Once again you’ll want to invest this after you’ve sold your stock that you invested before you begin The Multi-Target Assassination, which is Debonaire. Once the mission is completed, invest in Redwood on the LCN. This stock is the most important since you’ll get the most return for your work. If you’re going to invest in only one stock, mak??e it Redwood Cigarettes.

7. Façade

B??uy into Façade after you complete The Vice Assassination. For this stock, you will want to invest on the BAWSAQ exchange for the best return.

8. Vapid

The final ?st?ock you’ll want to invest in to make money is Vapid. Put your money into this stock on the BAWSAQ after you’ve completed The Bus Assassination to get the most money in return.

When should you sell your stock in GTA 5?

When you should se??ll your stock is dependent on which stock you invested in, between the LCN?? and BAWSAQ. Here’s what you need to know about both:

• LCN: This stock will peak in value a day after you complete the assassination mission or 24 in-game hours. Now, all that's left is to register yourself as the CEO, a process that changed a bit with the release of the San Andreas Mercenaries DLC. Rockstar is no stranger to leaks, and it seems the company can't even catch a break during ?the holiday season.

It has been reported that GTA 5's source code has been leaked. According to @GTAFocal, an account that follows all Grand Theft Auto-related news, the contents of the leak aren't new and originated from the massive 2022 GTA 6 leaks. However, until this point, the data had been shared among private groups alo??ne.

Though some have been brazen enough to post the content on Twitter, Take-Two Interactive is taking down links leading to the leaks. This isn't the first time Rockstar has suffered a leak this year, and just a few weeks ago, we had the GTA 6 trailer showing up before Rockstar i???ntended to debut it.

While it might be tempting to have a peek behind the curtains to see what's going on with the GTA developers, it isn't the wisest idea to provoke a company that has shown itself to be willing to use the full might of the law to protect its IPs. The teen behind the infamous GTA 6 leak in 2022 was deemed unfit to stand trial and has since been given an indefinite hospital order.

With a confirmed 2025 release date, it won't be long before we get more information on GTA 6 from official sources. As the reveal trailer has shown us, the upcoming crime game will be taking us to the state of Leonida which is "home to the? ne??on-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond."

With the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer announcement being made recently, all eyes are once again on Rockstar's behemoth franchise. Not that eyes were ever truly off it. GTA 5 is still doing phenomenally well, as outlined in Take-Two Interactive's recen??t figures.

According to conference call notes uploaded a couple of days ago, Grand Theft Auto 5 has now sold approximately 190 million units since it launched in 2013. Compare this to November 2022's prepared remarks �when it had sold 170 million �and it's obvious the game is st??ill selling in droves.

At this rate, it could well fly past the 200 million mark, maintaining its stance as the second highest-selling game after Minecraft (which recently hit 300 million).

Better be worth the wait

GTA 6 is still pretty elusive. Aside from the leak in 2022, we really don't know much about the hugely anticipated follow-up. Rockstar has promised the first officia??l trailer in December, so at least we have that to look forward to.

It's a tall order to be the next big thing after Grand Theft Auto 5, but after y??ears of speculations, leaks, ??and the collective will of gamers everywhere, the world is finally ready for the next installment.

It's tempting to say that once the sixth game comes out, sales of GTA 5 may slow down significantly. Ho??wever, Rockstar's not above rehashing some of its older (and more luc??rative) titles, so who knows what the studio has planned for the game. There's still some milking to be done for that proverbial cash cow.

Twitter user @GTAVInewz recently posted an image presenting a theory which claims we're going to get more GTA 6 news soon. With over half a million views a??lready, it's caught quite a lot of people's?? attention despite presenting easily irrefutable claims.

Does the moon predict the date of the next GTA 6 announcement?

According to the theory, Rockstar usually announces its games on a Tuesday. Right off the bat, the theory can be debunked, as the image claims that Red Dead Redemption 2 was released on a Tuesday. This is false, as ?October 26, 201?8, fell on a Friday.

The image then claims that most GTA and RDR games are released in October. The final piece in the puzzle is a recent image posted by Rockstar on Twitter. It features a waning gibbous moon behind the Vinewood sign in GTA 5. We will happen to experience a waning gibbous moon on October 3, leading to the conclusion that a GTA 6 announcement is coming on this day.

Although amusing, this is definitely not a theory to put your money behind. Even without a GTA 6 announcement, October is set to be a massive month for gaming thanks to the release of several massive games, including Assassin's Creed: Mirage, Spider-Man 2, and Alan Wake 2, to name just a few.

Who wants to fight back the dinosaurs?

