Musician Martyn Ware has taken to Twitter recently to air his frustration with Rockstar Games. The source of the Heaven 17 member's dismay is an offer he allegedly received from the acclaimed studio to put his song in Grand Theft Auto 6, which he refused.

Ware claims Rockstar contacted his publisher about the band's song "Temptation" possibly being used in the studio's upcoming title Grand Theft Auto 6. The offer was $7,500 for each of the three writers of? the song, which would serve as a buyout of the band's claim to royalties.

Ware learned the details of Ro??ckstar's offer in an email sent to him from his publisher. The musician wasn't impressed with the?? amount offered by Rockstar, and he was upset that accepting the money would lock him out of receiving any royalties due to the game's success. Martyn's publisher attempted to make a counter-offer of $75,000 up front or $7,500 with a royalty fee. However, the studio allegedly refused to negotiate.

Some Twitter users are claiming that the amount offered was a standard rate, going so far as to call Ware greedy. Others claimed the exposure and uptick in digital streams of "Temptation" would make up for the lack of royalties. Martyn responded to these claims by pointing out Grand Theft Auto V grossed $8,600,000,000 and ??that every one million streams of the song would net each writer around $1,000 each, concluding with a "?go fuck yourself."

Rockstar has yet to make an official sta?tement on the matter.

Following confirmation that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be launching in the fall of 2025, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has said the company is "highly confident" it will meet that target, while also setting some rather lofty expectations by calling the game "an experience that n??o one ??has seen before."

In a recent CNBC interview (spotted and shared by Twitter user Dyllie), Zelnick was asked ?about the decision-making behind choosing a release window.

"Well, there is slippage in the industry, and we're not immune from that," said Zelnick. "However, we narrowed the timing because we are ?highly confident in that timing."

He explained there are multiple elements; one of which is determined by how many bugs are in the game. While the team at Rockstar will obviously be aiming to minimize that amount by launch, Zelnick added, "In the case of an extraordinary title, for which there are extraordinary expe?ctations, it's not really about bugs. It's about creating an experience that no one has seen before, and Rockstar Games seeks perfection."

I don't doubt the team at Rockstar is working extremely hard on GTA 6, and it'll probably be a very good game. However, fan expectations already incredibly high for it (it's been over 10 years since Grand Theft Auto 5, after all), and suggesting GTA 6 won't be like any other video game feels like going overboard. It's bound to be technically impressive, but I can't imagine it'll be that much different from previous GTA games. If anything, if it's nothing like those games, that only risks upsetting long-time fans who are looking for a new GTA.

Zelnick's comments can arguably be written off as him simply generating hype and not meant to be taken at face value. However, Take-Two itself likely has the highest expectations of all for GTA 6. GTA 5 made $1 billion in just three days (via IGN) when it launched in 2013; is Take-Two expecting similar results? If anything, it may want even better results since GTA 6 i??s no doubt proving more expensive to make than its predecessor, but a lot has changed in the past decade. Game prices have gone up and not everyone's willing to drop $70 on a new releas??e, especially when everything else has been getting more expensive too.

As for that fall release date, Zelnick has acknowledged Take-Two isn't immune to "slippage," suggesting a delay isn't entirely out of the question. That said, Take-Two will probably avoid pushing GTA 6 back if it can, and only agree to a delay as a last resort. After all, given the fan expectations, GTA 6 does stand to make a lot of mon?ey and Take-Two will want that income ASAP. It's not going to want to wait till the game's?? 'perfect,' since such a goal is frankly unobtainable, or at the very least take up even more development time.

Ever since the highly-anticipated GTA 6 trailer debuted, fans have been waiting for another one. The first teaser left us with many questions, particularly about the two characters who were the focus of the reveal. Here's a rundown of what we know so far about Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer 2, including p??otential release dates and storyline speculations.

When will GTA 6 trailer 2 release?

Right now, GTA 6 trailer 2 doesn't have an official release date. However, based on the release ?patt?erns of previous debuts, some rumors are circulating. 

It was believed that Take-Two would announce a new trailer for GTA 6 during their May 2024 conference call. Unfortunately, no trailer was released, but we did get some insight into a more concrete release date. According to the report results, Grand Theft Auto VI will debut in the Fall of 2025.

Despite not getting a GTA 6 trailer 2 during the conference, we can still try to get an idea for a release from its predecessor. If we look at GTA 5, we can see that the two main trailers debuted a year apart. Therefore, a second trailer for GTA VI might not come until December 2024. It? may be released at an earlier date, but given Rockstar Games' track record, it will likely come out in the lat??ter half of the year.

