Call of Duty Black Ops 6 has a vast assortment of ??guns and weapons, and you can personalize them ?with unique camos/skins.

While you'll be able to unlock new camos f?rom the upcoming battle pass, you can unlock more by grinding kills and completing different achievements. The multiplayer mode has four Mastery camos for every available weapon, but there's more. Let's first take a look at the nine Military camos to unlock.

All Black Ops 6 multiplayer military camos to unlock

Every weapon in Black Ops 6 has nine military camos and two special camos to unlock in the multiplayer mode. These camos are separate from the four Mastery camos (we'll get to that later in this article).

  • Granite: Five Headshots.
  • Woodland: 10 Headshots.
  • Savanna: 15 Headshots.
  • Splinter: 20 Headshots.
  • Moss: 30 Headshots.
  • Shade: 40 Headshots.
  • Digital: 50 Headshots.
  • Tide: 75 Headshots.
  • Red Tiger: 100 Headshots.

The two ?special camos and their unlock conditions vary across the weapons, while the Mastery camos are Gold, Diamond, Dark Spine, and Dark Matter.

Before we jump further into unlocking the Special and Mastery camos, do note the following cond??itions.

  • Diamond Mastery camo: Requires you to have Gold camos on all of those weapon types. So, if you're looking to unlock the Diamond Mastery camo for the XM4, you'll need a Gold camo for all assault rifles.
  • Dark Spine Mastery camo: Requires Diamond camo on 33 weapons.
  • Dark Matter Mastery camo: Requires Dark Spine camo on 33 weapons.

With that clear, let's take a look at the individual conditions need?ed to unlock all the camos.

With Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's rapid progression system, it can be hard to?? keep track of all your stats as you swiftly rise through the Prestiges.

You can find all the information you need about your multiplayer stats in the Combat Record. If you're not sure we're to find this, I've got you covered - here's how you can view all your Combat Record stats in Black Ops 6.

How to view Combat Record stats in Black Ops 6

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Combat Record
Screenshot by Destructoid

Viewing your Combat Record stats in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is simple. Follow these steps to keep track:

  • Open Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Multiplayer
  • Head to the "Barracks" tab along the top of the screen
  • Press "Stats" then "Combat Record"

Voila! You're in the Black Ops 6 Combat Record. You can also go straight there by pressing the "Launcher Menu" button in the top-right corner of your screen and pressing "Combat Record.?" This is represented by six small rectangles - you can't miss it.

Once in the Black Ops 6 C??ombat Record, you can keep track of all the following stats:

  • Time played
  • Games played
  • Average Eliminations per game
  • Score per minute
  • Win/Loss ratio
  • Elimination/Death ratio
  • Total wins and losses
  • Total Eliminations and deaths
  • Highest Elimination streak
  • Highest Eliminations in one game
  • Best weapons by total Eliminations and Eliminations/Death ratio
  • Recent matches (stats for last ten matches)
  • Total Victories by game mode

Every time you Prestige in Black Ops 6, a new tab is added to your Co?mbat Record stats. This shows you all of the above stats per Prestige, allowing you to see the improvements (or decline) in your performance over time. Don't worry - you can still view your lifetime stats on the main tab.

Can I check K/D ratio in Black Ops 6?

Sadly not - K/D ratio has been replaced with Elim/D ratio in Black Ops 6, which adds any assists to your total tally. There's no way to check classic K/D li??ke back i?n the day.

Does the Black Ops 6 Combat Record track Zombies stats?

Black Ops 6 Combat Record Zombies
Screenshot by Destructoid

No. You can track your Zombies stats by heading to the "Leaderboards" tab in the "Barracks." From there, sele??ct "Zombies" to track tons of different stats across these categorie??s:

  • Career
  • Eliminations
  • Rounds
  • Critical Damage
  • Maps

You can filter these stats by Friends or Global to see where you stack up in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 rankings.

With the release of Black Op 6 Se?ason 1, many weapons in the roster received a significant balance pass to better suit t??he game state. Here's a list of every weapon balance change made in Season 1.

All Balance Changes in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 1

Despite having many of the same weapons available, the balance passes for Multiplayer and Zombie? modes are treated differently, so I'?ll provide the changes for each mode separately.

Multiplayer Balance Changes

Multiplayer received the largest assortment of changes across most weapon types despite the relatively decent balance and usage rates since release. All weapons received the following changes:

  • Adjusted weapon motion while moving and changing stances to improve aiming feel and centering (especially with optics).
  • Hold Breath focus state will now be maintained while firing if applicable.
  • Improved Weapon depth of field settings when performing a Weapon Inspect.

As one of two shotguns available in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the ASG-89 excels at high-speed hip-fire-style gameplay due ?to its incredibly generous spread. As such, the best builds with this beast involve empowering that hip-fire gameplay further with the right loadout and attachments.

Unlocking the ASG-89 requires you to have been playing for a bit, requiring you to achieve a mid-progression rank of level 31. Once unlocked, it can be equipped a??t any time in the primary slot of your custom loadouts.

What is the best build for the ASG-89 in Black Ops 6?

If you use the ASG-89 as it comes in stock, it may seem underwhelming to you, and I'd agree. This is one of the few weapons in Black Ops 6 that pretty much requires attachments to be made viable. This is largely due to its mediocre range and slow TTK (Time to Kill) beyond very close?? ranges. Where it is excellent though is its hipfire, and the best build will f??ocus heavily on this aspect while shoring up its weaknesses where possible.

  • Muzzle: Full Choke
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
  • Magazine: Fast Mag 1
  • Rear Grip: Assault Grip
  • Stock: Balanced Stock
  • Laser: Steady Aim Laser
  • Fire Mods: Rapid Fire

ASG-89 Customize in Black Ops 6

Starting off, the Full Choke muzzle attachment reduces the hipfire spread of the ASG-89, allowing for better accuracy and an inherent improvement to its ability to engage targets at a distance. Since you will only be f??iring this gun for the hip, this is one of its more important stats to be concerned with.

The Reinforced Barrel boosts both the weapon's Damage Range and Bu??llet Velocity further extending its engagement distance.

With the Ranger Foregrip equipped, you will sprint faster with? the gun,?? which is important since the ideal place on the battlefield for it is up close and personnel.

The Fast Mag 1 is your magazine of choice since it improves the ASG-89's Reload and Sprint to Fire speed at the cost of magazine ammo capacity. You want to be ready to fire as soon as ?p??ossible with this gun.

Using the Assault Grip on the ASG-89 doubles down on improving the weapons Sprint to Fire sp??eed.

With the Balanced Stock equipped, your Movement Speed?? across the board is dramatically increased. This is great for closing distance and helps you avoid enemy bullets in the mids?t of a firefight.

The Steady Aim Laser doubles down on improving the ASG-89's hipfir??e spre??ad, its effects stacking with the aforementioned Full Choke attachment.

Finally, the Rapid Fire attachment is a requirement for the ASG-89 to be considered functional. This mod alone significantly improves this weapon's performance by letting you fire it off more often. A faster fire rate means a faster TTK, which means you'll win more f???ights in general at all viable engagement distances.

Best Equipment and Perks for the ASG-89 in Black Ops 6

With the above attachments, the ASG-89 is a strong aggressive weapon for direct engagemen?ts that can be used anywhere if you come with the right loadout. As such, the Equipment and Perks setup you should use sho??uld support this weapon by helping you get as close to the enemy as possible before engaging.

  • Tactical: Smoke or Stim Shot
  • Lethal: Semtax
  • Field Upgrade: Sleeper Agent
  • Perk 1: Ninja
  • Perk 2: Tracker
  • Perk 3: Double Time
  • Wildcard: Gunfighter

The ideal Tactical should be Smoke as it allows you to obscure sight lines long enough for you slip through to the enemy's backline without noticing you. Ninja also helps with this, preventing the enemy from hearing you coming until it's far too late. Double Time lets you move at full speed for significantly longer than normal. Finally, Gunfighter is a necessity so you can equip the?? abovementioned perks.

Point Blank kills in Call of Duty Black Ops 6 might seem silly, give?n the nature? of the gunplay involved on most maps, but it will be necessary if you're trying to obtain certain specific camos.

In simple words, Point Blank Kills represent any casualties you cause in melee range. However, only damage done by your guns will count for these achievements. No melee weapon or K??illstreaks will be considered, which makes it slightly challenging. That said, you can get the kills done quite quickly if you know how to approach the situation appropriately.

How to get easy Point Blank kills in Call of Duty Black Ops 6

Before you start to focus on the main objective at hand, it's always important to be clear about what you're trying to achieve. You're trying to finish the opponent from close quarters but with a gun. Naturally, you'll want to use guns that are highly efficient at a lot of damage from close range. You'll als??o want to play on a map that has tight spaces so that your enemies will be forced in close.

The Stakeout Map in Black Ops 6.
Image via Activision

  • Equip the right gun. For this, you'll either want to use a shotgun or an SMG. I personally prefer SMGs due to their high mobility. Shotguns, on the other hand, can one-shot enemies if you know how to use them.
  • The correct map is necessary, and for that, you'll want to play the Stakeout map in Face Off Moshpit. This playlist might feel too intensive, but you'll want to respawn as quickly as possible.
  • The Stakeout map is all about the four corners. You'll want to use a slide and aim up. On many occasions, an enemy will try to rush you, but a slide will take you away from the enemy's firing line. Aiming up could get you a possible headshot and eliminate your enemy instantly.

Ultimately, getting Point Blank Kills in Black Ops 6 is more a matter of luck than precision. There will be times when you'll be doing everything right but still end up missing the kills. I have personally found that it's easier to get Direct Hits with launchers. That said?, you can quickly wrack up the Point Blank kills by investing a few hours.

As of writing, there are four camos you can unlock by getting the Point Blank kills in Black Ops 6 - Thistlevine ??(GS45), Night Terror (ASG-89), Dread (Jackal PDW), and Idyllic (GPMG-7). All camos require you to get 30 Point Blank Kills with the specific weapons across any multiplayer playlist.

Under the new system, perks will be divided into three different colors: Blue (Perk 1), Red (Perk 2), and Yellow (Perk 3). There are six differen??t options for each, and you'll have to choose based on your playstyle and preferences.

Mobility plays an enormous role in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, especially with the new Omni-movement feature added with its release. Thus, having the rig??ht movement settings toggled can make all the difference in outplaying your opponents.

Best Settings for Smooth Movement in Black Ops 6

There are a slew of settings to play around with in the Movement menu within Black Ops 6, and many of them are going to be up to your preference whether or not you decide to use them. However, the ones I'm about to recommend make for smooth, precise gameplay, letting you foc??us much more on the shooting and less on the technicals of mobility.

For your clar??ity, I'll walk through each of the import??ant settings and offer you my recommendation.

Intelligent Movement

This section deals with the automation of simplistic movements such as Sp??rinting an??d Mantling.

Sprint Assist

This setting lets you control how you want to initiate a Sprint. I recommend turning this setting Off since Sprinting can be initiated manually with its dedicated control scheme, which gives you more agency on when and where it is activated. This is valuable as you do not want to always be Sprinting at full speed in volatile situations where you need to have your gun up and ready. You don't need to deal with any of ??its sub-settings when the core one is set to off.

If you're playing with a keyboard and mouse, then there is a use case where you can set this setting to Tactical Sprint Assist to perform the new omnidirectional Dive behavior much more easily. This will make it so that when initial movement in any direction, you will automatically go into a Tactical Sprint without further input. Thanks to this, simply pressing Dive will Dive you in the direction you wish without having to have to press the Sprint button. The trade-off here is that you will have less general access to Hipfiring, which can be a determinant.

Mantle Assist

Mantle Assist lets you automate the ability to climb over low obstructions. Definitely leave this setting off, as with it toggled on, you will climb over obstacles anytime you touch one that is climbable. This can easily disrupt your flow of combat, especially in?? the midst of a shootout near stairs or similar locations.