It's that time again: The list of games being added to Xbox Game Pass for July has been revealed. There are only a few new titles being added to the game pass this time around, but it includes a couple of day one releases. As is tradition with Xbox Game Pass, this list focuses on the first half of the month. The second wave of games for Jul??y will probably be revealed in a couple of weeks.

According to the post, the highlight for July is the return of Grand Theft Auto V. Unfortunately only the console version is being added to the pass, but it does include both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions. Grand Theft Auto V is a big open-world game so it's always nice to have access to a game?? with so much content.

There are two day-one releases included in this month's pass. First is Capcom's online game Exoprimal. The team-based action game blends PvE and PvP as players battle dinosaurs and each other while piloting powerful exosuits. The second day one release is first-person automation game Technotica. Play alone or in co-op as you master automation, gather resources, and research new technologies to build your base. The game reminds me a lot of Factorio and Satisfactory and looks promising.

Publisher targeting an unprecedented $8 billion in revenue

Take-Two Interactive, the parent publisher behind Rockstar Games and the Grand Theft Auto franchise, has announced that it is preparing for what it believed will be a record-shattering fiscal year 2025. The comments were made by CEO Strauss Zelnick in the company's newest financial report.

"Fiscal 2025 is a highly anticipated year for our company. For the last several years, we have been preparing our business to release an incredib?ly robust pipeli?ne of projects that we believe will take our company to even greater levels of success," said Zelnick.

"In fiscal 2025, we expect to enter this new era by launching several groundbreaking titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry and enable us to achieve over $8 billion in net bookings and over $1 billion in ad??justed unrestricted operating cash flow. We expect to sustain this momentum by delivering ad?ditional growth in our operating results in fiscal 2026 and beyond."

Considering the obscene amount of money referenced, as well as the supreme confidence delivered in the statement, one can only assume that the fiscal year 2024, (This period denotes the calendar year running from April 2024 to March 2025), will see the studio launch Grand Theft Auto VI, the latest release in a franchise that lea?ves almost every other gaming franchise in existence kicking in the dust when in comes to both immediate and long term revenue.

When pressed as to whether this number essentially guaranteed the release window for GTA VI, Zelnick was non-commital, but it seems almost impossible for the "industry standard setting" revenue of $8 billion to be reached without some sort of major, and that's major, release. Grand Theft Auto V, a? title that is now a decade old, continues to move copies, and currently sits at the 180 million sales mark.

The money makers

Video games are a pretty darn profitable industry. As it turns out, a lot of people are willing to pay a lot of money to press little buttons. But only a select few button-pressing facilitators can claim to have made the most money. And on?ly an even more select few can claim to actually be good.

High sales don't always translate into high quality. That's not a secret �there's a reason the fine folks at the British Film Institute don't factor box office take into the Sight & Sound poll (I like Avengers: Endgame, but it's not standing side-by-side with 2001: A Space Odyssey). Still, the Top 10 best-selling games in history? have? turned a lot of copies, and there's got to be some reason they connect with so many players.

So let's look at that Top 10 list and see which of these games are worth playing, and which are collecting dust on many millions of shelves. Before we get started, I'd like to clarify �there are a lot of different metrics by which one can measure the "best-selling games of all time," but for the purposes of this ranking, I'll be borrowing IGN's rigorously maintained top 10 list and backlinking to original sources.

10. Overwatch

Per Bloomberg, Blizzard Entertainment's hero shooter Overwatch sold somewhere around 50 mill??ion units during its time on the market. By IGN's estimation, that makes it the seventh highest-selling game of all time. It's also tough to recommend, given that you can't actually play it right?? now.

Overwatch might be a little higher on this list if it was still playable. Unfortunately, it's been replaced by a free-to-play sequel, Overwatch 2. While the second game isn't dramatically different from the first, most of the changes made to the formula have made the game less entertaining. Pay-to-win battle pass progression, heroes locked behind heavy grinding, a team comp overhaul that feels more like a downgrade, making Overwatch 2, in its current state, less than pleasant.

9. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

According to The Verge, PUBG sold about 75 million units before going free-to-play, making it the fifth best-selling game ever. There's a good reason for that: when it came out, PUBG was a bit of a revelation. There had been battle royale mods and modes for various other games before, but a game designed from the ground up with 100-person death matches in mind was an uncommon sight. And PUBG was a solid first foray into a budding genre.

In 2023, you can't toss a twig without hitting a battle royale. They aren't all as good as PUBG, but, well, free-to-play PUBG isn't quite as good as 2017 PUBG either. If you really want to play a battle royale game, you're pretty spoiled for choice, and while PUBG isn't the worst option, it is a bit stale.

