Wachumeqimeqi Deliveries are an amazing way to not only gain a ton of experience for your crafters in Final Fantasy XIV but also get into the ?nitty-gritty of the lore in Yak Tural and beyond.
If you’re looking to level your crafters from 90 to 100 in Dawntrail, I strongly recommend doing the Wachumeqimeqi Deliveries side quests. While some of the crafts themselves can be a little challenging with under-leveled gear (if you’re like me and stubbornly refuse to buy any new gear before hitting 100), the stories told by ??the Wachumeqimeqi NPCs are touching, and each grants a unique title.
If you?’re wondering which crafting or gathering class to start leveling first, or you just want to know what you’re up against before you get there, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.
For each crafting-related ?NPC in Wachumeqimeqi Deliveries, there are six quests to complete (not including the initial introductory quest). For most of these, you’ll need to source your own materials either through gathering or purchasing them on the Marketboard. For each NPC, the second level 95 quest materials and only level 100 quest materials are provided as part of the quest.
Apart from the second level 95 quest and the level 100 quest, you’ll need to ??make six of each item.

]]>Final Fantasy XIV is an MMO that allows you to switch your job at the click of a button, without the need to change characters. Your gear automa?tically assigns, you get a shiny new weapon, and each expansion adds new jobs to try and master.
Whether you’re just diving into your Eorzean adventure, or you’re a seasoned veteran at this point stuck in a leveling rut, there are a lot of different options for grinding out those levels. With the new level cap of 100 added with Dawntrail, the nu??mbers can seem a little daunting, but there are valuable rewards on offer fo?r those who do the work.
I know that everyone has their main job, be it Tank, DPS, or Healer, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth it to branch out and get a feel for the other roles. Stepping out of your comfort zone and putting yourself ?in a different pair of shoes can actually help you to understand fights, mechanics, and what’s need??ed of you in your main role.
The maximum level back when A Realm Reborn was released was 50, and as previously stated, it’s now increased to 100. Reaching a previous or current level cap with all jobs will gain you rewards, with the value? of the reward increasing as you progress through higher levels. We can pretend that the level 90 reward wasn’t a bizarre and widely unloved choice, although I’d like? to see it turned into a Dancer weapon so it might at least be useful.
Regardless, here are all of the level cap rewards from level 50 to 100, including the titles rewarded for leveling all jobs in the Disciple of War (DoW) or Magic (DoM) ca??tegories:
Level | Titles | Overall reward |
---|---|---|
50 | DoW: Warmonger DoM: Archmage |

There are a few different items that are available to players in order to boos?t EXP gain when levelling. The most important of these are the jewelry items that are available as part of pre-ordering future expansions. T??hese can come in particularly handy if you’re leveling a job from scratch, as most of them boost your EXP gain by 30%.
Here are all of the jewelry? items and how to get them:
Jewelry | EXP bonus | How to get |
---|---|---|
Moogle Cap | 20% up to level 10 | Pre-ordering A Realm Reborn |
Helm of Light | 20% up to level 10 | A Realm Reborn Collector’s Edition |
Friendship Circlet | 20% up to level 26 | Recruit a Friend reward |
Brand New Ring | 30% up to level 30 | Hall of the Novice |
Ala Mhigan Earring | 30% up to level 50 | Pre-ordering Stormblood |
Aetheryte Earring | 30% up to level 70 | Pre-ordering Shadowbringers |
Menphina Earring | 30% up to level 80 | Pre-ordering Endwalker |
Azeyma’s Earring | 30% up to level 90 | Pre-ordering Dawntrail |
As well as these jewelry pieces, remember to utilize Free Company Actions (or get your FC Leader to make sure they’re active) to get a 10% boos??t and make sure to eat for an additional 3% boost. These all stack on top of each oth??er, so you can end up with a maximum boost of 43%, depending on what level you’re playing at.
As I said, the concept of grinding out all of those levels for every job can seem particularly daunting, especially with new jobs that start at a lower level than the previous level c??ap or if you’re just starting out. There is a long list of options when it comes to leveling, but it can be all too easy to get bogged down in routine and forget about the very lucrative side hustles on offer.
Look, I know that the thought of running Praetorium or Castrum for the thousandth time isn’t the most thrilling? of ideas, but there’s a reason that queues do (eventually, if you’re playing DPS) pop: roulettes offer a huge amount of EXP for relatively little effort, and you should definitely get down to business after the daily reset each day.
The best roulettes for leveling purposes are Leveling, Main Scenario, and PvP. While other roulettes do offer EXP, of course, you can probably give them a miss if you want to get those levels up quick?ly. Bonus points if you’re the “Adventurer in Need,?which not only increases the EXP you’ll gain but also offers a nice amount of Gil as a passive bonus.
While Khloe might seem like she’s stingy with her sticker placement, the rewards on offer for Wondrous Tales take a backseat to the amount of EXP on offer for completing her requested nine duties, which is guaranteed to give you at least half a level regardless ??of what your starting level was.
If you’ve been running your daily roulettes, you’ve likely amassed the full nine retries as ??well, meaning you can simply pick the easiest duty on the list (usually a low-level extreme trial or Alexander raid), keep using your retries and knock out half a level in under half an hour.
Forget about that unbelievably cheesy header (I’m not sorry) and focus on the fact that FATEs are an amazing way to crank out EXP in a relatively short period of time. At a minimum, Dawntrail FATEs offer up to around 500,000 EXP per FATE without adding on bonuses, the EXP boosts you h?ave applied, or whether you’ve recently f?elled a Forlorn Maiden or not.
Plus, as you grind out those FATEs in Shadowbringers, Endwalker, and Dawntrail zones, you’ll be earning Bicolor Gemstones that can be traded for some pretty epic rewards, so you’re getting somet??hing out of it either way.
If you don’t feel like waiting for long periods as a DPS player queues for dungeons, consider leveling and using your Trust or Duty Support to get you through content. These features allow you to run through dungeons with a party of NPCs who make up the rest of the party, meaning there’s never a need to queue, and you still get the full EXP that you wou??ld for queueing for the same dungeon the old-fashioned way.
Now look, I’m the first to admit that this method can, at times, be infuriating. The NPCs seem allergic to AOEs, so you’ll be single-targeting every enemy in every dungeon that you run. Sometimes, the healers seem intent on letting you die, and you’ll have to adjust to coded placement to avoid them stacking AOEs on top of your head. Not to mention the fact that Alisaie is an absolute nightmare with a Limit Break?/p>
However, I’ll take all of that over 30 minutes or more queues to run a single dungeon on a DPS job. Plus, this can be done solo, so you can just zone out and rest assured that you’re not endangering or annoying other players if you get something wrong. It’s ?also an excellent way to get to grips with mechanics that you aren’t entirely sure about without feeling embarrassed at your own mishandling of them.
And, as an added bonus, all of the loot is yours, so if yo?u want to get your hands on a particular glamor set of minions, then this is a great way to do that.
Formerly known as Tribal Quests and even more formerly known as Beast Tribe Que?sts, Allied Society Quests can offer up a large amount of EXP for a very small amount of work. There are multiple Allied Societies for each expansion, with higher-level Societies offering up more EXP for quests completed.
You get an allowance of 12 Allied Society Quests per day, with three available from each Allied Society every day, and you can easily gain a third to a half of a level, depending on the level of the Allied Society Quests themselves. Currently, the highest-level Allied Society is the Pelupelu in Kozama’uka.
Each Allied Society has rewards on offer for increasi?ng your reputation with them, including emotes, mounts, minions, titles, and even some glamor items that aren’t to be sniffed at.
After completing the level 15 quest “Rising to the Challenge?(head to Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks and talk to I’tolwann (X:11?.4, Y:11.0) if you haven’t done this yet!), you’ll gain access to the Challenge Log.
This log is split into different categories, including Battle, Crafting & Gathering, and Levequests. While some challenges reward other currencies upon completion, such as Wolf Marks or MGP, battle challenges will reward you with a huge boost of EXP (sometimes over a million) for completing certain t??asks like running a fixed number of dungeons, giving a fixed number of commendations,?? or even running FATEs.
The Challenge Log refreshes at the same time as the general weekly reset, 2 a.m. on a Tuesday, so make sure you complete them before this happens to get the ?most EXP for? your efforts.
They might not offer up the biggest amount of EXP, but side quests are just sitting there waiting to be done and give added background lore that you’d otherwise miss out on. I suggest this as a last resort, but if y??ou’re at a loose end and waiting for a dungeon to pop, clearing out an area of side quests can be a good way to get some extra EXP when all else fails.
While there aren’t as many options for leveling, crafting and gathering jobs in FFXIV, there are still a few things you can do?? to prevent you having to quick-synth hundreds of it?ems.
Don’t be scared away from using manuals by the “effect is halved after level ???in the?? description. Yes, you won’t get quite the 150% boost to EXP, but you shouldn’t turn your nose up at a 75% increase in crafting or gather??ing EXP.
I say this from personal experience: yes, doing this is awkwar??d. You’ll need to keep an eye out for the notification telling you that you’re no longer getting an EXP boost, stop crafting or gathering, and then use another manual before continuing to do whatever you were doing. However, seeing those levels go up so quickly is definitely worth it.
These can be purchased from any Scrip Exchange vendor for 30 Purple Scrips each. Make sure you ??get the Revised version, as these will last you the longest. Engineering Manuals apply to crafting classes, while Survival Manuals apply to gathering classes, so make sure you get the right one as well.
Leves are a valuable source of large amounts of EXP, and there are Leves available at all levels. Crafting Leves require you to craft certain items (or purchase them on the Marketboard ready-made if you’re rolling in Gil and feeling lazy), then hand the?m in to get the EXP. Handin?g in HQ items will
Gathering Leves are harder to cheat (except Fishing, which can also be completed using items purchased on the Marketboard), but they’re still not difficult. You’ll need to go t?o a certain location, gather up a certain number of items, and then talk to the Leve person wherever you picked up the quest. Bonuses are applied for overachieving during the Leve quest, so the better you do, the quicker you’ll level up.
Custom Deliveries are available in each expansion, with higher-level Custom Deliveries NPCs offering higher amounts of EXP for hand-ins. These will require you to craft ?high-level items, but if you’re over-leveled by ten levels, you can use the “Trained Eye?ability to instantly score 100% ??collectability, maximizing the amount of EXP you get for handing items in.
GC hand-ins are, by far, the easiest way to level up crafters and gatherers. Each day at 3 p.m. EST / 12 p.m. PST, your respective GC will have a new selection of items that they want to hand in. As with Leves, handing in HQ versions of these items will give you double the EXP, and you’ll fin?d a whole bunch of people leveling up at the GC each day after the reset.

