One of the main parts of Hello Kitty Island Adventure is deepening your connections and friendships with the many Sanrio characters who inhabit Friendship Island alongside you. These friendships unlock quests?? and reward rare resources, but what happens when you become Best Friends?

Becoming Best Friends with a character happens when you reach maximum friendship with them. This could be at level 15, 20, or 25, depending on the character. Once you reach this point, they�??�ll stop?? giving you their basic resource return gifts and start giving Character Gift Boxes instead.

What are Character Gift Boxes in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Character Gift Boxes are, essentially, a lucky dip with rewards on offer specific to each character. While it is entirely poss??ible that you could get their usual resource offering, you could potentially get a rare item instead. 

T??here are three different sizes of Gift Boxes for each character. Which box you’ll be given directly corresponds to how many hearts the gift you gave has: 

• Small - Any one-heart gift
• Medium - Any two-heart gift
• Regular - Any three-heart gift

Once you receive a Character Gift Box of any size, it must be opened from within your inventory bef?ore you receive the rewards inside. 

How to get Character Hats in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

One of the main reasons to keep gifting characters three heart gifts after they’ve become your Best Friend is to get the individual Character ??Collectors Hats. The only way to get these is through Regular-sized Character Gift Boxes. 

It’s entirely down to chance and RNG whether you get a Character Hat from any of the Re??gular Gift Boxes, but there is a failsafe in place. If you get unlucky and open 100 Character Boxes from a single character without receiving their hat, you’re guaranteed to get it in the 101st box. 

All Character Gift Box rewards in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Each larger box will always have a chance to yield the items from the smaller version of it. For example, a Small Hello?? Kitty Gift Box can only possibly reward Tofu or Sand Dollars, t??he Medium adds three different Dyes into the mix, while the Regular size box only adds the Collector’s Hat. 

As such, I’m only going to note items that are unique to the larger-sized Gift Boxes??. Remember that a Regular ??Gift Box can possibly reward items included in the Small Gift Box column.

Friendship Island is filled with useful locations in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, allowing players to interact with the world around them and possibly get items or assistance to progress. The Recycling Plant is one such locati?on, and it ca?n offer various great rewards. 

The Recycling Plant can ??be found in Rainbow Reef, southeast of the Cozy Islands Mailbox and just off the shore of Cozy Island itself. It’s a giant flower with l??arge, flowing petals, and it serves a very unique purpose. 

How to unlock the Recycling Plant in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

The Recycling Plant is always there, and ??you can interact with it prior to unlocking it, although you’ll just be told that Keroppi probably knows more about it. To actually use the Plant, you’ll need to reach level 11 friendship with Hello Kitty, and then begin the “Reef Revival�?quest. 

You will also need to complete Keroppi’s level 1 quest (Finding Flippers) to unlock Flippers, and Kuromi’s level 6 quest “Deep Diving�?to unlock the Snorkel.

During “Reef Revival�? you’ll be ??instructed to place Trash into the Recycling Plant (shown above on the map). If you’ve been gathering bags of Trash since you began playing, it can be very tempting to put all of your Trash in at this point in the hopes of getting more rewards. I beg of you, please don’t do this!

Regardless of how many bags you put into the Recycling Plant during this tutorial, the game will only register the first 10. Any further Trash will be removed permanently from your inventory and lost forever, with no additional reward for your efforts. 

Once you’ve completed the tutorial, you’ll have f?ree access to the Recycling Plant and you can put the rest of your Trash into it, getting the rewards you’ve earned for picking it all up.&??nbsp;

How to use the Recycling Plant in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

You can use the Recycling Plant to turn unwanted items into diff??erent, more useful items. There are two types of items you can produce at the Recycling Plant. 

Turning Trash into treasure

Trash Bags spawn daily around Rainbow Reef, particularly in the area around the Comedy Club. Unlike other resource spawns in Island Adventure, Tr??ash will continuousl??y respawn every 2-3 minutes, allowing you to gather up a huge amount of it very quickly. 

Trash Bags can be placed in the Recycling Plant, and you'll have a chance to get either Coral Keys or Coral Spores. Coral Keys can then be used to open sea??shell-deco??rated chests, while Coral Spores can be planted on the rock beds around Rainbow Reef. 

Turning items into Dye Pouches

The other use for the Recycling Plant is to stoc??k up on Dye Pouches of every color. You’ll receive a different color Dye Pouch depending on what you put into the Recycling Plant. Some items can even result in different Dye colors, so there is an element of chance involved.