8. Grand Theft Auto V

Publisher Take-Two Interactive says Grand Theft Auto V has sold more than 170 million copies as of September 2022. That's a pretty hefty figure, one that makes it the third third-highest seller in the medium. To be completely fair, though, it's not like GTA fans are spoiled for choice. There hasn't been a fully new GTA game in nearly a decade, and Rockstar just keeps porting GTA V.

The game is solid! It's a Grand Theft Auto game. It's a pretty incremental series, and the incremental improvements made in V are good. The writing is decent (if a little cynical for my taste), the open world is fairly compelling, and the primal joy of ramming cars into civilians has remained potent for many years. But, well... it's not really special at this point. Once again, we've seen an awful lot of great open-world games in the last nine years, and GTA V is getting a little long in the tooth.

Let's hope the next game is worth t??he long, long wait.

7. Pokémon Red/Green(/Yellow/Blue)

The Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA), a Japanese publication that tracks the games industry, claims that the four original releases of the first Pokémon generation have sold somewhere around 45 million units, and Nintendo says we can add 1.5 million units to that figure for the 3DS re-releases. That makes the original Pokémon the ninth highest-selling g??ame in history (even if it had to be four games to earn that spot).

I think most video game fans have at least a small soft spot for Pokémon, and the first generation is undeniably lovable. There are better JRPGs out there �hell, there are better Pokémon games out there �but you can't discount t?he raw charm of the classics.

6. Super Mario Bros.

Turning once more to CESA's 2021 White Papers, Super Mario Bros. has reportedly sold around 48 million units across various platforms. That makes it the eighth best-selling game of all time. It's an undeniable pl?atforming classic, genre-defining title that s??omehow still feels fresh.

When a game has been so foundational to a genre, going back to it can feel like visiting a museum �it's interesting, sure, but there's other, more fun stuff you could do. That's not the case with Super Mario Bros. The game may have laid the groundwork for 2D platformers to come, but it also mastered its own mechanics, with level layouts that are still fun and clever nearly 40 ??years later.

5. Wii Sports

Wii Sports was bundled with the Nintendo Wii at launch in all territories except Japan, which certainly helps its incredible Nintendo-reported 82.9 million unit sales. That figure makes it the fourth highest-selling game of all time. Honestly, though, I have a feeling that even without the pack-in numbers, Wii Sports could've made this list.

There's simply no better proof-of-concept for the Wii than Wii Sports. Every included sport demonstrates a different use for the Wiimote, and while no other game really found the same level of versatility in the device, Wii Sports was a shining reminder of what motion controls co??uld be. It was the perfect pack-in game, yes, but it was also an excellent game in its own right.

4. Minecraft

The first time I played Minecraft, I probably wouldn't have guessed that it was fated to become the second highest-selling game of all time. And yet, according to Microsoft, this unassuming survival sandbox turned proto-Metaverse has sold a staggering 238 million units.

In some ways, calling Minecraft one video game is a little unfair. In addition to having nearly two dozen editions across different platforms, it's also more of a host for games than anything else. The single-player survival mode is still a lot of fun, and creative mode is a good way to bang out some architectural concepts, but multiplayer ??servers and mods are where the real party is at.

There are so many different things that can be done with the foundations of Minecraft, and that ada??ptability is the game's greatest str??ength.

3. Mario Kart 8

Nintendo's financial reports put Mario Kart 8, across its two editions, at about 57 million uni?ts sold, making it the sixth highest-selling game of all time. It seems pretty staggering that a Wii U game, of all things, could climb so high in the rankings?, but I guess that's the power of the Nintendo Switch port.

Mario Kart rules. It's a simple fact of life that everyone on earth likes playing Mario Kart, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is pr?obably the best entry in the franchise, period. Tha??t's really all there is to say.

2. Red Dead Redemption 2

According to Take-Two Int?eractive's August 2022 fina?ncial report, Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold over 45 million units (not counting individual copies of Red Dead Online). That makes ?it the 10th highest-selling game o??f all time, but it's number two in the quality rankings.

Red Dead Redemption 2 can be slow, monotonous, and long, even by AAA game standards. But that meditative quiet is in service of one of the best narratives in high-budget gaming history. Red Dead Redemption 2 is ponderous and quiet, which has left it saddled with the descriptor of "boring" by folks who prefer their action a ?little hotter and heavier. Regardless, it's an uncommonly thoughtful game in a field often dominated by bright lights and flashing colors.

1. Tetris

Sometimes bright lights and flashing colors are good. Quickly, throw a stick somewhere in your room. Good money says you just hit a copy of Tetris. According to The Tetris Company, somewhere in the area of 520 million copies of Tetris have been sold, making it the highest-selli?ng video ??game in history. It might also be the single best video game in history.

