Good Smile Company has added another iconic video game character to its classy Figma figurine range �This time, it's the turn of the charming if unnerving overseer of The Nexus, Demon's Souls' esteemed and much-loved overseer: The Maiden ??in Black??.

The sweet demon stands a little over six inches in height, and is sporting the trademark poseability that is a key feature of all Figma models. This allows the Maiden in Black to be posed in a variety of demure and evocative stances, bringing a sense of morose disquiet to anybody's bookshelf or work desk. The wallet-troubling merchandisers over at Good Smile Co. have opened pre-orders on the next gaming superstar joining its enormous range of ridiculously adorable Nendoroid figurines �And this time around, it's a true icon of the medium, with the coming of Street Fighter legend Chun-Li!

As with all Nendoroid releases, Chun-Li stands a dinky 100mm in height, (that's just under four inches), and comes complete with a stand and several faceplates and accessories �allowing fans to stage The Strongest Woman in The World in all manne?r of dynamic poses. The additional Faceplates include a business face, a cute smile, and even a tearful expression, though why you'd use that is beyond me. Accessories include alternate hands, a Kikoken fireball, and Chunner's famous Lightning Legs kick!

If you'd like your own pocket-sized Chun-Li to stand guard over your desk, then you can pre-order her right now over at the official Good Smile Co. store and other toy retailers. While Good Smile Company's catalogue of delightful Nendoroid toys is well into three figures, it is staggering to believe that WayForward's c??ute genie gal Shantae was still yet to join the roster. After all, The Half-Genie Hero seems custom designed for such pint-sized stylization.

Well, after years of longing, Good Smile has finally opened pre-orders on the new Nendo of the purple-haired wonder, ready to come dancing out of the screen and onto your toy shelf. As is the case f?or all Nendoroids, Shantae stands around four inches in height and features dynamically poseable limbs, so you can have our gal cutting a rug in any way you choose.

In terms of accessories, Shantae comes complete with a stand and three separate faceplates, offering her a cute smile, a cheeky wink, or as much of an "angry face" as she can muster... Somebody gon' get a hair-whuppin'. Shantae also has alternate arms posed for dancing, p??ointing, and fireball flinging, as well as a replacement ponytail in freeform whip action. The sun is shining, the weekend is just around the corner, and Good Smile Company has opened pre-orders on this ridiculously adorable Nendoroid of Guilty Gear's mysterious, straight-faced apocalypse lover, Ramlethal Valenti?ne.

Like so many of her compadres in the mammoth Nendoroid range, (though only the second pulled from Arc System Works' anime fight franchise), Ramlethal stands a dinky four inche?s in height, (and most of that is her big ol' hat), and is authentically bedecked in her bladed coat and hot pants combo. Packaged with Ramlethal are Lucifero and her semi-sentient greatswords, an alternate set of arms, and an alternate face plate �so you can ha??ve grumpy or grump-and-shouting. Clear stands allow Ramlethal and her swords to defy gravity, giving the impression that they are floating in place. Nice touch.

So, if you want a teeny world-eater of your very own, then the Ramlethal Valentine Nendoroid is available to pre-order now over at the Good Smile Co. online store. The next PlayStation character to get a Nendoroid is none other than Astro from Astro Bot Rescue Mission and Astro's Playroom, and that goes to show ?how far t?his mascot has come.

I mean it! We were talking about Good Smile Company's figure for Aloy (of Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West fame) just a few days ago. And now here's the humble little bot, looking lik??e a champ. ?When's the next game? There's got to be another one.

Good Smile Company is taking pre-orders, and you'll have until June 29 to partake. The Astro Nendoroid costs $63.99, and it's aiming to ship in February 2023, but as Siliconera points out, these things have a tendency to slip. You'll need some patience either w?ay.

Aside from the default face, Astro also comes with swappable "dizzy" and "smi??ling" expressions, as well as accessories: a fuse, a PlayStation coin, and laser feet.

