Last October, the original Red Dead Redemption was ported to the PS5. Other than offering the ability to enable 60fps, it wasn't really much to write home about. What fans actually want is for Rockstar to release the 14-year-old game onto PC. So far nothing, but it could be happenin??g soon.

That's according to Tez2, a user who, by their own definition, monitors the gaming world, "mostly regarding Rockstar Games titles." Their latest datamine strongly suggests that Red Dead Redemption could finally be coming to the PC.

//twitter.com/TezFunz2/status/1790031522315026508

The image uploaded with the Twitter/X post shows some text that simply reads: "Journey across the sprawling expanses of the American West and Mexico in Red Dead Redemption, and its zombie-horror companion, Undead Nightmare, now playable on PC."

Do we need any more hints?

Suffice it to say, what Tez2 has unearthed, which they say was lifted from the Rockstar launcher, pretty much spells it out in black-and-white. Or orange, in this case. If what we see is based on truth, then RDR might actually make it to PC at some point.

To ensure I tick the "journalistic due diligence" box (for such a thing exists...I imagine), it needs to be said that? this is only speculatio??n at this stage. However convincing the leak is, we can't make any concrete claims about a PC port until Rockstar or any other official representative of the game can confirm or deny this information.

Even if it does happen, it's unclear whether it'll even be a remaster of the 2010 release. There have been upscaled versions of RDR for console in the past, but as the PS5 an??d Switch releases have shown, chances are it could just be a straight port. We'll have to wait and see what Rockstar has in store.

Stand on top The Lands Between

Sneaky-deeky dataminers have uncovered further evidence that brand new PvP multiplayer content could be headed to Bandai Namco's stellar adventure, Elden Ring.

As reported by Eurogamer, Code hunter "Sekiro Dubi" took a deep dive into the Gothic RPG's October update and found references to various unused in-game banners, emblazoned with messages such as "Begin Match", "You Win", "You Lose", and "Draw Game", all of which, obviously, would per??tain to some form of refere??ed sporting conflict.

//twitter.com/sekirodubi/s??tatus/1581410861645590528?s=20&t=EGJCPnbZ2stkMATaDExPuA

Sekiro Dub opines that these messages might eventually be used in conjunction with the currently empty colosseums that can be found dotted around The Lands Between, providing an enclosed t?hrowdown ground for what could be one-on-one, team-based, or gauntlet-based battles. Of course, this currently remains speculation on all of our parts.

More recently, Sekiro Dub found placeholder slots for up to 30 brand new boss characters (That's "slots for a potential 30 bosses", not "30 bosses are definitely incoming"). Given the incredible success of Elden Ring and its mighty player base, it would h?ardly be surprising to see Bandai Namco offer up a battleground for some of the title's finest digital warriors and warlords to square off in some form of sporting, league-based, competitive combat.

Elden Ring is available now on Pla?yStation, PC, and Xbox platforms.

Smile.

Yesterday saw Player First Games' brawler MultiVersus receive a brand new update, bringing with it bug fixes, balance changes, the arrival of new fighter Rick Sanchez and, of course, a fresh new batch of character rumors, brought ab??out by those crafty, crafty PC dataminers.

Much like with the previous update, tinkerers have been playing around with the source code of Version 1.03 of MultiVersus and have found secrets buried within. These secrets come in the form of a new "Announcers Pack," that contains narration recorded by DC Comics' Clown Prince of Crime himself, Joker. This would, obviously, suggest that Gotham City's deadliest is getting set to join the MV roster somewhere? down the line This is an inevitabi?lity that will surely come as no surprise to anybody.

You can check out the unearthed dialogue in the tweet below, posted online by @LaisulMV.

//twitter.com/LaisulMV/s??tatus/1574811514489405440?s=20&t=ZGFG1IqOumrxd_N_YojfQA

While this is unconfirmed at this time, the dialogue appears to have been recorded by Mark Hamill, who famously played Joker in the award-winning Batman: The Animated Series, and is considered one of the very best portrayals of the psychopathic criminal in the canon. Splashing out on authentic voices and top-tier characters is partly responsible for MultiVersus success, giving the platform fighter a distinction above some of the other Smash Bros. clones on the market.