GTA 6 trailer predictions

If we take a closer look at the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, we can see that a second one could take us in?? many different directions. It could provide more insight into the two characters we've seen so far, Lucia and her partner (rumored to be named Jason). Given that Lucia was the primary focus of the first trailer, it's possible that the second phase will shine the spotlight on her partner. 

GTA 6 trailer 2 will likely delve deeper into the game's narrative, which appears to draw inspiration from the infamous Bonnie and Clyde. The initial teaser showed Lucia and her partner in possession of a large sum of money, with the police hot on a suspect's trail. If GTA 6 follows the formula of its predecessor, heists will likely play a significant role in the storyline. We might also get a glimpse of th??e game's side characters and their dynamic in the upcoming trailer. 

In addition to the characters and narrative, more locations are expected to be revealed, taking us back to the Miami-inspired Vice City. This setting, known for its vibrant nightlife, beautiful beaches, and mobster escapades, has been a fan favorite since its first appearance in the series. The initial snippet already gave fans a sneak peek at a ton of visuals, and it's shaping up to be an incredibly eccentric area to explore. Leaks have suggested the Grand Theft Auto 6 m??ap will be absolutely massive, giving players the free range to wreak ev?en more havoc.  

GTA 6's gameplay details remain a tantalizing mystery, so the second trailer may&n??bsp;not fully revea??l this information. It will likely continue with cinematics, but one can't help but wonder about the actual gameplay. 

An official release date could also be possible with the next drop, as the game is currentl??y only slated for a Fall 2025 window. Again, this is wishful thinking, but it's not entirely impractical.

PC gamers were probably disheartened to learn that, much like all previous Rockstar games, Grand Theft Auto 6 would?? be arriving a little later on Windows. But according to a former Rockstar developer, the decision to go console-first mostly has to do with marketing.

According to former Rockstar developer Mike York (who's previously worked on GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 and discussed this in a YouTube video) the company always prioritizes "what sells."

"One of the main things I want to touch on is that the re??ason why a PC port comes later and not the first thing that comes out is because they want to prioritize what sells?," he explained. "Most of the time, especially in the past, PlayStation was the big seller. So what the developer would do is they would focus all their energy on making sure the PlayStation port and the PlayStation game worked really well.

"Then they would kind of port to the Xbox —usually they'd do it at the same time. When I was working over on GTA 5, for instance, we were concentrating on the PS3 and the Xbox at the time. But we were mainly pushing the PS3 to the limit because the PS3 was kind of ??better hardware at the time to use memory and different things."

Already breaking the record for the fastest trailer in any entertainment medium to rack up 100 million views, it's safe to assume that GTA 6 will be shattering the sales charts upon release in a way that will make its predecessor �the second best-selling video game of all time �look like a modest success.

If sales have h??istorically leaned towards consoles, then Rockstar might be more likely to focus on those platforms. While that might come off as callous to PC enthusiasts, Mike further explains that it's one of the reasons why Rockstar games are so polished, regardless of the platform.

Prioritizing platforms makes for a more convenient launch

That being said, there's a silver lining to this way of thinking. There have been some broken PC ports released this last year, like The Last of Us and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Rockstar taking some extra time to work on the PC version might ho??pefully avoid the same pitfall ?other companies ran into.

Besides, as York expl??ains it, this gives Rockstar the chance to really push the limits of its tech with the PC version. "For instance, they might go into a scene and go, 'Oh, we're on PC now, we have a little bit more memory, we can add some fog into here like we always wanted to, but it was too m??uch for the console.' They can do a lot of different things like adding more characters, they can populate better foliage."

Knowing PC gamers, they probably ap??preciate the gesture.

As of right now, the official GTA 6 trailer has been watched on YouTube more than 140 million times. It's become one of the most-watched video game announcements of all time. Given that, it was inevitable that some would?? want a piece of that success by recreating their own ver?sions.

As spotted by PCGamesN, Instagram user evilgame_ytb has put their personal spin on the GTA 6 teaser by giving it the Minecraft treatment. The reel uploaded to their profile shows the blocky rec??reation of Rockstar's trailer, complete with t??he Tom Petty soundtrack.

In fact, if you search "GTA 6 trailer in Minecraft" on YouTube, you'll see more than one example. Here's one from Alex & Steve Animation. It's not a shot-for-shot remake, but it's got wide shots of the beach and even features some of the dialogue audio. Of course, Petty?? crops up again to really sell the illusion.