I love this design as is, and it's a natural fit for the Nendoroid line, but one thing is missing. Imagine if they recreated some of the collectible PlayStation console "artifacts" from Astro's Playroom. The pack-in PS5 game was such a nostalgic, nod-filled coll??ect-a-thon.

The Astro Bot figure is so cute and pure, I feel guilty for neglecting Astro's Playroom �a game I got all of the trophies for but admittedly have??n't thought about much since the PS5 launche?d. I should download that again (you can never have enough free space...) and try to improve some of my times. Or maybe I'll just pop back in to soak up the jams.

Good Smile Company's range of pint-sized Nendoroid figures are well known for their wholesome adorability... But I think this latest effort takes things to a whole new level of cuteness. The intrepid Aloy �protagonist of Guerrilla Games' acclaimed Horizon franchise �is taking aim at y??our heart and wallet.

Like the many Nendoroid releases before her, Aloy stands a dinky four inches in height and comes sculpted in high-quality painted PVC plastic. Aloy comes packaged with three faceplates: a sweet grin, a little grumpy roar, and a w??inking/aiming expression. Aloy comes loaded for bear with her trusty spear, bow & arrow, and even a power-enhancing Focus segment. As a cool little extra, the Aloy Nendoroid also comes with a super-scaled-down version of the rec??onnaissance machine: The Watcher.

While Nendoroids are well known for their fun detailing and petite nature, Aloy here has really captured my heart, and might be my favorite Nendo since Overwatch's Sombra, which debuted way back in 2018. If fancy an Aloy for your very own, then you can pre-order the new Nendoroid over on the official Good Sm?ile Co. website. Aloy will retail f??or ¥6,500 (or roughly $50 USD), not including shipping or any potential customs charges, and she is expected to ship in October of this year.

We all love Hades, right? Of course we do, we're not monsters. But I'm sure you'd agree that for such a cool-looking, stylish game, packed with the hottest cast this side of Asphodel, there is a shocking lack?? of available merch �Where the hell is my plush Artemis? Still, Good Smile Company is trying to get the boulder rolling, opening pre-orders on a new Nendoroid of Hades' swoonsville?? protagonist, Zagreus.

As is typical of the Nendoroid line, the trouble-causing Prince of the Underworld stands a dinky four-inches high, and will also come complete with a selection of fun accessories �including a Bloodstone cast, his trusty Blade of Stygi??us, his Captain America-esque Shield of Aegis, and a little bottle of nectar to offer Dusa, Than, Nyx, or Good Boy Cerbereus. Zagreus comes packaged with a base, weapon stands, and alte??rnate faceplates, seemingly depicting "grin" and "rogueish grin".

If you fancy the bad boy (who doesn't?) for yourself, then you'll be pleased to know that pre-orders are now live over at the Good Smile Co. website. The Zagreus Nendoroid retails for ¥5,500 (or roughly $55 USD) and is expected to ship toward the very end of 2022. He's almos??t a year away! The merchandise-makers over at Good Smile Co. have opened up pre-orders on a fresh run of Figmas based upon popular protagonists from Atlus' beloved RPG franchise, Persona. The three Persona Figma have all been previously available, (and even rereleased before), but Good Smile is offering newer fans the opportunity to pick up the deleted stars once again??.

The three protagonists �all hoping to make the leap to a bookshelf near you �are Persona 3's Makoto Yuki, Persona 4's Yu Narukami and, of course, Persona 5's "Joker", Ren Amamiya. Standing roughly six inches in height, all three characters come complete with stand, alternate hands, and?? a variety of bespoke accessories. Makoto, Yu, and Ren all feature Figma's trademark poseability function, allowing the superstars to be fixed into all manner of super-cool and dynamic stances.

Each of the Persona Figma wonder boys will retail for ¥7,000, (or roughly $70?? USD), not including shipping or any applicable customs charges. Pre-orders are live on the official Good Smile Co. website now and will close on November 11. There's still something of a wait ahead, however, as t??he rereleases are not expected to hit western shores until fall 2022.