Every character in Island Adventure has their own preferred gifts, and each of them has one p?articular gift that will earn three hearts worth of friendship points, allowing you to level them up much faster. Here's how to get those gifts.

How to get all three heart gifts in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

These gifts are more challenging to procure t?han others, with some of them unlocking as part of quests or by reaching a certain friendship level with different c??haracters. Here’s every Friendship Island resident's three-heart gift, and how to get it. 

Note: You can make the Cooking Recipes, before you own the recipe, as long as y?ou know what to use to make?? the food. Crafting Plans will have to be unlocked before you can craft any of the three-heart gifts listed below.

It’s also possible that you can get any of these items from Gift Flowers (pink buds on the ground in all areas that can be opened by watering them once you’ve obtained the Watering Can), or the Crane Craze mini-game, which is found in Merry Meadow once you've grown three beanstalks and fully unlocked the area.

There are a lot of Cooking Stations in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, each of which requires a specific base ingredient that you'll need to gather before you can c??onsider using each station. O??ne of these stations, the Soda Machine, has a particularly elusive base ingredient �?Fizzy Crystals. 

Unlike every other Cooking Station, the Soda Machine’s Fizzy Crystals are not a basic resource. They are crafted using Fizzy Ore, which is a resource that can be gathered prett??y easily, as long as you know where to look. 

If you want to kn??ow how to get Fizzy Ore, or how to turn the ore in??to Fizzy Crystals, here’s everything you need to know.

How to get Fizzy Ore in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Fizzy Ore is a resource that can only be gathered in one specific location in Island Adventure, and you won’t be able to reach it on foot. Instead, you’ll need t??o hop into a minecart and grab it as you pass by. 

There are a couple of obstacles in this process. Firstly, you need to find?? the Crystal Caves, which are located in the middle-north of Gemstone Mountain and have multiple entrances. Secondly, once you’ve located the Crystal Caves and found your way inside, you need to figure out how to navigate them to find the entrance to the mine cart ride. 

The easiest way to do this is by using the entrance to the mines that’s ??found in the followin??g location:

Using this entrance allows direct access to the mine cart ride inside the Crystal Caves. All other entrances will subject you to the labyrinth that is the cave system, without access to the Mailbox system to get out again. 

If you do happen to wander in through a different entrance, here’s a map of the entire Crystal Cave s????ystem with mine cart entrances marked:

Either way, once you’re on the mine cart you’ll need to quickly grab the Fizzy Ore from floating shards beside the track as you pass, up to a total of 60 per day. You’ll also need to make sure to switch the track ?at certain intervals to ensure yo??u get everything you can from the ride. 

If you miss any and are booted from the ride prematurely, you can always go back and rid??e ag??ain as many times as you like. 

How to make Fizzy Crystals in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Now that you’ve got a supply of Fizzy Ore, it's time to turn them into Fizzy Crystals. The Crafting Plan for Fizzy Crystals unlocks as part of the “Dessert-ed Boat�?quest, which becomes available once?? you’ve reached level 4 friendship with Pompompurin.

This quest will also unlock the second Crafting Station ?in Gemstone Town, and your first ??job will be to turn Fizzy Ore that you’ve gathered into Fizzy Crystals. 

Each Fizzy Crystal is made using six Fizzy Ore, so you’ll be able to make a maximum of 10 Fizzy Crystals per day. Once you’ve got Fizzy Crystals, here are all the cooking recipes (including sodas) so you ?can start using that Soda Machine. Sodas make excellent gifts for Friendship Island’s many villagers.

Later on, once you’ve attracted a variety of temporary visitors to Friendship Island by decking out the different Cabins, Pekkle’s crush Ruby may come to visit. Talking to her each day will reward you with a small numb??er of Fizzy Crystals, too.

While exploring Friendship Island in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, y?ou’ll come across a f?ew secrets that, when picked up, spark quests. A few of these require you to return items to their original owners, although details of who those original owners are aren’t exactly forthcoming. 

One of these “Around the Island�?quests involves ??Echo Con?ch shells. There are a total of 10 to find hidden throughout the many locations of Friendship Island, and you’re given no more than a cryptic clue to help figure out who they belong to. 

Some are obvious just from ??their appearance, but others pose more of a challenge. Here’s where to find each Echo Conch, and who to return them back to. 

