To fight against the threat of the demons, many members of the Demon Slayer Corps make use of Breathing Styles, which allows the?m to summon inhuman strength by pairing the right breathing patterns with immaculate swordsmanship.

But which among the styles featured in the series can be considered the strongest? Here are all the Breathing Styles in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, ranked.

  • As you can expect, this piece will feature heavy spoilers for the events only showcased in the Demon Slayer manga. so prepare your Nichirin Sword and read at your own risk.

14. Insect Breathing

Shinobu Kocho.
Image via Ufotable

An adjacent form of Flower Breathing created by the Insect Hashira, Shinobu Kocho to make up for her weak constitution and inability to decapitate demons, Insect Breathing is a style that specializes in performing fast and precise reaper-like tr?usts with the intent of applying lethal effects through Wisteria poisoning. True to that, and although lethal against most, the style lacks the punch many of the others have, as sunlight and decapitations are still the only way to truly end the life of high-end demons.

13. Sound Breathing

Tengei Uzui performing his Sound Breathing.
Image via Ufotable

Created by the Sound Hashira Tengei Uzui, Sound Breathing is an offense-oriented style that revolves around his superhuman ability to identify sounds, and it's focused on performing a series of sequential and fast slashes while dual-wielding inter-connected Nichirin Swords. To add an ex??tra kick to his forms, Uzui pairs many of them with gunpowder to generate massive explosions while making use of other ninja arts to shift the battle in his favor. Unfortunately, we cannot rank this breathing higher as only three of its forms were showcased during the entirety of the manga.

12. Flower Breathing

Kanao Tsuyuri.
Image via Ufotable

Used by the former Flower Hashira Kanae Kocho, as well as by Kanao Tsuyuri, Flower Breathing is a style that specializes in fast and well-placed curved stashes that mimic the way petals flow and bloom. Its biggest differential, however, lies in its final form's (Equinoctial Vermilion Eye) ability to massively boost its user's perception. That translates into a boost in kinetic vision, which allows them to momentarily perceive the world ??????????????????????????as if in slow motion while posing a severe burden to one's eyes.

11. Beast Breathing

Inosuke Hashibira performing his Beast Breathing.
Image via Ufotable

Developed by Inosuke Hashibira during his life in the mountains, the Beast Breathing style is, much like its creator, as straightforward as it gets and relies on the use of two Nishin Swords as well as on one's physical attributes to rush in while cutting everything on their path. As a self-taught style, many of its? forms (or fangs) make use of Inosuke's ability to dislocate his joints at will, as well as his unique perception.

11. Love Breathing

Mitsuri Kanroji performing one of her Love Breathing techniques.
Image via Ufotable

A branch of Flame Breathing created and perfected by the Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji, Love Breathing is a style that focuses on the performance of whip-like slashes with preferably an altered Nishin Blade. A style only viable for Mitsuri, given her unique muscle density, Love Breathing is one of the most oppressive in our lis??t, as it allows its user to slash opponents at blinding speeds a??nd overwhelm even the highest-ranked demons.

9. Serpent Breathing

Obanai Iguro.

Used and seemingly developed by the Serpent Hashira Obanai Iguro, Serpent Breathing is a style that specializes in extremely precise and unpredictable single-motion attacks only achievable by curving one's sword in a snake-like manner. It is unknown if it is possible to perform its forms with a standard Nishin Sword. Even if no more than five of its forms were shown during the series, the style seems to be one of the most ba??lanced in the series and allowed Iguro to hold his own and aid Tanjiro during most of their struggle.

8. Mist Breathing

Muichiro Tokito performing one of his Mist Breathing techniques.
Image via Ufotable

Used by Muichiro Tokito, who might be by al??l accounts the most talented member of the corps since Yoriich??i Tsugikuni, Mist Breathing is a style that specializes in pairing unpredictable movements with fast and sequential attacks to disorient targets.