Is it actually possible for Hades' anti-hero Zagreus to be any cuter than he already is? Good Smile Co. seem to think so, with a weekend announcement that the hell-raiser is about to be immortalized in teeny, tiny plastic form, the newest pop culture cha??racter to joi?n the merch-maker's Nendoroid range.

As this was merely an initial announcement, there are unfortunately no prototype images of Hades Nendoroid Zagreus, but Good Smile did bestow upon us an artist's impression of the wild prince's final form. We can expect Zagreus to stand four inches in height, and the likelihood that he will be accompanied by alternate faceplates and even a few accessories... If he doesn't come with a Dusa head then Good Smile has absolutely missed a trick. More information will be revealed soon, and we'll be sure to let you know when the Hades Nendoroid line is open for pre-orders.

Back on digital Mount Olympus, Supergiant Games' Hades continues to pull in new fans every month, drawn in by its compelling gameplay loop and insanely sexy cast of characters. Since its official PC and Switch release in late 2020, the roguelike RPG has continued to win numerous awards and plaudits, and just last month received a long-awaited port to PlayStation and Xbo?x platforms. Licensors and brands �such? as Good Smile and Nendoroid �are no doubt salivating at the continued merch possibilities... As am I, quite frankly. Toys to fill you with DETERMINATION

Two more legendary faces from the world of video games are joining the mammoth Nendoroid figure range. As revealed this morning by merch-makers Good Smile Co., the rascally duo of Sans and Papyrus from popular RPG Undertale will soon be given the dinky Ne?ndoroid treatmen?t, ready to sit on your bookshelves and offer you the worst life advice.

Unfortunately, Good Smile did not have any prototype images to show off, but the bony brothers were revealed on Twitter with an artist's impression of their final for??ms. Fans can expect the two figurines to stand around four inches in height, and they may even be packaged with alternate faceplates and other accessories, such is the way of the Nendoroid range. Good Smile Co. listed the two figurines as "Coming Soon", but I wouldn't be surprised if we're look??ing at late-2022.

The Nendoroid range continues to conquer pop culturedom with its huge range of chibi TV, movie, and video game stars. Among globally recognized characters such as Zelda, Link, Hatsune Miku, and Disney Princesses, the range also features lesser-known characters from franchises such as Sakura Wars, Sakuna: Of Rice & Ruin, Hololive, RWBY, My Hero Academia, Persona, and many, many more.

The Nendoroid figurines feature an intricately detailed design, with a charisma that I think puts them head and shoulders over the similar Funko POP toys, although this is reflected in a higher price-point, with the average Ne?ndo retailing around $55 U??SD.

The adorable but mischievous Princess Sakuna, titular star of farming RPG Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is definitely making her presence felt here and there. We recently reported on the harvest goddess's new Pop-Up Parade figurine, as well as her crossover appearance in Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town, and this week brings news of both ?a new toy and a second guest appearan??ce. You love to see it!

First up, Good Smile Co. has announced that Sakuna will be joining the mammoth ranks of the merch-producers super-cute Nendoroid line of figurines. Thanks to its cheerful cast of characters, classical style, and interesting, genre-blended gameplay, Sakuna would still find a dedicated following and, eventually, pass the one million sales mark. As I have noted on this here website before, I have a selection of toys lined up on my PC desk to keep me on the straight and narrow. From Animal Crossing's Isabelle, to Persona 5 jailers Justine & Caroline, my placement of these stoic and sensible folk is designed to keep me from straying too far into laziness and procrastination. And it looks like a brand new figurine is set to join my desktop collection, in the form of the titular Sakuna, hero of Edelweiss' Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin!

Princess Sakuna is the newest member of Good Smile Company's "Pop-Up Parade": an array of stylish, non-poseable figurines based on various anime and video game franchises. The Harvest Goddess stands just under seven inches tall and is depicted in her paddy field gear, complete with her magical sash and awesome sun hat. Sakuna is working hard to bring crops to the people of Hinoe Island, right before a nighttime shift of demon hunt??ing. What a darling!