Spooky Swamp Echo Conches

There are two Echo conches to find in the Spo??oky Swamp, both of which are loca?ted pretty close together and, therefore, easy to gather up.

Green Echo Conch

The Green Echo Conch is likely to be one of the first you locate, and it can be found in the leaves of a tree close to Visitor Cabin #3 in the Spooky Swamp. This Echo Conch belongs to Keroppi.

Orange Echo Conch

Once you’ve picked up the Green Echo Conch, head north and locate the Orange one on the cliffs to the right of the entrance to the “Tricky Triangulation�?puzzle room. To complete this quest, return the Orange Echo Conch to Retsuko.

Rainbow Reef Echo Conches

There are a total of three Echo Conches to find within the watery confines of Rainbow Reef. The easiest way to gather t?hem up in one go is by traveling to the Comedy Club and then heading north to the Pink Echo Conch, then turning west to gather up the other two. 

It goes without saying that you’ll need to complete Keroppi's level 1 quest to get some Flippers and Kur?omi's level 6 quest to get a Snorkel before you can find any of these ??Echo Conches.

Pink Echo Conch

North of the Comedy Club, just inside the Kelp Maze, there are some columns of rock that extend upwards and out of the water. The Pink Echo Conch is on top of the first column you’ll get to if you’re coming from the Comedy Club, above the surface of the water. The rightful owner of the Pink Echo Conch is My Melody.

Yellow Echo Conch

Head west from where you found the Pink Echo Conch, and on the other side of the Kelp Maze, right on the seafloor, you’ll find the Yellow Echo Conch resting against the cliff edge. To complete this quest, return the Yellow Echo Conch to Pekkle.

White Echo Conch

Possibly one of the easiest Echo Conches to find, the White Echo Conch is located on top of the coral close to the Sunken Ship Mailbox. This Echo Conch belongs to Badtz-maru, so return ??it to him to complete this quest. 

Mount Hothead Echo Conches

Like Rainbow Reef, Mount Hothead also offers three Echo Conches to be found. To find all of them, you’ll need to reach at? least level 7 with Retsuko so that you can unlock higher levels of the volcano, although it may be possible to jump your way up the cliff side if you have the guts to try. 

Blue Echo Conch

The Blue Echo Conch is the highest up the volcano of the three Mount Hothead Conches and might be the last one you manage to locate. It can be found on a small shelf to the right side of Mount Hothead itself, close to the Caldera. Once found, return this Echo Conch to Chococat to complete the quest. 

Red Echo Conch

You’ll need both the Flippers and the Snorkel to find the Red Echo Conch because it’s located underwater between Mount Hothead and Gemstone Mountain. If you’ve already found the entrance to Merry Meadow, the Red Echo Conch is located in the water beneath. The rightful owner of this Conch is Hello Kitty. 

Brown Echo Conch

Once you’ve made it up to the first level of the volcano, where Retsuko usually appears on the map, you’ll be able to find the Brown Echo Conch. Use the Mailbox there, and keep heading to the left until you come to the stacked pools of lava at the end; the Brown Echo Conch will be there waiting for you. This Echo Conch belongs to Pompompurin.

Gemstone Mountain Echo Conches

To round up our total to a nice ro??und 10, there are two more Echo Conches available to find on Gemstone Mountain. These are both pretty easy to locate and at most,? you’ll only need Flippers to pick them both up. 

Sky Echo Conch

To find the Sky Echo Conch, you’ll need to travel to the far northeast of Gemstone Mountain until you locate the entrance to Icy Peak. To the right of this entrance, there’s a small pond, and the Sky Echo Conch is lying on the bottom. Once you’ve grabbed it, take it to Tuxedosam to complete the quest. 

Purple Echo Conch

The Purple Echo Conch is pretty easy to overlook if you’re not seeking it out, but it’s located in the middle of Gemstone Mountain behind Visitor Cabin #4. When you’ve grabbed this tenth and final Echo Conch, take it to Kuromi to complete the final Echo Conch quest in Island Adventure

• Like Chococat, Pochacco poses an issue when it comes to early gift-giving. He only has two gift options that will reward two FLUX. Sadly, both of them require you to upgrade their respective cooking stations, which takes a while for even the speediest of players, so the easiest gift to give him early on is basic Tofu.