Crouch Assist

Crouch Assist, when toggled on, will automatically crouch you when you get close to high obstructions with space below. You absolutely want to have this off, as, like with the above-mentioned settings, you don't want to have this sort of movement automated due to agency. There are times when you don't want to crouch but are near places where crouching will let ??you transverse.

Corner Slice

Corner Slice is a new mechanic introduced with Black Ops 6 that will automatically 'lean' your character around corners when you're ADS (Aiming Down Sights). This option is entirely your preference as, despite its appearance from your perspective, it has no noticeable effect on gameplay. Thanks to testing, it is arguably cosmetic in nature, as players looking toward you while you perform a Corner Slice will not see the lean effect occur.

Movement Behaviors

These settings determine how you manually activate all of the possible mobility maneuvers available to you in Black Ops 6.

Crouch Behavior

Agency is the most important aspect when it comes to movement, and that remains the case for Crouching as well. I highly recommend you set this setting to Toggle, as it means you have less to press for the same results. Toggle is ideal?? because you need to be able to smooth initial Sliding, which is done when Crouch is either held down or Toggle by a key press while Sprinting. It is extremely cumbersom?e to Slide when you're forced to hold down the Crouch key.

Prone Behavior

Like Crouching, you want to be able to simply press the 'Prone' button and remain as such without needing to hold down additional keys. Diving, a new mechanic introduced in Black Ops 6, requires the Prone maneuver to be initiated while Sprinting. Once more, you don't want to hold down several keys to initiate what should just be a simple movement. Set this to Toggle if it isn't already.

SCUD in Black Ops 6

Sprint/Tactical Sprint Behavior

With the Sprint button, you can set it to either Toggle or Hold. Set this setting to Toggle, because using Hold will require you to hold an additional key input to activate Tactical Sprint. This will make you slower to react to the a??ctions of other players. Toggle Sprint can be canceled at any time with a simple ADS input.

Sprint Restore

Keep this setting set to On, as it allows you to keep sprinting after performing any other mobility action. Turning this off will slow you down as you'd need ??to initial a Sprint every time you perform a movement behavior (Dive, Slide, etc...).

Slide/Dive Activation

Slides and Dives inherently use different inputs to perform during a Sprint, but this setting allows you to tie both together, separating the actions by how you input them (Hold vs Tap). Set this setting to Independent so th?at you don't accidentally perform the wrong mobility behavior whe?n it counts.

Combat Behaviors

These settings influence how you utilize combat-relate??d mechanics and mobility.

Aim Down Sight Behavior

This setting adjusts how you want to enter ADS mode, with both a Toggle and Hold option available to you. I highly recommend you set this to Hold because entering ADS and exiting is something you want to be able to do with a single press. If you set Toggle on this setting, you will require two inputs to ??accomplish the same effect, effectiv??ely slowing you down. Not good if you're trying to be competitive.

Dedicated Melee Weapon Activation

Unique to Black Ops 6, you will always have a melee weapon that can be equipped. This weapon can, by default, be accessed by holding down the melee button. However, this is incredibly slow and not viable if you intend to make use of your melee weapon unless you change this setting to Dedicated Keybind. This allows you to set a specific key for swapping to melee, which? happens ins??tantaneously when you press it.

Weapon Mount Activation

Despite popular belief, Weapon Mounting is an incredibly strong mechanic that is not often used by the player base in Black Ops 6 or Call of Duty in general. Whether you decide to take advantage of it is your preference, but if you do, make sure this setting is set to Toggle so you don't need to hold the key down once you've found a location to set up shop. There is also some viability in setting this to Hold instead if yo??u intend to make use of Weapon Mounting in short bursts, a??s you are technically faster if you do.

Widely considered the best assault rifle in the game, given its built-in suppressor, excellent handling, and ability to stay lethal no matter the range, the AS VAL makes speedrunning to level 55 more than worth it in Call of Duty Black Ops 6.

But as no gun in the game is perfect, picking the right modifications and equipment is a must if you plan on truly turning the weapon into the ultimate AR. Here's the best AS VAL loadout in Call of Duty Black Ops 6.

The Best AS VAL Loadout in Call of Duty Black Ops 6

As the AS VAL has its high overall recoil as its biggest weakness, we will start by mitigating that through the use of the Vertical Foregrip and Recoil Springs, all while boosting the gun's overall time-to-kill and range by using the Suppressed Reinforced Barrel and its ADS and Slide to Fire Speed with the Ergonomic Grip. We will ??then close off by adding an optic for that always-welcome boost in pr??ecision.

Although the above will allow you to keep the gun as steady as it can be and boost its bullet velocity by 30%, using the Gunfighter perk will allow you to take its performance even further by equipping the Balanced Stock for an increase in overall mobility and the Extended Mag I for what can be a game-changing increase in magazine size (believe me, 10 bullets will make a huge difference here). For th?ose who don't mind the presence of a beam when in ADS, the Target Laser will offer a great boost in accuracy when aiming down sights.

To recap, here are the best modifications for the AS VAL in COD BO6, as well as a few v??ariant picks s?ure to offer great results:

  • Optic: Kepler Microflex / Accu-Spot Reflex
  • Barrel: Suppressed Reinforced Barrel
  • Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip / Using the Quickdraw Grip can also work if you are not a fan of sliding
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Fire Mods: Recoil Springs (Will offer a massive boost to recoil control)
  • If Using Gunfighter:

    • Stock: Balanced Stock / No Stock
    • Magazine: Extended Mag I / Flip Mag
    • Laser: Target Laser

Now that our gun is sorted out, going with a set of three Recon perks will be your best bet when using the AS VAL, as they will give you access to its meta-defining Specialty and allow you to highlight enemies across the whole map after each spawn. While your Lethal option will depend on your playstyle, I recommend using the Flashbang as your Tactical so that you can open targets and clear rooms more efficiently. You can check out the best perks, secondary, and Field Upgrade for the AS VAL, as well as a little more on our already mentioned pick??s below:

  • Secondary: Grekhova (The only full-auto pistol in the game, I considered it a primary weapon in all but name)
  • Tactical: Flashbang (A great tool for any scenario, given its ability to blind targets).
  • Lethal: Will depend on your playstyle
  • Field Upgrade: Morphine Injection (Will pair well with our secondary of choice and allow you to come back to the fight) / War Cry / Sleeper Agent
  • Perk #1: Ghost (Will lower the sound made by your footsteps)
  • Perk #2: Forward Intel (Will boost your minimap and pinpoint the location of targets after being spotted by them)
  • Perk #3: Cold-Blooded (Will make you immune to thermal and UAV. Will also stop killstreaks and cameras from tracking you)
  • Wildcard: Gunfighter for the extra attachment slots or Perk Greed for the ability to add Double Time to our perk list

The Best BO6 Zombies AS VAL Loadout

As the presence of beans won't mean a thing when facing the infected, the best BO6 Zombies build for the AS VAL will have in the Tactical Laser (and thus in the ability to enter the tac-stance) its biggest differential when compared to the above. We will also be using the Quickdraw Grip to double down on ADS Speed. To recap, here are the best attachments for those looking to take the AS VAL for a spin in Black Ops 6 Zombies:

  • Optic: Kepler Microflex (or any optic that does not offer diminishing results)
  • Barrel: Suppressed Reinforced Barrel
  • Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Stock: Balanced Stock / No Stock
  • Magazine: Extended Mag I / Flip Mag
  • Laser: Tactical Laser
  • Fire Mods: Recoil Springs

To close our Zombies loadout, we will use the Stim Shot for a boost in survivability. I also recommend using either the Energy Mine or the Aether Shroud as your initial Field Upgrade, as while the for?mer will allow you to get rid of large sums of infected, the latter will ma??ke escaping critical situations and reviving teammates way easier.

With less than a week left for Season 1 to begin in Call of Duty Black Ops 6, Acti??vision has revealed some amazing content coming to the game in a few days.

Season 1 m??arks the start of a new journey for Call of Duty players, who have so far been enjoying the content of Black Ops 6. This includes a fresh campaign, ?multiplayer, and the reintroduced Zombies mode. But things will heat up in Season 1, and there's plenty in the pipeline.

Black Ops 6 Season 1 game modes

A new season can't be complete without more game modes, and plenty is coming in Season 1. With the integration of Warzone, you'll be able to enjoy the vintage modes ??like Ranked, but there's som??ething new waiting in multiplayer and zombies as well.

Multiplayer will see the introduction of Ransack, where you'll have to loot gold bars from marked crates. To win, you'll have to secure the loot by bringing it back to your team stash and also guard it from your opponents. This will be followed by the launch of the fan-favorite Hide-and-Seek mode. You'll be playing as either a prop (to hide) or a hunter (to find). Additionally, limited-time modes will be introduced as part of the mid-seas??on ?refresh.

Zombies fans won't have to feel hard done by, as the Directed mode is coming to both Liberty Falls and Terminus. In the Direc??ted mo??de, every match will be capped at 15 rounds, and you'll have to focus on the objectives.

Black Ops 6 Season 1 maps

New maps are going to be added to both multiplayer and zombies. ?The introduction of Warzone will have the introduction of Area 99 as the new Resurgence map. With plenty of POIs, Area 99 will be one interesting place to explore for sure. Urzikstan marks a return at launch, and Rebirth Island will continue to be a part of the rotation playlist.

All modes will have new lo?adout additions as part of Season 1 content. Multiplayer will have new? Perks, Wildcard, and Scorestreak.

Sea??son 1 also marks the return of Armory, which will allow you to unlock any weapon you might have missed the first time. This will include all weapon??s that can be unlocked from Battle Passes and events. This will be great for those who might not be able to complete battle passes during an active season.

The new?? season will also ??have fresh attachments being added to the existing weapons, so make sure to be on the lookout for them.

Black Ops 6 Season 1 battle pass

The Season 1 battle pass will have 110 pieces of unlockable content, and if you get BlackCell, you'll have 20 extra items added to your inventory. Players will be able to unlock the Saug and Krig C from the free version of the pa?ss. Additionally, players will be able to unlock new operator skins as well. Here are the total types of rewards you can access from the battle pass.

  • COD Points
  • Weapon Blueprints (Primary, Secondary, Melee)
  • Weapon Attachments
  • Weapon Reticles
  • Weapon Charms
  • Weapon Decals
  • Weapon Stickers

All things considered, there's plenty of interesting content coming to Black Ops 6 on November 14, and it could be the start of a really interesting journey as far as the rewards ar?e concerned.

The highly anticipated Warzone and Black Ops 6 integration is just around the corner, heralding a new era for CoD's free-to-play version. This momentous event not only marks the introduction of the first season for BO6 but also brings a host of improvements for Warzone fans.

To give you the latest deets on this arrival, here's when the new Warzone will come out in Black Ops 6.

Black Ops 6 Warzone release date

The Warzone and BO6 integration begins on Nov. 14, 2024. You'll likely need to download a fairly sizeable patch for this upcoming update, so make sure to set aside some room in your storage. Pre-loads usually come out a few days beforehand to get you better prepared for i??ts launch.

Once the integration is live, you'll be able to explore the new Warzone map, Area 99, a fascinating locale that pays homage to the beloved Nuketown map.?? You'll encounter points of interest like the out in the open Cooling Towers, the Reactor center point, and the creepy Mannequin Assembly station. If you want to unearth the origins of Nuketown, head to the Warehouse (Factory) to see a familiar sign that any Call of Duty player would recognize.

There are plenty of ways to customize your characters in Call of Duty Black Ops 6,?? but t??he Redacted Operator skin has been on the lips of many players ever since it was reportedly leaked online.

