The Shadowverse series is getting ready to expand with a new game for mobile devices and PC. Cygames announced Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond as a free??-to-play card battler, with a summer 2024 release planned for iOS, Android, and PC.

In the announcement overview, Cygames noted that "international language support" is planned for the new Shadowverse. While the competitive online collectible card game will be free to play, there will naturally be optional in-app purchas??es, so we'll see how that balances out when it launches. 

Check out the first look at the direct sequel to Shadowverse: 

Players will be able to move around the world with custom avatars, interacting and battling with others they run into along the way. According to the footage, you'll also be able to kick a giant soccer ball around, play Mahjong, and fish, among other activities. There are also events and "other content" in the works, with more details to come on everything at a later date. The battles themselves promise fresh f??eatures like super evolution and new amulet abilities. 

Tournaments are already planned for 2024, including the RAGE Shadowverse Pro Tour and both in-store and online tournaments in Japan. For overseas players, there will be the Shadowverse NetEase Championship, Shadowverse Korea Open, Shadowverse Taiwan Open, and Shadowverse Open West/SEAO. There's also a Shadowverse World Championship scheduled for early 2025, with 10 million yen and a special Shadowverse: Evolve card up for grabs. Various slots are available for qualifying through the other tournaments in Jap??an and other r??egions.

Yay or neigh?

Cygames revealed Umamusume Pretty Derby: Nekketsu Hachamecha Dai Kasha-sai as part of Japan’s Nintendo Direct yesterday, but there was little indication of its release plans. The publisher has now confirmed that the game will be coming to North America as Umamusume: Pretty Derby �Party Dash.

The pixel art visuals are cute, but what grabbed my attention is the obvious nods to the Nekketsu/Kunio-Kun series. There are four events in this party Grand Prix: Hurtling Hurdles, Blazing Baskets, Dodgeball Demolition, and Gourmet Gauntlet. Alliterations are fun. Three of those events bear a resemblance to games in the Kunio-Kun series. In particular, the Blazing Baskets game has three nets stacked on top of each other, which was part of Nekketsu Street Basket.

Homage aside, it’s definitely not just a straight copy. There ??are a lot of new thing??s mixed in with these games, like turning someone into a penguin for some reason. Collectibles of some sort are on the playing field. It looks like all events are a free-for-all. There actually isn’t a whole lot to go on in this press release, but I think the trailer speaks for itself.

We’re promised a “star-studded cast of Umamusume to play as.�I don’t know what that means beyond them being horse girls. I’m going to be honest with you, I know nothing about Umamusume. This is actually the first time I’ve heard of it. I do watch anime from time to time, but it’s part of a very sparse likelihood that I’ll watch a TV show at all. T??his trailer doesn’t really get me int?erested in the show, but the game looks fun.

Japanese developer heads westward

CyGames Inc, the Japanese developer behind the Granblue Fantasy and Shadowverse franchises, has announced it is expanding into the west, establishing two new studios in?? Europe and th?e United States.

"Following the worldwide launch of Cygames�strategic card game Shadowverse in June 2016, a Global Business Development team was established alongside branches in Korea? and Taiwan to further promote the company’s titles outside of Japan," said the company in a statement."

"Cygames America and Cygames Europe are the latest additions to Cygames' ongoing push to promote and market their titles in North America and Europe, which together account for roughly ha??lf of the world’s video game marketplace. In keeping with the company’s vision to be the best in entertainment, Cygames strives to continue providing high-quality content for fans all around the globe."

The CyGames America office is located in Los Angeles, where it is overseen by CEO Motohiro Okubo. The European office is situated in London, UK, and is run by Managing D?irector Hiroaki Ochiai. It appears that both studios will focus mostly on marketing, distribution, and the localization of products. Currently, it seems that neither team will feature in-house game development.

The next major release from the studio will be the revamped fighter Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, which is currently in development at Arc System Works with an eye to launch in later in 2023.

Online coding requires a little more tweaking

CyGames has announced that it has had to, unfortunately, postpone its upcoming beta for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising �Originally scheduled for PlayStation platforms in May, the beta will no??w take place at a later??, currently unspecified date.