Best early gift: Chai or Mocha

• Cinnamoroll has one hell of a sweet tooth, and she'll be ecstatic to accept any chocolate-based gift, so prior to reaching the Comedy Club and the Espresso Machine therein, Chocolate Coins are an easy gift for her. Once you've unlocked the ability to make hot drinks, though, Chai and Mocha are easy one-ingredient recipes.

• Retsuko is not an easy person to give gifts to. Like that person who has everything, she only wants the most infuriatingly specific items. Sadly, this means that in order to level her up, you're in it for the long haul. The most commonly found items that can be given to Retsuko until you unlock the ability to craft her two-heart gifts are Toasted Almonds and Magma Blooms.

Best early gift: Coconuts or Tropical Material

• The best thing to give Tuxedosam very early into a new game is Coconuts because they can be found in huge numbers. However, once you've found Pekkle and he has started to give you Feathers, you can use them to create Tropical Material, which is a two-heart gift for Tuxedosam.

Best early gift: Pineapple Pizza

• Thankfully, Badtz-maru's only two-heart gift is actually remarkably easy to make. Pineapples are readily available around Resort Plaza, and once you've made your way to Mount Hothead, you can use them at the Pizza Oven to make Pineapple Pizza for Badtz-maru.

• Once you've located Pekkle on Gemstone Mountain, there's a good chance that you've also found the mines in the north of that area. Unlike all of the other Cooking Stations in Island Adventure, the Cauldron cannot be upgraded. It’s used to make potions that can be used to buff different aspec??ts o?f gameplay. 

All recipes made using the Cauldron use Glow Berry as their base ingredient.

The Soda Machina can be found in Gemston??e Town and is unlocked once you complete the “Parched�?quest with Keroppi. Upgrading the Soda ??Machine happens once you reach level 6 with Pekkle, allowing you to make recipes with two additional ingredients. 

To make recipes at the Soda Machine, you’ll need to get Fizzy Crystals, as they are the main ingredient.

The Egg Pan Station can be unlocked once you’ve reached level 8 friendship with Pekkle and completed his “Rockadoodle Round Up�?quest. Upgrading the Egg Pan Station is more complicated than most Cooking Stations, as you’ll need to take 102 unique Gudetama photos, which requires you to unlock Merry Meadow in its entirety. Even if you manage to find Tophat Gudetama each week, he doesn't count towards this total.

The main ingredient at the Egg Pan Station is, unsurprisingly, Eggs.

Upgrading the Espresso Machine actually comes pretty early, and you’ll be able to use two additional ingredients once Hangyodon reache??s level 4.

There are a lot of seasonal events in Hello Kitty Island Adventure sprinkled thr??oughout the year, offering chances to get a sta??ggering number of items and rewards. February is the season of love, and the residents of Friendship Island like to get into the spirit of things. 

The Hugs & Hearts event is an annual celebra??tion of love, friendship, and all things heart-shaped. This year, the event is taking place between February 8 and February 22, with a chance for new players to get their hands on items for the first time and veterans to grab anything they might have missed. 

If you recently purchased the Deluxe edition of Island Adventure for PC or Switch, you’ll have these items waiting for you once you unlock?? the Deluxe Event Bundle in-game after you compl??ete the “Fish Noir�?and “Comic Relief�?quests.

How to take part in the Hugs and Hearts event in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

As soon as you open Island Adventure for the first time during the event's duration, Chococat will pull you to one side and tell you all about a new type of Critter that’s shown up. It’s called a?? L?ovebug, and it can be found around Resort Plaza. 

Lovebugs are little pink caterpillars, and you’ll need to equip your net a??nd try to track them down. You can capture one Lovebug per day during the event but don’t worry if the first one you see gets spooked. More will show up until you catch your daily allowance, allowing you multiple chances to capture the Critter. 

Once you’ve caught a Lovebug, you??’ll be able to place it in the Hugs & Hearts event stand, which is located between Pochacco’s usual spot and the beach. Placing a Lovebug into the event stand will turn it into a Chrysalis, and you’ll be able to select one reward per Lovebug you put into the building. 

Shortly?? before the event ends, the Lovebug Chrysalises will turn into Heartwings, which will flutter around the island until the end of the event. When the event finishes, Keroppi will give you one Heartwing as a keepsake of the event.

Event rewards and items can be obtained through a few different sources, and it can be hard t?o keep track of everything to make sure you get the full collection. To help, here’s everything broken down into individual sources.

