Fatal Fury is back ??and fans could not be more excited to return to South T??own and see —after multiple crossovers�Terry Bogard and Rock Howard back in the leading roles.

But with the exception of the duo, which characters are set to be featured in the game's main roster? Here are all the characters confirmed to be present in Fatal Fury City of the Wolves.

Apart from Terry and Rock, B. Jenet, Preecha, Vox Reaper, Marco Rodrigues, Hotaru Futaba, Tizoc, Kevin Rian, Billy Kane, and Mai Shiranui are confirmed to be part of the Fatal Fury City of the Wolves main roster. According to SNK, the game will have a total of 17 playable characters at launch, with five more alrea??dy confirmed to be released during its first DLC season. Rock Howard

Terry's protegee and Geese Howard's son, City of the Wolves marks Rock's second outing as the series' co-protagonist. Like in Garou: Mark of the Wolves, he seems to be a rushdown characte?r capable of excelling by both keeping opponents in check and closing the distance fast. As you can see below, he still retains his original moves, as well as the ones learned from Terry and inherited through his blood.

Terry Bogard

It wouldn't be a Fatal Fury title without the Hu?ngry Wolf, am I right? Not much is known about Terry's story within the game, except for the fact that he spent years fighting after he and his disciple went their separate ways in the previous entry. As you can see below, he seems to continue his streak as the ideal all-rounder, being able to fit both aggressive and more reactive playstyles.

Preecha

Making her debut in the franchise, Preecha is both a talented scientist and Joe Higashi's pupil. She makes use of an adapted form of Muay Thai in combat and as we could expect, seems to play sim?ilarly to how her master does. You can check out her? gameplay in the trailer below:

Hotaru Futaba

One of the best characters among the Mark of the Wolves roster, Hotaru Futaba returns, this time set to once and for all get her older brother back. As their stories are deeply intertwined, her summary all but confirms Gato as part of the game's main roster. Yo??u can check out Futaba's moveset in the trailer below.

Tizoc

A soon-to-be main for many of the King and Zangief players we all love to face, Tizoc also returns in CoTW. Now back into the ring for good, The Griffen Mask joins the newly announced KOF tournamen?t to lift the spirits of one of his fans.?? You can see a glimpse of his moveset in the trailer below:

Marco Rodrigues

City of the Wolves marks Marco's first appearance in any SNK game since 2006's SNK Vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash DS. Once more making use of Kyokugen Karate, the Brazilian sensei enters the new KOF tournament in the hopes of both recovering hi??s stolen Dojo sign and spreading the word about his fighting style.

B. Jenet

A fan favorite since her debut in Mark of the Wolves, it was clear that B. Jenet would return on CoTW.?? This time, the captain of the Lillien Knights joins the KOF tournament for a chance to face both Grant and Kai again. As you can see in the trailer below, she seems to have access to most of her previous moves. But she won't be limited to them, as showcased by th?e counter that took the internet by storm since her reveal.

Vox Reaper

An assassin for hire, who is taken under Grant's wing after failing to kill Mark of the Wolves' villain Ka????in R. Heinlein, Vox Reaper features what I can only call a caffeine-infused version of his master's playstyle. His motivation in the game seems to be to both honor Grant's wishes and see Kai's ambitions fulfilled.

Kevin Rian

A MoTW top-tier whose fighting style mixes grabs, heavy hits, and a lot of explosions, Kevin Rian returns in City of the Wolves. His goal? To find Freeman —the man responsible? for the death of his best friend. Like with Gato and Futaba, his summary heavily hints at his rival's presence within the gam?e's main roster.

Billy Kane

After being left out of the previous entry, B?illy Kane and his bo staff are back. Now the leader of the Howard Connection and carrying the responsibility of keeping his ??master's empire alive, Billy joins the tournament for one reason above all, to hunt the Legendary Hungry Wolf.

Mai Shiranui

The heir to the Shiranui-style ninjutsu, Mai returns to the Fatal Fury franchise after her unexpected exclusion from Mark of the Wolves. Now donning a new look and using an even more refined version of her explosive fighting style, she arrives in South Town after following an important ti??p-off from Sokaku Mochizuki. Although their stories have been deeply intertwined since Mai's debut, it's still unknown if Andy will be featured as part of the game's base roster.

When is Fatal Fury CoTW being released?