Operator skins might not offer any direct in-game advantage to the players, but they indeed have a high demand. After all, you can stand out and make your operators look different, and there are some fantastic skins to pick from that are currently available in the game. If you believe in leaks and rumors, the Redacted skin is present in the game, but ??you can't unlock it, well, at least not anytime soon.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Redacted Operator skin, explained

Operator skins can be obtained in different ways in Black Ops 6. They can be unlocked by completing various objectives, and the upcoming Season 1 battle pass will have a fair number of them (most likely). UK users can also unlock the Hella Chill operator skin for Nazir.

The Redacted Operator skin, on the other hand, hasn't been officially revealed by the developers. Instead, it was unearthed by data miners, who found its looks and design inside the game files. Once they found it, the skin appeared online, and it's a ?full black design with a pair of goggles.

An image of Prestige Master in Black Ops 6
Image via Activision

Since it's not officially available inside the game yet, the actual method to unlock it remains unknown. Incidentally, some players have reportedly spotted the skin in lobbies, where a few hackers have managed to unlock Prestige Master and reach all the way to 1000 Mastery levels.

This could indicate that maybe the Redacted operator skin will require us? first to unlock Prestige Master and then take up to level 1000. As an alternative, the skin might also be available right when you unlock Prestige Master. Either way, it's safe to concur that we're not supposed to get this operator skin anytime soon.

The skin is also an indicator that if you encounter it in one of your lobbies, you're likely playing with a hacker. That said, the developers routinely conduct ban waves, so those who unlocked?? the skin early might end up losing all their in-game progression and, possibly, their Activision accounts as well.

If we do get an official release of the skin in the future, we will update this article to reflect the exact process to unlock the skin in Black Ops 6.

When you initially think of Call of Duty, fighting a nonstop horde of the undead probably isn't the first thing you think of. Well, at least until the Zombies mode became a staple of the Call of Duty se?ries, becoming as much a part of the franchise as its multiplayer and campaign modes.

Since its original inception in Call of Duty: World at War, many players have grown attached to Zombies, as it provides a fun co-op excursion from the series' standard modes. However, with so many titles now including the mode, the amount of available maps has skyrocketed. Here are the 15 best Zombies maps across all Call of Duty games.

Nact Der Untoten
Screenshot by Destructoid

15. Nacht Der Untoten - World at War

If you were someone who had just completed the campaign for Call of Duty: World at War, you may have been greeted by this map right as the credits ended. Initially, "Nazi Zombies" was hidden away from players until they completed the main storyline. Once the credits ended, players would be immediately thrust into the first Zombies map, Nacht Der Untoten. Translating to "Night of the U??ndead," this small locale was an edited version of a building from the campaign miss??ion "Hard Landing."

Players are trapped inside the building with no means of escape as the undead march to the many windows. You would then have to fend off the zombies for as long as possible. Nacht is a simple map focusing on the main gameplay loop of round-based survival. Players gain points from shooting zombies and can upgrade their arsenal by purchasing weapons with the points. Whether tha??t's by purchasing them from the chalk drawings on the walls, grabbing the sniper from the upstairs cabinet, or taking their chances by opening the "Mystery Box" in the room on the ground floor.

Players only had their ??skills to rely on, as the onslaught of zombies was relentless, and help wasn't coming anytime soon.

Tranzit

14. TranZit - Black Ops II

Black Ops II was one of the first games to introduce me to Zombies mode, showcasing its now classic round-based matches. In its? heyday, TranZit was probably the most talked about map, where players take a deadly scenic route in a one to four-player co-op ride. You'll jump on and off a bus, with the driver T.E.D.D. commanding its loading and drop-off times.

As much as I want this to be a nostalgic gem, it sadly doesn't compare to Zombies mode now. Given the small size of the bus and numerous zombie hordes, it can be w??ay too overwhelming to handle. And it's not the good kind of overwhelming that I've gotten used to, since it feels like there is no chance of survival. Not only does the lava on the ground burn you alive, but the fog makes it almost impossible to see.

Don't even get me started on the Wonder Weapon, the Thrustodyne Aeronautics Model 23 (Jet Gun). Players will go through all that trouble of building this tool, only for it to barely kill any zombies. It also makes you move slower than usual, which doesn't really make sense for Zombies mode's fast-paced environment. Rewards like this just aren't satisfying enough to make it worthwhile (But don't worry it gets a buff?? in the later iterations).

TranZit, despite its flaws, was a game-changer for the Call of Duty series. It was the first Zombies mode to introdu??ce buildables, a feature that has since become a staple in?? the series. TranZit's innovative gameplay and features paved the way for the evolution of the series, and we owe it a debt of gratitude for that.

Der Reise
Screenshot by Destructoid

13. Der Reise - World at War

Der Reise, or "The Giant," was the final map to be given to players in World at War's life cycle, joining DLC as an addition to standard multiplayer maps. Since the zombies first appeared in Nacht Der Untoten, the mode had undergone some changes, transitioning from defending a single location to a more expansive map where letting in the undead didn't spell the end of your cr?ew.

The map puts players at ground zero of the zombie outbreak, a facility run by the elusive "Group 935." While the lore wasn't at the forefront of the gameplay, dedicated players could tune into the many radios around the map to uncover the story of Dr. Edward Richtofen. You'll learn about the betrayal of his partner, Ludvig Maxis, and the horrific creation of the undead army, including the hellhounds that attack the player every five r?ounds.

Der Reise also solidified the "Perk-a-Cola" system into the game. Brand new to Der Reise was the Pack-a-Punch machine. You could now invest in your favorite weapons by upgrading them to become more powerful variants. Players who were clever enough to stick with weak weapons like the Colt M1911 would be rewarded with a pistol that shot explosive rounds, telling players that all guns are worth at least upgrading once.

Der Reise's high ?replayability and the formal introduction of the series' lore gave players something to think about as they waited for the next Treyarch game to release, hoping that the questions they were left with would finally be answere??d.

Buried
Image via Treyarch

12. Buried - Black Ops II

Call of Duty Black Ops II's Buried map incorporates a Wild West scene into Zombies mode. The area is wh?olly buried underneath rubble, hence the name, with no means? of escape in sight. As the new sheriff in town, there are plenty of resources to take advantage of, from chalk-drawing weapons to various Perk Colas.

Buried is one of the few maps that offer an NPC helper with the formidable Arthur. Give him some Candy or Booze to get him on your side, and he'll eliminate zombies in no time. It's also excellent for solo players who need a teammate to watch their back??. In additi??on to Arthur, my personal favorite from this map is the Ray Gun Mark II. It amplifies everything from its original design, making it an even more devastating weapon.

You can use it to take on the unique challenge at the haunted mansion. Here, players will stand against a ghostly woman who tends to steal money out of your pockets. Given that cash is a big part of Zombies mode (giving you new weapons? and upgrades), it's a thrilling challenge that will test your movements and skills.&??nbsp;

The Wonder Weapons, including the Paralyzer and Time Bomb, ?are also fun to wield. While the Paralyzer helps slow down zombies, the Time Bomb sends you back in time to collect previous gear. Buried's many helpful features make it stand out amongst the maps, and it's plain fun to explore around its old western-themed environment.

Ascension
Screenshot by Destructoid

11. Ascension - Black Ops

Ascen??sion refines what's already been learned in previous maps but keeps it fresh by adding to the mechanics in fun and intu??itive ways. The map starts out with the player entering it through a lunar lander. The color fades to monochrome, and the only way to turn the color back on is by activating the power station.

Pack-a-Punch is opened by riding lunar?? landers between the three main locations on the map, allowing players to launch a rocket stationed in the background, opening the room housing the Pack-a-Punch.

The map functions similarly to Der Reise, though the lunar lander has to be called to e??ach location before riding it. This waiting period and the short ride back to the start provide small breaks for the player to reload and recoup before continuing the fight. Special rounds return, though the hellhounds are nowhere to be seen, replaced by terrifying space monkeys, who attack the Perk Machines players have used. If they're stopped before dealing any damage to the perks, players can net?? themselves a free perk, bypassing the four perk limit set by all maps.

Ascension also introduced players to "Easter Eggs," a story quest that can be completed throughout a session to gain rewards and directly impact the series' plotline. It's not front and center, and compared to other maps, Ascension's is quite simple, but access to a 90-second Death Machine (a devastating piece of weaponry) is a fine reward for the most skilled zombie slayers. This location is a perfect map for all player types. It keeps them on their toes with special rounds but is close in complexity to World at War's maps.

Kino Der Toten
Image via Treyarch

10. Kino Der Toten - Black Ops

Kino is the first map players got to play in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Originally meant to be an extra map in World at War, it instead became an "on-disc" location for Treyarch's next title. This worked to its benefit, as the new engine and similar design to previous maps in the Zombies mode made it into the iconic map it is today.

Kino Der Toten (Theater of the Dead) is excellent for new Black Ops players. Its simple design guides you around either side of the theater through the backstage or onto the stage from the alleyway. Once the power is turned on, the open area on the stage provides plenty of room for pla??yers to eliminate zombies. Pack-a-Punch is as simple as linking one teleporter to the pad the players started the game on as well. It provides a safe spot to upgrade your weapons and a short break from the horde of zombies.

With both paths being li??nked to one another, multiple strategies can be executed by neglecting to open doors on either side of the map, allowing for solid camping strategies utilizing the traps found around the map.

While it's not the most complex map, Kino Der Toten lives in the hearts of many players, as it's a map even the most hardcore Zombies fans will come back to.

Shadows of Evil
Screenshot by Destructoid

9. Shadows of Evil - Black Ops III

Completely contrasting Kino Der Toten is Black Ops III's own on-disc map, Shadows of Evil. With the gameplay shift to more complex maps that started in Origins and Mob of the Dead, Shadows of Evil's H.P. Lovecraft-inspired aesthetic recontextualizes the many mechanics players loved about the Black Ops II maps.

The map consists of a lengthy "set-up phase" in which players must complete four rituals around the map to open the Pack-a-Punch Machine. Players must use Beast Mode to open rooms and activate perk machines, similar to how afterlife mode worked in Mob of the Dead. This is also how pl?ayers will open the central hub underground, ?the main junction between all four locations on the map.

Shadows of Evil includes a plethora of extra content to do once the set-up is complete. You can find symbols hidden in the decor while riding the train, which they can use to unlock a hidden wall underground to begin the quest to gain the Apothicon Swor??d, adding another weapon to their arsenal without taking up a weapon slot. Finding three fuses around the map will also net yo??u the Civil Protector, a mechanical automaton that will help you fight the undead for a short amount of time.

While Shadows of Evil isn't a good map to introduce players to the Zombies mode, it is a perfect map for fans who want not only a challenge but a location with som??ething to do around every corner.

Zombies in Spaceland
Screenshot by Destructoid

8. Zombies in Spaceland - Infinite Warfare

One of the only maps on this list that was not designed by Treyarch, Infinity Ward decided to do their own take on Zombies for Infinite Warfare. Being c??ompletely separated in lore, this iteration was a more comical take on the game mode, introducing a new story, characters, and maps inspired by movie genres of the past.

Their debut map, Zombies in Spaceland, sent pl??ayers to an '80s theme park filled with out-of-this-world attractions and the undead. The gameplay loop was extremely similar to Treyarch's previous entries, with players first unlocking the upgrade machine by using t??hree teleporters around the park.

However, survival wasn't the only thing players could do in Spaceland. The theme park's multiple attractions could be used to help destroy the undead, such as the spinning Escape Velocity or out-of-control bumper cars. The map is filled to the brim with actual interactives as well; playing one of the many arcade ??games in the Astrocade or riding the rollercoaster will net you tickets, which you can then spend on a myriad of helpful gear.

Perks were also included in this new rendition, taking the form of "Perk Candies" but retaining the same effects as in the Treyarch maps. Previously removed perks, such as the PhD Flopper, returned in Infinite Warfare. Some perks were even based on fan suggestions, like Trailblazers, which left a fire trail as a character slid along the ground. Dying in Spaceland doesn't set players too far back?, either. Bleeding out would send you to the Afterlife Arcade, which allows players to complete fun arcade games to jump back into the match without having to wait until the round is over.

