There are many useful crafting components to farm in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, with the Vitality Hoof being one of them. However, it can be a bit tricking knowing exactly how to get the valuable hoof. This is how to get the Vitality hoof in Granblue Fantasy: Relink and the best way to farm it.

How to get the Vitality Hoof

In order to get the Granblue Fantasy: Relink Vitality Hoof, you need to farm the mission titled The Saga Continues: Wind at Halewind Altar. The encounter will have you fight the Maniac version of Furyca?ne which is the boss that actually drops the Vitality Hoof. You can continuously farm this mission once you unlock it later in the game.

To unlock the Mania Furycane encounter, you need to complete the Maniac missions available? to you, which will eventually unlock the Maniac form of Furyc??ane in The Saga Continues: Wind mission.

It's important to note that once you start leveling up your weapons to higher levels or are looking to Awaken your Ascension weapon, you will need to farm Vitality Hoof and other crafting materials specifically ?from Maniac versions of bosses.

Vitality Hoof is not dropping

If the Vitality Hoof is not dropping for you in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, chances are you are fighting the Extreme version of Furycane, not the Maniac version. This does not drop the Vitality? Hoof; only Maniac version does. Make sure you are actu??ally on the Maniac version of The Saga Continues: Wind.

The actual drop rate on the Vitality Hoof from Maniac Furycane is 40%, s??o it's not a guaranteed drop. Still, the drop rate ??is not too bad, and you should be getting one every 2-4 attempts.

Once you've unlocked Mania Furycane, you can also purchase a Vitality Hoof from Siero for 5 Gold Badges. However, this is incredibly ine?fficient compared to just farming the Vitality Hoof fro??m Maniac Furycane kills.

This weekend, Cygames celebrated the tenth anniversary of its long-running Granblue Fantasy series. While Granblue Fantasy: Relink may have launched for PC and PS5 earlier this year, the first game in the franchise has been entertaining fans for much longer. As part of the celebration, Cygames gave players a few more details on what to expect for the console ??game's future updates.

With Granblue Fantasy: Relink update version 1.3.0 coming in May 2024, Sandalphon has been confirmed as being added to the roster of playable characters. This twelve-winged Primarch carries the hopes of all those who live in the skies with him, and he's one of the most powerful characters in every game in the series to date. That's why he's probably going to be the most powerful character in Granblue Fantasy: Relink come the May update.

//www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrqRG0zZg8w

Sandalphon will join players as part of a quest called Vision of the End. In it, you'll have to take down L??ucilius, a character who is well-known among the fan base. Essentially, after researching gods and evolution, he decided he'd carve his own path and established his own little following who wanted to end the world. You'll definitely need Sandalphon's he?lp to stop him because Lucilius is effectively a god.

What makes Sandalphon such a powerful Granblue Fantasy character?

While Sandalphon will join you as a guest character in the Vision of the End quest, he's also being added to the roster of playable characters. At the time of writing, he's one of the highest-rated c?haracters in Granblue Fantasy and is beloved by long-time players. In the original game, he's one of the few characters you can run with past the point you start acquiring decent ones through its gacha system.

What makes Sandalphon such a powerhouse is his massive attack power and the buffs and debuffs he can apply. All of his skills in Granblue Fantasy work to help other characters have debuffs removed, heal the party, or speed up t??he rate at which everyone can use their strongest abilities. He can also make a mean cappuccino.

While we don't have specific details on what Sandalphon's skills will be in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, there's a reason Cygames is introducing him as part of the battle against a character who wants to kill the gods and end the world. I can't wait to see how he changes up the best party compositions ??and just what he's capable of doin??g at max level with fully leveled-up weapons.

Cygames has only revealed details for updates to Granblue Fantasy: Relink up to May 2024. Beyond that, we have no idea what's going to happen, but we know the game has adopted a massive fan base. I'd love to see the game get even more updates with more characters from the wider franch??ise and hard-hitting quests like Vision of the End. Once Sandalphon arrives, Cygames may confirm what its plans are.

RPGs are having an amazing year in terms of sales, with Persona 3 Reload and Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth raking in the dough. Now, another reaches one million copies sold: CygamesGranblue Fantasy: Relink.

The game’s team celebrated the one million copies on X (formerly Twitter) with a sweet-looking drawing and thanked those who played. They also promise to provide more updates for the Granblue Fantasy: Relink, which includes new playable c?haracters throughout March and April.

On a Hot Streak

//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hg2wKVsGTL8

Granblue Fantasy: Relink was released in the midst of some heavy-hitting games like Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and Persona 3 Reload. Still, it held its ground and surprised quite a lot of people with its engaging gameplay ??and intriguing story. A demo for the game dropped in early January, which gave the game some attention.