Nothing showcases that better than its seventh dorm, Obscuring Clouds. Developed by Muichiro, the technique sees him slow his movements only to suddenly accelerate without n??otice. If attacked during it, that drastic change will cause enemies to feel like they are enveloped in and trying to ?strike a wave of mist.

7. Flame Breathing

Kyojuro Rengoku, as shown in Demon Slayer.
Image via Ufotable

Used by Kyojuro Rengoku and all of the Flame Hashira that came before him, Flame Breathing specializes in the performance of kendo-like heavy strikes capable of decapitating targets in one fell swoop??. But don't let that fool you, as even if shown not to be a great fit against enemies like Akaza, the style packs enough punch to turn most demons into cinders. Together with Wind, Flame is also one of the Breathing Techniques with the highest numb??er of known forms, only falling behind Sun, Water, Moon, and Beast.

6. Thunder Breathing

Zenitsu Agatsuma.
Image via Ufotable

Thunder Breathing is a quick-draw style that focuses, above all else, on the performance of unreachable fast strikes through its first form, Thunderclap and Flash. The style, however, gains new life when used by Zenitsu Agatsuma, as his Sixfold, Eightfold, and Godspeed variations allow him to perform consecutive Thunderclap and Flash slashes and bring down multiple enemies before they even realize they have been cut. Zenitsu also developed ?the style's seventh form, Flaming Thunder God, which can be seen as a hypercharged version of the above.

5. Wind Breathing

Sanemi Shinazugawa.
Image via Ufotable

A maverick style that can be seen as the antithesis of the grounded approach of the water-breathing ?style, Wind Breathing focuses mainly on the performance of acrobatic high-s??peed slashes that emulate the shape of whirlwinds.

Used and mastered by Sanemi Shinazugawa, the style allows him to cruise through demons like a tornado. Its offensive repertoire also allowed Sanemi to stand his ground agains??t Upper Moon Rank One Kokushibo in a duel even after the demon unsheathed his sword and revealed his true might.

4. Water Breathing

Giyu Tomioka.
Image via Ufotable

Known for being the most common among the Demon Slaye??r Corps, the Water Breathing style excels in both offense and defense by applying water properties to sw?ordsmanship, which allows it to make up for its lack of raw power with extreme adaptability. However, the style can only be brought to its full potential through its 11th form, Dead Calm.

Developed by Water Hashira Giyu Tomioka, Dead Calm sees u??sers become water by entering a heightened state and allows them to react to threats at almost instantaneous speed. But the form is? not perfect, as there's a limit to how many attacks one can perceive.

3. Stone Breathing

 Gyomei Himejima.
Image via Ufotable

Used by Gyomei Himejima, the strongest among the last generation of the Hashira, the Stone Breathing style makes use of momentum t??o produce devastating close and long-range combinations at a 360-degree angle, a feat only possible given its reliance on unconventional chained weapons, such as?? Himejima's Nichirin spiked flail and handaxe combo.

Although demanding a lot of its user's body, given the necessity to manipula??te the chain at all times, its use allowed Himejima to be a game changer in the fight against Upper Moon Rank One Kokushibo, all while guiding his comrades.

2. Moon Breathing

Kokushibo, as shown in the Demon Slayer manga.
Original image via Viz Media

A style created by Michikatsu Tsugikuni (later to be known as the demon Kokushibo) after his failure to learn his brother's Sun Breathing, the Moon Breathing is the style with the big?gest amount of forms to date, as it beneficiated greatly from the enhanced life spam its wielder boasted after being turned into a demon. True to that, many of its forms also use his Demon Blood Art and are paired with swordplay honed to almost perfection ?and a deep knowledge of all breathing styles.

That mix allowed Kokushibo to climb the ranks and take the spot as the first Upper Moon ??Demon, as well as keep the upper hand even while facing multiple marked Hashira during?? the Infinite Castle Arc.