And one done in Los Santos

Other games have been used for a different take on the trailer. Here's one from the channel GTA BELGIUM (as noted by DSO Gaming), which recreates GTA 6 in GTA 5. It even opens with a joke by playing the ope?ning to Genesis' "That's All" track before a record scratch and then Tom Petty kicks i??n.

It follows the same vibe as the official trailer: a glimpse at some of the main characters, establishing shots of the beach and surrounding city life. Except it's in Grand Theft Auto 5. Then ??it ends with another joke??, insinuating there's an "expanded and enhanced" version of the game coming to "PlayStation 6" in 2030.

All we're missing now is a Skyrim remix. Or maybe one done in Garry's Mod.

With the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer out in the world, we got our first glimpse at Leonida and Vice City. Now, many have found loads of similarities to its real-life coun??terp??art: Florida.

The trailer came out earlier than expected due to an unfortunate leak. Regardless, the graphics and world made the 10-year wait for a new Grand Theft Auto worth it for fans. With that, we are returning to a familiar location: Vice? City. However, it's just a small part of the bigger map of Leonida.

Yes, you can probably tell it's a clear reference to the real-life Florida. The references to the state don't end at the name, as many crazy scenes in the tr??ailer actually happened.

So, in honor of Grand Theft Auto VI's dive into Florida culture, I will go over the many references to crazy real-life events Rockstar has in the trailer. ?For the article, and your sanity, I will use the pictures from the trailer, not real life. You can thank me later.

That Huge Gator in the Pool

It's not uncommon for wildlife to end up in your pool. There might be the odd frog or perhaps a snake, but rarely. Well, in Florida, and in GTA's Leonida, alligators are known to take dips in your local watering hole. FOX News reported in 2022 that one family had an almost 11-foot, 550-pound alligator in their pool. It took three police officers to even get the reptile out! Funny enough, the excerpt in the trailer mimics the one used by the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office's Facebook post.

That Shopping Alligator

With the amount of gators in the trailer, I'm assuming we'll be playing one of these scaly fellas. They're already robbing stores! Or they just walked in looking for some 'fresh' sushi. Regardless, this specific event hasn't happened, as far as we know. However, in 2018 via ABC Action News, a drunk man brought a live alligator into a gas station for a beer run. Why? Just cause. The man was arrested and he claims he has no idea how or why he had an alligator with him. The??y just show up everywhere, I guess. Might as well let them joyride a car next, Rockstar.

That Car Twerker

Okay, not this type of joyride. Remember twerking? It seems it's alive and well in Leonida, as we see an individual going crazy on top of a moving vehicle. Believe it or not, this has happened on multiple occasions in Florida. In 2017, per the Miami New Times, one woman twerked on to?p of a moving vehicle in Miami.

That Nude Gardener

You're probably saying "Someone didn't actually water plants nude, right?" I'm here to inform you that, yes, someone did. Minus the thong. In September 2018, Tampa Bay Times reported that a Florida man repeatedly gardened 'au naturel' in public. One witness said they taught their children not to look at the naked man, which is a weird detail considering they could've c??alled the cops. There's a video out there of it but I, for one, am good to remain blissful in my obliviousness.

That Crazy Hammer Lady

I'm going to be honest: dual-wielding hammers is a sick weapon idea. As you can see, this Karen 'nails' it pretty well. There are a few hammer-related incidents in Florida, with the most recent involving an argument over rum. However, Grand Theft Auto VI seems to actually take inspiration from a viral video out of California. A video, per TMZ, shows a woman repeatedly hitting a car wit?h, you guessed it, two hammers. The owner of the damaged car was, ironically enough, in Miami during the incident, so it technically counts, right? 'Screw' it.

That Awkward Tatted-Up Criminal

If you have tattoos, that's rad. Inking your body is not for me, but I support you if you want to get tatted out. However, do be wary if they are fully visible, as you might be the center of attention. This seemingly poor soul in the trailer has the whole "Joker from the Suicide Squad" look going. Jury's still out if he rocks it. Anyway, the comparison with Batman's arch-nemesis isn't a coincidence. The criminal is based on a real-life Florida resident Lawrence Sullivan, also known as the Miami Joker. You can see why via a video on CBS News. Needless to say, it ??put a smile on this writer's face.