"The game is currently experiencing stability issues during online play," wr??ote creative director Tetsuya Fukuhara in ?a short statement on Twitter. "While we realize that some bumpiness is to be expected during beta testing, we would still like to put our best foot forward and ensure?? we deliver as enjoyable an experience as possi?ble."

"In order to test our recent implementation of rollback netcode, we will be launching a closed pre-access beta, followed shortl??y by an open ??beta. For those who would like to participate in the pre-access beta, registration will open when we announce the updated schedule. Thank you for your patience."

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, which was first announced during the Granblue Fantasy Fes in January this year, is a fully updated edition of the 2020 anime fighter, produced by veteran studio Arc System Works. The new edition will feature additional characters �including the buxom shepherd Anila �?as well as new mechanics and stages, a story expansion, and a full rebalancing of al?l characters.

While not the most popular fighter on the block, GBF:VS is a great scrapper, and this new edition will help e?xtend ?its lifespan and, hopefully, bring new fans into the fold.

Arc System Works, in association with publisher CyGames, has released the first gameplay trailer for the adorable Anila, the first new character announced for anime scrapper Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising. Anila was first revealed in a teaser last week, but now we ??can finally see the sexy shep?herd in action.

Anila, who is classed as "Queen of the Sheep and ruler of the South-Southwest"?? is an incredibly fun-looking character, who will step forth into battle armed with her trusty polearm and supported by a huge flock of obedient wool-bearers.

Anila herself sports a pair of r??am horns, as well as a thick woolen gown and a luscious lock of blonde hai?r. She's also pretty sleepy, which comes with the territory. I legitimately think that she's one of the most fun designs to grace fighting games in some time. And I'm surprised that it's taken this long for a shepherd gimmick to make its appearance in the typically wacky genre.

As you can see from her trailer, Anila is something of an all-round character, afforded decent ??range thanks to her polearm, (check out that half-screen sweep!), some smothering chains, and even some basic zoning capabilities... thanks to her fuzzy friends. Anila can send out her flock as ground-based projectiles, and even ride them into battle in order to close the distance at great speed. Anila's amusing super sees the opponent stampeded in a f??lurry of wool and hooves. You don't need to count sheep when they'll gladly send you into the land of slumber the hard way.

While Anila's release date has been somewhat confusing, it seems clear that she is destined to make her debut in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, the updated edition of the original 2020 fighter, complete with new modes and mechanics, as well as a fresh rebalance for its attractive and engaging roster. While the details are still strangely sketchy, one would assume that Anila will be available as paid DLC for the vanilla edition of Versus, while Rising will be? mad?e available complete with several additional fighters. CyGames will reveal the next new character at EVO 2023, which is scheduled for August of this year.

Who's a good boy?

If you’ve been holding off on playing Metal Dogs until you can hold it in your hands, the Switch version is coming your way. 24Frame and Cygames will be dropping their dog-powere?d shooter on Nor??th American anglophones on March 8, following its recent release in Europe.

What is Metal Dogs, and what does it have to do with tank-a-licious series, Metal Max? It’s a run-and-gun spin-off featuring the series�best boy, Pochi. Aside from that, not much. While it’s set in the sort of grimmer world of Metal Max Xeno, gameplay is entirely different. You outfit your mutt with canons, sub-weapons, and special equ??ipment, then delve some dungeons with various objectives. There are wanted monsters, but you’re not really hun?ting them as you would in the main series. It’s mostly just callbacks and references, but that’s often what a spin-off is.

Metal Dogs is in Early Access on Steam and has been since 2021. It has already seen release in Japan on PS4 and Switch last April. I’m not sure what’s up with the slow trickle in the English versions, but we’re slowly getting there. Notably, Metal Dogs is being published by Cygames, who picked up the Metal Max franchise from Kadokawa games a few months after the release of the Japanese console versions, ??which may explai??n the delay.

While the PC version clearly states that itâ€?™s still in Early Access, a lot of the major content is already implemented, including the whole main campaign. Further development seems to be on tightening up the current experience and adding more content.