1. Sun Breathing

Tanjiro performs a Sun Breathing form.
Image via Ufotable

The original breathing style, the Sun Breathing, was created by Yoriichi Tsugikuni and later adapted into the Kamado Family's Hinokami Kagura dance ritual. Boasting the main strengths of all of the main style branches, it's true might can only be achieved by linking together all of ??its forms.

A testament?? to both its power and its creator's might can be seen in how it was used by Yoriichi to bring Muzan to the brink of death during their first and only encounter. The wounds inflicte?d on the Demon King also damaged him to a cellular level and never fully healed, instead remaining as scars even half a century following their encounter.

The Hashira of Demon Slayer are the strongest warriors capa?ble of fighting against the demons. But despite their immense fighting capabilities, they are not invincible. Many have fallen or retired on duty. Even so, many continue to serve the corps in their own ways. The perfect?? example of that is the former Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui.

Unlike the previous articles of this type, I will mainly discuss stuff alre??ady shown in the anime. However, I will include details from Season 4, the Hashira Training Arc, so there will be minor spoilers if you haven't caught up to the latest season yet.

Who is Tengen Uzui?

With the dumb trio and Nezuko, Tengen Uzui is one of the main stars in the Entertainment District Arc. He is the one who forces the trio to j?oin him in his mission to rescue his three wives. The reason he needs their help is not because he is weak. He is one of the strongest Hashira in the series, but that's a discussion for later.

Tengen kidnaps the trio to make them infiltrate the Entertainment District and gather as much intel as they can. Meanwhile, Tengen himself lies lo?w to monitor the district's activity. During this mission, Tengen's modus operandi is clearly shown. He is noted to be one of the prettiest faces in the force as pointed out by many in the series and he uses this to his advantage. He utilizes his beauty when persuasion is needed. Although he usually wears a ninja-like attire as his typical demon slayer outfit, he wants everything to be flashy and outstanding.

Makio, Suma, and Hinatsuru Tengen's Wives in Demon Slayer
Image via Crunchyroll

Why does Tengen have three wives?

Tengen was born in a shinobi clan that employed rigorous training methods to harness i?ts members. Three of Tengen's siblings died before even reaching the age of ten due to the said training, while the remaining four were killed by either Tengen or his remaining brother. However, Tengen was completely oblivious to his siblicide until he reached 15. Only he, his father, and his brother remained at that time. Even so, he couldn't bring h?imself to kill either of them and opted to leave the clan.

The Uzui family is polygamous, so when Tengen left his clan, he already had three wives: Makio, Suma, and Hinatsuru. It's also a common notion in the ??family that having wives is only a means to produce more offspring. Tengen, however, wasn't fond of the idea. When he escaped with h?is three wives, he also changed their mindset. He taught them to abandon their kunoichi teaching and prioritize themselves over the mission. He genuinely loved all three of them, and his wives truly loved him.

Shortly after leaving their village, Tengen and his wives sought Kagaya and formally joined the demon slayers in their cause. While Makio, Suma, and Hinatsuru weren't members of the corps, they would still accom?pany and h??elp Tengen in his missions, as shown during the Entertainment District Arc.

How strong is Tengen Uzui?

Tengen may no longer be serving as the Sound Hashira, but he was a force to be reckoned with. Reaching his position, he was undeniably a master combatant. He was second only to Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Hashira, in strength and was the fastest among his peers. In addition, he is the first Hashira among his peers to take down an Upper Moon, and tha?t's ??without awakening his mark.

His outstanding combat ability is due to his harsh shinobi training, which taught him to move stealthily and ??developed his poison resistance. Tengen also has enhanced hearing abilities similar to Zenitsu. He can even use his hearing to echolocate, increasing his combat abilities. As a Hashira, Tengen is a master of a Breathing Style, the Sound Breathing, which he created. As its name suggests, this Breathing Style aims to mimic sounds, resulting in most attacks dealing explosive damage.