Previously, dataminers had uncovered voice lines for two more unannounced stars, The Wizard of OZ's Wicked Witch of the West, and The Ghost with The Most: Beetlejuice. ??To date, neither of these roster additions have been referenced in any official capacity?, so these characters may be waiting in the wings for further seasons. At least sweetie-pie Harley will finally be getting a measure of revenge on ol' Mr. J.

MultiVersus is currently in free-to-play open beta on PlayStation, PC, and Xb??ox p??latforms.

Fans are filling in the blanks to figure out which N64 and Sega Genesis games are most likely coming to the Expansion Pack library

Folks are digging into Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack's newly-added Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis libraries, literally data-miners are turning up some notable stuff. One find, by MondoMega, suggests that the service will eventually include "at least 3?8" N64 games, and "at least" 52 Sega Ge??nesis games, with the door still open for Game Boy.

Based on an "initial" datamine of IDs that's been cross-referenced with what we already know about the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pac??k's retro game roster, MondoMega believes that Nintendo is prepared to roll out "at least 38 N64 titles," as well as "at least"?? 52 Sega Genesis / Mega Drive games, for Expansion Pack subscribers.

//twitter.com/Mondo_M?ega/status/1452?838160660983812?s=20

That's... more than I was expecting? Honestly, at this point, I don't know what I was expecting from Nintend??o. The company has ?such wildcard energy lately.

Worth reiterating: a handful of upcoming N64 games are already confirmed by Nintendo. We don't know when they'll be added, but Majora’s Mask, Mario Golf, Pokemon Snap, F-Zero X, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Paper Mario, and Banjo-Kazooie are locked in.

It bears repeating that ?nothing is for certain when it comes to Nintendo's re?tro game selections in the subscription-based Nintendo Switch era, to say nothing of wonky release schedules but this datamine is a fascinating ballpark for Switch players to contemplate.

While this seems like a great way to set ourselves up for disappointment (again!), some fans have begun filling in the blanks with their best alphabetical guesses. At the bare minimum, repeats from the Wii U Virtual Console days, like Mario Party 2 and Donkey Kong 64, would be nice. I dare not get my hopes up for Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2. (Or should I?!)

What about those Game Boy and Game Boy Color rumors for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack? Well, according to MondoMega's findings, there's room for "additional NSO ??platforms beyond [N64 and Sega Genesis]." The labeling for the IDs suggests as much. "N64 is 3, [M?ega Drive] is 5; SNES was 2, you can figure out what that means."

Sega Genesis games playable with Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack

While the odds are definitely stacked against the $50-per-year Expansion Pack tier from a pricing and less-than-ideal emulation perspective (here's a recap via ResetEra), I feel like plenty of folks are going to show up for the first year and then quietly, if not silently, enjoy the convenience of revisiting some of these N64 and Sega Genesis games. What does year two of this thing look like, though? That's going to be an even tougher sell.

Also, the fact that you can only go all?-in on a 12-month Expansion Pack upgrade, rather than try it out with a cheaper one- or three-month increment like the base Nintendo Switch Online service, is pretty prickly. I know why?? Nintendo did it this way, but still.

So far, I've only ducked my head in to take a cursory glance at the launch lineup with games like Ocarina of Time, Star Fox 64, Mario Tennis, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Streets of Rage 2. I haven't touched the online multiplayer features yet, and I'm just using a Switch Pro Controller for the time being since those N64 controllers are tricky to pin down.

General thoughts? This emulation for N64 games, in particular, isn't as consistently good as it could and really should be, but it hasn't actively bothered me yet I mainly want the ability to rebind the controls on a game-by-game basis. That would go a long way, as those pesky yellow C Buttons have led to strange compromises, and I'd prefer to adjust the A and B buttons, too. Hopefully the Controller Pak issues are also resolved soon.

It feels like the dust is very much still settling, so take everything including the datamined game lists and ensuing speculation with a chunky grain of s?alt.