Metal Dogs is a reasonably fun little title, but it’s decidedly lightweight. It has more value for fans of the series than it does for newcomers, but even then, it doesn’t feature most of the gameplay standards that make the Metal Max series so delectable. For the main series, we’ve only received the PS2 title, Metal Saga, and the recent Metal Max Xeno and its re-jigger here in the West. For t??he real meat of the series, you’re going to need to de??lve into fan translations.

Metal Dogs is curr??ently available for PC via Steam Early Access. It’s also on Switch and PS4 for Japan. A localized Switch version is available right now in Europe, and will hit North America on March 8, 2023.

Baaaaaaad to the Bone

Publisher CyGames and developer Arc System Works have released several updates pertaining to Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising, the expanded edition of the studios' gorgeous anime fighter, initially launched on PlayStation and PC back in the winter of 2020.

Perhaps first and foremost, we received a super cute teaser trailer for a brand-new DLC character, Anila. The... erm... "buxom" lass is an all-round fighter, who will combine rushdown and zoning-based fighting methods �afforded vast reach thanks to her trusty pol??earm while being aided and abetted by her flock of Divine Sheep. Quite honestly, I th??ink this a wonderful idea for a fighting game character. You think you've seen everything, and then ArcSys is just like "I dunno... Magic Sexy Shepherd?"

Say hi to Anila in the teaser trailer below. She is expected to join the vanilla GBFV roster in March.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising will feature a slew of new mechanics in order to refresh the cult fighter's gameplay. While the core gameplay will remain the same, two all-new mechanics are hoping to bring new dynamism and excitement to the fa??ntasy fights. New "Dash Attacks" will allow players to close the gap with a quick poke, a sneaky low strike, or a combo-starting heavy, allowing for opponent openings in the blink of an eye.

The second mechanic, "Triple Attack", is essentially an auto-combo that can transition to a low or an overhead mixup on the third hit. The opponent will be required to recognize the animation, or simply p?redict correctly, in order to defend against the fast combo. If they react co?rrectly, however, there is a reversal opportunity, so be sure not to become too readable.

Finally, CyGames announced that it will hold a special open beta tournament over the course of EVO 2023, giving the public the opportunity to check out Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising ahead of its launch, complete with the new mechanics and balance changes. More details will be announced closer to the beta's launch, but we can assume that it will?? take place in early August, alongside EVO 2023 itself.

This weekend is the annual Granblue Fantasy Fes event in Japan, and as usual, we’re getting some big announcements from the world of Granblue. Specifically, Granblue Fantasy: Versus is getting an expansion that’s launching worldwide this year. Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising will feature new stages, new characters, and a new story for players to experience. As you can see in the Versus Rising trailer below, it’s confirmed?? the game will have rollback net code and crossplay between PS4/PS5 and PC via Steam.

Skimming through the game's website, it's confirmed that all 24 characters from the original game will return for this semi-sequel. Additionally, anybody who missed out on Versus will be able to experience an abridged version of that game's celebrated story mode. If you play a lot of Versus online, know that the online lobby will be completely revamped for Versus Rising and will inc??lude the all-new "Grand Bruise Legends" mini-game mode.

I guess calling it "Granblue Fall Guys" would have been a little too on the nose. Either way, all of that looks great, and it's nice to know that Street Fighter 6 will have some competition this year. Expect Cygames and Arc System Works to reveal more details and new features as we get closer to its launch date. Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising will release worldwide this year for PS4, PS5, and PC via Steam. And if you're still playing the original Versus, know that the final update for that game will release on January 24.

Lost in Time

Nintendo has officially announced a shutdown date for its mobile RPG Dragalia Lost �the fantasy adventure will end service on iOS and Andr??oid platforms on November 29, 2022.

As reported back in spring of this year, the decision was made to shut down the CyGames-produced title earlier this year, which will see Dragalia Lost close its servers after four years of relatively successful engagement. The narrative campaign came to a close back in July, with players encouraged to use these remaining months to wind up their adventures, max ou??t characters, and spend any remaining "Diamantium," the title's in-game currency. No further Diamantium can be purchased as of today.