Combining his enhanced hearing with his Sound Breat??hing, Tengen executes a technique he calls Musical Score. Using Musical Score, Tengen analyzes his opponent's rhythm and attack patterns. He then creates a counter-tactic against them. The technique takes time to pull off, but it's so deadly that the technique allowed Tengen to defeat Upper Moon Six, albeit in exchange for his arm and eye.

Due to his injuries, Tengen is forced to retire as a Hashira. Even so, he still helps prepare the corps for their b??attle against Muzan. He is also still strong enough to?? beat up base Tanjiro and the other lower-ranking members of the corps.

Demon Slayer's Hashira Training arc continues to expound on the force's strongest warriors. Previously, I discussed Sanemi Shinazugawa, the ever-angry Wind? Hashira. With recent episodes showcasing the Stone Hashira's peculia?r training method, it's only proper to put Gyomei Himejima into the spotlight next.

Before proceeding, however, do take note that I will be including details from the latest episodes of Season 4, as well as ?developments from the manga. If you are not up to date with the series, you are likely to be spoiled. On that note, I will also do my best to separate manga details to avoid spoiling anime-only fans.

Who is Gyomei Himejima?

Gyomei Himejima is the current Stone Hashira and is said to be the strongest among the Hashira. He is the biggest Ha??shira in terms of size and height, easily towering over the others. But despite his hulking appearance, Gyomei bears a kind-hearted soul.

He frequently chants "Namu Amida Butsu" and is very sensitive. His eyes are often shown flowing with tears, and the reason for that can be as trivial as seeing litter on the ground. G?yomei, however, isn't a shallow c?haracter. Due to his religious upbringing, Gyomei respects all life, including demons. And this is harshly shown in his backstory.

Gyomei Himejima's Tragic Backstory

Gyomei's gentleheartedness becomes more impressive after learning of? his background story. Gyomei was born blind and lost his family due to unknown reasons. However, his dire beginning hardly stopped him from being a kind soul. In fact, he took in nine orphans in the rundown temple he was residing in during his teenage years.

At the time, Gyomei's physique was a far cry from his muscular frame. He was thin and frail??, trying to make ends meet for himself and his adopted children. Gyomei easily bonded with the children given their similar life situations, and they treated one another as family. With only Gyomei earning for them, they lived a life of poverty, yet Gyomei found those days happy and fulfilled.

However, it was not without hardship. The rundown temple they lived in was situated in an area known for demon attacks. As such, Gyomei strictly enforced strict rules upon the children? and burned Wisteria incense to ward off the man-eating creatures during the night. One unfortunate night, however, one of the children disobeyed the rules and ventured beyond the temple's borders; the child ran into a dem??on and made a deal with the vile creature to save his life. He promised to let the demon eat Gyomei and the other children in exchange for letting him live. And that's what he did.

The child led the demo??n back to the temple and put out the Wisteria incense. The demon then started attacking the children. Even at such a dire moment, Gyomei put himself at the forefront of danger. He instructed the children to stay behind him. However, only one child followed. The others fled, ?resulting in their demise. The tragedy still didn't end. Gyomei discovered his physical talent and managed to continuously punch the demon until daybreak, saving the youngest child Sayo.

But being only four at the time, Sayo referred to Gyomei as a monster and pinned the murder on him. This almost resulted in Gyomei's execution had Ubuyashiki not intervened. ??Even so, Gyomei found it inside to understand and forgive the children, albeit starting to develop distrust of other? people.

How strong is the Stone Hashira Gyomei Himejima?

There is a reason why the Stone Hashira Gyomei Himejima is dubbed as the strongest Hashira. For one, he is physically gifted. His lack of sight has caused his hearing to develop to a superhuman degree. As revealed in his backstory, he is strong enough to beat a demon until daybreak despite still havin??g a frail body.