It also helps that Granblue Fantasy: Relink includes multiplayer, making it a bit more sociable than your average RPG. Surprisingly, or maybe not due to its multiplayer leanings, the Steam Database shows the game outdoing Persona 3 Reload and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth in player count on that platform. For ??a series that’s only a decade old and started as a? Japan-exclusive mobile game, it’s doing incredible.

I’ll be honest: I haven’t had the chance to hop onto the Granblue Fantasy: Relink train. I do plan to play the demo, since RPGs are some of my favorite games. I mean, its combat looks like Tales of Arise, and I know Tales of Arise. It’s right up my alley. We did have the amazing Steven Mills on the case, who gave the game an 8 out of 10. Seems like it's a good time to get on the Granblue train.

Cygames is really pushing the Granblue Fantasy IP to all-n?ew heights. The first game from the franchise launched almost a decade ago exclusively in Japan as a mobile and browser-based JRPG. Over 35 million people played thi??s iteration of the game, but it never really made it to the West other than an English patch.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is somewhat of a reim??agination of the original game, but as a full-fledged action RPG. Instead of waiting out timers or saving up for gacha pulls, you'll progress ??through a series of missions unlocking new quests and characters along the way. More importantly, you'll engage in real-time action RPG as opposed to tapping buttons when it's your turn to attack.

The best way to describe how Granblue Fantasy: Relink plays is this: Fast-paced action combat similar to that of the Tales series, with a progression system and overall gameplay loop akin to Monster Hunter.?? Yes I know, it sounds wei??rd. But it actually kind of works if you're looking for an action RPG with fast-paced combat and a big grind.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink (PC, PS5[reviewed], PS4)
Developer: Cygames

Released: February 1, 2024

A journey in the clouds

Granblue Fantasy: Relink takes pla?ce in the Sky Realm, a massive skyscape littered with floating islands that serve as the bastions of life in a never-ending sea of blue sky. The single-player campaign puts us in the role of either Gran or Djeeta, captain of an airship and its crew who are seeking the fabled island of Estalucia. Each of the two potential main characters has very different playstyles, which is an interesting choice. Gran is more support-focused, while Djeeta can sort of do everything at a solid level.

However, the adventure to the end of the known world quickly ??turns sour. One of your crewmates, a young girl named Lyria who has the power to control primal beasts, suddenly has trouble doing so. At first, she uses one of her controlled beasts Bahamut—yes, a massive dragon—to fight off some monsters attacking your airship. But suddenly ?Bahamut defies her control and turns on her and your crew.

This is actually the opening boss of the game and serves as a glimpse into the typical flow of missions in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Progress thro?ugh a mission killing some easier monsters, culminating in an epic final boss battle at the end.

Story-wise, you and your crew continue to ??search for Estalucia while? also trying to determine what's going on with Lyria's powers. As you might have guessed, the two storylines converge and overlap. Unfortunately, I kind of saw where the story was going pretty early.

In the end, the roughly 15-hour single-player campaign of Granblue Fantasy: Relink is decent, but has its flaws. Don't expect open-world traversal or anything similar. In fact, most of the story is linear, sending you from point A to point B to continue the story and unlock the next encounter in order to progress. However, while most games are all about their single-player campaign, some would argue that's all pretty much just the tutorial/prologue for Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Upon completing the campaign you unlock the post-game, which is where Relink transitions into a Monster Hunter-style mission system.

Time to grind

You could make the argument that the campaign for Granblue Fantasy: Relink is the app??etizer, and the post-game is the main course. Once you’ve rolled credits, it's time to start grinding out missions for materials to enhance your weapons and character levels to unlock new skills and m?asteries for the broad cast of characters.

Once you've unlocked the post-game, you can still choose to play solo and have the AI take on the role of three other characters in your party that you have unlocked. Or, you can play online with up to three friends. In fact, a lot of missions are actually co-op-required missions, that in turn give you better rewards for teaming up with others to? tackle them.

While I like the idea of co-op in this game as a whole, I don't really like feeling as thoug?h I need co-op to get better rewards. Unfortunately, I didn't get to test out the co-op too much because there didn't seem to be others with access that had gotten as far as I did. It's not that I don't have friends or anything. Seriously, I have friends.

So either by yourself, or with the friends you have that totally exist, you'll start out in a familiar hub—once again, think Monster Hunter/em>fu?ll of vendors, quest givers, and other NPCs. Here you can use the materials you've acquired from completing missions to upgrade and enhance your gear, increasing y?our damage.

