whether the bundle comes with a pack-in pre-order code for Cyberpunk 2077 which is scheduled to release ??on September 17.

Despite solving the ARG well ahead of schedule, a common refrain in the YouTube comments and the Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit is that the reveal wasn't worth the effort. Most of these people seemed to have their hopes pinned on finding a new gameplay video -- especially considering Cyberpunk 2077 was originally set to launch yesterday. Getting a limited edition console trailer didn't live up to the hype, no matter how good that Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X and controller look.

$20 gets you everything

As I said earlier today, now is the time for freebies and bundles. Pretty much everyone is stuck at home and needs something to do, but when? said efforts are linked with charity causes, it's a win-win for pretty much everyone.

This particular bundle is hosted by 2K Games, who at this point has quite an extensive catalog of classics spanning multiple studios. It's not quite as extensive as Humble's own efforts a few weeks back, but the 2?K bundle includes 13 games, all of which you can view below??.

The highlights include Spec Ops: The Line, a low profile (at the time) psychological shooter by Yager Development that questioned the entire genre. BioShock: The Collection is a steal at the "beat the average" price (currently $10.38), as it includes all three major BioShock games and the appropriate DLC.

Then there's XCOM: Enemy Unknown, which is arguably still worth $20 all on its own, and the Borderlands: Handsome Collection that includes the still-stellar Borderlands 2 alongside of The Pre-Sequel. You also get the disastrous WWE 2K20 baked in without having to directly pay?? for it. 2K clocks the total v??alue of the bundle at $494.87.

The actual charity that's linked to this bundle is the International Medical Corps: a humanitarian organization that is directly involved in coronavirus (COVID-19) support. As usual you can choose, on a sliding scale, how much of your purchase? goes to said organ??ization, and how much is a "Humble Tip." There is no option to directly give cash to 2K.

Humble?? does not have time to mess around this week. There is no paying what you want or contributing more than the average. ??We are in the middle of a pandemic and there's no negotiating this time. Thirty bucks and you get a shitload of games. That's the deal.

$30 Breath of the Wild and lots more

It's just shy of 11pm Eastern and Black Friday deals for the Nintendo Switch is popping live across the web. Since this Saturday, numerous deals have gone live but most have been just okay at best. Thankfully, things are slowly turning around as more Nintendo Switch console bundle deal??s are appearing online.

Walmart currently has the two holiday bundles of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Mario Tennis Aces + 1-2 Switch in stock, for $299 and $329 respectively. If you don't really care about the games included, the next bet deal in our opinion is the Nintendo Switch Version 2 console at GameStop for full price, but GameStop is throwing in a $25 gift coupon as an extra incentive.

For Nintendo Switch Lite Black Friday deals, you'll probably need to search far and wide for anything that's decent. So far we're seeing a modest deal at Walmart where you can pick up the Turquoise color console for full price with a bonus free case ($10 value, yay). Another more interesting deal with a street value of around $25 bonus are the Switch Lite bundles at Kohl's, which are priced at $250 and $245, an?d in return for buying more random accessories bundled in with?? the Switch Lite, you'll receive $75 or $60 cash to be used after Cyber Monday (good for online or in-store). If you don't shop at Kohl's these aren't as strong of an incentive.

Finally, game deals are actually very decent with many 1st party Nintendo titles at up to 50% off! Example includes The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for only $30, Super Mario Party for $30, and more. Just a note that some of these ar??e already showing stock issues, so you'll need to act quick if you see something you li?ke.

That Only on PlayStation bundle is a banger

Most people do not have the restraint to hold off until the last possible moment to invest in an expiring console. However, those who do will find some ?absolutely fantastic deals waiting for them.

$1 for three months of Game Pass Ultimate is hard to beat

Xbox sure knows how to slash prices for big holiday promos, and Black Friday 2019 is no exception. Microsoft is tak??ing $150 off the top for Xbox One X console bundles and $100 off Xbox One S systems.

From November 24 to December 2, the console deals are:

• Xbox One X bundles for $349.99 ($150 off)
• Xbox One S bundles for $199.99 ($100 off)
• Xbox One S All-Digital Edition bundles for $149.99 ($100 off)

There are a lot of different bundles with a lot of different games floating around, so it's up to you – the Black Frid?ay discounts are across the board. I'd just be wary of the All-Digital Edition if you like discs.