His physique has swollen incredibly ever since he became a demon slayer, further increasing his physical abilities. But to fully understand how mighty Gyomei is, delving into manga territory is needed. If you are an anime-only fan, you may want to stop here.

Unlike the other demon slayers, Gyomei's weapon of choice isn't a Nichirin sword. Instead, he uses an axe chained to a spiked flail. Despite the weapon's weight, Gyome?i wields it with ease given his immense physical strength.

As a Hashira, Gyomei is a master of a Breathing Style Stone Breathing. Gyomei incorporates his enhanced hearing capabilities into his Breathing Style, allowing him to deliver a barrage of devast??????????????????????????ating attacks. In addition to Stone Breathing, Gyomei is also a master of a technique he refers to as Repetitive Action. It's a technique similar to Total Concentration Breathing, but it repeatedly recalls a painful past. By doing so, it allows the body to perform at tip-top shape at all times.

Utilizing everything and upon awa??kening his mark, Gyomei becomes strong enough to match Upp?er Moon One Kokushibo and even temporarily hold his ground against Muzan Kibutsuji himself.

In the world of Demon Slayer, the Demon Slayer Corps is humanity's last line of defense against Kibutsuji Muzan and his man-e??ating army. Unfortunately, however, not all Demon Slayers can hold their ground against the vile monstrosities.

The average Demon Slayer may be able to fight and even eliminate lower-ranked demons on their own, but they are helple??ss prey to stronger ones, especially the Upp??er Moons. The only Demon Slayers who can match these powerful monsters are the Hashira.

The Hashira are the strongest Demon Slayers

The Hashira is the highest achievable rank for a Demon Slayer. Unlike many organizations, the Hashira title is earned and not just handed out, especially ??since the Hashira are the strongest warriors among all the Demon Slayers.

//www.youtube.com/watch?v=7w5Vfjozzb8&list=PLrNN1YufWexzXXmqHKw_MMuP3J44jhQ-W&index=6

Each Hashira is a master of a Breathing Style, which can either be taught to them or developed by them. They ar??e strong enough to make easy work of the average demons, as well as hold their ground against Muzan's strongest henchmen -- the Twelve Demon Moons.

When Tanjiro ??joined the ?corps, there were nine Hashira. They were:

  • Kyojuro Rengoku - Flame Hashira
  • Tengen Uzui - Sound Hashira
  • Mitsuri Kanroji - Love Hashira
  • Gyomei Himejima - Stone Hashira
  • Muichiro Tokito - Mist Hashira
  • Obanai Iguro - Snake Hashira
  • Giyu Tomioka - Water Hashira
  • Shinobu Kocho - Insect Hashira

Unfortunately, Rengoku was fel??led ??by Akaza and Tengen was incapacitated during the Entertainment District Arc. In the latest season of the anime, the Hashira Training Arc, only seven Hashira remain active.

How to become a Hashira?

To become a Hashira, a Demon Slayer must prove their capabilities. There are two known ways to do that. The first is to either slay 50 demons wh?ile still at Kinoe rank or defeat a Demon Moon. The other option is to become a Hashira's Tsuguko, which is basically both their protégé and successor.

Becoming a Tsuguko is also a task of its own. It's a position that can be applied for, but it is ultimately up to the Hashira whether to accept the a??????????????????????????pplication.?? The Hashira may also scout and recruit their own Tsuguko, as what Rengoku tried to do to Tanjiro.

While becoming a Tsuguko almost guarantees becoming a Hashira, that will only come to fruiti??on should the Tsuguko's respective Hashira perish or retire.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that Demon Slayer is all about demon slaying??. However, that is easier said than done, as those actual demons are in no way weak.

Eliminating even the tiniest of demons is already a laudable feat; which is why the titular group cons??tantly hones its forces in preparation to face the mightiest of foes. But, interestingly enough, the one at its helm is not a swordsman with unparalleled skills but a dying man named Kagaya Ubuyashiki.