Infin?ity Ward managed to make Treyarch's mode their own and, in turn, delivered one of the freshest takes on the mode all without straying away from the original formula.

Der Eisendrache
Screenshot by Destructoid

7. Der Eisendrache - Black Ops III

The first DLC map for Black Ops III brings back the Primis crew, the alternate universe versions of Richtofen, Dempsey, Nikolai, and Takeo that players met in Origins. Der Eise??ndrache, or "The Iron Dragon," takes players to a medieval castle run by the elusive Group 935, where they must fight against the onslaught of undead, including special enemies like the Hellhounds and Panzer Soldats.

Returning from Origins is a Wonder Weapon with four variants, one for each player. After feeding the dragons throughout the map, players can pick up the Wrath of the Ancients. This bow can be upgraded into one of four variants, each with its own devastating effects. The map also introduces low gravity and wall-running, which is part of the BO3's advanced movement system.

Der Eisendrache also begins BO3's main storyline. After completing the Shadows ?of Evil main quest, Richtofen will steal away the Summo??ning Key, a device used to harvest souls, in an attempt to "Secure a Better Tomorrow"

If players choose to, they can work through the main quest to gain access to Ultimis Dempsey's body and save his soul in the summoning key. This culminates in the first official boss fight in Zombies history. The map's replayability, buildable nature, and Wonder Weapons perfectly balance complexity and accessibility, sitting it comfortably on this Call of Duty list.

Urkzikstan
Image via Activision

6. Urzikstan - Modern Warfare III

Even though MW3 Zombies removes the iconic round-based modes, I genuinely believe it is a step in the right direction for the series. Instead of the traditional four-player count, 24 Operators can work together across the infected Urzikstan, giving a new meaning to team camaraderie. You would th??ink that having this many players on deck would make it easier, but it somehow still gets more challenging at every turn.

The map comprises three Threat Level Zones: Low, Medium, and High. Players will initially start off in the Low tier until they are eventually ready to take on the High Threat Zone. You can basically think of it as Round 40 in a standard Zombies run, but with even more challenges than you can imagine. The elite zombies,&n??bsp;from the life-sucking Disciples? to the colossal Mega Abomination, will undoubtedly keep your heart racing.

The Urzikstan map harnesses various Contracts to complete and provides players with Essence, MW3 Zombies currency. Most tasks, such as escort q??uests, guarding specific areas, and bounty takedowns, can be quickly completed. Then, you can take all you?r hard-earned cash over to the Buy Station, Pack-a-Punch, or Perk Cola machines to get some extra buffs.

If you love Zombies lore, the Urikstan map uncovers many secrets tied to past entries in the franchise. These Story Missions are narrative-driven quests that offer objectives to complete to earn valuable rewards. The missions are designed to immerse players in the game's lore and provide a deeper understanding of the Zombies universe. One thing I love about the Story Missions gifts is the Schematics you ga??in from them. Although they come with cooldowns, Operators can build items before entering the map, which, in return, saves a lot of time.

My only issue is the one-hour time limit, which tends to go by in a flash. The previous round-based mechanics allowed players to experience it for countless hours, making MW3 Zombies more restrictive than any other mode. Still, it's one of the most fun I've had in Zombies, ?and Urzikstan has only ??gotten better with its many updates.

Liberty Falls

5. Liberty Falls - Black Ops 6

Despite the initial skepticism from the CoD community about Liberty Falls' brighter setting, this map has proven to be a hidden gem. I know how stressful Zombies mode can get, but this location made jumping into Black Op 6's much more inviting. It's an excellent starting point for beginners, with its manageable size and readily available tools, all set in the heart of a West Virginian town. The map even allows for the acquisition of a Ray Gun ??in the first round through a simple Easter Egg trick at a vending machine.

Don't be fooled by Liberty Fal?ls' compact size i??t's packed with a wealth of content. Every corner of this map holds an Easter Egg, from constructing a free Jet Gun to engaging in disco zombie bowling. The map's many points of interest, including the Church, Olly's Comics, and the Liberty Falls bank, are ripe for exploration and discovery.

The Side Quests, in particular, lead you to the most intriguing journies, often tying into a complex series of steps. Take, for example, the Aetherella Easter Egg, which requires you to find various figurines to unlock the powers of heat vision. I never thought a Zombies mode could include superhuman powers such as this, but I suppose it isn't too out of left field with the mystical abilities of Origins.

Those who assemble the Jet Gun dive further into Liberty Fall's lore, untangling the webs of the Dark Aether outbreak mystery. The fan-favorite Richtofen also makes his mark here, where we see him wielding the powerful Wunderwaffe in the LF cinematic. While he still has yet to come back in-game, new updates for the map will undoubtedly bring forth his return and m??ore content to its thrilling narrative.

Moon

4. Moon - Black Ops

With the release of the Zombies-only "Rezurrection Pack" DLC, Moon marks the end of Black Ops' story. The DLC included all of the World at War maps, as well as the new map, Moon. Starting the map doesn't begin on round one; instead, it begins on a timer in Groom Lake. While players start right next to the Pack-a-Punch machine, an infinite onslaught of zombies will continue to spawn. After a few seconds, they'll pick up speed, making it more dangerous to s??tick around with just a pistol. Once you step onto the teleporter, you'll be transported to the map proper, where you can get a significant head start if you're skilled enough to survive in Groom Lake.

From here, you'll need to put on the PES Suit, as there's no oxygen. Once you turn on the power and activate the life support systems, you can explore the labs without the PES. If you happen to find the Hacker in the labs, you can switch out the PES for one of the most powerful items in all of Zombies.

The hacker can do many things, such as opening any door for 200 points, gifting any player 500 points out of your own pocket, changing any powerup into max ammo, and even refunding perks you d??on't need anymore. If you're playing Moon, you may also notice a zombie in an astronaut suit sporting the name of one of your friends. If caught in the astronaut's grasp, he'll teleport you to a random part of the map and remove one of the perks from your loadout.

Players can teleport back to Groom Lake, as it's the only way to access Juggernog, Speed-Cola, and the Pack-a-Punch Machine. However, every player in the match needs to be on the teleporter pad to make their way back. This adds a co-op element but makes it difficult to head back if someone in the squad? isn'??t playing along. With the right crew, planning trips to Groom Lake can net you and your pals more than enough points to upgrade.

The Hacker also allows players to shield themselves from the horde while Pack-a-Punching. This gives everyone a small reprieve, though the??y'll need to be prepared once the doors open. With Moon being the finale, players see the culmination of all the maps quests, using items they acquired in previous maps, players can conclude the storyline in Moon.

During the Main quest, players will come face to face with Samantha Maxis, the mastermind behind the zombies. Richtofen, in his grand scheme, will control the zombies by switching minds with Samantha, changing the voice lines for the player who's controlling Richtofen. This all culminates in the group firing rockets at the earth, destroying the planet, and setting in motion the events of Black Ops II.

Moon serves as an exciting culmination of Black Ops' Zombies mode, and its inclusion in the Rezurrection DLC proves that Treyarch was taking notice of Zombies' overall popularity.

Terminus

3. Terminus - Black Ops 6

It's hard to choose a favorite with the new Black Ops 6 Zombies maps, but if I had to pick one, it would have to go to Terminus. There's even more to do here, as one of Call of Duty's most extensive round-based Zombies maps to date. Yes, it can?? be challenging, but isn't that what this mode is all about?

You'll begin your adventures in a zombie-filled prison on a remote island in the Philippine Sea. Three AMP Generators must be turned on to activate the power to the facility, thus giving you access to handy tools, such as the Pack-a-Punch machine. Players will assume the roles of the elite Terminus team, an ensemble comprising new and old faces. Easily recognizable Black Ops figures like Dr. William Peck and Grigori Weaver have ret?urned, along with the latest recruit, Maya Aguinaldo. They'll need to do whatever it takes to escape the prison, all to plot their revenge on Richtofen.

Compared to Liberty Falls, Terminus' storyline definitely has the upper hand here. It's a lot more fleshed out and entertaining, especially when you're on the expedition for the Main Quest. This time, instead of the Jet Gun, you'll need to find the parts for the new Beamsmasher, a Wonder Weapon introduced in BO6. The?? weapon proves essential for several Terminus Easter Eggs, ending with the final boss through the Hac??king Device.

Even though I've spent weeks on Terminus, it still feels like I've only scratched the surface. There are so many adventures it has to offer, including one of my favorites, the Cursed Talisman, which almost feels like an ?undead treasure hunt journey. Besides the main island, many plots of land are scattered around the map to up the ante of exploration. And if you look closely enough, you may find an Easter Egg on all of them, either tying into the Main or Side Quests.

Terminus is just a classic Zombies map that's inspired by many of its predecessors. It has that same ominous look of TranZit and? an abundance of Easter Eg?gs like Shadows of Evil. Yet, it also brings something new to the table with its modernized spin on graphics and map size.

Mob of the Dead
Screenshot by Destructoid

2. Mob of the Dead - Black Ops II

Black Ops II's story picked up where Black Ops' left off, giving us a new plotline following a new crew of characters named Victus. However, Mob of the Dead is not a map in their story.

Mob of the Dead instead follows the story of four mobsters trapped in purgatory on Alcatra??z Island. Sal Deluca, Finn O'Leary, Billy ?Handsome, and Al "The Weasel" Arlington find themselves in a twisted version of their prison where the undead run rampant, and the warden aims to lock up their souls forever.

This is the first taste of more complex maps that would become the norm in the second half of Black Ops II's life cycle and into Black Ops III. Players would spawn as souls in the new Afterlife mode, and a mechanic where going DBNO turns you into a ghost. Aside from being able to revive yourself, Afterlife allows players to see passageways a??nd secrets only visible through their ethereal form, introducing specific w??ays to open up the prison's many secret rooms. There's not a single power switch that powers on everything; rather, electrical boxes players need to shock are spread around the map, and Afterlife's electric blast is the only way to power them on.

Around the map are also three hellhound heads, feeding each head a group of zombies gives them the Hell's Retriever, a tomahawk that can be thrown like a boomerang to pick up powerups, or kill groups of zombies.?? Mob's Wonder Weapon, the Blundergat, is a four-barreled shotgun that shoots one blast at a time, a powerful weapon on its own, and when upgraded into the Acid-Gat, it can easily dispatch hordes. Pack-a-Punching the Acid Gat causes its bolts to attract zombies, turning a powerful weapon into an even more robust tool.

Every so often, "The Warden" will appear, a powerful special zombie with unique abilities. For one, he'l??l disable any Perk Machine, buildable table, or mystery box in his path, forcing the player to chalk up 2000 points to reopen it. Once you knock off his helmet, the warden will then cover himself in a smokescreen before charging at you once more. While this doesn't do anything to mask the warden, it does obfuscate any other enemies you may be fighting.

The real meat and potatoes of the map are how players will access Pack-a-Punch. Around the map are several pieces players need to find to build a plane to escape from Alcatraz. Finding all of them and boarding the plane will send the mobsters flying, only to have them crash on? the Golden Gate Bridge, where the only escape is via electri??c chair. Once you come back, you'll have to refuel the plane to go again.

If you complete the main quest, you'll be greeted with an audio tour of the prison, while fighting the horde you'll uncover the story of the mobsters, as they planned their escape in the same way as they do in the map. However, the plane you fly to Pack-a-Punch on was never built, as Finn, Sal, and Billy kill Al on the roof of the prison. The three are sentenced to death for the murder of Al, placing the four in the events of Mob of the Dead. Once you fly to the Golden Gate Bridge for the final time, the mobsters will have to face off with Al once more, though this time, Al is aided by the zombies, which is the only PvP zombies interaction in the series' history. Whether the mobsters won or Al survived, the game would end, giving Zombies its first-ever win condition.