Certain Xbox One controllers – like the Kait Diaz Gears 5 Limited Edition, Sport Blue Special Edition, and Night Ops Camo Special Edition – will be $20 off from November 24 to December 2. So $50 instead of $70, in most cases. If you think those gamepad designs are ugly (you said it, not me!), you can also save $10 on your own custom-detailed Xbox Design Lab controller during that Black Friday window.

The best overall deal, however, is Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Beginning November 14, you can get three months of the service for $1. That's full access to some great games – including The Outer Worlds, Gears 5, and Subnautica – for a dollar. Game Pass Ultimate includes Xbox Live Gold, too.

$40 games, $60 controllers, and a Mario Kart console bundle

Nintendo is mostly focusing on big-hitters for Black Friday 2019 – Switch games that have, and will, continue to sell well for years to come. Case in point: the main hardware bundle this year is a $300 Nintendo Switch console that throws in a digital copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (normally a $60 title).

That deal kicks off November 28, 2019 at Amazon, Target,? B??est Buy, Walmart, and GameStop.

Is there a catch? Well, kinda. A word of caution: this particular Nintendo Switch is the older model, HAC-001, with an expected battery life of 2.5 to 6.5 hours (certain games hog the battery more than others). The newer Switch model, HAC-001(-01), has an ??approximate battery life of 4.5 to 9 hours.

If you expect to primarily play your Switch in portable/handled mo?de, that comparison is definitely worth weighing. The newer battery makes a noticeable difference. Otherwise, if you're a TV player first and foremost, this might not be much of a factor for you. How do you tell them apart? The older Switch model has a product serial number starting with "XAW"; the newer model's serial begins with "XKW."

If you're hoping for a deal on the portable-only Nintendo Switch Lite, I wouldn't expect much from Black Friday. The system is too new to warrant any crazy deals yet. That said, for $200, it's still a great buy if you resonate with handheld gaming (or just want a secondary Switch for your household). Amazon has the Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta Edition in stock, along with the gray, yellow, and turquoise Lite.

In terms of physical Switch game sales this Black Friday, we're looking at:

Super Mario Odyssey and Zelda: Breath of the Wild are the must-haves, but you (arguably) can't go wrong with the rest of that list aside from maybe Super Mario Party. (It's fine, just a bit underwhelming. Also, Mario Party games tear families apart.)

As for digital Switch game sales, Nintendo's Cyber Deals are now live in North America.

Those stores will also have the Poké Ball Plus – an optional accessory for Pokémon Go, Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Eevee!, and Pokémon Sword and Shield – for $20 on November 28. That's 60% off.

Lastly, Amazon, Target, and Best Buy will have Switch Joy-Con controllers marked down to $60 on November 27. That might not sound li??ke a deal, but these things usually go for $80. Yes, it's ridiculous.

If you're a prospective Switch owner, keep an eye out for deals on microSD cards, too. It's been two years, and I'm still using a 200GB SanDisk MicroSDXC memory card. No complaints.

Old favorites, unreleased prototypes and chiptune Erasure

I've been tooling and retooling a list of the most influential indie games of the past ten years, and I don't think it's ever going to be done. It started with a list of 10 games (Super Meat Boy, Shovel Knight, Undertale, PUBG, etc) but that perspective seemed both too small and too obvious. Then the total count jumped to 20, including games like Dys4ia and The Stanley Parable. Still too small. Right now it's up to 33 games, including the likes of QWOP, Flappy Bird, and Hatoful Boyfriend, and it's still not enough. 

One thing I can say for sure though is Pixeljam is among the most under-appreci?ated game developers of the past ten years. Their work carries the authenticity and originality that one might associate with the likes of Devolver Digital, while maintaining the accessibility of more mainstream-friendly names like Chucklefish or Nicalis. And every game they make is scandal free! Yet, they aren't half as famous as they should be??. 