Two days in and the GTA 6 trailer is nearly at 120 million views on YouTube. It's become one of the most-watched video game trailers in history, but it's not just benefitting Rockstar. It's? also seeing a revival of a music legend.

According to data sent to the BBC by Spotify, the recent GTA 6 reveal has seen interest in the ??late rock musician Tom Petty soar, thanks to ??his song "Love Is A Long Road" being featured in the teaser. Streams for the track �first released in 1989 �have increased by 36,979%.

Yes, I had to do a double take as well, because that's a comma, not a period. Nearly a 37,000% uptick in one song's popularity is insane, but given the hype around the upcoming Grand Theft Auto entry, it's perhaps not too surprising.

Rock never dies

After ten years of waiting, Rockstar finally gave us a taste of things to come in GTA 6. Sadly, we still have a bit longer to wait until it releases, as it's only due to come out in 2025. We don't? even have? an exact date. All we know is it'll be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No word on when PC will get it, though.

With Tom Petty's song being given a new lease on life, it calls into question what other tracks will be in the game itself. As a series, Grand Theft Auto is known for its soundtrack, featuring a slew of class??ics from many artists?? and bands.

On a personal note: it absolutely blew my mind when I first heard Slayer's "Raining Blood" on Vice City's V-Rock station. Ah, good times.

While it was unveiled a little earlier than planned, this has only made it possible for even more people to watch?? it many, many times.

At the time of writing, over 70 million people have seen the GTA 6 trailer over on YouTube. By comparison, "Baby Shark" has amassed around 13 billion views at the time of this writing, so GTA still has some way to go, but we're only on day one so far. Oh, also, the Grand Theft Auto 5 trailer has been viewed 98 million times, so it sound????s like the new one could easily surpass it.

This number of people watching the trailer is going up at a pretty alarming rate, which is not entirely unsurprising. By now, many of you will have seen it, so you'll have your own thoughts on the upcoming new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series.

Sadly, we don't have a release date. All we know is that it's coming in 2025. That still feels like a long way off, especially for a game that people have been waiting about?? a decade for.

Also, no PC release confirmed yet

Parent company Take-Two Interactive also confirmed that GTA 6 will be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series. Nothing's been said about a PC version. If we're going off what happened with Grand Theft Auto 5, PC players might not get it for? another year or so after the console release.

The teaser itself wasn't actually supposed to release when it did. Due to leaks on social media, Rockstar decided to show the trailer early.

GTA 6 has already been the subject of hacks and leaks, so the fact that someone was able to get the trailer up before the official release time is not that surprising. Still, it doesn't seem to have harmed the Rockstar YouTu??be figures much. It could very well go down as the most watched video game trailer in history.

Does the moon predict the date of the next GTA 6 announcement?

According to the theory, Rockstar usually announces its games on a Tuesday. Right off the bat, the theory can be debunked, as the image claims that Red Dead Redemption 2 wa?s released on a Tuesday. This is false, as? October 26, 2018, fell on a Friday.

The image then claims that most GTA and RDR games are released in October. The final piece in the puzzle is a recent image posted by Rockstar on Twitter. It features a waning gibbous moon behind the Vinewood sign in GTA 5. We will happen to experience a waning gibbous moon on October 3, leading to the conclusion that a GTA 6 announcement is coming on this day.

Although amusing, this is definitely not a theory to put your money behind. Even without a GTA 6 announcement, October is set to be a massive month for gaming thanks to the release of several massive games, including Assassin's Creed: Mirage, Spider-Man 2, and Alan Wake 2, to name just a few.

GTA 6 has the honor of having stirred plenty of controversy without so much as an official image of the game released. Thanks to the colossal influence of the GTA franchise, GTA 6 is one of the most anticipated games of all time, and fans have been desperate to see what? Rockstar is working on.

Last year, we got to see a bit of the upcoming project through a historic leak. The consequences of the leak were massive both for Rockstar and the leaker. For Rockstar, developers had their work prematurely shown, and the studio had to divert its resources to plugging the leak. The leaker, who goes by the alias teapotuberhacker, was eventually caught, and they ??are facing legal ramificati?ons.

Although the game was still in rough shape when it was leaked, there was plenty to be learned regarding the studio's ideas for the game. Due to the size of the leak, you'd be forgiven for not knowing everything that it revealed. The great GTA 6 leak of 2022

Back in September 2022, Rockstar confirmed there'd been a leak in which a ton of early GTA 6 footage had been made public, showing everyone the early look at one of the most anticipated games in years??. An alleged perpetrator was eventually ??caught. However, the hacker accused of the leak may not be standing trial.