Look, I know that the thought of r??unning Praetorium or Castrum for the thousandth time isn’t the most thrilling of ideas, but there’s a reason that queues do (eventually, if you’re playing DPS) pop: roulettes offer a huge amount of EXP for relatively little effort, and you should definitely get down to busin?ess after the daily reset each day.
The best roulettes for leveling purposes are Leveling, Main Scenario, and PvP. While other roulettes do offer EXP, of course, you can probably give them a miss if you want to get those levels up quickly. ??Bonus points if?? you’re the “Adventurer in Need,?which not only increases the EXP you’ll gain but also offers a nice amount of Gil as a passive bonus.
While Khloe might seem like she’s stingy with her sticker placement, the rewards on offer for Wondrous Tales take a backseat to the amount of EXP on offer for completing her requested nine duties, which is ??guaranteed ??to give you at least half a level regardless of what your starting level was.
If you’ve been running you??r daily roulettes, you’ve likely amassed the full nine retries as well, meaning you can simply pick the easiest duty on the list (usually a low-level extreme trial or Alexander raid), keep using your retries and knock out half a level in under half an hour.
Forget about that unbelievably cheesy header (I’m not sorry) and focus on the fact that FATEs are an amazing way to crank out EXP in a relatively short period of time. At a minimum, Dawntrail FATEs offer up to around 500,000 EXP per?? FATE without adding on bonuses, the EXP boosts you have applied, or whether you’ve recently felled a Forlor??n Maiden or not.
Plus, as you grind out those FATEs in Shadowbringers, Endwalker, and Dawntrail zones, you’ll be earning Bicolor Gemstones that can be traded for some pre??tty epic rewards, so you’re getting something out of it either way.
If you don’t feel like waiting for long periods as a DPS player queues for dungeons, consider leveling and using your Trust or Duty Suppo??rt to get you through content. These features allow you to run through dungeons with a party of NPCs who make up the rest of the party, meaning there’s never a need to queue, and you still get the full EXP that you would for queueing for the same dungeon the old-fashioned way.
However, I’ll take all of that over 30 minutes or more queues to run a singl?e dungeon on a DPS job. Plus, this can be done solo, so you can just zone out and rest assured that you’re not endangering or annoying other players if you get something wrong. It’s also an excellent way to get to grips with mechanics that you aren’t entirely sure about without feeling embarrassed at your own mishandling of them.
And, as an added bonus, all of the loot is yours, so if you want to get your hands on a particular glamor set of mi?nions, then ??this is a great way to do that.
Formerly known as Tribal Quests and even more formerly kn?own as Beast Tribe Quests, Allied Society Quests can offer up a large amount of EXP for a very small amount of work. There are multiple Allied Societies for each? expansion, with higher-level Societies offering up more EXP for quests completed.
Each Allied Society has rewards on offer for increasing your reputation with them, i??ncluding emotes, mounts, minions, titles, and even some glamor items that aren’t to be sniffed at.
After completing the level 15 ??quest “Rising to the Challenge?(head to Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks and talk to I’tolwann (X:11.4, Y:11.0) if you haven’t done this yet!), you’ll gain access to the Challe?nge Log.
This log is split into different categories, including Battle, Crafting & Gathering, and Levequests. While some challenges reward other currencies upon completion, such as Wolf Marks or MGP,? battle challenges will reward you with a huge boost of EXP (sometimes over a million) for completing certain tasks like running a fixed number of dungeons, giving a fixed number of commendations, or even running FATEs.
The Challenge Log refreshes at the same time as the general weekly reset, 2 a.m. on a Tuesday, so make sure you complete them be?fore this happens to g?et the most EXP for your efforts.
They might not offer up the biggest amount of EXP, but side quests are just sitting there waiting to be done and give added backgro??und lore that you’d otherwise miss out on. I suggest this as a last resort, but if you’re at a loose end and waiting for a dungeon to pop, clearing out an area of side quests can be a good way to get some extra EXP when all else fails.
While there? aren’t as many options for leveling, crafting and gathering jobs in FFXIV, there are still a few things you can do to prevent you having to quick-synth hundreds of items.
Don’t be scared away?? from using manuals by the “effect is halved after level ???in the description. Yes, you won’t get quite the 150% boost to EXP, but you shouldn’t turn your nose up at a 75% increase in crafting or gatheri?ng EXP.
I say this from personal experience: yes, doing this is awkward. You’ll need to keep an eye out for the notification telling you that you’r?e no longer getting an EXP boost, stop crafting or gathering, and then use another manual before continuing to do whatever you were doing. However, seeing those levels go up so quickly is definitely worth it.
These can be purchased from any Scrip Exchange vendor for 30 Purple Scrips each. Make sure you get the Revised version, as these ?will last you the longest. Engineering Manuals apply to crafting classes, while Survival ??Manuals apply to gathering classes, so make sure you get the right one as well.
Leves are a valuable source of large amounts of EXP, and there are Leves available at all levels. Crafting Leves require you to craft certain items (or purchase them on the Marketboard ready-made if you’re rolling in Gil and feeling lazy), then hand them?? in to get the EXP. Handing in HQ items will
Gathering? Leves are harder to cheat (except Fishing, which can also be completed using items purchased on the Marketboard), but they’re still not difficult. You’ll need to go to a certain location, gather up a certain number of items, and then talk to the Leve person wherever you picked up the quest. Bonuses are applied for overachieving during the Leve quest, so the better you do, the quicker you’ll level up.
Custom Deliveries are available in each expansion, with higher-level Custom Deliveries NPCs ??offering higher amounts of EXP for hand-ins. These will require you to craft high-level items, but if you’re over-leveled by ten levels, you can use the “Trained Eye?ability to instantly score 100% collectability, maximizing the amount of EXP you get for handing items in.
?GC hand-ins are, by far, the easiest way to level up crafters and gatherers. Each day at 3 p.m. EST / 12 p.m. PST, your respective GC will have a new selection of items that they ?want to hand in. As with Leves, handing in HQ versions of these items will give you double the EXP, and youll find a whole bunch of people leveling up at the GC each day after the reset.

]]>Back when Dawntrail was released in June 2024, a new feature was added to mounts in Final Fantasy XIV that made them tilt wh?ile turning. Although th?is was a nice update, many players found that the motion made them queasy, and were stuck with no way to turn it off.
With the 7.1 Crossroads patch, this tilt has been extended to player character??s while moving without a mount. This would be horrible news for anyone who is susceptible to motion sickness while gaming if it wasn’t for the fact that 7.1 also introduces a way to turn off the tilting feature altogether.
Previou?sly, we gave some short-term fixes for the motion sickness issue, such as not foc??using on your mount while flying, or trying to avoid turning too often. Now, however, I can tell you how to remove the tilt completely.
If you’ve grown used to the motion while turning, then you may not need to fiddle with this setting at all. To combat the motion sickness issue, FFXIV developers have also reduced the speed at which certain mounts tilt when turning, so that might be enough? to rectify the problem.
However, if you??’re still having an issue, you ??can follow the steps below to return to the previous perpetually upright movement style.
Adjusting your tilt settings in your game of Final Fantasy XIV is done in much the same way as adjusting other settings that make your game unique to you ?through the Character Con??figuration menu.
To get there, either open up the main menu and select “Character Configuration? or select the “System?button in the bottom right corner of the screen (unless you’ve shuffled around your HUD, in which case only you will know where this button is) and select? “Character Configuration?from there.
Either wa??y, once this is open, you’ll need to locate the tilt settings by following the following directions:
In this section, you’ll find the option to enable or disabl??e the “Effects while in motion?option. You can tweak this to suit your own tastes, by disabling all of the effects or just some of them. You can also choose to show only your own, rather than those of other people as well.