Launching in the fall of 2018, Dragalia Lost was a very popular title, raking in over $120 million USD within its first 15 months of ope??ration. Over the course of 2021 and 2022, the earnings figures have dipped, though the game still remains somewhat ?popular among its hardened community. As we have quickly come to understand, however, if you are not making All The Money, you might as well be making No Money, and thus Nintendo and CyGames have decided to pull down the blinds.

Rush, Rush, Shift into Overdrive

CyGames has released its previously teased major update for attractive fighter Granblue Fantasy: Versus. Now available on both PlayStation and PC platforms, Update 2.80 adds three major new mechanics to the super-stylis??h and surprisingly sexy anime ring rocker.

The first new mechanic, "Rush", is a quick forward dash that can be activated at the cost of half of your SBA meter. The dash is strike-invincible just after startup, but can still be shut down by projectiles. The purpose of dash is to perfect the timing of the player's advance in order to gain ground in the face of a heavy assault from the opponent. Think of it ala tactical rolls in The King of Fighters, excep?t lacking projectile invincibility. Rush can also be linked with certain attacks in order to extend combos.

The second mechanic, "Backshift", is similar to Rush except used as a retreat rather than an advance. A backshifting player loses half of their SBA meter in order to put some distance between themselves and their opponent. Backshift can also be performed out of knockdown in order to avoid highly offensive players from maintaining their momentum as you return to your retu??rn. As such, it is a handy tool for avoid meaties and some 50/50 guessing games.

The final new mechanic, Overdrive, is an all-in-one buff that can be activated once-per-round. Costing 100% of a filled SBA meter, Overdriv??e applies several upgrades to your character, including increased damage, increased chip damage, nullified incoming chip damage, faster overhead attacks, and "enhanced simple commands". Overdrive lasts as long as your ??meter drains, and taking hits will speed up its reduction rate.

These three new additions definitely throw a cat among the pigeons that are the Granblue Fantasy: Versus' dedicated community. It has to be noted that the players were hoping for rollback netcode? implementation, which clearly was not on the cards. Here's hoping that update helps make the flow of the fight better than it has ever been.

Maid in Japan

It appears that the fanservice fanatics over at CyGames are getting set to launch a brand new franchise, following on from its application for "Akiba? Maid War" with The Japan ?Trademark Association.

Cygames, renown for cutesy cult franchises such as Granblue Fantasy, The Idolmaster, and Dragalia Lost, was granted the trademark on May 10, picking up the domain name for the property soon after. No details were revealed as to the context of Akiba Maid War, with only a simple logo released so far. As noted by Gematsu, the Japanese text "Akiba Meido ??Sensou" is a fun pun, as "Meido" is phonetically pronounced "Maid" but as written is the word for "Underworld."

That's all well and good, CyGames, but frankly, I just want my tea and biscuits. Failing that, I just want to dress up as a maid. No doubt we will hear more about Akiba Maid War as the year progresses, as it's getting to be about that time. Maybe it'll be a great third-person console adventure, maybe it will be a garbage gacha mobile game. Until Cygames is ready to spill the tea, it could go e??ither way. Schrodinger's Maid, if you will. (You won't.)

Another mobile RPG bites the dust

Nintendo has announced that this summer will bring about the end of mobile RPG Dragalia Lost. In a statement posted to its official website, the publisher announced that the title will conclude its story campaign over the ??coming months before terminating service sometime after it reaches a narrative climax in July 2022.

"The Dragalia Lost main campaign is scheduled to reach its conclusion in July of 2022 with part two of chapter 26, the final and climactic additi??on to its long-running story," explained Nintendo. "After the main campaign has concluded, service for the game itself will come to a close at a later date. Further details on the end-of-service schedule will be provided in a future notification."

Originally released in the fall of 2018, Cygames' epic fantasy adventure has been very successful for Nintendo, raking in over $120 million USD during its first 15 months of operation. While the mobile title is still pulling in good money, it is apparently not pulling in all the money.

Stylish fighter celebrates 500,000 sales

It might not be the biggest brawler on the block, but CyGames attractive fighter Granblue Fighter: Versus continues to entertain its audience, now deep into its second season. Having hit an impressive milestone of 500,000 units, publisher Arc System Works has dropped a trailer for the ne??xt DLC ?character, Seox, who will join the roster next month.