In a report from Reuters, Arion K??urtaj—the 18-year-old who is believed to ?have hacked a number of big companies—has been declared "not fit to stand trial," after being assessed by psychiatrists. The report goes on to say that the jury will determine whether he committed the acts alleged, rather than determine whether he is guilty or not guilty.

Alongside the GTA 6 leak, Kurtaj has been accused of 12 offenses. He's also been accused, along with an unnamed 17-year-old, of blackmailing BT, one of the UK's biggest internet providers. The 17-year-old will be standing trial on two counts of blackmail, two counts of fraud, and three charges under the UK's Computer Misuse Act.

Rockstar needed to plug this leak

When the news that GTA 6 footage had been leaked, Rockstar issued a message on social media. The post said that the company had "suffered a network intrusion," at the han?ds of an "unauthorized third party", which "illegally accessed and downloaded co??nfidential information from our systems."

Many immediately had access to plenty of footage from an early development build of Grand Theft Auto 6. As huge as the leak was for both Rockstar and parent company Take-Two Interactive, it didn't deter the studio, which is still working on the anticipated GTA 5 follow-up. The accused hacker was arrested not long after the le?ak, but pleaded not guilty at the time.

Publisher targeting an unprecedented $8 billion in revenue

Take-Two Interactive, the parent publisher behind Rockstar Games and the Grand Theft Auto franchise, has announced that it is preparing for what it believed will be a record-shattering fiscal year 2025. The comments were made by CEO Strauss Zelnick in the company's newest financial report.

"Fiscal 2025 is a highly anticipated year for our company. For the last several years, we have been preparing our business to release an incre?dibly robust pipeline of projects that we believe will take our company to even greater levels of s??uccess," said Zelnick.

"In fiscal 2025, we expect to enter this new era by launching several groundbreaking titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry and enable us to achieve over $8 bi??llion in net bookings and over $1 billion in adjusted unrestricted operating cash flow. We expect to sustain this momentum by delivering addition??al growth in our operating results in fiscal 2026 and beyond."

Considering the obscene amount of money referenced, as well as the supreme confidence delivered in the statement, one can only assume that the fiscal year 2024, (This period denotes the calendar year running from April 2024 to March 2025), will see the studio launch Grand Theft Auto VI, the latest release in a franchise that leave??s almost every other gaming franchis?e in existence kicking in the dust when in comes to both immediate and long term revenue.

When pressed as to whether this number essentially guaranteed the release window for GTA VI, Zelnick was non-commital, but it seems almost impossible for the "industry standard setting" revenue of $8 billion to be reached without some sort of major, and that's major, release. Grand Theft Auto V, a title th??at is now? a decade old, continues to move copies, and currently sits at the 180 million sales mark.

Rockstar and Coffee Stain buttin' heads

Coffee Stain Games has been forced to pull a new ad for its upcoming sequel Goat Simulator 3 after Rockstar Games took umbrage to its use of the leaked Grand Theft Auto (GTA) VI development footage.

The commercial saw the supposed four-legged hero of the physics-sim sequel, Shaun, discussing the preparation it takes to really deliver the goods as the premier star of the Goat Simulator series. As we see Shaun practicing his very finest ragdoll efforts, he tells us that he has been keeping busy between games �cutting to a montage of Shaun in action, which includes a clip of the controversial GTA VI dev footage, leaked earlier this year.

While this is not the first time the Goat Simulator crew has referenced another developer for satirica?l fun, Rockstar Games �as billion-dollar companies are wont to do �clearly didn't see the funny side. The ad in question has since been pulled from all official outlets, with even reuploads posted to Twitter and other social media sites by members of the public being shut down as quickly as they appear.

Rockstar Games is still shining from the theft and broadcast of the (clearly very, very early) development footage. The videos were allegedly stolen in September directly from the company's own Slack channels by a 17-year-old hacker, who, is it also claimed, had planned to extort the publisher, but instead found himself in the bad books and black vans of ??the feds. The suspect is expected to appear in a high court at a later date.

The cat was out of the bag this past weekend with a massive GTA 6 leak, featuring multiple videos and screenshots. While it looked very authentic in many ways, you can never be too careful now with incredibly good-looking fakes.

With that in mind, Rockstar got ahead of the situa?tion and just confi??rmed it for us.

