Less than five months after the release of developer C Prompt Games and publisher Paradox Interactive's 4X title Millennia, the historical-turn-based game's first expansion, Ancient Worlds, has been released today. Released alongside the expansion is Update 5, which adds mod support and more to Millennia.

The Ancient Worlds expansion adds an all-new Nomadic Band start, allowing players to start their Millennia run as a band of unsettled travelers, scavenging the frozen terrain of the post-??Ice Age world for natural resources until they feel strong enough to settle down and start their actual society. Ferocious Megafauna stalked the frozen tundra, threatening the nomadic tribes' very existence but also allowing for some unique new events and experiences.

A new national spirit, Messengers, will be available as an Age II National Spirit that puts emphasis on early game diplomacy. You can give gifts to rival nations, gather resour??ces from minor nations, ensure their independence, and reap benefits from a new Llama special resource. Using the new Band Society starting government, you can opt to take short-term bonuses to boost your tribal camps as opposed to building up your homeland, utilizing a Nomadic Band to scavenge the terrain a?nd settle an additional Capital Region via this new start.

With the release of Ancient Worlds, Millennia has one more DLC, Atomic Ambitions, sche??duled as part of its 2024 roadmap that is expected to be released in Q4 2024. The DLC will launch alongside Update 6 which adds ??Steamworks Mod support, a Strategic Warfare system, Simultaneous Multiplayer, and much more.

The Millennia: Ancient Worlds expansion is available now for $9.99. For those who purchased the Millennia expansion pass, it is included with it.

During today's Xbox Partner Showcase, Atlus revealed Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis, The Answer, will in fact be coming to the RPG after all. It will be part of a 3-wave Expansion Pass for Persona 3 Reload tha?t includes BGM sets and Velvet costumes as well. While the cosmetic content releases next week and in May, The Answer releases in September.

Persona 3 Reload: Expansion Pass

The Expansion Pass is split into three waves. The first wave releases on March 12 and includes a Persona 5 Royal EX BGM Set and a Persona 4 Golden EX BGM Set. Then, in May, Expansion Pass owners will receive the Velvet Costume cosmetics and a new BGM Set. Finally sometime in September, Episode Aigis, The Answer, will be released. The Answer is essentially post-ending DLC to Persona 3 which?? expands the story and adds some new content as well.

Surely, not everyone is going to be happy with this news. For starters, many were shocked to see that Persona 3 Reload would not include The Answer in the base game. Also, choo??sing to bundle it into an Expansion Pass that features some music and ?a few costumes with a $35 price tag seems a bit steep when the base game was already $70.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will get access to the Expansion Pass for free thro??ugh Janua?ry 31, 2025.

Persona 3 Reload: Expansion Pass w??ill be available starting March 12 when the first BGM wave drops. It ?will cost $34.99 and be available on Steam, Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

Can you believe it’s been about a year since Splatoon 3’s Expansion Pass became available for purchase? Until now, buyers have only had Inkopolis Plaza to provide value for their dollar, bu??t on February 22, 2024, the Side Order campaign will release.

In anticipation of the new campaign, Nintendo has served up a solid slice of Side Order gameplay in the form of an explainer trailer. It dives into what the campaign entails, going deep into the main loop of its roguelite gamepla??y.

Inkopolis Square, the hub from Splatoon 2, is suffering fr?om some pretty harsh coral bleaching an??d is devoid of color. Partnered with Pearl in drone form, Agent 8 (that’s you) must climb the Spire of Order to�fix it, I’m assuming.

You ascend the spire, floor by floor, collecting color chips that will enhance your abilities. Your goal is to climb ??the tower as far as you can before expiring. Then, you get points (pearls) for your collected chips and can use those to give Agent 8 a good buffing.

It’s pretty much roguelite trappings at their most basic. However, I can dig it. Splatoon has experimented with different approaches to? turn its competitive focus into a single-player experience, and the typical campaign format tends to leave me a bit cold. While I’m not a huge fan of the roguelite formula, I think that, as an excuse to play by your lonesome, it can work in Side Order. Plus, I’m digging the more muted color palette that the expansion has. It really contrasts the usually bright inks of the main game.

Splatoon 3 is available on Switch. The Expansion Pass is already available, but the Side Orde??r campaign portion of it will launch on Febru??ary 22, 2024.

Paradox Interactive unveiled its plans for grand strategy title Crusader Kings 3 over the next year. The new chapter features two new expansions including a Byzantine-themed Major Expansion, an event pack, and a free cosmetic clothing addon. All of this new content is part of the Crusader Kings 3 Chapter 3 Expansion Pass.