Seox, (or "Six"), ain't nothing to fuck with. As one of the celestial beings known as "The Eternals," Seox is carrying power as unbridled as his unstable emotional status. Already one of the world's most powerful be?ings, Seox desires to be more powerful still, clawing for supremacy and reaching for an astral plane far above his already lofty status.

As you can see from the above video, Seox is all about the rushdown. The Eternal uses aerial strikes and dash tactics to close the gap on his prey, before laying in with? extended combos and mixups, utilizing his vicious claws to slice 'n' dice his opponent before they even know what is happening to them. A frightening foe who can end the round in a flash.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus will add Seox as paid DLC on July 13, accompanied by the obligatory Lobby Avatar, Character Icon,?? and custom story mo??de. On that same day, All players will receive two new stages free of charge: "Celestial View" and "Abyss."

GF:V has battled against rough netcode and stiff competition in a particularly crowded market, so kudos to CyGames for hitting the half-million milestone. But I hope that the developer will choose to focus on GF:V's stability very soon. The roster has more than enough sexy char?acters, now it's time to focus on some sexy tech.

'The most Beautiful Battle in the World'

Japanese developer Cygames has announced that it is hard at work on a brand new mystery title codenamed "Project GAMM." The new game is described as a fantasy adventure and will be produced and directed by Kenichiro Takaki, creator of the Senran Kagura franchise.

In a short teaser in Weekly Famitsu, Project GAMM is described as being a multiplayer-focused title set in a steampunky world of magic and machines. Lavish illustrations from veteran industry artist Mogmo spotlight a variety of sullen characters, such as a magical maid. Early screenshots appear to depict Dynasty Warriors-style mass battles, despite Project GAMM's heavy PvP slant. No release dat?e or platforms were confirmed.

Since Kenichiro Takaki moved on from Marvelous — following his frustrations with Sony's censorship of the Senran Kagura series — the producer has been looking for a title to sink his time and talents into. While I'm in no doubt whatsoever that Project GAMM may also prove to be very fanservice heavy, Mogmo's gorgeou?s early artwork is pretty darn classy. The new title, whatever form it takes, could see Takaki step up a rung on the director's ladder in the eyes of t??he industry — something of a diversion from the cheesecake titles that are synonymous with his brand.

Cygames, in association with developer Arc System Works, has announced that Anre, the next DLC character headed to Granblue Fantasy: Versus, will be joini?ng the roster o??f the gorgeous fighting title next week - January 26 to be exact.

An introspective and impossibly wise being, Anre (or "Uno") actually dislikes war, combat and the unhappiness and?? pain that it brings. To this end, Anre has entered the fray in the hopes of attaining such power that he will become a deterrent to those who wish harm on mankind. In battle Anre retains his stoic and peaceful demeanor, while fending off assault with expert use of his "Spear of the Eternals", a legendary artifact of devastating faculty.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus receives a brand new character today, one who seems sure to be popular with rushdown fans and DeviantArt supporters everywhere. Foxy franchise fan-favorite Yuel is now ready to join the battle, arriving as part of the go?rgeous fighter's second season pass.

In Granblue Fantasy lore, Yuel is a daring adventurer, who is constantly distracted from her life quest to discover a thousand-years-old treasure by the people and places that she encounters on her journeys. A very popular character in the Granblue Fantasy universe, no doubt thanks to her teasing, femme-fatale nature, lavish design, and playful attitude, Yuel joins the GF:V roster as a speedy rushdown?? character, tackling her opponents on ground and in the air with her trademark "Foxfire" swords. Yuel is also equipped with her "Third Dance", a stance that slows mobility but allows f??or slick counterattacks.

In addition to Yuel's arrival, the trailer above offers the first look at the next DLC character in line for Granblue Fantasy: Versus. Anre may seem relatively short in stature but, as on??e of the masterful deities known as "The Eternals" is actually a being of incredible knowledg?e and power, tasked with providing balance to the world's emotions, and ridding civilization of sadness. Damn, hope he succeeds in that task real soon. Anre will be made available in-game in early 2021.