Next, you head to the mission counter and select a mission to head out on, unlocking more as you complete existing ones. There are a whopping seven difficulties in total. Each one is, of course, more challenging, but also increases the rewards for completin??g them. I started on the Action difficulty, which was the default difficulty. I found it super easy, so I increased my difficulty to Hard, and found it pretty easy as well. The rest of the difficulties don't unlock until you progress through the post-game, but it does eventually get quite challenging, requiring you to level your characters and gear them up appropriately to have a chance against some of the tougher encounters.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink Screenshot 3

Quite the roster

There are currently 20 characters, each with their own playstyle, weapon, and mastery tree. A few of the characters are unlocked as you play through the story, but the rest have to be unlocked via Crewmate Ca??rds.? As you progress through the post-game missions and complete Side Quests, you'll earn those Crewmate Cards; you can then exchange them to unlock a single new character of your choice.

With so many characters?? and the mobile game background, I genuinely was expecting this to be a random or gacha process. But I'm happy to say it's not. You can eventually grind and obtain enough Crewmate Cards to unlock all the characters, though I'm sure a lot more characters are coming via DLC.

Just like in Monster Hunter where every weapon has its own unique playstyle and purpose, the same can be said about the characters in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. For example, the main character, Gran, is a great?? support character, efficient at immobilizing enemies while also healing allies. Meanwhile, Zeta is a dragoon, able to jump around between targets while chaining attack combos ??to deal massive damage.

If you're playing solo you can set up your party, choosing all four characters to bring along. You can manually switch between characters while on a mission, or control the varying levels of assistance from the AI and focus on playing your main? character. In online co-op, you'll just control your character while other players in your party cont?rol theirs. This culminates in a fun "MMORPG-style" combat, where you try to make sure you have a tank, healer, and some damage dealers and extra support.

From Dragons to Goblins to Dragons again

You have the option of mitigating attacks by pushing L1 to Guard, or R2 to Dodge out of the way. Square is your Basic Attack, while Triangle is your Unique Attack. X causes you to Jump which, while not an effective defensive maneuver like Dodge, feels nice to be able to do. If you hold down R1, you'll then be able to follow up with Square, Triangle, Circle, and X to perform skills that are unique to each character. As you progress through your character's Mastery tree you will unlock and upgrade your skills. It's a very fast-paced and fun combat system overall, similar to that from the Tales games, the newer Star Ocean games, or for a throwback, the classic Ragnarok Odyssey.

I'm a huge fan of epic boss fights, and thankfully Granblue Fantasy: Relink is full of them. There are dozens of unique bosses in the game, each with their own att??ack patterns and mechanics you will have to learn. On earlier difficulties, you can mostly just spam your attacks and skills. But on tougher difficulties, you have?? to make sure you're actually dodging attacks and attacking in a more coordinated manner.

One strange result of the post-game being essentially a whole new experience is some immediate contrast in the missions you take on. As you complete the campaign you'll be fighting massive powerful creatures that protect the ends of the known world. But at the sta??rt of the post-game, you'll find yourself back to?? fighting Wolves and Goblins. Definitely a weird feeling.

A game of numbers

For the most part, Granblue Fantasy: Relink becomes a game a??bout numbers. Once you've chosen a character that you like and a playstyle that caters to you, you want to make that character as strong as possible. There are many ways to increase your character's power, from finding new weapons to enha??ncing and upgrading existing ones, as well as leveling up, empowering your skills, and unlocking new masteries.

I think this is where Cygames' history as a mobile developer really serves them well. Like it or not, mobile games are typically full of little dopamine rushes. Unfortunately, this can be used to create arguably predatory spending practices in such games. However, in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, you get the dopamine hits without having to grab your? credit card.

Each mission itself has chests at the end that grant you rewards, but you'll also get rewards for completing the mission. There are also sidequests such as "Kill X of Y enemy" or "Gather X m??aterial" that you will pick up at the hub in between missions. Oh, and there are also Trophies and Achievements you will acquire just by completing long-term tasks, such as defeating so many of a certain enemy type or opening so many chests. I can't deny the joyful feeling of completing a mission, only to receive a ton of rewards for also completing various side quests and finishing some Trophies. All the rewards go towards upgrading and further powering up your character, and then the loop continues.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink features an incredibly sa??tisfying gameplay loop on the back of an outstanding, fast-paced combat system. If you're looking for a narrative-driven experience, this isn't it. But if you're looking for a fun grind that constantly feels satisfying and rewarding, that's exactly what you have here.

In my opinion, the gameplay makes up for the shortcomings of the campaign. And even though the mission-based system feels grindy by design, it's a fun grind, and one I look forward to continuing. In a year full of RPG releases, Granblue Fantasy: Relink is a s??olid early entry into the genre, and has earned its spot as one of the good ones.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink kicks off February 2024 with an anticipated action-RPG. With a stunning watercolor-like look, Granblue Fantasy: Relink is based on the popular mobile game series, which also spawned an anime and a fighting game. The game features four-player co-op as you explore this stunning world.