Tetris is one of those concepts that just works. Trying to fit things together in a tight space is satisfying on a primal level, and Tetris is a masterful piece of design work. It's almost silly to praise Tetris. Because everyone already knows ??it's great. Because everyone has already bought it.

The GTA V crime trio leap onto another generation

Grand Theft Auto V's next-gen versions are due out this month, and Rockstar has laid out what to expect from the new iterations. In a blog update today, Rockstar dives into what features the next-gen console versions of Grand Theft Auto V will have.

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will support three graphics settings, depending on which areas players want to prioritize. Fidelity Mode supports 4K nativ??e resolution with ray tracing and 30 FPS on PS5 and Series X, while Xbox Series S uses upscaled 4K.

Performance Mode t??argets 60 FPS at an upscaled 4K for the two more powerful consoles, while Series S supports 1080p at 60 FPS. And both PS5 and Xbox Series X will have Performance ?RT, a hybrid of the two that targets 60 FPS with upscaled 4K and ray tracing.

Alongside the resolution and frame rate bumps, the next-gen versions of Grand Theft Auto V also have general improvements to visuals. A higher population and traffic?? variety, more flora, improved lighting and water reflections, better anti-aliasing, and more are part of the update. Also, as with most next-gen updates, faster load times.

The PlayStation 5 DualSense controller will also have some special hap?tic feedback options and Adaptive Trigger features. So yes, from explosions to the rumble of the road, it will feel like Los Santos is in the DualSense.

GTA Online is also getting its own standalone version on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. PS5 players will be able to get it for free for the first three months after launch. Rockstar also confirms that Story Mode progress can carry over to the next-gen versions, and characters in GTA Online are able to migrate as well. More details on the specifics are in the blog.

Rockstar confirms there is life after Grand Theft Auto V

The next-gen versions of Grand Theft Auto V are on the way, but Rockstar is also affirming there's more in GTA's future. Today, Rockstar confirms that the next Grand Theft Auto entry is in active development.

News comes at the footer of an update on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Grand Theft Auto V.

"With the unprecedented longevity of GTAV, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered—and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway."

More will be shared as it's ready. For now, it's just an acknowledgment. After enough years without a new Grand Theft Auto though, it'??s at least confirmation that Rockstar will eventually move on to a new entry.

Meanwhile, Grand Theft Auto V still rolls on strong. The modern console version of the PS3 and Xbox 360-era open-world game arrives on March 15, 2022. Story Mode progress carries over ?from previous generations too, as long a?s it's within the same console family.

The newer-gen version of Grand Theft Auto V will have up to 4K resolution, up to 60 frames per second, draw distance and texture upgrades, HDR options, and ray-tracing. Plus, there will be the faster loading times we've become accustomed to with this new console generation. Thinking back on the load-in times for the Xbox 360 version of GTA V, that sounds heavenly.

A standalone version of GTA Online will also be launching, available for free for the first three months to PS5 owners. So you can enter Los Santos alone or with pals. Between the everlasting GTA V and the game beyond it, sounds like there's a lot of heists and crimes in the futur?e.

Recover the stolen tracks in a new GTA Online story

The world of GTA Online is adding some more celebrity to the mix next week. A new story called The Contract see?s the return of Franklin Clinton, as well as a new adventure with Dr. Dre.

Announced today, The Contract will go live and free for all GTA Online players on Dec. 15, 2021. The GTA Online story will have players working with Franklin on his budding agency, which D?r. Dre enlists to recover stolen, unpublished tracks of his.

Alongside Franklin, other Grand Theft Auto V characters like La??mar and Chop the Dog seem set to appear. Alongside the story content, The Contract will also introduce a new radio station from "some very special guest hosts," as well a?s big updates to existing radio stations.

This incl????udes new, unreleased tracks from Dr. Dre and a lineup of artists. Additional opportunities for work will also be available, alongside new weapons, vehicles, and more to find.

The Contract seems like a pretty beefy addition. And it'll make for an interesting chunk of content to play when GTA Online arrives on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S next year.

Rockstar says there will be more updates to come on The Contract ahead of its launch in GTA Online on Dec. 15.

The standalone GTA Online will still be a timed freebie on PS5

Rockstar is taking some extra time to polish up Grand Theft Auto V's next-gen version. The studio announced today that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online are targeting March 2022.

The new versions of the game, expected to bring technical and graphical boosts to both GTA games, is taking a few ?additional months for fine-tuning.

While the wait will be a bit longer than initially expected, the plan is still to bring both over, and to still offer a standalone version of GTA Online for next-gen in March. And we got a little look at what's in store during today's PlayStation Showcase 2021:

GTA Online will also still be free to claim for PlayStation 5 owners during its first three months post-launch, once it goes live in March 2022. And PlayStation Plus owners can currently grab 1,000,000 GTA bucks every month on the PS4 version of GTA Online until the game launches on PS5 in March.