Finally, Granblue Fantasy: Versus will be receiving a "Battle Pass" of sorts as part of its Version 2.22 update later this month. The pass will challenge players to complete?? time-limited challenges in order to unlock skins, colors, RPG Mode bonuses, in-game currency,? and more.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus has been updated to Version 2.11, bringing a selection of bug fixes and mode tweaks to CyGames' attractive fighter, along wit??h all-new DLC character Cagliostro.

Known as "The Prettiest Alchemist," C?agliostro is a young mistress of the arcane arts, arts that she utilizes in the pursuit of a state of absolute cuteness. Des??pite her adorable demeanor, Cagliostro has quite a temper bubbling under her kawaii surface and is a force to be reckoned with in the thick of the fight.

Not only is Cagliostro capable of producing huge swords and spears from the environment with ease, but her tri??cky teleportation skills also keep her well out of harm's way. Sneaky gal. Cagliostro is available to purchase for around $7, which includes the requisite lobby avatar and a new RPG Mode chapter.

Cagliostro demonstrates her magical might

Publisher Arc System Works, in conjunction with developer CyGames, has revealed the third character headed to Granblue Fantasy: Versus as part of the gorgeous fighter's second character pass. And this time arou???nd its none of than the daring adventurer, Yuel.

Yuel was announced in a brief teaser at the end of a new gameplay trailer, which gave us our first look at cheerful mage Cagliostro in action. Yuel is an extremely popular character among the Granblue Fantasy community, undoubtedly thanks to her teasing, femme-fatale nature. A brave and steadfast warrior on an epic journey to find a thousand-year-old treasure, Yuel is very ea??sily distracted by the worlds, characters, and events sh?e experiences while en route to her goal. She also throws up a pretty mean nWo Wolfpac signal.

As for Cagliostro, the young alchemist will launch in Granblue Fantasy: Versus tomor??row, October 20, bringing her ancient arcane powers to the fight. A "mistress of blades," as it were, Cagliostro uses her magic skills t??o conjure up razor-sharp swords, spears, and whirring buzz saws on the battlefield, while staying out of her foe's grasp with her frustrating teleport abilities. Don't let her cute, wholesome demeanor fool you, this angry gal will cut you down in seconds flat.

RPG mode getting new chapters as well

It was a bit odd last December when Arc System Works and Cygames pulled back the curtain on the second season of DLC characters for Granblue Fantasy: Versus before the first season had even been revealed. But with such a large Granblue cast to choose from, it was pretty predictable the DLC train would keep rolling full-steam ahead. After wrapping up its first season with the addition of Zooey, Versus is ?ready to start its sophomore year with the previously revealed Belial?? and cute-as-a-button Cagliostro.

Belial will be available for download on September 23 with Cagliostro follow??ing in late October. It should be noted due to COVID-19, neither character will launch ??with their English language voice overs. Twenty-twenty will see one more character added to the season pass with three more to follow in 2021.

Additionally, on August 9 -- or late night on August 8 depending on your timezone -- Granblue Fantasy: Versus will update to version 1.40?. This update ??will add Boss Battle Time Attack and Blitz modes, as well as new chapters to the RPG mode.

CyGames has released the newest update for its artistic fighting title Granblue Fantasy: Versus. Version 1.31, which is live now on both PC and PS4 platforms, brings the last of the game's initial batch of DLC characters, along with a laundry list o??f in-game tweaks.

Zooey, accompanied by her serpentine pals Dyrn and Lyrn, has graced the GF:V universe with her presence in order to prevent the bringing of chaos through The Singularities - namely Djeeta, Gran, and Beelzebub. A master of sw??or?dsmanship, with her attacks boosted by her command of lightning, Zooey's shit-list is a pretty bleak place to be. There's a storm coming...

Zooey comes loaded with a selection of new missions, combo trials, in-game avatars, and other lobby goodies. Also available right now is a glossy new stage: The Jewel Resort. Both Zooey and The Jewel Resort are available as part of the GF:V season pass, or can be purch??ased separately. Further characters are expected to launch this fall.