]]>For fans of Final Fantasy XIV, there’s good news from today’s Live Letter 84 ?the ??7.1 Crossroads patch will be released on November 12, and it brings a whole new range of content t?o dive into, as well as some much-needed updates.
As always, additional translations from today’s Live Letter are provided by Miuna over on the FFXIV Discord server.
A??s the Live Letter did, let??’s kick this off with the latest trailer for patch 7.1:
Obviously one of the most awaited additions with Patch 7.1 is the continuation of the Dawntrail MSQ, which will continue until patch 7.3 according to Yoshida. The ongoing story will see us learn more about Sphene and Zoraal Ja, his son, and possibly the i??dentity of his biological mother.
There will also be a new dungeon added as part of the MSQ ?Yuweyawata Field Station. Although not much was said about the dungeon itself, Yo??shida said that it would be less challenging than the current Expert dungeons. However, they’ve done “something different?with the last boss which may come as a surprise. Exactly what they've done remains to be seen, but this definitely sounds ominous, to sa??y the least.
Along with the additional MSQ q?uests, we’ll a?lso have a lot of new content to dive into. Here’s everything that’s coming in 7.1, and what we know about it thanks to today’s Live Letter:
We were given some in-game glimpses of Echoes of Vana'diel: Jeuno - The First Walk during the Live Letter, including some sneak peeks of the first boss, Prishe of the Distant Chains. Armed with huge fists and some interest?ing new mechanics, she’ll definitely be a challenge to take down, at least to begin with.
We were also told that while the area is an Alliance Raid Dungeon, it will also serve as an event map, so players will be able to explore and take in everything. This means that we’ll also be able to use the area for screenshots, wh??ich is definitely much appreciated because it looks stunning.
The gear drops from the dungeon are pleasingly black, although they can also be dyed quite nicely. Yoshida said that they worked closely with the FFXI team to decide which job got which gear.
As someone who never played Final Fantasy XI, it was reassuring to hear Yoshida say that while they were remaining true to the source, they also went out of their way to not leave players behind who aren’t so familiar with it. Another small detail that pays homage to FFXI is the fact that all enemy names will be displayed in English, even for Japanese players or others who use a non-English ?alphabet.
We were shown a very in-depth demonstration of how the new Hall of the Novice: Training will work, and it comes with detailed descriptions of mechanics and the opportunity to take part in instanced battles to put your kno?wledge to the test. This is incredibly useful for new players, and some old ones who might be a bit rusty.
PvP will be undergoing something of an overhaul, with each job (except Pictomancer and Viper) losing actions and gaining new ones. Effects have also been updated so that d??amage will be dealt when the effect goes off, rather than when the attack is execu??ted.
Crystalline Conflict maps are also undergoing an update, with both Cloud? Nine and Red Sands getting more clutter and objects. Yoshi did mention that this makes the paths more narrow, so obstacles and attacks may not be so ??easily avoided in the future.
PvP?? Series 7 will also begin with the implementation of patch 7.1 as well, bringing new rew?ards on offer.
For patch 7.1 itself, there are also a couple of other th??ings that will be added:
Although the following things won’t be added as part of the main 7.1 patch, they will be added in smaller patches before 7.2. This does mean a little bit of a longer wait, but?? it also means we can spread out the experience and focus on one thing at a time. It's easy to get overwhelmed by content sometimes, so this is a good way to prevent that from happening.
The Ultimate Raid for Dawntrail, featuring ?both Ryne and Gaia all over again, will be added in patch 7.11. Yoshida did mention that players might enjoy the Ultimate more if they give themselves a refresher of the Eden storyline, so if you’ve not played those raids through in a while, now might be a good time.
The Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) will be the first savage level difficulty 24-player content ever introduced to FFXIV, and it will be arriving o??ne week after the implementation of patch 7.15. We were given some in-ga??me footage featuring Yoshida taking on the boss solo. Although he didnt get far, and died pretty quickly to one of the newly revealed mechanics, it’s clear to see that the fight will definitely be a fun one.
Serving as something of a prologue to a brand new story arc for Hildibrand and co., the first Hildibrand quests for Dawntrail will be coming as part of patch 7.15. Th??ere's no telling what Hildibrand will be getting up to this time around, but commenters on the livestream commented that he looks too "handsome" and that it doesn't suit him. Not sure if I agree, but to each thei?r own.
The following c??ontent will also be coming as part of future patches:
While these are perhaps not the most exciting of updates, there will also be various features either added or tw?eaked:
The winners from a previous Weapon Design Contest were revealed, although details of where we'll be able to get these from were not included. These weapons are all adorable in different unique ways, there's a staggering va??riety of kitchen utensils on offer, and I'm suddenly feeling the urge to turn my main Dark Knight into a pretty pink princess:

]]>In what will be very welcome news for players of Final Fantasy XIV, there is finally a release date for 7.1 Crossroads, and we don’t have long to wait - it?’s coming on November 12.
The announcement came as part of today’s Live Letter 84, during which we also had many in-game sneak peeks of new content that will be coming with the patch. With Dawntrail having released on July 2, it’s been a long four month wa?it for the ne??w content that has been expected and teased ever since.
When patch 7.1 drops on November 12, there will be a selection of new content to take part in. Of course, the new MSQ and FFXI-themed Alliance Raid Echoes of Vana’die?l are ??definitely the things getting players most excited, but the following will also be added to keep us entertained until the next patch:
Sadly, we were not given news of Shade’s Triangle or Cosmic Exploration, despite players in the East having been given updated screenshots and information regarding the two new bits of content at events such?? as Fan Festivals in Korea and China. It seems we’ll ??have to wait a bit longer before we finally get some details here in the West.
We were, on the other hand, given details about a bunch of new content that players can dive into come November 12, as well as a new trailer that gives some hints about the direction that th??e story of Dawntrail is heading in:
According to Yoshida, while the story of Endwalker was essentially finished in 6.0, they’re returning to their old method of keeping a story going for longer than a single patch, and Dawntrail’s sto?ry will continue until patch 7.3. After that, we’ll start on a new story, ?although the same characters will likely be involved and embarking on a new adventure.

]]>With the Tokyo Game Show 2024 coming to an end, Naoki Yoshida and Toshio Murouchi have sat down and provided viewers around the world with the first sneak peak of what’s to come in Final Fantasy XIV's patch 7.1.
We now have a name for t??he patch, Crossroads, and as usual there are more MSQ quests and a new dungeon, Yuweyawata Field Station, to be completed. With its release planned for “mid-November? Crossroads is jam-packed with new content and features, so without further ado, let’s dive into today’s reveals.
Note: The stream was in Japanese only, and information here comes from presentation slides (which were thankfully translated) and live translations provided by Miuna in the FFXIV Official Discord server.
Revealing that he has undertaken the first p??lay test with 24 play?ers, Yoshida proudly showed off some screenshots of the upcoming Echoes of Vana’diel Alliance Raid quest line:
Part one of the quest line will be called ‘Jeuno: The First Walk? and the locations will be familiar to anyone who has played Final Fantasy XI. According to Yoshida, the same artists and designers who worked on these locations in FFXI have also worked on them in FFXIV, so they’re true to the source material.
It was also revealed that, to remain in-keeping with the fact that boss names in FFXI were not translated into Japanese, they also won’t be translated in FFXIV.
The ??????????????????????????first ever savage tier 24-man raid is to be added in patch 7.1, aptly named “Chaotic Alliance Raids? although they may not be what you’re expecting.
Rather than goi??ng through an entire Alliance Raid with beefed up trash mobs, Chaotic Alliance Raids will instead be 24-man encounters with the final boss of the raid. The first of these will be The Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic), which will see players face off against a now very familiar enemy who has a whole new range of mechanics to throw at us.
That explains why she’s on th??e official Crossroads pa??tch art.
A surprising, although not unwel?come reveal from today’s Live Letter was the fact that the Hall of the Novice is getting add?itional lessons for people to complete once they hit level 49.
These lessons will be about specific mechanics, including and not l??imited to:
It was noted that these lessons aren’t compulsor??y, but were added after issues were raised, particularly from “overseas pl?ayers? about those graduating from Sprout status being unaware of how some mechanics are supposed to play out.
The first of Dawntrail?/em>s Allied Society quest lines will take us to Urqopacha, and put us back in contact with the Pelupelu who reside there. Few details were given about what the quest line would entail, but it was revealed that this would be?? an Allied Society for Battle jobs.
We were also introduced to our first Custom Deliveries NPC for Dawntrail, Nitowikwe, who looks to be based in Shaaloani. According to the screenshots, we’re likely to be working alon??gside the reflections of the train crew who helped us force our way into Heritage Found.
The first of Dawntrail’s Unreal Trials has been ??revealed, and it wil??l see players face off against Byakko once again in The Jade Stoa (Unreal). Little was revealed about the mechanics that players can expect, but I’m looking forward to taking another freefall down the tunnel of doom.
Yoshida also noted that now that we’ve seen the first of the Unreal Trials for Dawntrail, we can gather which direction they’re going to go in for the rest of the expansion. It’s likely that we’ll be taking on a few more Auspices before the expansion reaches its c?onclusion.
The only Dawntrail Trial to not have an Extreme ve??rsion, The Interphos, will now get its more difficult counterpart in the shape of The Minstrel’s Ballad: Sph??ene’s Burden.
We were also shown some ne?w glimpses of the next Ultimate Raid, Futures Rewritten (Ultimate), including more new screenshots of the foes we’re set to face, including what appears ?to be Gaia in a much more powerful form. Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) is not set to be released when the main 7.1 patch is implemented, but is expected to come one or two weeks later.
Love him or hate him, at this point no expansion would be complete without him (except Shadowbringers, wh??ich seems to have done just fine without him). Either way, the gentlemanly detective is back?? for the Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures.
From the screenshots shown, it’s clear to see that? Hildibrand and co. will be heading to Solu?tion 9. How and why remains to be seen, but there are sure to be fireworks, and bombs.
There were so many new additions and updates mentioned in the one hour long Live Letter, and it’s impossible to gather them all together in order to pass them on. Rather than try, ??here’s ?everything else that was mentioned, as well as any relevant screenshots:

Revealing that he has undertaken the first play test with 24 players, Yoshida proudly showed off some screenshots of the upcoming Echoes of Vana’die??l Alliance Raid quest line:
Part one of the quest line will be called ‘Jeuno: The First Walk? and the locations will be familiar to anyone who has played Final Fantasy XI. According to Yoshida, the same artists and designers who worked on these locations in FFXI have also worked on them in FFXIV, so they’re true to the source material.
It was also revealed that, to remain in-keeping with the fact that boss names in FFXI were not translated into Japanese, they also won’t be translated in FFXIV.
The first ever savage tier 24-man raid is to be added in patch 7.1, aptly named “Chaotic ??Alliance Raids? although they may not be what you’re expecting.
Rather than going through an entire Alliance Raid with beefed up trash mobs, Chaotic Alliance Raids will instead be 24-man encounters with the final boss of the raid. The first of these will be The Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic), which will see players face off against a now very familiar enemy who has a whole new range of?? mechanics to throw at us.
That expla?ins why she’s on the official Crossroads patc?h art.
A surprising, although not unwelcome reveal from today’s Live Letter was the fact that the Hall of the Novice is getting additional lessons for people to complete once they hit? level 49.
These lessons will be about specific mecha?nics, including and not li??mited to:
It was noted that these lessons aren’t compulsory, bu?t were added after ??issues were raised, particularly from “overseas players? about those graduating from Sprout status being unaware of how some mechanics are supposed to play out.
The first of Dawntrail?/em>s Allied Society quest ??lines will t??ake us to Urqopacha, and put us back in contact with the Pelupelu who reside there. Few details were given about what the quest line would entail, but it was revealed that this would be an Allied Society for Battle jobs.
We were also introduced to our first Custom Deliveries NPC for Dawntrail, Nitowikwe, who looks to be based in Shaaloani. Accord??ing to the screenshots, we’re likely to be working alongside the reflections of the train crew who helped us force our way into Heritage Found.
The first of Dawntrail’s Unreal Trials has been revealed, an?d it will see players face off against Byakko once again in The Jade Stoa (Unreal). Little was rev?ealed about the mechanics that players can expect, but I’m looking forward to taking another freefall down the tunnel of doom.
Yoshida also noted that now that we’ve seen the first of the Unreal Trials for Dawntrail, w?e can gather which direction they’re going to go i??n for the rest of the expansion. It’s likely that we’ll be taking on a few more Auspices before the expansion reaches its conclusion.
The only Dawntrail Trial to not have an Extreme version, The Interphos, will now get its more difficult counterpart in the shape? of The ??Minstrel’s Ballad: Sphene’s Burden.
We were also shown some new glim??pses of the next Ultimate Raid, Futures Rewritten (Ultimate), including more new screenshots of the foes we’re set to face, including what appears to be Gaia in a much more powerful form. Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) is not set to be released when the main 7.1 patch is implemented, but is expected to come one or two weeks later.
Love him or hate him, at this point no expansion would be complete without him (except Shadowbringers, which seems ?to have done just f??ine without him). Either way, the gentlemanly detective is back for the Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures.
From the screenshots shown, it’s clear to see that Hildibrand and?? co. will be heading to Solution 9. How and why remains to be?? seen, but there are sure to be fireworks, and bombs.
There were so many new additions and updates mentioned in the one hour long Live Letter, and it’s impossible to gather them all together in order to pass them o?n. Rather than try, here’s everyt?hing else that was mentioned, as well as any relevant screenshots:

Now, for those of us who weren’t able to make it to Seattle in time for PAX West, the hoodie is up for pre-order on the Square Enix Store, costing $74.99 USD. Available in two colors, the hoodie comes complete with an image of the hidden map from the Tour Turali website:
Back when the site first launched ahead of Dawntrail, players were left hunting for all of the map pieces and some on Reddit took things to the next level, working together to piece it together in spectacular fashion. On a personal level, this image is a special memory for me because my Fiancé spent hours trying to find all of the pieces, a?s t??hough the website was a game in and of itself.
The hoodie comes in two colors, maroon and light blue. Both colors have a small ‘Tural: Board of Turalism?motif on the chest and the FFXIV meteor logo at the top of the left sleeve.
Although the hoodies are availa??ble for pre-order now, shipping wont begin until some point in November, so?? you may be waiting a little while to finally show your support for Tural and the two new Dawnservants Wuk Lamat and Koana.

]]>Everything coming to Final Fantasy XIV typically makes its debut in FFXIV's Letter from the Producer LIVE streams, providing first looks at upcoming seasonal events, collaborations, or even expansion details. A Live Letter broadcast always precedes new patch launches, revealing d??ates and trailers, and they usually run for quite some time.
If you keep an eye on Final Fantasy XIV's Lodestone feed, you can get the heads up for new streams scheduled. However, we've got the details below on when FFXIV will host its next Live Letter, r??esources for the last ones, and what you can expect.
The next FFXIV Letter from the Producer LIVE airs during Tokyo Game Show 2024 on Saturday, September 28 at 10:50 p.m. PDT as part of the Square Enix Lineup.
FFXIV Letter from the Producer LIVE Part LXXXIII (83) hit our last estimated within September, and debuts as the first event of its kind since the MMO launched its Dawntrail expansion. However, don't assume this date means radio silence from Yoshida and his team until then. Expect Lodestone updates and communication through official social channels detailing hotfixes, patches, and any FFXIV downtime.
FFXIV Live Let?ter 83 can be viewed on the following channels:
This upcoming Live Letter will only be available in Japanese, but Square Enix should have presentation slides available in English. Regardless of your familiarity, we still know plenty of what to expect from the upcoming livestream as fans can look forward to details around Shade's Triangle, Cosmic Exploration, the Future's Rewritten Ultimate Raids, MSQ updates, ??and more.
For those keeping track, this is Letter from the Producer LIVE Part LXXXII (82). During the last broadcast on May 16, director and producer Naoki Yoshida delivered a nearly 5-hour-long presentation on upcoming changes and additions launching with Dawntrail. This included details on reworks and updates to all of the MMO's older Jobs, plus peeks at the two new ones, Viper? and Pictomanc??er.
Yoshida also noted the media tour was quickly approaching at the end of May, and that we'd see more from Dawntrail as those articles and impressions go live ?something to hold us over on the road to FFXIV Version 7.0. As for what you can expect at the next Live Letter, we'll likely see a few things like ??the launch trailer, a closer look at new zones, and more progress on the graphics update.
While the streams are created in Japanese, for FFXIV's Letter from the Producer LIVE LXXXI stream, Square Enix has said that it will feature a live Ja??panese to English?? interpreter.
This is common with the Live Letter streams but not guaranteed. For when they don't, or just if you missed the stream, Square Enix releases a digest of the?????????????????????????? Live Letter on the official forums. These summarize all the information in English.
There's no shortage of talented fan initiatives, either, as the FFXIV subreddit maintains a Discord channel of live interpretations in an unofficial capacity. After the stream, fan translators typically round up or clarify those points, too, giving eager players a? resource that's typically faster than waiting? for the official Lodestone post.

]]>Prior to the release of Dawntrail, Final Fantasy XIV implemented a new European probationary Data Center called Shadow. Apparently, this Data Center has served its purpose and i?s now set to be shut down on August 27.
The Data Center was introduced in order to ease congestion during the early access period and official launch of Dawntrail and it definitely seems to have done just that. Dawntrail had an incredibly smooth launch with little existence of long queue times, something which was unexpected though very welcome for anyone who was around for the release of Endwalker.
If you’ve been using the Shadow Data Center to play since Dawntrail released, Square Enix are urgin??g yo??u to return back to your home world before August 27, and travel to the Data Center will no longer be possible after August 16.
Don’t worry if you don’t manage to login and return to your home world prior to the removal of Shadow, your character won’t be lost to the Aether. All characters still on any of the following worlds will automatically be returned to their home world once the ??Data Center is shut down:
There will be a short maintenance period on August 27 in order to remove the Shadow Data Center, so the game will be inaccessible for all players during this time. More information about this maintenance will be released closer to the time via the Lodestone.

]]>If you’ve found yourself loving the musical arrangements in Dawntrail, then I’ve got good news for you. The Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail Official Soundtrack launch??es on October 30, and you get more than just the album with your purchase.
The Dawntrail OST releases as a 66-track blu-ray media disk, including all of the main themes as well as those glorious battle tunes for the Arcadion: Light-heavyweight raids. Each track will be accompanied ??by visuals, so I’m assuming that Honey B. Lovely will be making an appearance there somewhere.
If you purchase the Dawntrail OST, you’ll not only get the album, but you??’ll get a code to claim your own in-game Wind-u?p Zero minion, so you can bring her with you on your adventures.
If you can’t wait to get the full album, certain tracks will be available from certain digital retailers, including Apple Music, ahead of the full release in October. The three EPs will be as follows, including the tra??cks listed below. I’ve noted where ?each track appears in-game to the best of my knowledge:

]]>Once the MSQ is done and dusted in Final Fantasy XIV, and all of your Jobs are at maximum level, it's time to experience the MMO's true endgame ?glamour. The importance of piecing together?? new glam and expressing your personality through in-game appearances is a sentiment a large portion of the community holds dear, myself included. However, as beloved as that system is, Job-locked gear can sometimes throw a spanner in the works.
Here’s the thing: I’m not throwing shade at the FFXIV development team; I get it's impossible to accommodate all of our asks. They do a fantastic job of balancing fan expectations with what is feasibly possible. Like most folks, I've got a long list of wants when it comes to new outfits, hairstyles, weapons, etc. etc. But the Glamour system itself ?like how the thing actually works ?needs?? some help. Of course I always want more options, but managing what I have now is already a mess.
There are 22 battle Jobs (including the limited Job Blue Mage), three gathering classes, and eight crafting classes in FFXIV. That’s a total of 33 Jobs which, in an ideal world, would all be able to have their own specific glamours to differentiate them every step of the way. It's a design philosophy mostly upheld by Square Enix, giving players unique items of some fashion to every Job, such as Artifact Gear for battle classes.
There is, however, o??ne glaring?? problem here ?we only have 20 Glamour Plates.
Look, 20 may sound like a lot, but it’s not even enough for each battle Job to have its own Plate, let alone trying to throw crafters and gatherers into the mix. This is why, for the most part, players will have a shared glamour for all Jobs of the same role - ??one for healers, one for? tanks, one for all crafters, and so on.
Back in 2019, prior to the release of Shadowbringers, producer and director Naoki Yoshida sat down with Kotaku and was ??asked if Job-locking gear would ever become a thing of the past. Ultimately, Yoshida doesn't seem too fond of sharing mismatched weapons between Jobs, and it's a point he's mostly stood by in interviews and streams since. While I completely understand the point he was trying to make in his reply, I have to admit that the rationale grows flimsy when extended to clothing options.
?..to answer about removing the job restrictions, unfortunately, we don’t intend to remove them. The reason is simple. For players who have played other Final Fantasy titles, they’ll easily recognize these gear designs as a way to identify a particular job...You wouldn’t want to see someone carrying an axe casting black magic. You’d wonder: What the hell kind of game is this??/p>
Naoki Yoshida in 2019 interview with Kotaku
I don’t think the playerbase wants weapons to be glamourable outside of their Job or Class, either. I know I can tank a mob of Goblins in a bikini, but that's beside the point. Nobody wants to see a Dark Knight wielding a Sage’s Nouliths, or a Botanist bonking a tree with a Gunblade. That's not the issue. The real pain comes when singular pieces locked to a Job or Class, instead of opting to at least go by Role. Take, for i??nstance, the level 100 Blac??ksmith chest piece.
This is simply a chest wrap, which admittedly does suit the Blacksmith aesthetic, but it could also other crafters, like maybe your Armorer. Factor this in with a limit of 20 Glamour Plates, and you've got some tough choices to make about your FFXIV closet. Players just ca??n’t afford to give up a precious Glamour Plate for a singular crafting class, a??nd it's a crime we've got to part with some of the game's incredible looks based on Job exclusivity.
I understand what Yoshida was getting at when he spoke about preserving the aesthetic of each Job, but that idea somewhat goes out of the window when we have level 1 glamour sets of all styles that can be applied to any role. There are Paladins in swimsuits, Astrologians running around in a full chipmunk costume, and Gatherers in the fully armored Metian set. Players will always have their own aesthetic they strive for??, and these level 1 glamour pieces allow for that to an extent.
I’m not saying that all gear sets should be removed from this Job-locked nightmare. I’ll concede that Artifact Gear should remain as it is, with each Job getting their own outfit when a certain level is reached. It gives players something of a goal when leveling similar Jobs, especially when said armor sets are as nice as those introduced in Dawntrail.
Trying to pres??erve a Job's general design and in-universe purpose is all fine and dandy. I know that Summoners have always had their ‘dong?(the horn that sits proudly on their forehead), while Black Mages have always gone for the more goth side of fashion. White Mages have, invariably, received white and red gowns, while Dragoons always look like walking thorn bushes.
But what of those who already don't follow that half-implemented dress code or simply don't want to? You could argue that they ha??ve plenty of glamour items available to them already, and you would be correct, but that doesn’t solve the issue of storage space and Glamour Plates available. This is especially true early into a new expansion when all Jobs require leveling, and juggling glamour??s with a constantly overflowing Armoury Chest becomes little more than a headache.