Maybe this mega bundle will change that. For a pay-what-you-want price (going as low as $15) you can get every game they've ever made, including a bunch of unfinished, previously unreleased titles. This includes all their contract games for Adult Swim Games, which the publisher has allowed them to re-release for free. Collaborations with Messof (Nidhogg), actress Sarah Silverman (!), and James Kochalka (Super F*ckers) are also on the set list.

At over 20 games, each costs as little as $0.99 a piece! As Sally Struthers once said, that's less than the price of a cup of coffee. She also once said "...gun repair, art...?" and I think tha?t's one of the only times those three words have been said next to each other by a person on television.

They start shipping today

Anyone who's lo?oking for a new Xbox One S or Xbox One X has a new bundle to consider. That is, if they're a racing fan -- that's a pretty important part of this one.

Microsoft is shipping new Xbox bundles that include a digital download for Forza Horizon 4 and its LEGO Speed Champions expansion. The Xbox One S? version is $299 and the Xbox One X version is $499. They both just started shipping today.

There's nothing special about the consoles themselves, nothing Forza-themed in a way that makes them extra alluring. This is just a bog-standard machine w??ith a couple of quality pack-ins. You could do a lot worse if you're in the market for an Xbox bundle.

I can't even...

I know precisely zero of you are looking forward to Disney Tsum Tsum Festival on t?he Switch, but I can't help by smile at the idea of it. My friend's daughter loves the stupid things, so I've become consciously aware of them whether I wanted to be or not. This latest news is giving me i??deas of what I can buy her as a gift, soon.

Coming out in Japan on October 10, 2019, a specially branded Disney Tsum Tsum Festival Switch bundle will be available for purchase. It obviously includes the game alongside this pink and purple bundle with Disney markings on it. It's even the "updated" Switch model with longer battery life, which is a nice deal. I wonder why the hell this is getting a bundle over something like Luigi's Mansion 3, but it still is nice looking.

I don't know if the US will receive the same thing, but I wouldn't be surprised if this made the jump Westward. Disney?? is huge in basically every country and kids are sure to want this cute, colorful bundle. If nothing else, that would make it easier for me to get this for my friend's daughter.

Read 'em and Weeb

For a self-proclaimed weeb, I don't read nearly as much manga as I think I should. Thankfully, that sad state of affairs is changing, thanks to increased accessibility and dropping costs. And if you're looking for a handful of (digital) manga to read, it's hard to beat the Humble Manga Bundle, the third of which is now available.

Titled the "Manga 2 Anime" bundle, the bundle allows buyers to pay what they want for a selection of Kodansha-published manga, all of which have an anime adaptation released or in the works. The offering is fairly diverse, ranging from comedic rom-coms like The Quintessential Quintuplets to dark quasi-historical tales like the Viking-set Vinland Saga, the anime adaptation of which will be handled by Studio Wit, which also handled the Attack on Titan anime. Tsutomu Nihei's BLAME! and Aposimz are also in the pack, as well as Domestic Girlfriend, an awkward romance drama starring a guy who end?s up becoming stepbrother to both the teacher he has a crush on and the girl he slept with at a party. Yikes!

Fans that have been keeping up with previous Humble Manga Bundles might be disappointed, as there's some overlap from those in the form of Cells At Work!, Fire Force, and Attack on Titan, but there's plenty of content otherwise for a good price. PSVR is alive and well

A handful of promising virtual reality titles are destined for PS4 this year, and to capitalize on that influx, Sony is planning to phase in a couple of fresh PlayStation VR hardware bundl??es for 2019.

The first is an all-in bundle of sorts. For $350 ($450 CAD), the package includes a PlayStation VR headset, a PlayStation Camera, two PlayStation Move controllers, a digital copy of Everybody's Golf VR, and a disc version of Blood & Truth. That'll be available in ?the US and Canada starting May 28, 2019.

The second bundle is pared down. Priced at $300 ($380 CAD), you're just getting a PlayStation VR headset and PlayStation Camera along with digital copies of Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted and the zany Justin Roiland joint Trover Saves the Universe. The bundle launches May 31, 2019.

I haven't been in a VR mood in recent months, but looking at the upcoming PSVR release list, I'll need to end my hiatus soon. These bundles won't be your cheapest possible entry into PlayStation VR, so if you're really budget-focused??, I'd hold off until November. That said, if you want to hit the?? ground running and you don't have any of the equipment, the pricier Move bundle can meet that need.