Mob of the Dead was a taste of what the new age of Zombies was going to be. Players were given a checklist of tasks to complete, with optional quests an??d buildables to make survival easier. This blend of set-up? and casual survival, combined with the grungy, otherworldly aesthetic, makes Mob of the Dead a one-of-a-kind map.

Origins

1. Origins - Black Ops II

The final map to release in Black Ops II is a refinement of some of the mechanics found in Mob of the Dead. Although, what Origins did that Mob didn't, was refine what would become the standard for Zombies maps going forward in the Black Ops series.

Taking place "on the battlefields of the great war," players would once again take control of the classic characters, Richtofen, Dempsey, Nikolai, and Takeo. However, these characters were different from the inherently goofy and sarcastic versions they had been removed from since Black Ops. These characters were more mature, refined, and grounded. ????The world around them was not.

Origins took place in an alternate, steampunk timeline, where giant robots roamed the WWI trenches, and zombies terrorized the battlefield. The map was split into multiple sections, as players had to hold out on six generators to activate the Pack-a-Punch, excavated from the mysterious dig site that caused the zombie o?utbreak.

Players would find pieces of magic staffs throughout the map by either entering the robot by shooting a hatch as it stepped on them or digging them up during the brief times it snowed. Finding the gra?mophone and record item would open magic portals around the battlefield, allowing players to find a gem to complete their staff. with four? buildable staffs, each player was able to wield a powerful Wonder Weapon, allowing them to incinerate, freeze, electrocute, or blow away hordes of zombies with ease.

At round eight, a Panzer Soldat would spawn in, a powerful enemy with a flamethrower and a grappling hook, ensnaring anyone in its way. If you could survive that long, Origins kept you busy by having templar zombies attack the generators, forcing you ??to move to and stop them before you had to hold out on more difficult rounds.

Origins mini-boss
Image via Treyarch

Challenges were also introduced as a main mechanic, permitting players to complete objectives to unlock speci??al rewards. Getting 115 headshots rewarded you with a free Pack-a-Punched weapon, while spending 30,000 points? awarded you a bottle of Double Tap, letting you bypass the perk limit.

Any perk that wasn't available as a machine could be found in the Wunder-Fizz, which functioned like the Mystery Box but for perks. Origins did retain its four-perk limit, but you could increase the number of perks you could hold by upgrading your shovel. Once you acquired the gold shovel by using it enough, using the new powerup Zom??bie Blood, would allow you to see special dig spots invisible by normal means, digging them would give you a free perk. Digging enough spots with the golden shovel would net players with the golden helmet, preventing them from taking any damage when being stepped on by the giant robots.

The main quest would see players freeing Samantha from Agartha, though much like the new crew, this Samantha was different, guiding players through the mission, rather than acting as the antagonist. Completing the Easter Egg ended the game, much like Mob of the Dead. However, this ending was a fully animated cutscene, where players discovered that the events of the map were nothing but action fig?ures being played in Samantha's imagination...

...At least, that's what players assumed... until the plot of Black Ops III changed everything.

Origins sits atop the list of 15 best Call of Duty Zombies maps not just because of how influential it is to the series but also because of its intuitive set-up phase, its many side objectives, its powerful Wonder Weapon??s, and its entertaining and challenging main quest. It remains a map that fans will always come back to, no matter what mood they are in, as it readily satisfies every pl??ayer's zombie-slaying needs.

Unlike past titles, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launched with an entirely new set of maps rather than reusing old ones, but unfortunately, not all of them are hits, exactly. Here are the worst maps in Black Ops 6.

Ranking the Worst Maps in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

Black Ops 6 was released with a healthy selection of 14 unique maps, which is quite modest for a Call of Duty title. Not all maps were created equa??l though, and of these 14, some of them are, let's just say, not as appetizing to play on as others.

Red Card

Starting with the absolute worst map in the game, Red Card is a really cool concept on paper but plays awful in-game. Not only is it on the large side of the spectru??m (meaning a lot more run??ning around and less shooting), but it has quite a few genuine problems that affect how it flows, regardless of the game mode it's being played on.

Red Card in Black Ops 6
Screenshot by Destructoid

My biggest gripe with it is the stadium section?? of the map. Despite being able to move all about the area, much of it is oddly out of bounds, leading to really frustrating situations where you'd think an aggressive action would be beneficial, only to be hard stopped by the out-of-bounds warning in the middle of your screen. Then, there's the hallway of death, where one team is at an elevated, advantageous position, and the other has to push through a thin corridor leading toward said position. Everyone loves chokepoints, right?

Vault

Even though Vault is right next to Red Card on this list, know that I consider Red Card far worse than Vault by all metrics. ??That said, Vault still makes the list because of its sheer size. It is most certainly a map where the game mode you're playing on matters a lot.

Vault in Black Ops 6
Screenshot by Destructoid

Generally, playing an objective mode ??like Domination or Hardpoint tends to make Vault a reasonable play experience (still not great though). The moment Team Deathmatch or Kill Confirmed shows up though, the flow of the map breaks into pieces, leading to really random-feeling spawns and encounters that are hard to predict.

Lowtown

In the middle of the worst maps of Black Ops 6 is Lowtown, a map that, like Vault, plays much better on objective game modes. Lowtown is a map that sometimes feels like a maze. I've played this map dozens of times at this point, and I still feel like there are places I've never even seen on it because of how big it is, especially on the outskirts. Then, there's the water aspect, which includes tunnels you can swi??m up and round to flank enemies. It is definitely one of the more confusing maps on the list.

Lowtown in Black Ops 6
Screenshot by Destructoid

The biggest issue with Lowtown, as I mentioned, is the game mode you're on. Dominatio??n plays well enough on it, but point B is such a difficult point t?o capture due to the small amount of cover and significant sight lanes around it. Oftentimes, if a team is entrenched on the point, it becomes incredibly hard to break through. This is a minor gripe though, as there are many flank lanes on this map that allow attempts at it, along with reaching the other points. On non-objective modes though, this map just feels awful to play on for similar reasons to Vault.

Vorkuta

So you may be starting to notice a trend with this list. Vorkuta is not a terrible map if you're playing it on an objective game mod??e. In fact, I'd argue it plays very well with objectives in mind. It's large, but not so much that lanes become blurry. It also has long sight lanes, allowing for all manner of play to do well. It makes this list because the moment the objective becomes 'kill the enemy', the flow of it falls apart.

Vorkuta in Black ps 6
Screenshot by Destructoid

It's a big map meaning lots of places for random spawns. You may find yourself often being shot in the back on Vorkuta because certain spawns just allow the enemy to do so easily. The spawns on this map are the main reason it's on my list. ??I think they're terrible generally, but manageable as long as an objective is the focal point.

SCUD

The last map on this list, SCUD, suffe?rs from all the same problems Vorkuta does, only I feel they are not nearly as bad. You will spawn behind an enemy line often, which leads to being shot in the back often. It's annoying. It's a drag when it happens. For SCUD, it's not as common, but it does occur. Also, like every other map on this list, the map plays considerably better wit??????????????????????????h an objective in mind, and not just mindless Team Deathmatch.

SCUD in Black Ops 6
Screenshot by Destructoid

My biggest issue with this map is how sniper-friendly it is. I'd argue it is the most snipe-friendly map on ?this list, as there are literal sniper nests built into the map. Now don't misunderstand. I completely get that there are numerous counters to snipers in Black Ops 6. However, I'm the type of player who prefers not dealing with them if I can help it. That said, I enjoy snipers on objective modes here, as it often means the enemy team won't take the objective. This map is big enough for snipers to sit in their nests and take po?tshots without getting anywhere to an actual objective, which is a benefit as long as it is happening on the other team.

Treyarch might have released a major patch for Call of Duty Black Ops 6 to fix some of the existing bugs and improve overall balance, but there might have been a collateral hit?? along the way.

Certain users are reporting receiving less XP after completing their games. Interestingly, there wasn't any mention in the patch notes about any work being?? done on XP rewards after finishing a game. Sadly, several players are now finding the grind pretty hard due to what seems like an unintended change on Treyarch's part.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 XP bug explained

The November 4 update introduced some major rework? if you have gone through the patch notes. Only the Face Off modes were targeted for improper XP rewards, and those who played would know ex?actly how easy it was to farm XP in that mode.

The same bit of the patch might have accidentally resulted in the other modes giving out nerfed XP rewards. I have already noticed that the amount of XP you get from Nuketown?? is no longer the same. But as i??t turns out, I am not the only one, and a few other members on Reddit have already reported on the same issue.

//www.reddit.com/r/blackops6/comments/1gjz72p/was_all_xp_nerfed/?embed_host_url=//www.windowscentral.com/gaming/call-of-duty-black-ops-6-xp-gains-are-a-mess-right-now-as-the-latest-patch-seems-to-have-unintended-nerfs-for-players

Officially, there has been no reduction in the amount of XP you get after finishing matches in Call of Duty Black Ops 6. I haven't noticed any obvious iss??ue with the XP you get in the Zombies mode. ?But multiplayer definitely has some issues as of writing.

Since there's no mention of such a change in the patch notes, it's most likely a bug. In that case, I would expect it to be fixed pretty quickly so that we can all get back to our usual rate of camo grinding. Until then, prepare to expect a lot of frustration and longer waiting time to unloc?k the different camos, especially those that are unlocked at higher prestige levels.

As for camos, you can unlock plenty of them across the Zombies and Multiplayer modes. Here's the complete list of all skins that can be obtained for free by c??ompleting different achievements.

In the LMG category, the PU-21 is the premium choice for raw damage per bullet in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Its recoil is a bit unwieldy, but the best builds focus on reducing this downside ??so that you can effectively use?? it at all ranges

The PU-21 is the very first LMG you have access to. The game automatically unlocks the PU-21 at level 4, letting you equip ??it in any custom loadout. Let's explore the best build for the PU-21.

What is the best build for the PU-21 in Black Ops 6?

As mentioned, the PU-21 does the most damage per bullet of any LMG, making it a strong contender for those looking to put down targets in just a few shots. As with all LMGs, it has a slow ADS (Aim Down Sights) a??nd relatively poor handling stats. The downsides are its shaky recoil and lower RoF, but these can ??be mitigated with the correct attachment build equipped to it. This build focuses on reducing the PU-21's downsides so that it can be used in any situation, whether it be point defense or aggressive gameplay.

  • Optic: Accu-Spot Ultra Holo
  • Muzzle: Ported Compensator
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Magazine: Fast Mag 1
  • Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
  • Stock: Infiltrator Stock
  • Fire Mods: Rapid Fire

PU-21 Customize - Black ops 6
Screenshot by Destructoid

Optics are always a personal preference, but I've found that the Accu-Spot Ultra Holo strik?es the perfect balance for all combat scenarios and engagement distances. It offers a clear sight line, allowing you to make moment-to-moment adjustments to remain on target.

With a Ported Compensator attached??, the PU-21 is far more controllable with reduced vertical recoil and a more n??????????????????????????ormalized first-shot recoil, improving accuracy.

Using the Reinforced Barrel, the PU-21 is more of a threat to distant targets thanks to ??its already high damage profile, allowing you to bring down enemies at any range in just a few shots. It won't be common to outgun snipers, thanks to? this attachment.

Equip this weapon with a Vertical Foregrip to reduce its horizontal recoil, improving its accuracy. This means this weapon's side-to-side shake w??hile firing full-auto will be much more controlled.

PU-21 in training - Black Ops 6
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Fast Mag 1 dramatically improves the PU-21's handling stats, allowing you to ADS faster and be ready to fire more quickly after a sprint. This allows a fighting chance against enemies?? that ambush you.

Equipping the Quickdraw Grip massively boosts your ADS speed, improving the weapon??'s ??handling during combat engagements.