Kagaya Ubuyashiki has always been painted as physically pained. Despite attempting to train himself in swordsmanship, his body simply cannot endure the physical strain. And in the latest season of the Demon Slayer anime, the Hashira ?Training Arc, Kagaya has become too weak to even sit down and ??face the Hashira. So, what's actually plaguing him?

Kagaya Ubuyashiki is cursed

Kagaya isn't the fir?st Ubuyashiki to suffer from this condition, and that's because Kagaya i??sn't merely dealing with a disease but, a curse a curse so potent that it affects the entire Ubuyashiki bloodline. The curse stems from the fact that Kibutsuji Muzan, the forefather of demons, shares a blood relation with the Ubuyashiki Clan from a thousand years back.

The curse causes the Ubuyashi?kis' bodies to be physically weak and continuously deteriorate. The spreading scars on Kagaya's face are a manifestation of that curse. Now that the cu?rse has already spread down to Kagaya's body and hands, he no longer has the strength to get up.

Given their physique, most of the Ubuyashikis don't live to 30. The curse is also more fatal for males, as the other Ubuyushakis have the option to escape their accursed fate by marrying outside the family at the age of 13. Even though their circumstances are quite dire, all hope is not lost. There's a way to dispel the curse. All they have to do is eliminate the source of the curse Kibutsuji Mu?zan himself. As such, the Ubuyashiki family has made it their mission to kill the Demon King once and for all.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 4 is almost here, ushering in the beginning of the end of the ongoing anime adaptation. This upcoming highly-anticipated season covers the Hashira Training Arc from the manga. Here’s what you need to know about the release date and where to watch Demon Slayer Season 4.

Demon Slayer Season 4 release date, revealed

Fans will finally be able to see the return of this popular action anime as part of the Spring 2024 anime season. The Demon Slayer Season 4 release date is currently set for May 12, 2024. We don’t currently know how many episodes the season will include, however, the ??last two seasons had 11 episodes each.

It is possible Season 4 could follow the same pattern but we will have to wait and see for now. That said, some fans already saw the hour-long premiere of Season 4 during a special, limited-time cinema event.

Hashira Training Arc, explained

The Hashira Training Arc is the 10th story arc in the Demon Slayer manga ?and the last one before the Final Battle Arc, where the story closes. As such, this is a pretty important arc, even if it doesn’t have a lot of content to it. The arc is one of the shortest in the series with only nine chapters. This is pretty short compared to the previous season’s Swordsmith Village Arc, which covered about 30 chapters.

It will be interesting to see how long this season will be since the content of this arc only a??mounts to around three to five episodes in total. If th??is is a full-length season, there is a chance it could start diving into the final arc of the series or adapt anime-exclusive content.

The Hashira Training Arc mainly deals with Tanjiro and the other main characters training alongside the Hashira, or strongest slayers in the organization. It doesn’t have a lot of action due to its focus on improving battle skills and developing Tanjiro’s re?lationship with characters like the Stone Hashira, Gyomei ??Himejima.

How to stream Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba season 4

Once again, Demon Slayer Season 4 will be available to watch on Crunchyroll. This is the only official English platform hosting the new season of t??he anime in North America. Fans will be able to stream the new season’s first episode just a few hours after the release in Japan on May 12, 2024. If the simulcast follows the past seasons, every episode should release soon after it drops in Japan.

The initial release will only be for the English subtitles alongside the Japanese voiceovers. English dub fans will likely have to wait a bit longer to check out season 4. In the meantime while you wait, be sure to catch up on the past three seasons of the anime, plus the Mugen Train film, on Crunchyroll.

With the roaring success of Demon Slayer, Aniplex has been dipping their toes into the proverbial pool of licensed games. 2022's The Hinokami Chronicles brought the series into the hack-and-slash genre to a fairly positive reception. However, the next Demon Slayer title trades the arena battles for dice bloc??ks ?and minigames.