With new sneak peeks into Cosmic Exploration, new large-scale field conte?nt, and the first glimpse of the new Ultimate Raid’s boss, there’s lots to get excited about.
Thes??e images were shared during what appears to be a keynote speech with Naoki Yoshida streamed on Bilibili, a China based video sharing site. Further news about this content is likely to come for us in the West during GamesCom (August 21 - August?? 25) or PAX West (August 30 - September 2), but that doesn’t stop us from looking at these images.
First ??up, some never-before-seen images from Cosmic Exploration, the new crafting and gathering content coming at some point in 7.X. For anyone who has ever spent time within The Diadem in The Firmament, these will be very familiar. I’m just hoping that we’ll get to see the return of the Auger.
Next, new images were shared of Shades?Triangle, the upcoming large-scale field content for Dawntrail. According to the slides shown by Yoshida, the new content will be known as ‘Occult Crescent?in China. Again, this will be hugely familiar to anyone who has ever taken part in Eureka or The Bozjan Southern Front.
Last but certainly not least, we were given a sneak peek of the next Ultimate Raid, Histories Rewritten. This battle screenshot shows some familiar mechanics and also a ??familiar boss ?Fatebreaker.
As of now, that’s everything new that has been revealed during FanFest China. Of course, I’ve got my beady eye?? on all of the goings-on, so if anything new emerges, you’ll be the first to know.

As of now, that’s everything new that has been reveale??d during FanFest China. Of course, I’ve got my beady eye on all of the goings-on, so if anything new emerges, you’ll? be the first to know.

There are two new S Rank Elite Marks to be fought, one in Urqopacha and another in Kozama’uka. One of them, the one that spawns in Urqopacha, is a direct reintroduction to a familiar foe to anyone who played Final Fantasy XI.
Just because these S Ranks are in lower-level ??areas, that doesn’t mean they’re easier to defeat than those in higher-level areas. S Ranks are all incredibly difficult to take down and require a large number of people to take on, especially ??this early into an expansion.
The S Rank in Urqopacha is Kirlirger the Abhorrent. Back in Final Fantasy XI, Kirl?irger was a Notorious Monster who could be fought?? in order to reduce the Troll Mercenaries?military force by one.
This one proved troublesome to those looking to fight him, who went through a lot to try and figure out his spawn conditions. However, it all boils down to time and weather??. Kirlirger will s??pawn at midnight on a foggy night with a new moon.
The new S Rank introduced to Kozama’uka has a much more controllable spawn condition. Ihnuxokiy can be found in any of the locations above, and the spawn conditions will be familiar to anyone who has tried to spawn Narrow Rift, the Endwalker S Rank in Ultima Thule.
To spawn Ihnuxokiy, you’ll need to h?ave the Morpho minion, which is a possible drop from The Lost City of Amdapor (Hard). Once you’ve got it, summoning Morpho and flying low over Ihnuxokiy’s spawn points will possibly spawn the Kozama’uka S Rank.

Less confident players, or those who are diving in for the first time, the New Player Experience area will be available for all. Players here can take on Ifrit, Titan, or Garuda, and if they’re victorious, they’ll receive a free copy of the Final Fantasy XIV Starter Edition for PC.
If you’re not up for testing your skills, or simply want to enjoy the experience without the pressure to perform, you can sit down and relax next ??t??o a cardboard cutout of Urianger and get a photo of the memory.

]]>With patch 7.05, a lot of new content was added to Final Fantasy XIV. Amongst them was Dawntrail’s first Treasure Dungeon, Cenote Ja Ja Gural, and?? it comes?? with a lot of rewards that you’re definitely going to want.
Along with the Honeysuckler minion and the It Takes Two hairstyle, one of the most desirable items that can be obtaine?d through?? Cenote Ja Ja Gural is a new mount. The Qeziigural mount is a metallic bird-cross-cat creature that glitters in the sun. It’s glorious, but getting it isn’t straightforward.
Before you can get the Qeziigural mount in FFXIV, you’ll need to do some Treasure Hunts. Namely, you’re going to need to stock up on Br’aaxskin Maps, hope that you get a portal, and dive?? into Cenote Ja Ja ??Gural.
Inside, one of t?he possible drops is an item called Twilight Gemstones. These very pretty gems are obtained through t??he coffers inside the Treasure Dungeon, though it’s far from guaranteed that they will drop.
In total, you’re going to need three Twilight Gemstones b?efore you can get the Qeziigural. You may? get lucky and do well on the Gamblers Lure minigames, but otherwise you’re likely going to need to run Cenote Ja Ja Gural a fair few times before you get the Twilight Gemstones you need.
Once you’ve got three Twilight Gemstones, you can head directly to the Nexus Arcade in Solution Nine. Here, talk to Uah’shepya (X:8.6, Y:13.5) and select ‘Sublime Curiosities? Along with the option to purchase the Mehwapyarra Whistle and the Mica Suit, you’ll find th?e Qeziigural Horn available, as long as you have the Gemstones you need.
Both the Qeziigural mount itself and the Twilight Gemstones needed to get it are tradeable, and therefore you can purchase both on the ?Markbetboard. However, neither option is exactly wha??t you’d call cost effective.
The Qeziigural itself is currently selling for around 40 million Gil, while Twilight Gemstones are selling for more than 7 million Gil. Of course if you want to take this option (please tell me your money making secrets), then your best opt?ion is to purchase the Gemstones and then trade them in with Uah’shepya yourself.&??nbsp;

]]>When it comes to mounts in Final Fantasy XIV, we’re all a little spoiled for choice. And yet, with every expansion, we get more and they’re always glorious. One new mount added in patch 7.05 was the Monowheel S?1, and it’s probably one of my?? favorites yet.
However, it’s not easy to get. Before you can drive around on your Monowheel S1, you’ve got one hell of a battle si?mply to get it to drop. Things are going to get pretty savage.
The Monowheel S1 is a drop from The Arcadion: AAC Light-heavyweight M4 (Savage). This means that you’ve got a bit of work ahead of you if you want to be the proud owner of this unique mount.&n?bsp;
First, you’ll need to unlock and complete all of the normal Arcadion raids. This isn’t too much of a tall order, they’re fairly easy to complete on??ce yo?u’ve got the hang of the mechanics being thrown at you.
Then, you’ll need to unlock and complete all of the savage versions of these raids. That means diving in and taking on Black Cat, Honey B. Lovely, Brute Bomber, and Wicked Thunder with no holds barred. This is no mean feat, with even some of the best raiders in FFXIV taking over 10 hours to get through the four bosses during the World First Race.
On the plus side, ?the Monowheel S1 Identification Key seems to be a guaranteed drop after you’ve ??taken down Wicked Thunder, so you’ll only need to complete the fight a maximum of eight times (as long as you keep a consistent party) before you get the mount.
In short, no. As with all raid reward mounts and minions, the Monowheel S1 Identification Key cannot be sold? on the Marketboard or traded. This means that your only choice if you want it is to dive into savage raiding.

]]>Beady eyed viewers of Final Fantasy XIV’s Live Letter from the Producers 82 saw a little ??green lizard with a very long tongue, and it’s finally available to get in-game. The Ho??neysuckler minion is utterly adorable, but it’s not easy to get.
When I say ‘not easy? I don’t mean you’re going to have to battle through encounters with particularly difficult en?emies (although this ??is true). The difficulty when it comes to getting the Honeysuckler minion is that it relies solely on luck and, if you’re anything like me, you’re likely wondering what you did to upset the rolling gods.
The Honeysuckler minion is a possible drop from any coffer inside Cenote Ja Ja Gural, the Treasure Dungeon recently added in patch 7.05.
Luck is a huge part of any Treasure Dungeon, especially those with chambers such as Cenote Ja Ja Gural. Not only do you need to get lucky and have a portal spawn from your Br’aaxskin Maps coffer, you al?so need to get lucky and choose the right d??oors inside.
Then, as if that wasn’t enough luck to need, yo?u also need to get lucky and have the Honeysuckler itself make an ap??pearance. It could come at any time, although you’re more likely to find it the further you get into the Treasure Dungeon, so my only advice here is to keep your fingers crossed at all times.
Not literally, of course. That would make playing a little d?ifficult. Maybe? cross your toes instead.
If you’re unwilling to put your reliance on having good luck, and you’ve got a hefty sum of Gil to your name, you could always simply purchase the Honeysuckle??r on the Marketboard.
However, you really will need a hefty sum of Gil. As a brand new minion, and a rare one at that, ?the selling prices for Honeysuckler are currently sky high and this isn’t likely to change any time soon.
At the time of writing, there is one Honeysuckler for sale on my home world and it’s currently selling for 30 million Gil. Maybe it’s time to start running Cenote Ja Ja Gural??, regardless of whether you get the mini??on or not.