With the Infiltrator Stock, your ADS strafe speed is increased, allowing you some solid mobility in the middle of an activ?e firefight. The faster you can move with A??DS, the harder it is for your enemies to hit you.

Lastly, using the Rapid Fire attachment removes the low rate of fire lim?itation on the PU-21 at the expense of some Damage Range and increased recoil. However, these negatives pale in comparis??on to the incredible DPS (Damage Per Second) increase this weapon gets with Rapid Fire attached.

Best Equipment and Perks for the LR 7.62 in Black Ops 6

With the above attachments, th??e PU-21 is a strong all-rounder weapon that can be used anywhere. As such, the Equipment and Perks you should use with it should be within the same vein of logic, further boosting the build's versatility.

  • Tactical: Flash Bang or Stim Shot
  • Lethal: Semtax or Molotov
  • Field Upgrade: Assault Pack
  • Perk 1: Flak Jacket
  • Perk 2: Fast Hands
  • Perk 3: Quartermaster
  • Wildcard: Gunfighter

Thanks to Gunfighter, you can fully kit out the PU-21 with the above-mentioned attachments. With all three Perks being green, you also have access to the Strategist Speciality, allowing you to see enemy equipment through walls. This also lets you throw down your own Equipment and F?ield Upgrades much faster than normal. The rest of the mentioned Equipment is designed to be largely your own choice, dependent on the situation, but the ones I mentioned will fit most anyway. Still, feel free to change things to your liking as needed.

The Model L is a capable gun in Call of Duty Black Ops 6 with its respectable damage and mid-range ?advantages.?? However, it does have some faults that need to be remedied and can be done with the loadout you choose.

??So here's the best Model L loadout in Call of Duty Black Ops 6.

The Model L Call of Duty Black Ops 6 loadout you should use

The Model L is a full-auto assault rifle that is slow at firing but has great accuracy, making it great?? at mid-ranged gunfire. To help? enhance its accuracy and improve its firepower, here are the recommended attachments:

  • Optic: Accu-Spot Ultra Holo
  • Muzzle: Muzzle Brake
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Precision Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag I
  • Rear Grip: Commando Grip
  • Stock: Balanced Stock
  • Fire Mod: 5.56 NATO Overpressured

Best Model L loadout in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Screenshot by Destructoid

You can get eight attachments if you use the Gunfighter Wildcard. Otherwise, you're stuck with five.

Why should you choose this loadout?

The Optic is completely up to you, but the Model L should have a 3x optic as it's suited for mid-range combat. I picked the Accu-Spot Ultra Holo optic as the Willis 3X reduces your Aim Down Sight Speed. Next, for the Muzzle, go for the Muzzle Brake. It gives you further control over your gunfire and increases the Kick Reset Speed. If you want to go for a stealthy build, choose the Suppressor as it removes your shots from the mini-map.

Moving on, the Barrel should be the Reinforced Barrel as it increases your Damage Range and Bullet Velocity. This is great for mid to long-ranged fights and significantly improves the Firepower of the Model L. The Precision Foregrip should be the next pickup in the Underbarrel section. It improves Aim?ing Idle Sway and Horizontal Recoil Control, giving even further accurac??y.

It's always best to have more ammo at the ready, so an Extended Mag I is your best pick for the Magazine. If you want to improve the speed of your gun, however, the Fast Mag I is not a bad shout either because it improves Reload Quickness, Aim Down Sight Speed, and S?print to Fire Speed. As it's a mid-range gun, however, it's not as suited to close-q?uarters scenarios.

Thankfully, you can significantly increase the Aim Down Sight Speed of the gun with the Quickdraw Grip as your Rear Grip. You don't need the Sprint to Fire Speed and Slide to Fire Speed from other attachments as this gun shouldn't be as mobile as the XM4 and the Goblin Mk2.

The Balanced Stock improves many factors of the Model L, including Strafing ??Movement Speed, Hipfire Movement Speed, Movement Speed, and Aim Walking Movement Speed, making the gun more adaptable to short-ranged and mid-ranged encounters.

Lastly, you'll want the 5.56 NATO Overpressured Fire Mod on the Model L. It will help you counter the gun's slow-firing capa??bilities.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 local multiplayer is something many fans want as it's been a part of the series for decades. Playing against your friends or with the??m in co-op on the couch is a memory many cherish and would like to resume in 2024 and beyond.

Is Call of Duty Black Ops 6 split-screen-capable with friends?

Thankfully, you can play both the zombies mode and multiplayer with split-screen functionality. There's a catch, however. PS4, Xbox One, and PC Call of Duty Black Ops 6 players can't use split-screen and are only able to play with one player at all times. Only those on PS5? and Xbox Series X|S can play a round of Team Deathmatch with a mate on the couch with split-screen. Simply connect the second controller and have them press A or the cross button at the lobby.

Screenshot by Destructoid

The pos??itive is that the split-screen covers the entire screen with no cut-off sections. It's fully 16:9. It doesn't seem like you can play compet?itively against each other, however. I've tried to start a local multiplayer match under the "Private Match" mode and it didn't connect a second controller.

Does Call of Duty Black Ops 6 need to connect online?

Unfortunately, you'll need to always be online while playing Call of Duty Black Ops 6, even for the single-player campaign. This means that LAN has become obsolete. At least, some form of Black Ops 6 loca?l multiplayer is supported? through split-screen.

Do you need a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass to play Call of Duty Black Ops 6 online?

If you're playing the game on PS4 and PS5, you'll need at least PlayStation Plus Essential to access Call of Duty Black Ops 6's multiplayer matchmaking. This is the same with Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S users with Xbox Game Pass Core and up. Thankfully, both of these services come with free games each month. November 2024, for example, has Ghostwire Tokyo and Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 included with your subscription.

Since the launch of BO6, the Sniper Rifle class seems to have gotten the short end of the stick. The gun's slow move?ment speed makes it almost impossible to use in Multiplayer's fast-paced rounds, where Assault Rifles, SMGs, and Shotguns take point.

If you want to make this weapon class more accessible, we're here to show you how to get Sniper Headshots easily in Black Ops 6.

How to easily get Headshot Kills with Sniper Rifles in BO6

Use the following tips to get Sniper Rifle Headshot Kills quickly in BO6:

  • Equip the LW3A1 Frostline
  • Use attachments that help with ADS, like the Target Laser
  • Throw out Shock Charge before initiating the kill
  • Utilize blue-colored perks for better sneak attacks
  • Use the Gunfight Wildcard
  • Play Face Off Moshpit and get easier headshots
  • Participate in Domination mode
  • Get easier headshots in the more medium-sized Core maps

First off, you should probably start with the LW3A1 Frostline. Thanks to its easier-to-handle ADS speed, it's one of the best Sniper Rifles in BO6.

While this particular class may not always be the greatest with ADS, there are w??ays to compensate for it. The Target Laser, for instance, is a powerful tool that reduces ADS weapon sway, enhancing your accuracy. Despite the enemy being able to see the laser, this should? not deter you from using it effectively.

Target Laser in BO6
Screenshot by Destructoid

You can also attach the Weighted Pad and Compensator to ??up the stats of your recoil control. The better the handling, the better you??r chances are at quick Sniper Headshot Kills.

The rest of your Sniper Rifle loadout should cater to Quickscope and long-range kills. In particular, the Shock Charge is an excellent way to stun your opponent temporarily, giving you eno??ugh time for a quick and easy headshot. But, if you're trying to stay in one place, opt for the Prox Alarm to detect any nearby enemy movements.

For Perks, stick with any blue-colored abilities to get the Recon Speciality. While Ghost allows you to remain undetectable with Scout Pulses and UAVs, Ninja lets you move more quietly. Those who want to be agile with Sniper Rifles should pick the latter. But if you're a stationary type of play?er, go for Ghost. Other blue-color??ed perks, like Vigilance and Engineer, are good to use, too. However, you can always change it to suit your play style better.

The Gunfighter Wildcard can be your last touch, providing three extra attachments to your loadout. Decking out your build to the fullest is your best bet at Sniper Headshots in Black Ops 6, increasing the weapon's stats all around.

Best BO6 maps and modes to use for Sniper Rifle Headshot Kills

Although the Face Off Moshpit features small-sized maps, they offer some of the best lanes in BO6. That means you'll have more chances at a clear straight shot, especially if you've landed on maps like Gala and Warhead. I'v??e seen many players get easy Headshot Kills in Gal??a, specifically when the opposite side camps near the campaign stand. However, Pit and Stakeout make those headshots slightly more challenging, given that they are designed for fast-paced fights.

If you're using the Core playlists, maps such as Derelict, Protocol, and Vault p?rovide a few places for Sniper Rifle enthusiasts. You can use high vantage points in these locations, which are perfect for setting up shop with your sniper.

You'll need 100 Headshot Kills to unlock the exclusive Red Tiger camo. Each Sniper Rifle comes with this challenge, so using the tips mentioned above is essential. We may also anticipate an SR buff so??on in light of the feedback from many players. It's just a matter of time until we get more accessibility with this beloved class.

If there was one thing CoD players were calling for action, it has to be the desire to nerf the all-powerful Recon perk. And after much player feedback, the developers have?? finally answered the call with the new Black Ops 6 patch.

The Recon Perk has been on everyone's radar since BO6's release, where users can see enemies through walls after respawn. It also flashes a HUD indicator when someone's outside your view, similar to the classic High Alert ability. Altho?ugh it's a convenien??t feature, some have taken advantage of it by pre-firing toward the opponent's direction, making for an easy kill. You can think of it as a spawn trap, creating an unbalanced experience for those without it.

Screenshot by Destructoid

The BO6 Nov. 4 patch now reduces the duration of the highlighted enemies, lowering it from two seconds to 1.5. It also removes the ability to trigger it after changing loadouts, as some have found a way to trick the system. These changes are a step towards a more balanced gameplay, with more adjustments for Recon expected in Season 1.

As someone who utilizes the Recon perk, I did feel like the nerf was much needed. The ?pre-firing and the Wall Bangs are too out of hand, especially for? those participating in the highly restrictive Hardcore mode. Hopefully, the new patch will help balance the system. Maybe it could, at the very least, function the same way as a Snapshot Grenade, which shows enemies within its blast radius.

The Recon Perk wasn't the only thing nerfed in BO6's latest patch. In particular, the duration of the Flashbang Tactical screen effect showcases a 20 percent reduction. I'm happy to see this change, primarily since? I always felt like it lasted way too lo?ng. Another good one is the solution for the early Killcams issue. With this problem, many players, including myself, spawned into a match, only to end up on the Killcam the second they started. Spawn tuning will continue to receive improvements as the team takes in more data from Multiplayer.

Last but not least are the alterations to Assault Rifles and Submachine guns. Some players have noted that SMGs?? haven't quite lived up to the damage of the Assault Rifle c??lass. Now, the new update decreases the minimum damage range and headshot impact for ARs, while SMGs show a general increase in these rates. This is another feature I'm stoked to see as someone who loves both classes.

Of course, the developers still have plenty of other issues to tackle, from Sniper Rifle buffs to Zombies freezing glitches. Season 1 will likely provide more of these changes to get Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in tip-top shape.

Your choice of a display name is one of the most crucial elements of your CoD build, along with weapons and perks. Sometimes, you may want to change this title, whether because ??of an embarrassing decision you made in your youn?ger days or the desire for a simple refresher.

Whatever your reason, you have the power to change your display name in Black Ops 6. Here's how.

How do you change your display name in BO6?

You can change your display name on the Activision website or in-game. To do so in-game, go to Settings and choose 'Account & Network'. Select 'Activision Account' to reach the Change Display Name page. Using the Token system, you'll only have roughly two chances to alter your display name in BO6.