All that toiling pays off

In news to brighten many mornings, Good Smile Company has announced that it will be adding Princess Sakuna from Xseed Games' Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin to its burgeoning Nendoroid range. The mischievous farmer was a?nnounced as part of the "WonHobby32" showcase, which revealed a selection of c?ute toys and collectibles for a variety of gaming and anime IPs. Has there ever been a character so suited to the cute toy brand?

Unfortunately, it seems like the Harvest Goddess is still a long way out, as Good Smile only has a single piece of concept art to show h??er fans, but it appears that Sakuna ??will be fashioned in her lavish work garb, and will be accessorized with numerous tools and her trusty conical hat. We can likely expect the finished design to feature an alternate faceplate.

Released in November for PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin sees the tearaway goddess sent to a remote island in order to help the local community rebuild and farm their crops. Once there, however, Sakuna becomes embroiled in a battle between the ramshackle village and an army of monsters that roam the land. While Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin did not exactly light up the score board, developer Edelweiss has noted it is pleased with the product and would like to see Sakuna's adventures continue in a possible sequel.

Cutesy 2B toy has a pal on the way

PlatinumGames' NieR: Automata continues on its relentless quest to become one of the most merchandised titles in gaming history. The latest addition to the dystopian sci-fi series premium ran?ge of toys, figures, and models is this sweet replication (no pun intende??d) of android boy 9S, stylized in Nendoroid form.

The prototype Nendo was revealed by manufacturer Good Smile Company as part of the week's "WonHobby 32" showcase, which is debuting a r?ange of toys and merchandise related to various Japanese properties. Nendoroid 9S is depicted in super-serio??us form, equipped with his trusty katana and accompanied by robo-pal Bot 153. In true Nendo fashion, we can expect the final model to feature several accessories and possibly an alternate faceplate.

As this is merely the first painted prototype, 9S is still some way out from release, and is not yet available for pre-order from Good Smile Co. But we'll be sure to let you know when he hits the market. In the meantime, 2B owners might want to clear out a little space beside her... Now, if we can ?just get A2...

As CDPR release Cyberpunk 2077 pushes from one controversy to the next, it's all too easy to remember glossier days, filled with promise, spangly demos, and an adorably awkward Keanu Reeves responding to an E3 audience member's impromptu plaudits.?? Good times. Maybe we'll have them again.

Posing Pricey Pop Princesses

When I was ??younger, I wasted so much money on merch and memorabilia. I used to go to comic and film fairs quarterly, with pockets full of hard-earned income, then traipse home loaded down with plastic junk I absolutely did not need and ultimately failed to validate my life. Since those heady, carefree days, I rarely purchase figures, model??s, and statues with the same reckless abandon...

...Then Good Smile revealed their Splatoon 2 Pearl & Marina Figmas and ruined everything.

Originally teased back in July, the Off the Hook duo will soon join Good Smile's huge range of colorful, nicely detailed, and highly poseable figurines - all of whom are based on a catalogue of heroes and villains from video game franchises such as Overwatch, Persona, Metroid, Silent Hill, Sword Art Online, and Fire Emblem, among others.

Pearl stands? roughly 3.5 inches in height, while her Octoling pal Marina is a little taller at just under four inches. As with previous Figma releases, Pearl & Marina come packaged with alternate faceplates and hands, as well as an accessory pack featuring a microphone, Pearl's trusty chair, and Marina's DJ decks for when she's spinning the platters t?hat matter.

Figmas retail for premium prices at the best of times, but as Off the Hook are sold as a double-pack, the rap-rock duo will be retailing for an expensive $147 USD. Had I known this, I wouldn't have pre-ordered a PS5, as I'm preeeetty confident that this is a be?tter investment. Then again, I'm also on a helluva lot of medication today. Tomorrow, I expect cooler heads will prevail, and I will ultimately stick with the duo's equally fun, (and miles cheaper), amiibo equivalents.

The merchandising giant has revealed two new toys based on Danganronpa's Monokuma and Monomi, now available to pre-order over at the official Good Smile store.