]]>Whether you’re looking to expand your repertoire as a crafter or a gatherer in Final Fantasy XIV, you’re going to need Purple Scrips. This currency is used to purchase Master R?e??cipe books for crafters, and Tomes of Folklore for gatherers.
Farming out these Scrips may seem like a tall order, especially if you consider the fact that these books cost over 1,000 Scrips each. Ho??wever, there are some hints and tips that I’ve picked up to make the grind a little easier.&nbs??p;
One basic tip before getting into this: I urge you to do your weekly Custom Deliveries, and also complete the Wachumeqimeqi Deliveries quests. Th?ese both provide a large number of Purple Scrip?s, and at relatively little effort.
Listen, I know it’s tempting to go out of your way to craft the highest level items you can i?n order to get the most scrips. However??, I would urge you to consider crafting a lower level collectable.
Why? Trained Eye, that’s why. Using this action instantly causes the collectability of any item to sho?ot straight to 100%, as long as the item you’re trying to craft is at least 10 levels below your current level.
While you may earn less Scrips per item, you can craft many more lower level items in a shorter period of time, meaning that you’ll earn m??ore Scrips with less effort and that isn’t ever something to pass up. Plus, not having to worry about collectability certainly makes crafting more enjoyable.
Gatherers?Sc??rips are always harder to earn than their crafting counterpart, and it may take you longer to stock up on a hoard of them, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do it if you’v?e got some time to spare and a lot of patience.
One way to get a lot of Purple Gatherers?Scrips is by setting out to different areas at different times to find colle??ctable resources at timed nodes as Botanist and Miner. The amount of Scrips you’ll earn will depend on the level of Collectability of any items you gather.
To make this easier, you can look up an item in the Gathering Log and right click on it to set an alarm, which will remind you when a? node becomes available.
Item | Location | Time (Eorzean time) | Scrips |
Rarefied Acacia Bark | Shaaloani (X:31.7, Y:20.4) |
6 a.m. / 6 p.m. | 16 - 38 |
Rarefied Sweet Kukuru Bean | Yak T’el (X:36.8, Y:34.8) |
2 a.m. / 2 p.m. | 15 - 36 |
Rarefied Mountain Flax | Urqopacha (X:5.7, Y:23.6) |
12 p.m. / 12 a.m. | 14 - 35 |
Item | Location | Time (Eorzean time) | Scrips |
Rarefied White Gold Ore | Heritage Found (X:34.8, Y:8.6) |
4 a.m. / 4 p.m. | 16 - 38 |
Rarefied Titanium Gold Ore | Shaaloani (X:9.2, Y:24.4) |
8 a.m. / 8 p.m. | 15 - 36 |
Rarefied Raw Dark Amber | Kozama’uka (X:7.2, Y:7.3) |
10 a.m. / 10 p.m | 14 - 35 |
However, if you’ve got a bit of time on your hands and don’t mind gathering less valuable items, there are some items which spawn in regular nodes and can be treated as any other gatherable resource. Just like?? logs or ore, these are always present in their nodes and you can farm them to your hearts content.
The downside to this is that they give less Purple Scrips per hand in (between 3 and 20, depending on the level of collectability you achieve) so you’ll need to gather a lot more to make up those numbers. On the plus side, both of these items are gathered in Kozama'uka??, so if you fancy a change you can always mix it up a bit and switch classes!
The items for Botanist and Miner are as follows:
Class | Item | Location |
Botanist | Rarefied Kozama’uka Chamomile | Kozama’uka (X:26.3, Y:25.3) |
Miner | Rarefied Raw Ihuykanite | Kozama’uka (X:37.8, Y:21.3) |

]]>Happy Patch Day ?Final Fantasy XIV just saw the first of many major updates as a part of its Dawntrail expans??ion, with Patch 7.05 introducing Tomestones of Heliometry, the Cenote Ja Ja Gural map dungeon, and plenty of Job chang??es.
While the standout addition in Patch 7.05 is definitely the first tier of The Arcadion (Savage), there’s something for everyone in the?? update.
Of course, this is the biggest draw of Patch 7.05?. These savage raids pit your strength against the same bosses encountered in the Normal dif??ficulty, but they're way harder in the second round.
As of Patch 7.01, you could already unlock the first difficulty level for The Arcadion, but if you want to try the beefier version, you'll need to take an extra step for The Arcadion (Savage).
Finally, Br’aaxskin Maps will actually have a chance to lead somewhere with the addition of Dawntrail’s first Treasure Dungeon, Cenote Ja ?Ja Gural.??
This Treasure Du?ngeon will work in the same way as the Excitatron 6,000, with a series of fight chambers and pairs of doors that may or may not unlock, depending on your luck.
Tomestones of Heliometry are the weekly capped Tomestones for Dawntrail, and they're obtainable by completing certain high level duties. ? These Heliome??try are exchangeable for the gear shown above.
Duty Roulette has also been updated, with Tomestones of Heliome??try be??ing rewarded in the following numbers:
Roulette | Heliometry rewarded |
---|---|
Duty Roulette: Expert | 40 |
Duty Roulette: Leveling | 20 |
Duty Roulette: Trials | 15 |
Duty Roulette: Main Scenario | 50 |

The post FFXIV Patch 7.05 adds Dawntrail Tr??easure Dungeon, Arcadion Savage, and Tome gear appeared first on Destructoid.
]]>Happy Patch Day ?Final Fantasy XIV just saw the first of many major updates as a part of its Dawntrail?? expansion, with Patch 7.05 introducing Tomestones of Heliometry, the Cenote Ja Ja Gural map dungeon, and plenty of Job changes?.
??While the standout addition in Patch 7.05 is definitely the first tier of The Arcadion (Savage), there’s something for everyone in the update.
Of course, this is the biggest draw of Patch 7.05. These savage raids pit your strength against the same b?o??sses encountered in the Normal difficulty, but they're way harder in the second round.
As of Patch 7.01, you could already unlock the first difficulty level for The Arcadion, but if you want to try the beefier version, you'll need to take an extra step for The Arcadion (Savage).
Finally, Br’aaxskin Maps will actually have a chance to lead somewhere with the addition of Dawntrail’s first Treasure Dungeon, Cenote Ja ??Ja Gural. ??;
This Treasure Dungeon will work in the same way as the Excitatron 6,000?, with a series of fight chambers and pairs of doors that may o??r may not unlock, depending on your luck.
Tomestones of Heliometry are the weekly capped Tomestones for Dawntrail, and they're obtainable by comp??leting certain high level duties. These Heliometry are exchangeable for the gear shown above.
Duty Roulette has also been ??updated, wit??h Tomestones of Heliometry being rewarded in the following numbers:
Roulette | Heliometry rewarded |
---|---|
Duty Roulette: Expert | 40 |
Duty Roulette: Leveling | 20 |
Duty Roulette: Trials | 15 |
Duty Roulette: Main Scenario | 50 |
Duty Roulette: Alliance Raids | 50 |
Duty Roulette: Normal Raids | 20 |
Duty Roulette: Mentor | 10 |

]]>If you’re looking to save yourself some Gil and make your own Archeo gear in Final Fantasy XIV, you’re going to need some hard-to-come-by resources. Of cour??se, you could buy them on the Marketboard, but this quickly grows expensive.
Ipe Lumber is a common ingre?dient in the new level 100, iLvl 710 crafted Archeo gear. You need tw?o materials to make Ipe Lumber:
Fortunately, both are easy to come by if you know how ?one is from Tomestones and the other is a special timed node available in Dawntrail.
Each expansion c??omes with its own Tomes of Folklore. These books work in a similar way to Master Recipes, allowing gatherers to find nodes which otherwise wouldn’t appear. These nodes invariably yield rare materials, such as is the case wi??th Ipe Logs.
To purchase Dawntrail’s Tomes of Folklore, speak? to any Scrip Exchange vendor and select the category ‘Gatherers???Scrips (Regional Folklore/Materials/Misc.)'. Then, underneath, select the subcategory of ‘Purple Scrip Exchange (Lv. 100 Folklore Items)'. Each Tome costs 1600 Purple Gatherers?Scrips.
To ??get Ipe Logs, yo?u’ll need to purchase the ‘Tome of Botanical Folklore - Yok Tural?
Now that you know how to get the Regional Folklore you need, you can finally move on to getting Ipe Logs. However, you’ll need to make sure that you’ve got a perception level of at least 4480, which is easily achieved by melding a pile of Gatherer’s Guile materia onto your gear. These can be pu????rchased through the Scrip Exchange or on the Marketboard.
Ipe Logs spawn in level 100 Legendary Mature Trees in the southeastern corner of Kozama’uka (shown above). These are time locked nodes, and you’ll need to head to Kozama’uka via the Earthens??hire Aetheryte between 12 a.m. and 2 a.m. or 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
These aren’t collectables, and you’ll get six chances to get as many Ipe Logs as ?you can per round, so make sure to use Blessed Harvest II in orde??r to maximize your Yield.
Thankfully, getting your hands on Xbr’aal Varnish is very easy, as long as you’ve bene running your Daily Roulettes and stocking up on Tomestones of Aesthetics.
To get Xbr’aal Varnish, head to Solution Nine and talk to Zircon in the Nexus Arcade (X:8.6, Y:13.6), selecting ‘Allagan Tomestones of Aesthetics (Other)? You’ll fin?d a selection of new ingredients here, including Xbr’aal Varnish, for 20 Tomestones of Aesthetics each.
Once you’ve gathered t?he two base ingredients, you’re also going to need to purchase at least one Master Recipe book for your Carpenter. Once you’ve done that, you can get to crafting.
To make one Ipe Lumber, y??ou’ll need the following? ingredients:
You’ll need your craftsmanship to? be a??t least 4,740 in order to craft Ipe Lumber, which again can be achieved by piling materia onto your gear. In this case, you’ll need Craftsman’s Competence materia.