Changing display name in BO6
Screenshot by Destructoid

One Token lets you change your name, requiring you to restart the game after initiating the alteration. You'll receive two of these items at the beginning of your Black Ops 6 journey. Then, you'll get another Token after every six months. Since this feature is relatively limited,?? it's best to double-check your username to get the right one for you.

You may also change your BO6 display name when logging into your Activision account via PC or mobile. Head to your Profile section and press 'Basic Info'. Scroll down to Activision ID and change it from there. The Tokens rule stil??l applies here, with ??a limit of two annual alterations. You'll need to verify your email to access specific Activision features like this if you cannot change it.

In some cases, you may receive an automatic requirement to change your display name, as several players have encountered this occurrence. Those who get this prompt likely have an inappropriate title, so they must find a better-suited one. You won't be able to access the game otherwise, or Activision ??may change the title for you.

Although its semi-automatic function will require some getting used to, the high damage per shot with the Goblin Mk2 Loadout makes it one of the best in Call of Duty Black Ops 6.

As you can expect, however, the assault rifle will also demand a lot of care if you wish to compete with some of its meta siblings, such as the AS Val and XM4. Here's the best Goblin Mk2 loadout in Call of Duty Black Ops 6.

The Best Goblin Mk2 Loadout in Call of Duty Black Ops 6

As being able to take aim fast and make every shot count will be a must when using the Goblin Mk2, we will start by adding a non-magnifying optic for better tracking and the Muzzle Brake and Vertical Foregrip for a huge boost in recoil mitigation and a guarantee your gun will stay on target no matter the scenario. To further boost its overall performance and above all its damage, we will then add the Gain-Twist Barrel for a welcome 35% increase in bullet velocity and the Rapid Fire mod for a much-needed 11% boost in fire rate. ??

But we're just getting started, as the Goblin Mk2 needs a bit more to excel, which in this case means using the extra modification slots courtesy of the Gunfighter Wildcard to further boost your movement with the Balanced Stock and add a welcome boost in ADS Speed with the Quickdraw Grip. If you are finding yourself out of bullets often, adding the Extended Mag I ca?n also help, althoug?h at the cost of both handling and ADS Speed.

To recap, here's the best Goblin Mk2 loadout in Call of Duty Black Ops 6, as well as a few lowe?r-level alternatives offeri??ng similar results:

  • Optic: Kepler Microflex / Remuda Mini Reflex
  • Muzzle: Muzzle Brake / Ported Compensator
  • Barrel: Gain-Twist Barrel / Using the Long Barrel can also work
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag I (Only if using Gunfighter / Not a must)
  • Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip (Only if using Gunfighter)
  • Stock: Balanced Stock (Only if using Gunfighter)
  • Fire Mods: Rapid Fire / Recoil Springs (Will further boost recoil control at the cost of per millisecond damage)

The best perks and equipment for the Goblin MK2

Since you cannot expect the Mk2 to put up a fight against full-auto weapons in honest confrontations, we will use a full set of Recon perks to enhance your ability to move in undetected and put your opponents on the back foot. I also highly recommend taking the Grekhova as your secondary, as the weapon's full-auto function will boost your options. You can check out which perk??s we recommend you pick, as well as a deeper view of all of the best equipm?ent for the Goblin Mk2 below:

  • Secondary Weapon: Grekhova / GS45
  • Tactical: Smoke / Flashbang
  • Lethal: Frag / Sentex / Impact Grenade
  • Field Upgrade: Sleeper Agent / Morphine Injection (Will pair well with both our chosen pistols)
  • Perk #1: Ninja (Reduces the noise you make when moving)
  • Perk #2: Forward Intel (Will boost your minimap size and point you toward revealed enemies)
  • Perk #3: Cold-Blooded (Makes you undetectable with UAV and immune to thermal. Will also make you immune to spy cams and stop enemy killstreaks from tracking you).
  • Specialty: Recon (Will allow you to spot enemies across the map after respawning. You won't leave skulls behind after killing hostiles)
  • Wildcard: Gunfighter

The Best Goblin MK2 BO6 Zombies Loadout

As you can see above, the best Goblin Mk2 loadout for Zombies will be almost identical to its multiplayer one, with the only differences being in the presence of the Suppressor for a great boost in Salvage collection and that of the Tactical Laser. The latter will be vital here, as although using the weapon in this mode will still be cruel to your hands —to say the leastthe ability to enter the Tac Stance will make dealing with swarms way easier. To recap, here are the best attachments for those looking to use the Goblin Mk2 in BO6 Zombies:

  • Optic: Kepler Microflex
  • Muzzle: Suppressor
  • Barrel: Gain-Twist Barrel / Using the Long Barrel can also work
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag I (Not a must)
  • Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
  • Stock: Balanced Stock
  • Laser: Tactical Laser

To close our loadout, go with the Stim Shot as your Tactical for survivability. No matter if you are playing solo or in a squad, I recommend going with either? the Healing Aura or the Aether Shroud as your initial Field Upgrade.

A fan-favorite given its full-auto function, the Grekhova is widely considered to be in a tier of its own when compared to the remaining pistols in Call of Duty Black Ops 6.

But as you can expect, awakening the gun's true potential as a primary weapon in all but name will demand a very thoughtful selection of attachments. Here's the best Grekhova loadout in Call of Duty Black Ops 6.

The Best Grekhova Loadout in Call of Duty Black Ops 6

Since the Grekhova has its significant recoil as its biggest weakness, we will start by mitigating that through the use of the Weighted Stock and Muzzle Brake, which will reduce the accumulated impact when shooting and offer a massive boost in overall control. I cannot overs??tate how important the stock is here, as it will allow you to keep the gun almost static during long bursts while also giving you access to a tactical-like stance.

To make up for the loss in ADS Speed, the above will make sure you can take aim fast. Then, we add the Ergonomic Grip to the mix. Lastly, go with the Long Barrel for a welcome boost in range and with the Recoil Springs Fire Mod f?or a further boost i??n recoil mitigation.

The best Grekhova loadout in Call of Duty Black Ops 6.

If you are confident in your ability to score constant headshots, going with the CQB Grip in place of the Ergonomic Grip can also work, given its welcome DMG bonus. In the same way, using the Extended Mag I in place of our chosen Fire Mod can help those looking for a few extra bullets per magazine. To recap, here are the best modifications for the Grekhova in Call of Duty Black Ops 6.

  • Muzzle: Muzzle Brake
  • Barrel: Long Barrel
  • Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip / Quickfire Grip / CQB Grip
  • Stock: Weighted Stock
  • Fire Mods: Recoil Springs

Although fully capable of putting up a front against even meta picks, I don'?t recommend building your equipment selection around the Grekhova. Instead, the secondary shines the most when approa??ched as an alternative in loadouts not using the Overkill Wildcard. Needless to say, its full-auto function also makes the gun the perfect pairing for the Morphine Injection Field Upgrade.

The Best Grekhova BO6 Zombies Loadout

As you can see above, our recommended BO6 Zombies loadout for the Grekhova will retain the foundation of our best multiplayer build while adding the Suppressor for a welcome boost in Salvage collection. We will also be replacing the Ergonomic with the Quickfire Grip, as ADS Speed will be way more vital here. Unfortunately for all who were hoping to go full Dante, the gun's lack of hip-fire accuracy makes its Akimbo performance underwhelming, to say the least. To recap, here's the best Grekhova build for Zombies:

  • Muzzle: Suppressor
  • Barrel: Long Barrel
  • Rear Grip: Quickfire Grip (ADS Speed will affect the transitions when using the Weighted Stock) / Alternative: CQB Grip (Its boost in headshot DMG can be extremely valuable)
  • Stock: Weighted Stock
  • Fire Mods: Recoil Springs (Going with the Extended Mag I Magazine Attachment can also work for those having trouble reloading in peace)

Now that you know how to set up your gun, I recommend that you go with either the Energy Mine or the Aether Shroud a?s your Field Upgrade at first. Tactical and Lethal-wise, the ??Stim Shot is the best when the subject is survivability, while the Molotov is a favorite of many when in the early rounds.

The first time I hopped into the Black Ops 6 beta, I was hooked. So much so that when it ended, Modern Warfare 3 just couldn't cut it for me anymore.

So, now that Black Ops 6 is finally out in the world, I no longer have to look outside the window on a rainy day in the hopes of getting back that magnificent Omnimovement. Even though the bar was already set high, Black Ops 6 still exceeded my expectations, making me understand why I became a Call of Duty fan in the first place. It's brought back the only thing I ever want in video games: fun. Just pure e?ntertainment with a touch of?? ragequits here and there.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S [Reviewed], PC)

Developer: Treyarch, Raven Software, Beenox, High Moon Studios, Activision Shanghai, Sledgehammer Games, Infinity Ward, Demonware

Publisher: Activision

Released: October 25, 2024

MSRP: $69.99

Black Ops 6, like most Call of Duty entries, comes in three layers: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies. Although the campaigns don't normally get the spotl??ight, I still immensely enjoyed this aspect. Transporting us to the hip '90s, every step in this narrative is rich with history, featuring easily recognizable figures like Bill Clinton. I always appreciate when games incorporate a bit of history, providin?g a unique learning experience.

The timeline takes place after the events of Black Ops Cold War, bringing back key cha??racters like Frank Woods and Russell Adler. You'll primarily play as the new hotshot, Case, a man of few words. The team's goal is to investigate the Pantheon, a paramilitary force with the power to instill fear with their governmental conspiracies. They'll turn everyone against you and your team, and it's up to you to get some justice.

Russel Adler

You'll switch back and forth between the safe house and the mission, setting up your strategies first and then carrying out the plan after. Most quests also have the choice to go guns blazing, like most CoD entries, or play it out without making a sound. I would say it's a mixture of Grand Theft Auto 5's team-based heists and Metal Gear Solid's Tactical Espionage. It's something different for the Call of Duty world for sure, and it adds more replayability?? with t??he many ways it can be played.

The story itself isn't the most monumental, especially in comparison to the original Black Ops' thrilling narrative. Nevertheless, its cinematics and brutal takedowns will make you feel like you're some action hero in a movie. The kitchen fight, especially, got my heart pumping, ending with an enemy's head getting boiled up in a fryer. The character and environmental visuals make it even better in light of how realistic they truly are. Sometimes, I would forget it was a vide??o game just because of how true to life the characters looked.

CoD's multiplayer has finally reached its peak

Considering that Black Ops 6's Campaign only lasts for five to six hours, the real stars of the show are Multiplayer and Zombies. Since BO6's release, I've spent hours on end in both modes, and I can't get enough. Despite my initial hesitation about the '90s-inspired weapons (I can't help it. I like my modern stuff, okay?), I've thoroughly enjoyed the available weaponry. Wielding each gun feels much more smooth than my time in Modern Warfare 3. Combining it with Omnimovement furthers it's easy to move mechanics, and it's quite possibly bec??ome my favorite FPS gameplay because of it.

Since it's so smooth to play, I feel like everyone's been on their A game, bringing out those "sweat lobbies" that almost every shooter player has experienced. The maps, in particular, add to the challenge, primarily the small-sized Face Off locations. Skyline, Derelict, and Warhead are my top picks, with their unique points of interest. There are so many hidden spots you can use on these maps, giving you more opportunities for those surprise enemy attacks. What's more, Nuketown has rolled out for the game's post-launch, which will likely be my next favorite on the list. It's already brought a sense of nostalgia to see this beloved map return, stemming from the classic Call of Duty: Black Ops.

I would still like to see more maps in the future since there isn't too much variety in BO6's locations. Plus, there are some that I dread playing, like Vorkuta and Stakeout. They aren't the most fun to play, given how easy it is for other players to target you (it could just be a skill issue on my end, though). The spawn traps ??have also become a problem; some have used this tactic to farm kills at an annoying rate.