The soft vinyl figurines detail the deadly Danganronpa hosts in all of their homicidal glory. Each figure stands (sits?) around five inches in height and sport articulated arms, so you can perc??h them on your mantlepiece where they will no doubt inspire you to kill your loved ones. Available to pre-order from now until October 21, Both Monokuma and Monomi retail for a somewhat pricey $60 USD each, (not including shipping), and are expected to release in January of 2021. This unfortunately means that the duo will just miss the current Danganronpa anniversary festivities, but it has to be said Spike has done a fine job delivering news and goodies to fans of the twisted franchise in 2020.

Ellie's Nendoroid is based on her appearance in the just-released sequel The Last of Us Part II, and bundles the regular urban survivor with an alternate faceplate and several accessories. Players can display the dinky mass murderer with either a pensive or shouty face, while arming her a machete, bow & arrow, handgun, or that TLOU staple, a hefty housebrick. Kawaii!

You're gonna need a bigger shelf

This weekend saw Wo?nder Festival 2020 take place in Japan, with multiple memorabilia manufacturers in attendance up to show off their incoming products, all vying for the hard-earned cash of collectors everywhere. Leading the charge this year w??as Japanese retailer Good Smile Co. who previewed a ton of awesome, gaming-related merch.

Among the neat shelf-fillers announced or revealed by Good Smile this past weekend were Nendoroids of The Witcher's Yennefer, Bayonetta, Bloodborne's Hunter, Okami's Amaterasu, Hero from Dragon Quest 11, Atelier Ryza's Ryza, Fortnite's Skull Trooper, Overwatch's Reinhardt, Shin Megami Tensei's Jack Frost, Hyperdimension Neptunia's Neptune (in both Purple Heart and Nep-Nep form), and the Monster Hunter: World protagonists in male and female variants.

From the delicate and highly articulate Figma line, Max Factory is currently producing figurines of Sekiro from Shadows Die Twice, Cliff from Death Stranding, Goro Akechi from Persona 5, and Splatoon 2's incomparable duo Pearl and Marina. Also on display was a luscious 1/7 scale figurine of Crymaria Levin from Valkyria Chronicles 4. But perhaps the neatest prototype revealed this weekend is this lovely figurine of the mysterious protagonist from 2012's Journey.

Video game merch continues to bring in the big bucks from toy collectors worldwide, and this weekend will no doubt leave many adding to their perpetually growing shopping list. I've personally been a lot more discerning that I used to be when it comes to picking up gaming merch, but I'm definitely on board for the Pearl and Marina Figmas, the Journey figurine, and perhaps even the Nep-Nep Nendo.

Fans of Fire Emblem: Three Houses will be pleased to hear that merch-maker Good Smile Co. has re??vealed the first in what is likely a run of Figmas featuring the characters of Nintendo's schoolyard rumble. First up is the leader of The Black Eagles herself, the steadfast Edelgard von Hresvelg.

The axe-wielding Princess of the Adrestian Empire will be immortalised in the classic Figma format, standing a little under six inches in height and equipped with the brand's trademark articulation, which allows for wide variety of proud and dramatic poses. D?ressed to the nines in her beautiful and regal uniform, Edelgard will include two choices of faceplate, along with her Killer Axe and Aymr weapons.

Edelgard von Hresvelg's Figma can be pre-ordered over at the Good Smile Co. website for ¥8,000 (or roughly $70 USD) not including shipping or any potential customs charges. Edelgard is expected to ship in July 2020.

Adorable toy brings death and mayhem

When I think of the cutesy vinyl figurines that are Nendoroids, I think of games such as The Legend of Zelda, Overwatch, Persona, and other colourful titles full of smiling, fun-loving characters. So it's with a little surprise that I bring you the news of the latest figure coming to the Nendoroid line, Bloodborne's Hunter.

At present, only concept art is available, but we can see that the kawaii demon-slayer has their classy-but-weathered gear all present and correct, along with an adorable little saw clea?ver and a darling blunderbuss. It's probably safe to assume that this Nendo will come with other ?accessories and possibly variant faceplates, as is the style of the brand.