Though it's a push back from its earlier date, a little fine-tuning will hopefully make the Grand Theft Auto V experience all the sweeter on next-gen. I'm interested to see more of what's in store for the upgrade. But both the single-player Los Santos experience and its Online component have managed to stay pretty popular over the years, so it's safe to say it'll still make waves.

Publisher finally lives up to its name

Rockstar Games has entered into a business partnership with club promoter CircoLoco to found a new record label. Titled "CircoLoco Records", the label will aim to promote and grow dance music and its surrounding club culture, a culture which has unde??rstandably seen a significant decrease in both status and revenue during the global COVID-19 pandemic.

CircoLoco's first release, a compilation album titled Monday Dreamin', will feature a mash-up of some of CircoLoco'??s most popular musi?cians. The record will feature tracks from established stars such as DJ Moodyman, Dixon, Luciano, and Rampa, while also featuring cuts from up-and-coming acts Red Axes, Sama' Abdulhadi, and Lost Souls of Saturn & TOKiMONSTA.

If you want to check out some of the tracks ahead of time, then you can pick up the first of numerous EPs that are set to launch in the run-up to the record's eve??ntual release. The first EP will drop on June 4, and will feature tracks from Kerri Chandler, Seth Troxler, and Rampa. The remaining EP??s will be released on a weekly basis, up until Monday Dreamin's official launch on July 7.

The partnership is a snug deal for Rockstar, for which music has always been a key component in the fame (or infamy) of its releases. It's almost impossible to picture the Grand Theft Auto franchise making the grade without its brilliant licensed soundtracks and virtual nightclubs, while titles such as L.A. Noire and Red Dead Redemption put as much purchase on their own scores to defining the Rockstar vibes as the games' respective visuals, characters, sc??ript, or gameplay.

What's one more copy between friends?

Rockstar has announced a release date for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of what is arguably the company's magnum opus: Grand Theft Auto V. The open-world crime epic — now one of the greatest-selling video games of all time — w??ill bring its brand of mayhem to the next-gen platforms on November 11.

Originally released on September 17, 2013 for PS3 and Xbox 360, GTA V was an instant smash seller and has continued to shift copies in its ensuing seven years, with an estimated 140 million units on the market. GTA V tells the story of three very different hoodlums — Mi?chael Townley, Franklin Clinton, and Trevor Philips — whose paths cross in a spiraling story of chaos, betrayal, and violence, all viewed with the series' trademark satirical eye.

Alongside GTA V, November 11 will see the world of GTA Online open up to PS5 and Xb?ox Series X/S players. The MMO — which has been a cash cow for Rockstar for many years thanks to a slew of paid expansions and microtransactions — will offer PS5 users their first three months of mayhem free of charge, before resuming its typical paid subscription service in February 2022.

Finally, Rockstar hinted that there were some "fun surprises" in store for the 20th anniversary of one of the single most influential release of all-time: Grand Theft Auto III. It is hinted that these surprises pertain specifically to GTA Online so, for now at any rate, it probably isn't worth getting amped up for a full remaster/remake of?? the 2001 PS2/Xbox title.

Bleak Peak

It looks like Square Enix's wistful remaster NieR Replicant is getting set to brea??k a helluva lot of new hearts, as the updated RPG was the b?est-selling physical release in Britain last week, debuting at number one in the UK Charts.

It should be noted that existing within any post-apocalyptic universe is a step-up from living in present-day England, which may or may not have contributed to the fantasy adventure's sales. Despite hitting the top spot, NieR Replicant's launch sales are only 50% of the sales enjoyed by NieR: Automata back in 2017. Sti??ll, nice to see something a little different in the spotlight.

Elsewhere in the charts, Capcom's Monster Hunter Rise slipped out of the Top Ten for the first time since launch, while fellow Switch releases Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Ring Fit Adventure continue to enjoy week-on-week sales. People are still buying the console edition of CDPR's Cyberpunk 2077, which enjoys a second week back in the Top Ten.

Sega's latest entry in the Football Manager series - always a popular release in Blighty - joined the Top Ten at number eight. As a niche PC release, this should go some way toward demonstrating how quiet the UK's physical sales scene is right now. Both Sony's Returnal and Nintendo's New Pokemon Snap are going to just sashay right in come launch.

Next month will see the first anniversary of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. That's one whole year of Nook Island shenanigans. And the Nintendo Switch social sim has more than proven its staying? power, once again returning to th?e number one spot on the UK Charts.