In addition to the arrival of Zooey, Version 1.31 brings about Granblue Fantasy: Versus' largest balance update since release. The patch contains some tweaks to GF:V's control system, shifting directional priority and move buffer mechanics, along with various balance changes to the fighter's roster. Publisher CyGames has proudly announced that its delightful-looking fighting title Granblue Fantasy: Versus has passed 350,000 shipments and di??gital sales worldwide, getting the anime battler off to a comfortable start during its staggered release period.

CyGames made the announcement on Twitter with a short message thanking the fans, accompanied by some cute artwork of Granblue Fantasy stars Djeeta and Lyria. Granblue Fantasy: Versus first launched on PS4 in Japan, before arriving in North America and Europe in March. A PC port was also released at?? this time.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus will release the last of its initial DLC characters, Zooey, on April 28. Zooey will be followed by a free story expansion this summer, before the fighter launches its second season pass o??f characters sometime this fall. The first new arriv?al from this second run is expected to be fallen angel Belial.

CyGames and Arc System Works have announced that fifth DLC character Zooey will be made available for purchase in Granblue Fantasy: Versus on April 28. The ethereal dragon mom joins previous roster additions Narmaya, Beelzebub, Soriz, and Djeeta.

Accompanied by her dragon deities, Dyrn and Lyrn, Zooey arrives in the GF: V universe with plans to bring order to the chaos caused by The Singularites - namely Gran, Djeeta, and Beelzebub. With her dragon pals, lightning magic abilities, and expert swordplay, this petite but overwhelmingly po??werful fighter should not be taken lightly by anybody.

Zooey will be made available to purchase on April 7. In keeping with all GF:V DLC fighters, Zooey arrives as part? of the game's Character Pass, or can be pi??cked up as a stand-alone purchase.

It raises eyebrows to see Granblue Fantasy: Versus drop four paid DLC characters within its first month of release, but it seems that ArcSys is not done yet, as the above trailer's climax revea??ls a second character pass, which will add Belial and five further characters this fall.

On the free side of affairs, more chapters are being added gratis to the GF:V RPG mode, with Episodes 41-45 scheduled to release this summer, and Episodes 46-50 landing in early 2021. Finally, the Granblue Fantasy: Versus soundtrack will be made available to purchase Jun??e 17.

The latest update is now live for the PS4 edition of lovely looking fighter Granblue Fantasy: Versus. Version 1.21 brings a new run of balance tweaks and bug fixes, and also adds new DLC character??s to the store. The Version 1.21 update will go live on PC April 13.

The official patch notes (as translated by EventHubs) only feature a small and immediately problematic series of changes, as Version 1.21 is merely a prelude to a more substantial patch expected later this month, which is expected to tweak GF:V on a more fundamen??tal level, improving projectile hitboxes, and plus-frames on close normals across the cast. For now, however, tweaks have been made to Charlotta, Zeta, and Vaseraga, among others.

Old boy martial arts master Soriz and Granblue Fantasy protagonist Djeeta are the latest DLC characters to join the roster, following Beelzebub and Narmaya. Both characters are now available to purchase individually, or arrive as part of the Granblue Fantasy: Versus character pass. They will be followed by dragon master Zooey at a later date.

Another seven days in the dojo

Tomorrow sees the scheduled release of two new roster additions for gorgeous-looking fighter Granblue Fantasy: Versus, but it appears PC players will have to wait a little longer to get their mitts on the divine Djeeta and martial arts master, Soriz.

Publisher XSEED has announced at the final hour that both characters will be delayed until April 13 on the PC platform, with GF:V director Tetsuya Fukuhara citing development issues as the cause for the postponement. Both Djeeta and Soriz are still expected to launch on PS4 tomorrow, April 7, where they can be purchased individually or will arrive as part of the GF:V character pass.

I need a hero

It appears that Granblue Fantasy: Versus DLC character Djeeta will be making her way to the roster very soon, according to a recently leaked trailer from Arc System Works, which you can check out right here.

Djeeta is essentially the female player avatar in the original Granblue Fantasy title - her male counterpart being Gran, who is already on the roster. Although they are essentially character swaps in their origin games, Granblue Fantasy: Versus will see Djeeta have an entirely different moveset to Gran, making her "a?? capable captain in her own right."