According to the Steam listing, we'll be able to "choose from a diverse roster of skyfarers, each with their own unique weapons, skills, and combat styles." This action RPG plunges onto PlayStation and PC systems on February 1.

Another RPG arrives later on February 2 just after Persona 3 Reload. It's a complete remake of the PS2 classic, featuring an all-new UI, gorgeous graphical upgrade, and voice cast. Both the classic and the PSP reinterpretation have their pros and cons, but the Reload version seems to be the best way to play, d?espite lacking the female protagonist from the portable entry.

Like Persona 5, you'll be taking on tasks around the town, hanging out with friends, and pursuing an evil force in Tartarus. "I really didn’t feel like an hour had passed by," said Timothy Monbleau in his Destructoid preview. "I felt so caught up in Persona 3 Reload’s g?ameplay that ?I honestly thought I had twenty more minutes." That's always a good sign.

Publisher Warner Bros. Games arguably fumbled the release of Gotham Knights, and fans of Batman: Arkham City developer Rocksteady hope that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League succeeds. It may not be a single-p??layer game, but the story seems compelling. You play as the Suicide Squad, attempting to kill the Justice Lea?gue, who have been turned evil by prominent DC villain Brainiac.

Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark each have their own abilities to add to the mix. It's?? predominantly a third-person shooter as you explore the smashed-up city of Metropolis.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been the subject of scrutiny. First, the game was in development for quite a while, and has been delayed several times. Second, its live service model has left some scratching their heads. Lastly, the game has already had launch issues for the 72-hour early access players, with saves acting as complete befo?re they even begin the campaign.

Despite that, if the combat isn't repetitive and the story is intriguing enough, maybe Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League could still work out on February 2. Be wary of spoilers, however.

The problem is that the most valuable resources are found in the more dangerous areas of the map, adding a risk-reward system.

You might want to hold off on a full replay of Remake before Rebirth, however. "Overall, it mostly felt like more Final Fantasy 7 Remake with a few additions I could take or leave," explained Timothy Monbleau in Destructoid's preview. "I honestly wouldn’t recommend replaying Remake leading up to Rebirth, since I th??ink you’d burn yourself out with how similar they are." It launches on February 29.

Upcoming action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink will get a demo for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. In areas where it is already January 12, like New Zealand, the demo is available now.

3 Modes and a launch version reward

The demo will feature three different modes: Tutorial, Story, and Quest modes. In tutorial mode, players will be able to practice the basic controls of the game to get comfortable with Granblue Fantasy: Relink's ARPG combat system. Story mode will feature a brief section from the introduction part of Relink, showcasing a bit? of the story. Last is Quest Mode, which includes three different quests. The quests are multiplayer-compatible allowing players to team up with 1-3 friends or AI-controlled allies in more challenging battles.

Alongside the three modes, the demo will also feature the ??ability to customize gear load-outs across 11 different playable characters.

Those who complete the Story and Quest modes of the dem??o will get some small bonuses in the release version at launch. It's always great when a demo adds some sort of bonus for playing it or even a save that carries over. It makes me much more interested in giving it a whirl when I know there's something to gain from doing so or?? that I won't have to do everything again.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink launches on January 31, 2024 on PC, PlayStati?on 4, and PlayStation 5.

Gamescom's first batch of big announcements includes another shift for the Granblue Fantasy Relink release date. During today's Opening Night Live, Cygames revealed its m??obile game-turned-action-RPG will l?aunch on February 1, 2024.

For those keeping track, yes—that is indeed a delay. Originally, the GBF open-world adventure was ??set to launch sometime this year, in 2023. The new date's trailer also showed off a few of Cygames' extra goodies, including a Deluxe and Collector's Edition. The beefier of the two includes a Pr??oto Bahamut statue.

So far, Cygames has confirmed several familiar faces from its gacha hit for Relink. We've seen series hero Lyria and her bodyguard, Katalina. The swordswoman Narmaya, dragonslayer Siegfried, ghostly Ferry, and, of course, both designs for the mobile version's silent player avatar. As you adventure with old and new series companions, players can invite a friend along for the ride; the GBF action game?? supports up to four player??s for co-op.

It's been a long wait for folks eager to see some of their favorite 2D heroes get the full-fledged action RPG treatment. Relink's first announcement goes all the way back to 2016. That's back when we knew it as "Project Re: Link," instead. After some developer limbo, a period of silence, and a change in studio involvement, we're finally getting there. Back in May, Relink made another appearance at the PlayStation showcase wit?h it??s 2023 release window.

Pre-orders for the GBF RPG open on August 23, 2 am CEST. Granblue Fantasy: Relink laun??ches on PlayStation 4, Pl??ayStation 5, and PC via Steam next year.