Since launch, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has dallied in and around the Top Ten, returning to the number one spot on numerous occasions throughout its first year of release, with many players openly noting how its cheerful and social nature has helped lift spirits during this miserable COVID-19 times. Nintendo continues to add seasonal updates and events in its cute fantasy world, and with Festivale just around the corner, this ??looks set t??o continue into spring and beyond.

Elsewhere in the charts, there is little to report. IO Interactive's murderthon Hitman 3 has already dropped out of the Top Ten, having spent one week in the premier position, and now sits just outside at number 11. The rest of the Top Ten is rounded out by the steady physical sales of Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, FIFA 21, and Switch releases such as Ring Fit Adventure and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, bringing a stagnant end to ?a very quiet January.

It's been a while

The ripples of Grand Theft Auto V's 2013 release are still felt to this day.

GTA Online is going strong, but there's s?till a large fandom around the central characters in the campaign, particularly Franklin and Trevor. Well today, one of those actors is honoring that legacy with a real-l??ife recreation of a short, but memorable scene.

Folks may recall the character of Lamar, who ends up dishing out some tough truths to Fra?nklin; knocking him down a peg. Well he's back, in real-life form, as Lamar actor Slink Johnson has teamed up with?? the original Franklin (Solo Fonteno) for this clip below.

What is online may never die

[Update: Rockstar just put up a new trailer for the Cayo Perico Heist update,?? now du?e out on December 15, which you can watch below. It looks pretty slick, crazy, and distinctively GTA. Wouldn't it be great if GTA V proper got this sort of DLC?]

As long as Grand Theft Auto Online&n??bsp;has th??e population of a real-life city, Rockstar will continue to support and monetize it.

Years after the launch of the original the online component is still kicking; and regularly getting updates following a stalled rollout. Now, it's getting several big expansions each year, including this newest one called "Cayo Perico Heist." Rockstar calls it the "first major expansion of GTA Online's geography since l??aunch," and "sets the scene for the biggest update in the game's seven-year history." It's hitting on December 15 on ?all platforms.

But the heist isn't the only thing that's getting added in, and it may not even be the main draw. Quietly over the weekend Rockstar showcased more of the expansion's content, including a new club called the "Music Locker," which is seated beneath the Diamond Casino and Resort. In short, there's going to be a new dance floor, with real featured DJs (Blessed Madonna, Solomun, Dixon, DJs Moodymann, Keinemusik, Palms Trax, and Tale of Us are n??ame-dropped).

There's also a few mechanical upgrades coming that build upon the previous "After Hours" dance update from the game's past: like dancing with a partner and new dances in general. As a Second Life substitute, GTA Online can do the trick for a lot of people, with a large community?? and p??layer count to boot. It's amazing what it's accomplished so far, and what it continues to accomplish.

Last week saw the UK enter government-mandated lo?ckdown once again, as the nation severely struggles to subdue the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The lockdown led to a spike in video? game sales, as UK citizens prepared to spend several more weeks indoors.

Overall, the boost in physical purchases didn't make a world of difference to the UK Charts, which sees Electronic Arts' football simulator FIFA 21 retain the number one spot for a fifth consecutive week. Nintendo's Animal Crossing: New Horizons managed to clamber back up to number two, pushing out Ubisoft's open-world adventure Watch Dogs: Legion, which appears ??to have peaked - at least physically - afte?r just one week of release.

Animal Crossing is not the only Nintendo brand to appear in the Top Ten, as veteran entries Super Mario 8 Deluxe, Ring Fit Adventure, Super Mario 3D All-Stars all continue to shift copies on a week-by-week basis. Perhaps the only real news of note this week is the debut of L.O.L Surprise! Remix: We Rule the World, with the mega-popular gacha doll brand poking its wid?e-ass head into the premier league.

This is the final UK Chart listing of the current generation. While physical PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One titles will continue to sell way into the foreseeable future and beyond, the PS5 and Xbox Series X platforms are expected to raise the?? bar o??n digital purchases.

FIFA 21 retains the number one spot

Another very quiet release week has seen Electronic Arts' football simulator FIFA 21 retain the top spot o??f the UK Charts, despite a huge week-on-week drop in physical sales of around 50%.

A lack of major launches - along with the continued slump in physical sales across the board - results in a stagnant chart listing, which sees Square Enix's Marvel's Avengers, Take 2's Grand Theft Auto V, and Activision's Crash Bandicoot 4 jostle for position against a string of Nintendo Switch mainstays, including Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Ring Fit Adventure, and Super Mario 3D All-Stars.