Djeeta will be made available to purchase on April 7, alongside martial arts expert Soriz. This pairing will be followed by dragon gal Zooey at a later date. As with all GF:V DLC characters, Djeeta can be purchased separately or arrives as part of the game's Character Pass. There has been concern from some players at the notion of at least four paid DLC characters within a mere month of GF:V's relea?se, (two on launch day, in fact). Regardless, I wouldn't be surprised if w??e see even more announced in future.

Arc System Works and CyGames have revealed the launch date for Soriz, the next DLC fighter headed to the attractive Granblue Fantasy: Versus. The expert martial artist will be ready to step into the ring? on April 7.

A mature gentleman who once ran a successful weapon store, Soriz soon realised that with discipline and training he could hone his own body into becoming the ultimate weapon. With that mantra in mind, Soriz set about tuning his body to perfection and making his hand-to-hand abilities second-to-none. While that all sounds very noble, the official blurb does also state that he is capable of being "a mere dirty ol??d man."? Okay...

Soriz launches on April 7 worldwide, and can be purchased individually or as part of the Granblue Fantasy: Versus Character Pass Set, which also includes Beelzebub, Narmaya, Zooey, and Djeeta, the latte?r two of whom will ??arrive at a later date.

Quit dragon it out

CyGames and Arc System Works have officially revealed the fifth DLC character headed to lush fighting game Granblue Fantasy: Versus, and of no surprise to anybody it is indeed the guardian of the skies, Zooey, as inadvertently revealed late last week.

As you can see in the hard-rockin' video below, Zooey certainly seems to be momentarily casting aside her kind and sympathetic nature, proudly stepping into battle armed with a resplendent sword and shield combo, whilst accompanied by some spirited wyvern pals. In fact, it was noted by Gematsu? that Zooey will have an exclusive "Wyvern Gauge", so no doubt her winged friends will serve her well in combat.

As demonstrated by the new trailer, Zooey is the final character in the GF:V character pass and is expected to arrive late April. Zooey will follow on from Beelzebub and Narmaya - both available in game right now - and Soriz and Djeeta, who are coming at a later date. The next trailer will drop on March 24, though I expect Zooey will have? to take a backseat while the spotlight shines on other approaching DLC characters.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus is available now on PS4 in Japan and North Ame?rica. It will also launch ??on PC March 13 and on PS4 in Europe March 27.

Publisher Cygames has prematurely leaked the identity of the fifth DLC character headed to its delightful 2D fighter Granblue Fantasy: Versus. Joining the previously revealed qu?artet of Beelzebub, Narmaya, Soriz and Djeeta is The?? Arbiter of the Skies, Zooey.

In the Granblue Fantasy series, Zooey is depicted as a kind-hearted, overly-empathetic girl, charged with keeping balance in the skies of the universe. Despite her diminutive stature and gentle nature, Zooey is more than adept in battle with her sword and shield. Zooey's inclusion was leaked via the Asian PlayStation Store, which included the gal's name as part of a Color Pack purchase featuring only the Granblue Fantasy: Versus DLC characters. Zooey has since been?? removed from the page.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus launches in North America today, bringing with it the first two DLC characters, Beelzebub and Narmaya (though the former can be unlocked for free by completing the game's Story Mode). You can check out Chris Carter's review right here.

Arc System Works' stunning fighter Granblue Fantasy: Versus has announced the coming of its second DLC character, the friendly-but-fearsome swordswoman Narmaya, who will be made available to purchase worldwide on March 3 - incidentally launch?? day for the game's North American release.

Narmaya's charming presence and diminutive stature belie her incredible skills in battle. As part of a family whose goal is the mastery of every fighting style known to man or woman, Narmaya's sword technique is above reproach, allowing her to deal huge damage at close range, or fend off her assailants with stylish ranged jabs. Despite her frighteningly effective abilities, Narmaya is a delight to know, with a perso?nality bursting with warmth and friendliness - almost to a fault.

Narmaya will be made available to purchase on March 3, alongside the devilish Chaos Bringer, Beelzebub. Both characters can be purchased separately or are included as part of the Granblue Fantasy: Versus Character Pa??ss. As a reminder, Beelzebub can also be unlocked in game for free by completing the Sto??ry Mode.