]]>Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.05 introduced plenty of new items to the MMO, but before you can make everything, you'll need the new Master Recipe books. These books contain recipes for not only the new crafted iLvl ?710 gear, but also the level 1 glamour Scientist's set, and much more.
If you’re into crafting in FFXIV, then Dawntrail’s first Master Recipes are definitely worth grabbing. Whether you’re looking ?for glamour, high level gear, new housing items, or stat-boosti?ng meals, there really is something for everyone.
To get Master Recipes XI books, you’ll need to visit any of the Scrip Exchange vendors throughout Eorzea or b??eyond. You’ll be able to fi?nd one in each major city from every expansion, including the brand new Solution 9.
Once there, na??vigate to the ‘Crafters?Scrip (Master Recipes/Materials/Misc.?category, then select ‘Purple Scrip Exchange (Master Recipes II)? Here, you’ll find both the X and XI Master Recipe books.
Master Recipes XI books cost 1,200 Purple Crafters?Scrips each, or 9,600 Purple Crafters?Scrips for all of them. You will only be able to use the books within your invent??ory and actually learn the recipes once the respective crafting class reaches level 100.
If you have at least one crafting class at level 100, then getting the required number of Purple Crafters?Scrips is actually remarkably easy, thanks to the ‘Trained Ey??e?action.
Rather than diving straight? into a level 100 craft, which admittedly do give more Purple Scrips per hand-in, you might ??be better off opting for a level 90 recipe and using ‘Trained Eye?to instantly reach maximum collectability.
For instance, I did this on Weaver and chose to quickly craft a lo?t of Rarefied AR-Caean Velvet Work Caps. Using ‘Trained Eye? I managed to get 114 Purple Crafters?Scrips per hand-in and was quickly able to purchase all of the Master Recipes XI books.

The Arcadion (Savage) World First race is in full swing, and multiple teams have already defeated Black Cat and moved on to Honey B. T??he mechanics are brutal, the deaths are many, and Big Sippin?is somewhere in the middle of all this.
Big Sip??pin?is part of Team Variety Pack, taking on the role of Bard as you’d expect. Currently, the team is lagging behind and still trying to overcome Black Cat, but these races to world first are subject to change at any moment.
It’s heartwarming to see how far Big Sippin?has come since his journey began. If you’ve followed his story, the could-be legacy player has gone through the entire saga from A Realm Reborn in the last few months, so he’s done remarkably well to get this far??? in such a short time. If you want to watch Big Sippin?take on The Arcadion (Savage) fights, you can do so on Twitch via Wesk Alber’s channel. He’s also on Team Variety Pack, taking up the role of Melee and cur??rently playing as Dragoon.
Or, if you want a more overall view of how all participating teams are doing, including both Neverland and Team Variety Pack, you can tune in to the MogTalk stream, where they’re dissecting the mechanics as? the teams take on the?? brutal savage fights.

]]>The Arcadion was introduced to Final Fantasy XIV with patch 7.01, and now two weeks later we’re getting patch 7.05 and the introduction of Dawntrail’s first savage raids. These are sure ?to be brutal, considering the difficulty of the normal? raids, and will test even the most competent players skills.
Before you can unlock The Arcadion: AAC Light-Heavyweight (Savage), you’ll need to unlock The Arcadion’s normal raids. We have a more in-depth guide for this process, but in short you’ll need to:
Before you can unlock Dawntrail’s first savage raids, you’ll nee?d to complete the complete questline of the first four?? normal raids, up to and including the level 100 quest ‘The Neoteric Witch?
Once you’ve done that, head back to Solution Nine and find Gabbro (X:22.3 Y:17.1). Talking to him will unlock all four of the savage raids for you to complete. After this point, you'll be able to access the raids through the High End section of the Duty Finder. However, you?'ll need to complete each raid in order, with the next one unlocking after a successful completion of the previous.
Each fig?ht within the first tier of The Arcadion (savage) has individual details which should be taken into account, but one overarchin?g rule is that two players cannot enter as part of a party if they’re playing the same Job.
Otherwise, here are the details:
Raid | iLVL requirement | Time limit |
---|---|---|
AAC Light-heavyweight M1 | 700 or above | 90 minutes |
AAC Light-heavyweight M2 | 705 or above | 90 minutes |
AAC Light-heavyweight M3 | 710 or above | 90 minutes |
AAC Light-heavyweight M4 | 710 or above | 120 minutes |
After successfully completing one of the savage fights, gear coffers will appear. The number of treasure coffers which will appear ??depends on the n?umber of people who are replaying a duty prior to a weekly reset.
These coffers contain? items which, when used, will transform into gear suitable for the players current Job. In AAC Light-heavyweight M4 (Savage), there will also be individual weapons which drop and can be rolled fo?r.
As well as these coffers, players will automatically earn copies of AAC Illustrated: LHW edition. These are the tokens for these raids, and you can exchange them for gear pieces by talking to Hhihwi in Solution Nine (X:8.7 Y:13.4).

]]>If you’re wanting to dive into crafting any of Final Fantasy XIV’s Master Recipes, you’re going to need some form of Aethersand. For Dawntrail’s first Master Recipes (XI?), you’re going to need some Sungilt Aethersand.
Aside from purchasing it for a lot of Gil on the Marketboard or purchasing it with Orange Gatherers' Scrips, there’s only one way to get Sungilt?? Aethersand ?Aetherial Reduction. This is the process of gathering certain collectibles, right-clicking them within your inventory, and selecting '?Aetherial Reduction.'
In Dawntrail, there are five different nodes that red?uce into Sunglit Aethersand?. They're Collectable items for your Disciples of the Land, and spawn as Ephermeral nodes on the map. They also lack the usual 'Rarefied' descriptor in their name, and you're only guaranteed Sungilt Aethersand if you reach a collectability rating of 1000.
Electrocoal is currently the only Ephermeral (Collectable) that can be gathered by Miners for Sunglit sand. Your Miner will need to be at least level 95 in order to get any Electrocoal, which can be obtained from a timed node in Heritage Found at around (X:27.4, Y:12.2).
The Ephemeral Node you need will spawn between 8 p.m. and 12 a.m. Eorzean Time, so you’ll be able to gather from this node once per 1.5 hour??s of real time.
Like Miners, Botanists only currently have one Collectable which will grant Sunglit Aethersand when Aetherially Reduced. Also like it’s Miner counterpart, Goldbranch is obtained through a timed node, although this time you’ll find it in Shaaloani at around (X:16.1, Y:10.5).
This Ephemeral Node will bec??ome active between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m. Eorzean Time, so again, you’ll be able to come back to this Node and get more Goldbranch o??nce every 1.5 hours.

Unlike both Miner and Botanist, Fishers have three separate Collectables which can be ?reduced to possibly give Sunglit Aethersand, maps for which I’ve provided above, but let's go into a little more detail on each.
I?f you’re looking to get collectables via fishing, you need to remember ??to use Collect in order to activate Collector’s Glove.
Horned Frogs can be fished up from Xobr’it Tsoly in Yak T?’el. This tiny little fishing pond is on the eastern side of the map at around (X:34.9, Y:16.2). To catch Horned Frogs, you’ll first n?eed to catch a Cloud-eye Carp using Golden Stonefly Nymph as your bait. Then, you’ll need to use the Mooch ability and use the Cloud-eye Carp as your bait to catch the Horned Frog.
Sh??ovelnose Catfish can be found in Marsh Ligaka, which is the large lake in the south of Kozama’uka (X?:24.4, Y:31.5). You’ll need to use one of the following baits in order to lure a Shovelnose Catfish onto your line:
Sunlit Prism can be found in the western half of Iq Rrax Tsoly. This is just off the north eastern shoreline of Yak T’el, and you’ll need ??to make sure you stick to the western half of this body of water to get a Sunlit Prism.
Rather than casting your rod, you’re going to have to dive right into the w??ater and get your Spearfishing Gig out. Sunlit Prism come in the shape of small shado??ws, with a medium movement speed.