Next month will most definitely switch things up, as the gaming industry launches an entirely new generation of hardware. Accompanying that will also be a run of major releases, including Ubisoft's Watch Dogs: Legion, Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and Nintendo's Pikmin 3 Switch port, among others.? With the holiday season approaching, the stage is set for ?a major chart shakeup.

Heist of the Century

Publisher Take-Two Interactive has released its financial report for the first quarter of the fiscal year, revealing blockbuster figures thanks to major catalogue contributors such as Red Dead Redemption 2, NBA 2K20, Borderlands 3, and The Outer Worlds.

But the crown jewel in Take-Two's vault remains Rockstar's 2013 magnum opus, Grand Theft Auto V. To date, the open-world crime sim has sold close to 135 million copies across the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC platforms. Amazingly, giving away GTA V for free on Epic Games Store in May 2020 only further increased base sales, as June would see the controversial title enjoy? its most successful sales month since launch.

Through sales and resales, in addition to the incredibly lucrative GTA Online multiplayer component, Grand Theft Auto V continues its reign as one of the most successful and best-selling video games of all-time. And it's not over yet. Given that Rockstar has already announced its intention to port this epic release to next-gen PS5 platform, GTA V looks set to print money for years to come.

Grand Theft Auto V is available now on PS4, PC and Xbox One. It will launch on PS5 ?in late 2021.

Tom Nook still shifting homes

Sucker Punch's mega-selling PS4 release Ghost of Tsushima has successfully retained the number one spot of the UK Charts. The open-world samurai epic has already broken global release records, selling 2.4 million copies worldwide in just the first thre?e days of release, thereby becoming the PS4's fastest-selling, first-part??y, original IP.

The other major release of this past fortnight - Nintendo's Paper Mario: The Origami King - currently resides at number four, having slipped two places from its launch week standing. Speaking of Nintendo, both Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Ring Fit Adventure saw a sales resurgence, allowing the two Switch titles to climb to number two and number 10 respectively.

With very little on the horizon in terms of big-budget, mainstream rele??ases, the UK Chart is likely to stagnate a little throughout August, with consistent sellers simply jo??ckeying for position until September brings about the dawn of the lucrative Holiday market.

Iron Man VR jets into second place

Naughty Dog's grim end-of-the-world adventure The Last of Us Part II has successfully retained the top spot of the UK Charts for the third week running, fending off the week's solitary physical release, Sony's Marvel's Iron Man VR, which made its debut at number two.

As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, the selling-off of discounted Nintendo 3DS stock continues at retailers across the U.K., which results in Square Enix' Bravely Second: End Layer nestled comfortably at number four, while Nintendo's Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer and Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash both re-entered the charts at numbers 13 and 34 respective??ly. Stra?nge days.

In regards to more modern releases, a sales spike has seen Animal Crossing: New Horizons climb to number three, while THQ's remake SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated dropp??e?d out of the upper echelon after just one week, ultimately resting at number 12.

As Britain is currently in the process of re-opening its high street once again, (despite science desperately advising the contrary), it will be interesting to see how the return of retail alters the status quo of the charts going forward. Needless to say, The Last of Us Part II is unlikely to feel any significant threat until the release of Sony's own Ghost of Tsushima on July 17.

There's a new gun in town

Naughty Dog's grim adventure The Last of Us Part II has debuted at number one in the UK Charts. More significantly, it is Sony's fastest selling PS4 release this generation, beating  previous record-holder Uncharted 4: A Thief's End's launch sales by a slim 1%.

As noted by GamesIndustry.biz, the hugely-anticipated sequel has taken sales by storm. Not only is The Last of Us Part II the UK's biggest physical release of the entire year, outselling Nintendo's Animal Crossing: New Horizons by 40%, but it is also up 76% on the launch sales of the original TLOU, which dropped on PS3 back in 2013. It's worth remembering that all of the above statistics count for physical sales only, so one can only imagine t?he numbers once you include global digital downloads.

Elsewhere in the charts, Nintendo's Ring Fit Adventure continues to sit snugly in the number two spot, while Pokemon Shield re-entered the Top 10 at number nine, thanks to the release of its recent expansion. Animal Crossing: New Horizons left the Top 10 for the first time since launch and now sits at number 12, while mainstays such as Take 2's Grand Theft Auto V, and Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare continue to h??old comfortable week-on-week positions.

For now, the day belongs to The Last of Us. It could be some time before it is unseated.

But will the softening of lockdown affect upcoming standings?

Believe it or not, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is back on top of the UK Charts. The 2017 Switch racer returned to the number?? one spot in a week that saw continued success for Nintendo, whose titles occupy over half of the current Top Ten.

Following Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is fitness software Ring Fit Adventure at number two, with social sim Animal Crossing: New Horizons still enjoying comfortable sales at number five. The Switch edition of Minecraft returns to the upper echelon at number seven, with Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics nestled at number nine and Luigi's Mansion 3 rounding out the Top Ten.