Legends of the Dead

The first new content as part of the third chapter is the Legends of the Dead core expansion. Availa??ble March 4, the expansion adds new activities, events, and features to the grand strategy game. New features include:

• Legends: Commission an epic retelling of your family history or build your own heroic reputation through great deeds. Promote this legend, far and wide, and see how the stories of the past reverberate through the centuries, and add even more glory to legendary dynasties.
• Legendary Playstyle: Leverage your living legend status through new Decisions and actions, keeping the stories of your family in the minds of a continent, strengthening the legitimacy of your rule and allowing further choices.
• Legendary Buildings:  Your legendary reputation gives you access to new elite buildings, cementing your legacy for future generations.
• Legendary Feasts: Poets and bards can ornament your celebrations with songs and odes to your greatness, inspiring your guests to spread the tale of your legendary generosity.
• Court Chroniclers: Hire an official historian to spread the story of your dynasty’s great accomplishments, or use your poets and musicians to turn your actions into art.
• Two New Legacies: A new Heroic dynastic Legacy for the heirs of legendary characters, even using the great deeds of ancestors to justify claims from the distant past, as well as a Legitimacy Legacy that promotes your dynasty as the true rulers of the realm.

Into the Future

After the release of Legends of the Dead, another major expansion and an event pa?ck are still in the plans for 2024. The first, Roads to Power, is a Byzantine Empire-themed expansion. Players can rule Constantinople through a new ?Administrative Government form and experience new Byzantine-themed events and flavors. With this expansion, you'll also have the ability to live your life roaming the map as an adventurer for hire, a first for the series.

In the Wandering Nobles event pack, Crusader Kings 3 looks to build upon the travel system introduced in the Tours and Nightmares event pack. Wandering Nobles add?s a new travel system and new ways and reasons to travel including new incidents and stories.

Crusader Kings 3: Legends of the Dead will be available on March 4, while the rest of the new content is scheduled over the rest of 2024. Those interested can pre-purchase the Chapter 3 Expansion Pass and gain immediate access to the free Couture of the Capets cosmetic clothi??ng add-on.

More greatness for one of the best RPGs ever

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has cemented itself as one of the greatest RPGs ever created. With its outstanding score, excellent battle system, memorable characters, and impactful story, it honestly feels like the summation of everything Monolith Soft has been working toward with this series. If you enjoyed the game, you probably picked up the Expansion Pass DLC already. Arriving way ahead of schedule for that DLC is Wave 4, the final wave of new content for the game. As promised, Wave 4 includes a new story scenario dubbed Future Redeemed.

If you've been waiting a while for this DLC to arrive, you won't have to wait much longer to play it because Nintendo is dropping Future Redeemed next week.

That's not the only bit of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 news Nintendo announced tonight. It confirmed the Pyra and Mytha Super Smash Bros. amiibo double-pack will launch on July 21, 2023. If you use these amiibo with XC3, you'll unlock two unique A?egis Sword weapon sk??ins for the Swordfighter class.

If you choose not to pick up the amiibo, Nintendo confirmed the Aegis Sword skins will be unlockable within the game following a future patch. If you are still an amiibo fan, know that two more Xenoblade Chronicle 3 amiibo figures are on the way for Noah and Mio.

We heard you like Nintendo handhelds

Two new Nintendo platforms are coming to the Nintendo Switch Online service. Both Game Boy and Game Boy Advance are coming to Nint??endo Switch Online, with the former available for all subscribers and GBA specifically on the Expansion Pass.

As shown in today's Nintendo Direct, both platforms are launching today with a library of classics from both. Each platform will have online multiplayer ?with friends as well; Game Boy will feature two-player, while GBA will have four-player options.

The Game Boy will offer a range of different color options, to imitate ??the various filters and screens of the handheld. Here's the launch line-up:

Squid Sisters Forever

The ink has dispersed around Splatoon 3’s first DLC. The Splatoon 3 Expansion pass has been announced, with the first of two waves ??i?s coming in Spring 2023.

The first wave has revealed a return of the original Splatoon’s Inkopolis hub area. This includes the shops, with some familiar faces showing up. The Squid Sisters will ?also perform during Splatfests.

Not much was really shown beyond the hub world. I’d have to think that there’s more to it than just that, however, even though it pokes the nostalgia center of the brain nicely. The tempura dude, Fred Crumbs loo?ks pretty awesome. And delicious.

The second wave of the DLC is titled “side order,�but beyond that, we mostly have just a teaser. It shows a town that resembles a bleached reef with an Octoling standing am?ong the whitened buildings.

The expansio??n pass should be available to pur?chase today. However, we’re waiting until Spring 2023.

Get more party members in the mix

The next addition to the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass adds more party to the mix. Mechanical hero Ino leads the additions to Xenoblade Chronicles 3 in the Wave 2 DLC on October 13.

Alo??ngside Ino, there are also some challenge missions and a special cosmetic set of swimwear for the crew.