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be released on April 24, 2025. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. If you cannot wait, those who preorder the title will be able to play it three days early. Doing so will also get you access to a Fatal Fury 2 DLC costume for Terry.

Street Fighter 6 x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

After a musical performance of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song, Capcom announced a new crossover for Street Fighter 6. Starting August 8, there will be four skins for your custom characters based on the radical reptiles, pizza-riffic emotes, new titles?, stamps, mobile wallpaper, and camera frames. This bit of EVO 2023 news was one of the highlights of the show for me.

A.K.I. joins the battle in Street Fighter 6

Capcom also teased its next Street Fighter 6 ?character, A.K.I. She looks twisted, and poisons you??r custom character in the trailer. No gameplay was shown, but we do know she'll be available sometime this Fall.

Ashrah, Havik, and Reptile are in Mortal Kombat 1

Three new characters were announced in a stellar Mortal Kombat 1 trailer. You'll be able to play as Ashrah, Havik, and Reptile when the game arrives on September 19, 2023. Ashrah is a surprising choice, as she hasn't been in the series since the PS2 game Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. Regardless, she looks like she fits in with her brutal Fatality??. Sareena is also coming back, but as a Kameo fighter this time around.

Johnny returns in Guilty Gear Strive's Season Pass 3

Shirtless and ready to strike his foes, Johnny returns as the first character of Guilty Gear Strive's Season Pass 3. He swings his katana with a quickening pace, and also unleashe??s cards, even turning people into them and slashing them up when the o??pportunity arises. He'll be available to play on August 24.

Season Pass 3 will include one more character in 2023 and an additional two in 2024. It will also come with two more stages, more color vari?ants for your characters, and two extra colors for the Season 3 characters.

Arc System Works also confirmed that the game's reached 2.5 million players, making Guilty Gear Strive a huge success for the studio.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves hypes up the crowd

After The King of Fighters and Samurai Shodown getting acclaim from fans and critics alike, the Fatal Fury series is returning with City of the Wolves. Not much was announced, but there was a little teaser by SNK, showcasing Terry and Rock Howard in the game. The graphics seem to be an upgrade too, with more visual details and improved lightin??g.

No release date has been given, but SN??K fittingly said it is "fur?iously in development."

The King of Fighters XV adds Najd and Duo Lon, and KOF XIII gets a re-release date

On August 8, Najd will be available as a DLC character in The King of Fighters XV. Duo Lon will then follow her sometime this A??utumn, which starts on September 23 ?and ends on December 21.

Additionally, The King of Fighters XIII Global Match w?ill hit PS4 and Switch on November 16 with rollb?ack netcode.

Raven and Azucena join the Tekken 8 roster

Fan favorite character Raven and the coffee-obsessed newcomer Azucena are a part of the Tekken 8 roster. Raven is using his shadow skills that might remind you of Naruto's Shadow Clone Jutsu. Meanwhile, Azucena has an intriguing dodge feature with some tasty counters shown off in the trailer. Tekken 8 still has no release date attached.

League of Legends fighting game Project L adds Yasuo

The in-development 2v2 fighter Project L is adding the champion Yasuo into the mix. His move set includes a far-reaching sword and quick attacks in the air. He can also release tornados ?and wind walls against his opponents.

"He can outplay with mix-ups, he can go to the air for really technical combos, play defense with his wind wall, o??r honestly just win neutral with his huge normals," said lead champion designer Alex Jaffe. Sadly, no release date for Project L was announced amid all the n?ews at Evo 2023.

Plankton is a new character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2

The tiny Plankton from Bikini Bottom is joining the bout in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 in a mech. He has all sorts of weaponry to fight off the likes of Aang, Reptar, and Spongebob Square??Pants. He, alongside Squidward, will b?e a part of the main roster when the game launches later this year.

Killer Instinct is getting a huge update

Cult-favorite Killer Instinct is getting a major update from Xbox Game Studios and Iron Galaxy for the first time in years. It will include better matchmaking, a balance update, and all-new 4K support on Xbox Series X|S. It will be coming this Fall. Now that Iron Galaxy and Xbox are working together on this, perhaps talk of a sequel could arise between the two companies after Rumbleverse's shutdown in February.