]]>Some materials in Final Fantasy XIV may seem less important than others at first glance. Poison Frog Secretions are one such material, as they’re not used for crafting gear, weapons, or food. But if you want to craft some Dawntrail hous??ing items, you’ll need ??Poison Frog Secretions.
Admittedly, Poison Frog Secretions are only a base ingredient for three of Dawntrail’s housing items - but that’s at the time of writing, and more craftable housing items are sure to be added across the 7.x timeline. Plus, the housing items that currently need these resour??ces are argu??ably the most pretty of all that were added.
It will come as absolutely no surprise to anyone that Poison Frog Secretions come from Poison Frogs. This Wavekin enemy can be found in a small section of Kozama’uka, around (X:30.7, Y:17.2).
You’ll find a veritable plague of these frogs in the area, and they’re all level 91. They’re easy to take down as soon as you s?tep foot in the area as part of the MSQ, regardless of whether you go there first or you head to Urqopacha f??irst.
The drop rate for Poison Frog Secretions is relatively low, from my own experience. They occasionally drop between one and three Secretions per kill, but you can take down three or fou?r frogs without getting a single drop. It’s a bit hit and miss, but thankfully there’s a better way to get Poison Frog Secre??tions.
Even if you’ve only ever completed one FATE in Kozama’uka, you’ll have unlocked the the local Gemstone Trader. Kunuhali can be found close to the Ok’hanu Aetheryte at (X:17.4, Y:11.0) and sells Poison Frog Secretions (as well as other materials, such as Lesser Apollyon Shells) for 3 Bicolor Gemstones each.
However, if you’ve completed all of your Shared FATEs in each area of Dawntrail, you’ll have the two city state Gemstone Traders unlocked. Thes??e two vendors, in Tuliyollal and Solution Nine, sell all of the materials which? are otherwise available from each area's local Gemstone Traders for the same price.
The two city state Gemstone Traders in Dawntrail can be found in the following locations:
Although not the lucrative method to obtain Poison Frog Secretions, you can passively get some through the following Retainer Ventures:
However, this method will provide a maximum of 15 Po??ison Frog Secretions per 18 hour venture, not to menti??on the fact that it relies on luck, making it a very unreliable way to get the material.
Poison Frog Secretions is a vital ingredient to make Growth Formula Lambda, the recipe for whic??h is as follows:
Once you’ve made Growth Formula Lambda, is can be used to make the following Dawntrail housing items:

]]>If you’re anything like me, one of your most used actions while gathering in Final Fantasy XIV is either Arbor Call or Lay of the Land, depending which class you’re gathering wi??th. Well, there’s a simple trick which can put an end to this.
Now, I can’t take full credit for this. I’m not sure who originally shared this genius brainwave online, but it first came to my attention through this Twitter post, and I’ve been kicking myself (but also putting the tip to very good use) ever s??ince.
The trick is simple: when gathering, place waymarks down at a central location between pairs of nodes and keep doing this for the first loop. Then, these waymarks will show ?up not only on your main map, but also on your minimap, showing you exactly where yo?u need to go next at all times.
Don’t worry about anyone else becom?ing confused by your Waymarks, either. Only peo??ple within your Party can see waymarks that you place down, so unless you’re gathering with others, you’re the only person who will ever see them.
This trick comes in especially handy while gathering in Dawntrail areas. For some reason, the spaces between gathering nodes seem to have expanded to bizarre? sizes, so it’s very ea?sy to become lost or turned around while looking for your next node.
Not only does this save you time, but these Waymarks will remain in place until you physically leave the area or remove them yourself. If you have to step away for a moment, or get turned around and lose track of your next location, you won't have to deal with the 20 second cooldown for Arbor Call or Lay of the Land.
In case you’re unaware of the existence of Waymarks, or the fact that they c??an be used outside of?? duties simply slipped your mind as it did my own, don’t worry I’ve got you covered.
To place down Waymarks, open up the Party menu and select Waymarks from the menu. On PC, you can use the Ctrl+M shortcuts to open?? up the window as well.
Once you’ve opened up the Waymark menu, simply choose your Waymark and then use Ground Targeting Mode to place it down in the world wherever you want. It will shine like a beacon and guide your way?? back to the same location in future.
To save time moving?? forwar??ds, you can also drag these Waymarks from their own menu and place them on your Hot Bar. After doing that, just click the Waymark and place it down as you would from within the Waymark menu.

]]>The first of Dawntrail’s Savage Raids are coming on July 30 and with so many people diving in, there are some elite raiding groups who take things? to the next level and vie for the world first clear - here’s how you can watch this epic battle as it happens.
World First clears in FFXIV don’t come with any physical reward, or even in-game titles. There’s nothing more to this battle of the raiding experts than obtaining bragging rights, but that doesn’t make these world first races any less exciting? to witness or their accomplishment any less impressive.
If you want to watch the raiding groups battle through AAC: Light-heavyweight (Savage), each team will likely be streaming this on their own Twitch channels, but there’s one channel taking the spirit of The Arcadion and adding their own commentary to the mix - MogTalk.
The MogTalk stream will be raising money for Extra Life 4 Kids, a charity which backs local childrens hospitals to help ensure children with illnesses get the best of care, so simply watching this ??stream will be not only helping you to figure out the mechanics, but also helping others - so why watch anywhere else?
This World First Race comes after the champions of Pandaemonium, Neverland, signed up with Echo Esport??s, who boast many World First titles in World of Warcr??aft. Neverland will indeed be competing in this Arcadion World First Race, and in my opinion they’re definitely one to watch.
There will be plenty of other teams facing off ?against Neverland, including RAT and likely Aether Group 3, in the battle to be the first team in the world to clear the content, although the full list of those competing is not known at ??this time.
??If you want to watch, MogTalk will be streaming the event at the following times on July 30, although these times are subject to change:
The Arcadion raids have thus far been dubbed the most challenging raid series in FFXIV history by a lot of players, leading to some discourse between fans as to whether they’re too dif?ficult. However, the Savage Raids a??re sure to live up to their name and I for one can’t wait to watch the teams take on the killer mechanics.
Watching the World First R??aces is not only an exciting community moment in itself, but it can also be incredibly illuminating in helping to prep yourself for your own dive into the new Savage Raids. You can witness all of the mechanics, all of the retries, and admittedly some epic failures along the way safe in the knowledge that your own gear condition (or your sanity) is not at risk.

]]>Dawntrail hasn’t even been released for a month yet, but players around the world have their sights set on one thing ?patch 7.05. This is the biggest patch yet for Final Fantasy XIV since Dawntrail’s release, and com??es with a host of new con??tent to enjoy.
According to a Lodestone post released? on July 30, maintenance ahe??ad of the release of FFXIV's patch 7.05 will be taking place at the following times, depending on your location:
PST | EST | BST |
July 29, 11 p.m. - July 30, 3 a.m. | July 30, 2 a.m. - 6 a.m. | July 30, 7 a.m. - 11 a.m. |
The FFXIV Companion App and the Lodestone itself will also be undergoing maintenance during these times, so don't be too surprised if you're unable to?? access them before the patch goes live.
If you’re looking for new content to take part in now that you’ve completed the Dawntrail MSQ, you’re in luck. Patch 7.05 is bringing a lot of new experiences to FFXIV, including the first four fights of The Arcadion (Savage). These fights will also spark the first World First Race of Dawntrail, so the start of August is looking? to be a very exciting time.
Also included in the patch will be the addition of the first Dawntrail Treasure Dungeon, Cenote Jaja Gural. This means that the Br’aaxskin Maps which previously only resulted in a Treasure Coffer will have a chance to spawn a Portal into the Dungeon after the patch is implemented, offering more chances? for huge rewards and lu?xury items.
If your forté in FFXIV lays more in crafting and gathering than it does in fighting, worry not. The final thing being added with patch 7.05 is new Master Recipes. ?These will likely be obtained in exchange for Orange Scrips, so now is a good chance to stock up on those while you have the chance.
These Master Recipes will include new crafted gear which will carry an iLvl of 710 and will be purchasable through the Marketboard. For those looking to dive into those Savage Raids, this gear is a solid choice to boost your iLvl and get through the raids in one piece, even if you die a? few times along the way.
While these are the big things being added in 7.05, we're likely to see new minions, glamour items, and Triple Triad cards added to be picked up amid the new content.
Of course, as is always the case with x.05 patches, this one won’t bring any new MSQ quests to complete, as those are consistently added later on in the life span of an expansion. However, there’s no shortage of new content to set out and explore in Dawntrail, both already existing and yet to come.

]]>Sometimes, in new expansions of Final Fantasy XIV, older resources get a renewed sense of purpose as part of high level recipes. If you’re working through Wachumeqimeqi Deliveries in Dawntrail, you might have noticed one such resource.
Berkanan Sap is an Endwalker era resource, mostly used in sub-level 90 recipes, such as the meme-level brilliant Labyrinthos Grape Lamppost. However, it’s now ??also a??n ingredient in Cherimoya Juice as part of Xeerol Ja’s Juicecraft.
Berkanan Sap comes from, as the name sug??gests, Berkanan. They’re a Leafkin enemy found in a specific spot in Labyrinthos, and they’re hard to miss as they’re in?? the shape of giant, murderous trees.
There aren’t many Berkanan in the area, us?ually only about five, but they do seem to have a good drop rate when it comes to their precious Sap. They usually drop between one and four Saps at a tim??e, although you may occasionally come across one which wants to take its Sap to the grave and will not drop any.
All of the Berkanan in this area are level 88, so if you’ve got a Job at level ??100, you can take them down easily. The quickest way to get to this area is by heading to the Sharlayan Hamlet Aetheryte and traveling directly southeast.
If you do not want to wait for the Berkanan to respawn, you can always head to The Archeion Aetheryte and find the local Gemstone Trader. Fae??zbroes can be found at (X:29.9, Y:12.9) and he sells Berkanan Sap for 2 Bicolor Gemstones each.
You can purchase Berkanan Sap from Faezbroes even if you’ve only ever completed one FATE in Labyrinthos, but if you’ve completed all of your Endwalker Shared FATEs, you can also purchase it from the two main city Gemstone Traders for t?he same price.
The two main city Gemstone Traders in Endwalker can be found in the following locations:
There is also good news if you’r??e hoping to get yourself some Berkanan Sap passively, altho??ugh it’s not the most lucrative method.
Occasionally, Retainers sent out on level 88 Hunting Ventures will bring back some Berkanan Sap, although the amount will vary depending on their iLvl. Retainers with the Botanist class will also bring back Berkanan Sap from both level 85 and level 90 Fiend Explo??ration Ventures, bringing back between three and five Berkanan Sap after the 18 hour venture.&nbs??p;
However, considering the fact that you can complete a single FATE an?d then purchase upto eight Berkanan Sap using the Bicolor Gemstones you earned, doing FATEs is still the best way to get a ?pile of Berkanan Sap.
Although there are a few different uses for Berkanan Sap in FFXIV, there are two ?stand-out recipes that require it as an ing??redient:
Hyper-potions are used to restore ??up to 20% of a player's maximum HP (25% if the potion is high quality) and can be incredibly useful in an eme??rgency. To make three of them, you’ll need the following ingredients:
And as previously mentioned, if you’re working t??hrough Xeerol Ja’s Juicecraft as either an Alchemist or Culinarian, yo??u’ll need Berkanan Sap to complete the level 90 quest ‘Mon Cherimoya?