When not focused on Nintendo's wares, the Top Ten is filled out with regulars such as Electronic Arts' FIFA 20, Take 2's Grand Theft Auto V, and Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Microsoft's Forza Horizon 4 also re-entered at number eight. It's worth noting that - across the board - very few games in the Top Ten were released in 2020. This is less an indictment of the year's releases and more a reflection of the UK public's purchasing beh?aviour, which is more attuned to consistent sellers over new releases. The latter tend to see initial sales spikes before typically dropping off the map.

Many stores on England's high street are preparing to re-open today as lockdown legislation softens, despite the country's abject failure to contain the COVID-19/coronavirus pandemic. In regards to sales, it will be interesting to see whether the public's perception of daily shopping will chang??e, and how such change will affect the physical media charts.

FIFA 20 top of the league once again

Nintendo's Ring Fit Adventure has rocketed back up the UK charts following another retailer restock. The hard sweatin' Switch exerciser had a 1,160% sales boost, and came cartwheeling in at number two. Meanwhile, Electronic Arts' soccer sim FIFA 20 is once?? again back in the ??number one spot. Yes, again.

Outside of Nintendo land, Marvel's Spider-Man returned to the Top Ten at number ten thanks to Sony's ongoing Days of Play sale, while chart mainstays Grand Theft Auto V, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare continue to see comfor?table sales on a weekly basis.

Another relatively staid week in terms of physical releases has seen Animal Crossing: New Horizons retain its number one spot in the UK Charts. Isabelle and friends held off Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto V and Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare despite a slump in overall sales for Nintendo's?? social ??sim.

While last week saw a few new titles in the form of Coffee Stain's Huntdown and Platinum Games' The Wonderful 101: Remastered, neither game received a physical release, thus the Top Ten stayed relatively static. Long-termers Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Luigi's Mansion 3, and FIFA 20 are all present and correct.

Activision's Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy made yet another return to the Top Ten, as did Ubisoft's Just Dance 2020, which squeezed its way back in at number 10. Speaking of Ubisoft, end-of-days shooter The Division 2 saw a huge sales surge last week, returning to the Top 40 at number 20, and Sony's God of War also made a? bit of comeback, re-entering at number 31.

In a blink-and-you-missed-it tweet, Epic Game Store revealed that its next free game is none other than Rockstar's magnum opus, and one of the best-selling video games of all-time, Grand Theft Auto V.

The digital storefront announced the giveaway on Twitter, before swiftly rescinding the tweet. The internet moves fast, however, and bargain-hunter @Wario64 has already snapped the image for posterity. According to the original tweet, EGS will be giving away GTA V to all customers from today through May 21. Quite a coup considering the open-world crime sim's staying power, which has seen i??t sell an amazing 120 million copies since its 2013 launch.

In similarly rumoured news, Redditor Chandigarhian found evidence that CD Projekt RED's racy RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt might also be in line for the EGS free game treatment, having discovered an advert lurking within the storefront's database. Whether The Witcher 3 has been made a last-minute replacement for Grand Theft Auto V, or vice versa, remains to be seen. Either way, we?? will update you when Epic openly confirms its plans.

FIFA 20 back on top of the premier league

Having spent several weeks hovering around the penalty box, this week's UK Charts sees Electronic Arts' football sim FIFA 20 back at the number one spot,?? a position regularly retains on an ann??ual basis.

Making its debut in the Top Ten this week is Zombie Army 4: Dead War, developed and published by Britain's own Rebellion. The co-op shooter sits comfortably at number eight, not quite bothering Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, EA's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order or, of course, Take 2's Grand Theft Auto V, all of which remain nestled in the upp?er echelon.

Nintendo's Ring Fit Adventure - which made a re-entry last week at number seven - has climbed a further two places to settle at number five. The Switch release has seen a sales surge thanks to recent restock after many high street retailers sold out of the popular fitness app over the Holidays. 2K Games' NBA 2K20 has also returned to the Top Ten.

But Call of Duty: Modern Warfare recaptures the top spot

In a continually shuffling UK Chart, Activision's military shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has returned to the number one spot once again, followed by Electronic Arts' persistent sellers FIFA 20 and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has slipped from number one to number nine, signifying a peak for? Bandai Namco's ani??me adventure.

Elsewhere in the Top Ten, Nintendo maintains a steady flow of all of its major Switch releases, unencumbered by recent stock shortages of both consoles and games across the United Kingdom. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Luigi's Mansion 3 and Minecraft maintain their previous Top Ten status, but are also joined by re-entries Ring Fit Adventure and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