While I jest a little on the darker edge this Nendoroid takes, I do think it will be a great product, given the stylish design and detail of the Bloodborne characters. Given tha??t only concept art has been revealed, we're probably looking at some months before Hunter will be available to cleave a path through your bookshelf.

Dinky Dominatrix

During last weekend's Wonder Festival in Japan, toy manufacturer Good Smile Co. revealed that Sega's popular haute couture witch, Bayonetta, is in line to receive the Nendoroid treatment. That is,?? she is to be shrunk down into a super-cute chibi style, and then released as a somewhat pricey figurine.

Unfortunately, there are no images, or even concept pictures of Bayo's upcoming Nendo, but given what we know of the brand, we can take it a?s given that she'll probably come with a selection of alternate accessories and faceplates. It appears that Bayonetta will also be rocking her classic look from the first game, which launched way back in 2009, if you can believe that.

Of course, we'll give you a heads?? up once Bayo is ready to make her grand appearance.

Pint-sized princess

Good Smile continues to adorablify (I went there) some of video games' greatest heroes, transforming them into the cute figurines of the ongoing Nendoroid range. This weekend, courtesy of Japanese convention Wonder Festival, we got to see the finished design of the previously announced Zelda Nendo.

Rocking her quaint Breath of the Wild look, we can see that a fine job has been done in captu??ring the charming spirit of Hyrule's favourite princess. Only one photo has been revealed so far, so we'll have to wait a bit longer to check out her accessories or alternate faceplates. Still, she's looking good I think, a release worth keeping an eye out for.

As release dates for Nendoroids are usually set several months after pre-orders open, it's getting a bit late in the day for Zelda to hit the shelves before 2020, but we'll find out more details soon enough. In the meantime, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is always available on Nintendo Switch.

Looking to the skies to save me

Virtual Reality enthusiasts UNIVRS has begun crowdfunding for a new VR title based on the popular - and pretty rad - anime/manga franchise Little Witch Academia. Now underway on Kickstarter, the project hopes to fund new title Little Witch Academia: VR Broom Racing.

As you've no doubt guessed from the title, VR Broom Racing will see players ??assign the role of a new student in Luna Nova Academy, who will go on a series of sky-high engagements with series regulars such as Akko, Lotte, Diana and, my personal favourite, Sucy.

The goal is a pretty mighty five million yen (roughly $46,000), of which around 1.3 million has been raised at the time of this writing. The Kickstarter is being run in conjunction with studios Trigger and Toei, as well as merch makers Good Smile and other outlets, and will close on August 18. If successful, Little Witch Academia: VR Broom Racing will be developed for Oculus Rift,?? Quest, PlayStation VR and?? SteamVR.

It's been a pretty neat day for Persona fans. First we had day one of the great Persona Super Live P-Sound Street 2019: Welcome to No. Q Theater! concert, which was then followed by further info on the upcoming Persona 5 The Royal release, heading to PS4 in Japan later this year and worldwide in 2020.

But if that wasn't enough, now we have a st??ring of ultra-cute photos of the next Phantom Thief to be immortalised in Figma form. Futaba Sakura - also known by her Phantom T??hief pseudonym Oracle - is now available to pre-order over at the Good Smile website. The cheeky brainiac stands a dinky 5.3 inches high and features Figma's trademark articulation, so you can stand her in all sorts of dynamic poses.

Rocking her casu??al out-and-about gear, Futaba also comes with her trusty smartphone, as well as a series o??f alternate hands, her creepy giant doll head mask, and a selection of alternate faceplates. Fun time toy manufacturer Good Smile Co. has announced that they are at work on a Nendoroid figurine of one of gaming's greatest gals. Princess Zelda, sporting her awesome Breath of the Wild design, is headed to a bookshelf near you.

Unfortunately, there's little to show other than an artist's impression of the finished product, but Zelda ?already looks totes adorbs. No doubt she will come with a selection of mini-accessories and alternate faceplates, as is the case for most Nendoroids. There's not even a hint at a release date, but these figures usually release several months after their models are revealed, so hopefully she'll be arriving in time for the holiday season.