In some cases, I've noticed that the TTK (Time to Kill) isn't the greatest. On the one hand, I feel like the CoD goat with the many instant eliminations. Then, other times, I feel like I don't deserve to be called an FPS player at all the longer it takes to br?ing the enemy down. However, as more updates roll out, it's slowly getting more balanced with TTKs.

Classic Zombies is back and better than ever

Now that we've dug into Multiplayer and the Campaign, it's time to talk about my most treasured feature of Black Ops 6: Zombies mode. I've been an undead lover ever since I picked up the magical stuff in Origins, and I'm so happy that BO6 is bringing more content like this back. While I did like the open-world vibes of Modern Warfare 3: Zombies, playing Black Ops 6 ma??de me realize how much I misse?d Treyarch's take on it.

The classic round-based levels return in BO6, raising the mode's challenge the more you push through. Currently, only two maps are available: Liberty Falls and Terminus. I know there was some hesitation amongst the players with Liberty Falls, mainly due to its previous bright appearance and smaller size. Regardless of this, I found the map to be much more inviting than the massive Terminus. Sometimes, I don't want to overstrain myself, primarily at the beginning of a game, so it was nice to get a feel for it initially. Furthermore, Treyarch darkened the look and feel of Liberty Falls to incorporate Zombies' iconic doom and gloom feel.

Terminus excels in this approach with all the darkness that shrouds this enormous map. Two storylines are also unfolding here, one with a zombie outbreak in Liberty Falls and the other involving a prison escape (zombies are still there, of course) in Terminus. Both maps connect together, centering around the rag-tag team Mackenzie "Mac" Carver, Maya Aguinaldo, Grigori Weaver, Oskar Strauss, Dr. Elizabeth Grey, and Stoney "Raptor One" Maddox. Carver has to be one of my favorite Operators due to his hilarious one-liners. I like anyone who references SpongeBob SquarePants, and that's exactly what he does.

Terminus crew

But what I truly love is the myriad of Easter eggs that can take you on some of the wildest adventures. Even though there are only two maps, there are so many opportunities for you to explore. The Main Quests are one of the most elaborate missions I've encountered. Similar to previous Black Ops' Zombies mode?s, there are not really any instructions for them, letting the CoD community band together to solve them.

A lot of hard work goes into crafting Wonder Weapons, such as the Jet Gun and Beamsmasher, which are essential too??ls for th??e Main Quests. You'll use them to defeat the most formidable creatures out there, and there's nothing more satisfying than the rewards and triumphs you gain afterward.

On top of the main storyline, you can have some fun with the Side Quests. I couldn't believe how many Easter eggs Treyarch's packed in, from zombie disco bowling to a treasure hunt riddled with cursed coins. Its brought out concepts I wo??uld've never imagined in an undead world, but I love being along for the ride.

So, if you've been missing the classic Zombies, Black Ops 6 is where it's at. You'll get lost in all of its Easter Eggs, which will undoubtedly expand with more updates. Multiplayer will continue to grow, too, whether it be with new maps or quality-of-lif?e improvements.

Black Ops 6 proves that the Call of Duty series is here to stay, and hopefully, it'll get even better from here on?? out.

Even though Black Ops 6 just released, the game offers plenty of unique challenges to tackle. So, if you want to know what to expect, here are the available maps and modes in BO6.

All Black Ops 6 modes and playlists

You can look forward to the following modes in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6:

Modes How to Play
Team Deathmatch The crowd-favorite Team Deathmatch is one of the more straightforward challenges, where you must eliminate enemy Operators for more points.
Kill Order Kill Order is a brand-new 6v6 respawn mode introduced in Black Ops 6. Each team includes a High Value Target (HVT), a randomly selected player that must be eliminated for bonus scores. You must also guard your own HVT, as the other side will be gunning for them.
Face Off Similar to Team Deathmatch, but Scorestreaks are disabled. Set in smaller-sized maps.
Domination Capture, hold, and defend objectives to increase your scores.
Hardpoint Capture and hold the Hardpoint zone for as long as possible.
Search and Destroy Detonate or defuse bombs. Teams alternate with the restriction of no respawns.
Control Take turns attacking and defending zones.
Headquarters Capture the Headquarters and defend it. The team that holds the HQ won't be able to respawn.
Kill Confirmed Collect dog tags from downed players to either earn points for your team or deny kills for the enemy.
Free-For-All Battle Royale-like game mode where you must be the top scorer.
Infected Infect enemies or survive through the match to win.
Gunfight Use a pre-determined weapon class to win the rounds. Respawns are disabled.

While most of these modes have already been a part of Call of Duty, you can experience a new challenge with Kill Order. Teamwork makes the dream work here, where you can farm a ton of XP?? with HVT eliminations.

Kill Order also features a Face Off variant, turning off Scorestreaks altogether. This particular variation dives into the fast-paced Strike maps, another new addition of Black Ops 6. The?? 2v2 Gunfight mode should also be arriving sometime soon. This challenge ups the ante through its single-life restriction, making every second count. It's one of th?e more balanced modes, as each Operator spawns in with the same exact loadout.

For even more challenges, check o??ut H?ardcore versions of these modes. Currently, the following games include this feature:

  • HC Team Deathmatch
  • HC Kill Order
  • HC Domination
  • HC Hardpoint
  • HC Search and Destroy
  • HC Kill Confirmed
  • HC Free-For-All
  • Hardcore Face Off Moshpit
  • Hardcore Nuketown 24/7

Changing these modes to Hardcore pla??ces various restrictions on Operators. In particular, the HUD will be limited, and you'll spawn in with low health. Even more so, friendly fire is enabled, so you'll need to be mindful of your tea?mmates.

All Black Ops 6 maps

Black Ops 6's maps are split into Core and Strike categories. Core locations encompass Call of Duty's standardized 6v6 maps, which typically range from small to medium sizes. Strike maps are much more compact, catering to Face Off's 6v6 or 2v2 matches. Plus, there's an additional Training Groun??ds area for those who need to practice.

At the time of writing, these are the available maps in Black Ops 6, with others expected to come i?n future updates.

  • Core Maps:

    • Skyline
    • Rewind
    • Derelict

The ancient city of Babylon arrives in the Black Ops 6 world, featuring climbable columns and various hiding places. It's a relatively small map, perfect for those who enjoy fast-paced rounds. Many players have indicated that Babylon ?could be perceived as the new Shipment map, where you'll need to always be on your toes.

Scud

In the Scud battleground, you'll have various points of interest to use, from the cove??r of the radar dish to the protection of the ??many trenches. A wide variety of weapons can be used here, both close and long-range.

In Derelict, you'll explore a train graveyard in the Appalachian Mountains. Take cover inside the many trains, or get a good vantage poi??nt w??ithin its buildings.

Since Black Ops 6 revolves around the '90s era, you'll get to go back in time when videotape stores were all the rage. Head to the Rewind map to check out a part of Zombies' Liberty Falls location.

The Safehouse in Black Ops 6's Campaign becomes a highly intense battleground in Multiplayer. Enter the main house for?? some close-quarters combat, or walk around the side?? of it for long-range showdowns.

Explore a hanger and bomber team training facility on the small Subsonic map. Take cover in multiple aircraft or large craters to diversify your off??ensive strategies.

Vault

Vault takes you to a desert landscape decorated with monuments and sculptures. Jump down below to find the broken-in vau??lt, or use the diving board to gain some extra flight.

Vorkuta

The afte?rmath of a storm coats snow around the Vorkuta map. ??This once Soviet labor camp has now turned into a mining facility, riddled with many hiding spots.

Nuketown

The beloved Nuketown returns in Black Ops 6, showcasing a modern design for the town's 1950s style. The map is practically identical to the original, instilling some nostalgia for Black Ops fans. Nuketown also?? includes Hardcore and 24/7 modes for those who want to experience all of its wonders.

Stakeout

Stakeout

Stakeout primarily centers around? the inside of a building deep in the Mediterranean region. You won't have many places to hide here, so prepare for a fast-paced battle.

Gala

It's time?? to ?go into the heart of Washington, D.C., with the Gala 6v6 map. Like Stakeout, you won't have many hiding spots, but you can always take cover near the bar and campaign stand.

Pit

While most Black Ops 6 maps generally take place outside, the Pit is one of the few that goes underground. Look out f??or some ladders in this mining tunnel? to get a nice vantage point.

Warhead

The desolated Nuketown neighborhood, Warhead, is one of the smallest maps in Black Ops 6. You'll have? very few places to take cover, resulting in num?erous close-quarters fights.

When you first start out in BO6, you're locked out of many things, from weapons to equipment. However, the real challenge comes with the Prestige rank, which resets your progress back to squa??re one. This means you have to earn a ton of XP all over again?? to unlock items.

To help you ease the grind, here's how to get XP and level up fast in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Fastest ways to level up in BO6

You can use the following techniques to level up fast in Black Ops 6:

  • Use Double XP Tokens
  • Take advantage of Double XP Weekends
  • Use Scorestreaks like Scout Pulse, UAVs, and Counter UAVs
  • Play objective-based modes such as Domination, Hardpoint, and Kill Confirmed
  • Play Zombies mode
  • Complete Daily challenges
  • Equip Perks like Dispatcher and Bankroll

The Double XP Weekends are one of the best times for XP farming. These weekends, which are usually announced by Treyarch, offer double XP rewards for all your in-game actions. Fortunately, Treyarch has already confirmed one event for BO6's post-launch, so keep an eye out for it.

Black Ops 6 Double XP event release date

Play from Nov. 1 to 4 to earn 2XP, 2X Weapon XP, and 2X GobbleGum rewards. It'll make grinding much more accessible, with the possibility of reaching the Prestige rank?? by its end.

During the event, it's recommended that you play objective-based modes, which are known to provide way more XP than the others. Simply hold your ground at your post, and you'll earn XP, even if you'r???e just lying there.

Kill Confirmed is one of my favorite methods to level up fast. Eliminate opponents and pick up as many dog tags as possible, unlocking m??ore Scorestreaks for the round. The mo??re Scorestreaks you use, the more XP you'll gain.

The Scout Pulse is the easiest to trigger, as it only requires 400 points in a single life. The UAV and Counter UAV are also good streaks to hit, providing XP the entire time they're active. Additionally, you can equip the Dispatcher Perk to reduce the score cost for Killstreaks. It's best to pair this? Perk with Bankroll, which starts each l??ife with a +150 score.

For those seeking a challenge??, the Daily Challenges section is your arena. Tasks like getting 15 Headshots and killing five enemies with th?e Scrambler Field Upgrade await. Achieve all three Daily Challenges to earn 5,000 XP for the day.

Besides the Daily Challenges, you can go on an even more formidable journey in Zombies mode. Sure, it'll be difficult to get through, but it's a great way to earn XP in BO6. The Liberty Falls and Terminus Main Quests, in particular, offer 5,000 XP to those who complete them. However, I will say that they are pretty time-consuming due to their challenging series of tasks. You'll still ac??quire more XP with your attempts, earning you points wi?th numerous zombie kills.

The Double XP Tokens are the last method you can use, but there have been few opportunities to acquire them. The primary way to get them is through promotional purchases, Little Caesars, and Monster events. There may be more instances where Treyarch rewards XP Tokens for free. We'll likely see cases like this when Black Ops 6 Season 1 drops, as seasons have ?generally offered free rewards.

What is the best way to level up fast in Black Ops 6?

The Double XP events, objective-based modes, and Zombies are the best places to level up fast in BO6. I've used the Zombies route the most, and it's helped me reach the higher ranks at an instant rate. It's also an easy way to level up a wide variety of weaponry. It's all because of the Pack-a-Punch upgrade, boosting the damage rates of any type of gun. PAP has even given me a better grip on my barely-used weapons, including the sometimes har??d-to-mana??ge Pistols.

But if Zombies isn't your thing, you?? can always use Multiplayer's objective-based modes to farm a ton of XP, especially on special events.