Announced as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Mezase! Saikyou Taishi!, via Gematsu, players will battle one another in the classic Mario Party formula with a twist.

As shown in the trailer provided by Aniplex, up to four players will roll the dice, walk spaces around the board, and compete in minigames to win currency to use against one another. Some of the games shown include a cup-and-ball-type game, and one where the players must slash targets as they rise from the ground. Much like Mario Party, some spaces will activate events where you may get an item to turn the tides of the game.

Kamado Party

After some time, the game will transition from day to night, where players will be able to take on the many demons roaming around the board. Once you encounter them, all four players will have to work together to defeat it. The Demon Slayer party game also boasts a roster of charac??ters from all throughout the series, allowing you to choose from a handful of your favorite characters.

Though Aniplex hasn't announced who's going to be developing the game, Aniplex itself is producing the title. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Mezase! Saikyou Taishi! is currently slated for a 2024 release?? on the Nintendo Switch for Japan, with no mention of other consoles.

Out on June 10, just in time for E3

It was rumored recently and now we have confirmation: a Demon S??layer Switch port is on the way, due out in June.

Based off of the mouthful of a title Demon Slayer -Kimetsu ?no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles that just came out recently, the game will be making the rounds on every major platform later this year, as it's already out on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The exact date is June 10, 2022, and according to Sega, this is going to be the same version as those existing editions. But naturally, you'll be able to benefit from post-launch updates that have since added six new characters to the fray, as well as online missions and balance changes. A physical edition for Demon Slayer Switch is confirmed, with the unceremonious "Kimetsu Academ??y Character Unlock Key (Tanjiro Kamado)" bonus.

I'm still shocked that this is an anime game based on a major property not published by Bandai Namco (especially given the CyberConnect2 connection), but it played out very s??imilarly to a lot of those titles. It gets ?the job done for hardcore fans, but doesn't take very many risks, and tends to just summarize the events you may have already seen rather than add anything substantial.

Still, it's a flashy arena fighter, which is ?more than ??????????????????????????enough for a sales punt on a rainy weekend for a lot of folks.

Still due in October

Demon Slayer is making all the right moves lately. It's coming off of a mega-hit film that's both critically and commercially acclaimed, and season 2 is going to be broadcasted in October. Hey, that's when the Demon Slayer game is out! Perfect timing.

Due on October 15 worldwide on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S (basically everything but Switch), the full name of the Demon Slayer game is actually Kimetsu no Yaiba The Hinokami Chronicles.

Today we're actually getting a look at its battle mode in a new trailer, which will mostly consist of slayer versus slayer combat. Although we've already had plenty of hint??s and confirmat??ion throughout the past few mo?nths, the game's [current] roster is on display below, so you can see for yourself. As a reminder, it's a 1-2 player game with online play available, via a 2v2 setup.

It'll also sport a story mode, which takes players through the initial season one arc, as well as the film. This is where the demons enter the fray, ?as prior story trailers have confirmed. That list includes battling the Hand Demon, Swamp Demon, and Kyogai in the Tsuzumi Mansion.

Giyu Tomioka waves his foes goodbye. Literally.

Aniplex, in association with developer CyberConnect2, has released the new trailer for its upcoming video game adaptation of popular manga/anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Hinokami Keppuutan, which launches on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC?? platforms later in 2021.

T?he new video focuses on one of the franchise's major demon slayers, Giyu Tomioka, who is the current Water Hashima, (essentially a posse of element-based swordmasters) as he lays waste to his hapless opponent. Barely breaking a sweat nor his stoic nature, Tomioka demonstrates his graceful and devastating sword skills, before winding up the battle by calling upon the very waves themselves. Better bring an umbrella.

Aniplex has restricted the trailer to specific territories, but you can check out a re-up of the video below, courtesy of Gematsu. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Hinokami Keppuutan will launch in ??Japan on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X later in 2021. The anime fighter is yet to receive official confirmation of a western release.