Aside from No Man's Sky and Dreams, both of which will have optional VR functionality, I'm most curious to try out Blood & Truth (the proof-of-concept London Heist demo was an early favorite), Iron Man VR (I'm still fresh off of Endgame), and Undead Citadel (a cool skeleton-wrecking hack-and-slash).

We don't know Sony's further-out plans for PlayStation VR, but considering the "current PSVR headset [will be] compatible with the new console" per Mark Cerny, the P??S5's existence won't suddenly invalidate your purchase. In fact, Sony is showing VR more love i??n 2019 than I would've expected.

Hopefully it doesn't die twice

The past few years have seen some really great looking themed PS4 consoles. We had that awesome Yakuza 6 one, the stellar God of War console, the legendary "500 Million" edition Pro, and now a suitably dark Sekiro console. Exclusive to Dutch retailer Game Mania, fans will have a chance of winning this beast by pre-ordering Sekiro on PS4 from the chain's online store.

After your pre-order, you'll be given a box containing chopsticks. If the chopsticks are golden, you'll be the lucky owner of the bamboo themed ??device. The game's title is engraved in a maple wood effect on the top of the console while the controller displays it in English on the touchpad. It probably e?xpels demons, as well. I don't know, I just want it.

As mentioned above, this will be exclusive to the Netherlands and Belgium. I don't think Activision or Sony will be producing multiple units, so this will likely go down as one of the rarest PS4's around. I envy the people that?? get one.

A digital bundle of ASS

FreakZone Games has announced that it will be porting both of its Angry Video Game Nerd titles to consoles in the near future. Coming in a bundle titled Angry Video Game Nerd I & II Deluxe, the compilation will feature a completely rebuilt original game on the AVGN2 engine. FreakZone is teasing some possible additions to each title, the e??xtent ?of which is unknown.

In fact, the specific consoles are also unknown. I think it is a safe bet to assume a Switch port is happening (especially with some of the cheeky responses given to fans), but we'll learn more as we get closer to release. If you are present at PAX South this weekend, you can giv??e the re-release a whirl at FreakZone's booth.

Plans to bring it back in 2019

A few months ago, Microsoft rolled out a subsidized Xbox One bundle at select Microsoft retail stores. The deal would lock buyers into a two-year contract and immediately give them an Xbox One or Xbox One X for a specified price. The offer also included two-years of access to Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass, sweetening the deal considerably. While it may not have been the cheapest option around, it was a great way to jump in with little t?o no fuss.

Microsoft has just announced it will be ending that offer so??on. On December 31, 2018, the "All Access" bundle will be ceased at participating Microsoft retail locations. This gives anyone on the fence time to deliberate before the holidays. If you don't manage to bite the bullet, Microsoft has stated it will be rolling out the offer in earnest next year.

That was part of the in??itial plan, too. Microsoft had only begun the offer as a test to see if it was viable. I'm guessing it was successful, because why else would Microsoft be continuing it? This will likely lead to the plan being available at other retailers, which might make it easier for people in remote part??s of the US to partake of it.

I may not like contract plans, but this one was one of the least scummy I've seen. There weren't a lot of strings attached and the price was comp??arable to buying everything at full MSRP. It really wasn't ?a bad deal unless you are very frugal. Hopefully, that continues for next year.

Better than Black Friday deals

It's the second week of December and this is one of the busiest times online for holiday shopping - or at least, that's how some retailers infer it with their "Green Monday" marketing moniker earlier this week. Now that we're within striking distance of Christmas, Walmart has opened up the discount war chest by offering five Xbox One S bundles for $199 with free two-day shipping.

While multiple retailers are running the ongoing $50 off promotion that Microsoft launched last week, these are significantly better given the discount is a full $100 off. Best of all, many of these bundles were discounted only by $80 during Black Friday. Available bundles are Fortnite, NBA 2K19, Forza Horizon 4, Minecraft Adventure, and PUBG. Previously, the Battlefield V bundles were briefly available for the same $199 discount ??but unfortunately, the price has now returned to the higher $219 price tag.