Rockstar confirms the GTA 6 leak on Twitter

Here's the full ??st??atement, straight from the official Rockstar Games Twitter account, cited as "The Rockstar Games Team":

"We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto. At this time, we do not anticipate any disruption to our live game services, nor any long-term effects on the development of our ongoing projects. We are extremely disappointed to have any details of our next game shared with you all in this way. Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned, and we remain as committed as ever to delivering an experience to you, our players, that truly excee??ds your expectat?ions. Not much has changed, back to business as usual

As the statement intimates, the team (after likely having a weekend of panic) will go back to work, and continue to develop GTA 6 with their heads down. Although we do likely know about the "Bonnie and Clyde" framework and the location of the ga?me (which is seemingly a return to Vice City), most of the other inner workings are still under wraps (plus, this footage was clearly taken from an early development stage). In other words, there's still plenty of opportunity for bigger, slicker reveals.

Given that it's been over nine years now (as of this past week) since Grand Theft Auto V was released, folks are definitely itching for more ??info. As with everything Rockstar, it'll come when it comes.

Vice, Vice, Baby

A mysterious leak has surfaced online, claiming to showcase development footage, screenshots, and plot details pertaining to Rockstar Games' upcoming sequel Grand Theft Auto 6 �the assets were uploaded to popular GTA 6 community GTA Forums overnight.

The videos, all of which have since been removed from YouTube, included footage of unfinished player characters and NPCs traversing a strip club, using an intercity metro train, and robbing a fast food restaurant, Pumpkin and Honey Bunny style. This footage (assuming that it's legitimate) would validate earlier reports that the GTA 6 narrative will foc??us on "Bonnie and ??Clyde"-style dual protagonists.

In total, around 90 video clips (mostly only seconds long) were archived in the leak, with some builds dating back to 2019/2020, suggesting that this was very, very early footage, in no way close to being reflective of th???e eventual magnum opus.

All of the clips seemingly take place in Vice City, the locale of GTA's stellar 2002 iteration. Again, this has previously been reported as the setting for Grand Theft Auto 6. While none of the footage, screens, or details have been officially confirmed as legitimate (of course), it has to be said that if it is fake, then someone has gone to r??eally ridiculous lengths in order to put it together... but then, they would, wouldn't they?

Regardless of the leak's authenticity, the fact remains that GTA 6 is still a long way from laying down skidmarks on your living room carpet. Frequent industry spoiler Tom Henderson has already stated previously that they do not expect Rockstar to release the sequel until late 2024 at the absolute earliest. Frankly, they have all the time in the world. Given that GTA V is not only the second-best-selling video game of all time, but is still raking in mucho dollarydoos thanks to its multiplayer element, GTA Online. GTA 6 is highly likely to see the same level of stupendous success whenever it shows its ski-masked fac??e.

Company culture at Rockstar has also been changing

Grand Theft Auto 6 could see a female protagonist at the lead. A new report from Bloomberg drops several details on the upcoming GTA, alongside a general shift in?? Rockstar's culture.

According to people familiar with the game who spoke with Bloomberg, the next Grand Theft Auto will have a playable female protagonist. She'll be Latina, and part of a pair of lead??s in a Bonnie and Clyde-style story.

It's also planning to grow over time, it seems. Original plans for Grand Theft Auto 6 called for large swaths of both North and South America. But Rock?star has reportedly pulle?d back a bit, and cut the map down to a fictional version of Miami and the surrounding area.

The expanse won't end there, though. According to Bloomberg, Rockstar plans to continually update the new GTA over time. This includes adding new missions and cities on a regular basis, in hopes of reducing crunch in the final months. The world will still be large though, reportedly containing more interior locations than previous Grand Theft Auto entries.

A new Rockstar

As Bloomberg's report details, this seems like part of a larger shift at Rockstar to address reports of crunch and hard work hours. Rockstar's Dan Houser had to walk back comments on Red Dead Redemption 2's hours. And Rockstar's had reports of rough working conditions stretching back quite a few years.

Th??ings seem to have changed, though. One employee described modern Rockstar to Bloomberg as a "boys' club transformed into a real company." Morale is reportedly higher than ever across? the company. More producers have reportedly been added to track schedules and avoid overtime.

Development may be stretching out a bit longer for the next Grand Theft Auto, though. Those who spoke to Bloomberg didn't know of an expected date for Grand Theft Auto 6 and said they expect the game is at least two years away. But with the success of GTA Online and the continued popularity of Grand Theft Auto V, the extra time?? seems like it could be a good thing all around.