Under Night In-Birth 2 Sys:Celes is bringing "Dramatic Stylish 2D Fighting Action" in 2024

After more than ten years and many versions, Under Night In-Birth is getting a sequel. It will be launching early next year for the PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Sorry, Xbox fans. Additionally, there will be rollback netc??ode.

Arc System Works says there will be "completely redesigned visuals" and "even more playable characters to be added" down the line. The trailer's description also touts that there will be "new moves and new battle systems" that further evolve the battle in Under Night In-Birth 2 Sys:Celes.

GranBlue Fantasy Versus: Rising gets a release date

The release date for the sequel Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is November 30, as announced at Evo. As the festive season begins, we'll be battling it out as Gran and other characters in a three-part story and a new mode called Grand Bruise. Additionally, there is crossplay and rollback netcode avai??lable in this new version of the game. More characters are av??ailable too, including Anila, Grimnir, Nier, and Siegfried.

Maypul comes to Rivals 2

Finally, the fox-like combatant Maypul joins the Smash-like Rivals 2. She brings three different plants with her to the battle, including Lily, Terry, and Poppy. She'll also be the fastest c??haracter in the game. Maypul's combos look thrilling in the trailer itself. The game launches sometime next year.

"Stop typing Fatal Furries," he yelled at himself

Evo 2022 marks the first time I've actually sat down and watched every Top 8 in the tournament, and I have to say that, besides the dullness of Robocop vs. Robocop in Mortal Kombat 11, this year has been tremendous to watch. Several of these Grand Finales have been pretty damn epic. I've been enthralled watching these professional fighters show just what is possible with complete mastery of these fighting games. Unfortunately, blockbuster announcements out of Evo have been pretty scarce this year. The reveal of Marie as a playable character in Skullgirls 2nd Encore kicked things off right, but Saturday was mostly quiet on this front. Leave it to Sunday's King of Fighters XV Top 8 to turn things around. We got a bevy of announcements following the Grand Finale, including the confirmation of a new Fatal Fury/Garou.

There's not much to go on there, but hey, it's just great to know that this is in development. It has been quite some time since SNK has taken a turn with this series. The last original Fatal Fury/Garou game released in 1999. No releas??e d??ate or platforms were given, but I can only assume this game will be the highlight of a future Evo tournament.

Outside of that news, SNK also revealed what's coming next to its current hit fighter. Team Awakening Orochi, consisting of Orochi Yashiro, Orochi Shermie, and Orochi Chris, arrives tomorrow, August 8, for the King of Fighters XV. This autumn, the fourth team of DLC characters will arrive for the game as a crossover with the Samurai Shodown franchise. Haohmaru, Darli Dagger, and Nakoruru will make up Team Samurai. To t?op it all off, a second season of DLC was announced for 2023 ??that will include Shingo Yabuki and Kim Kaphwan as well as crossplay between platforms.

Some other announcements out of Evo 2022 include the addition of rollback netcode to Dragon Ball FighterZ, which is great because I want that game to have a long, long life in the competitive scene. It's too much of a joy to watch for it to not be on the main stage. Rollback netcode is also coming to Samurai Shodown next year.

Gather round kids. Y'see back in my day we didn't have this plethora of great Netflix video game adaptations. Castlevania? The Witcher? Pah, we were lucky if we got a censored, poorly translated VHS of anything that was rolling out of Japan. Time has been kinder to us, however, and we are finally being given access to some of the old-school cool that eluded us in the halcyon days of the early '90s. Case in point: The Fatal Fury anime, which is finally headed to Blu-ray.

Two classic TV specials based on SNK's legendary fighting franchise will be getting a long-overdue remaster, courtesy of publisher Discotek Media. The upcoming Blu-ray will include both 1992's Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf and its 1993 follow-up, Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle. Beautifully scanned from an original film negative, both specials will be presented in glor??ious 1080p, and will feature their English and Japanese voice track options, as well as bran??d-new, fully corrected subtitles.

Viewers will also be able to check out the Japanese and U.S. openings for both OVAs and witness a previously cut scene from Fatal Fury 2 for the first time. While all of the special features are yet to be revealed, the Blu-ray will include original trailers, an art gallery, and full commentary featuring Discotek producer Brady Hartel and anime fan Matt McMuscles. While no street date for the Blu-ray was announced, this eventual release will be a no-brainer for video game anime fans, sitting perfectly alongside Discotek's previously released disc for 1994's Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture.