Again, purchasing them is a pretty resource-heavy experience, and there’s no guarantee that any of these items will actually show up in your store during the event. There are a lot of Cooking Stations to unlock in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, each of which has a number of dedicated recipes that can be cooked. The Egg Pan Station is a Cooking Station that’s unlocked towards the later stages of a playthrough, and?? it’s definitely worth working towards.

Unlockin??g the Egg Pan Station is mostly done through Pekkle and a frus??trating search for Rockadoodles. To unlock it, you'll need to complete the following objectives:

• Find Pekkle and level up your friendship with him to level 8
• Complete the “Rockadoodle Round Up�?/li>

Once you’ve done that, a new Around the Island quest will appear called “An Egg-cellent Plan.�?Completing this qu??est will unlock the Egg Pan Station,? which you’ll find located close to the Rockadoodler Corral in Gemstone Mountain. 

How to upgrade the Egg Pan Station in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

The Egg Pan Station uses Eggs as its main ingredient. Once you unlock the Station itself, you’ll be able to?? add one additional ingredient to cook various recip?es. However, you’ll want to work towards upgrading the Egg Pan Station, because this unlocks the ability to add a second additional ingredient, so you can make even more recipes. 

Unfortunately, upgrading the Egg Pan Station can end up being pretty frustrating. While upgrading the other Cooking Stations in Island Adventure is almost completely done through leveling up friendships with villagers, the Egg Pan Station is different. 

To level up the Egg Pan Station, you’ll need to find and photograph 102 individual Gudetamas. The lazy egg can be found in various locations across the map, with 96 to find in the early-game areas and further ones to discover in the late-game, like Merry Meadow and Cloud Islands. Even if you find Tophat Gudetama each week, he doesn't count towards your total.

Once you’ve taken 102 Gudetama photos, interact with the Gudetama Boa??rd in Seaside Resort to upgrade the Egg Pan Station and unlock that precious second additional ingredient.

Cooking Stations in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Cooking Stations are, at least to begin w??ith, machines that can only be used in specific locations. Some of the Cooking Stations (such as the Oven and the Pizza Oven) can eventually be crafted and placed in visitor cabins, but you’re most likely to venture to their original locations. 

Here are all of the Cooking Stations currently available in Island Adventure on PC and Nintendo Swi??tch and how to unlock them:

Cooking Station upgrades

Each of the Cooking Stations (exce????pt the Cauldron) can be upgraded when certain requirements are met. This allows you to cook using two additional ingredients on top of the base ingredient for each Station, rather than just one, unlocking further recipes to cook.

Here’s how to upgrade each Cooking Station:

• Oven: Level 15 friendship with Hello Kitty
• Soda Machine: Level 6 friendship with Pekkle
• Dessert Machine: Level 13 friendship with Pompompurin

Once you’ve started to prepare and repair the Visitor Cabins in Hello Kitty Island adventure, you’ll open up a world of possibilities when it comes to additional Sanrio characters who can come along for a v?acation day. 

Getting visitors to your isl??and is often as simple as decorating a Cabin in a certain way, but some require more forethought. Milk, for instance, requires you to have befriended several other rare visitors, while other visitors will only appear at certain times. 

It's worth trying to get as many visitors to your island as possible, even if it means switching out the decor of each cabin between months, because each visitor will reward you with certain items in return for talking to them. On top of this, some visitors have the potential to unlock additional quests when they become five-star permanent residents, so befriending th??em all is worthwhile.

The most challenging of the time-fixed visitors are those who only visit during certain real-life seasons. Here are all of the season-locked visitors in Hello Kitty Island Adventure and how to lure them into coming to visit. 

What are the seasons in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

The seasons in Island Adventure follow the same rough d?ates as those in real life, but it can be hard to keep track of when each season is set to arrive or change. To make this easier, here’s where each month falls in terms of seasons:

Spring visitors in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

During the Spring season, there is only one island visitor wh??o is specific to Spring and they will show up as long as you’ve met their other requirements.. 

Macaron

Macaron is the love interest of Pompompurin, and she can pay a visit to your island at any time during Spring. If you talk to Macaron during a visit, she will give you a Pink Clouds Ice Cream. 

H??ere are the requirements for attracting Macaron as a visitor:

• Cabin must be placed in Gemstone Mountain to be close to Pompompurin
• Cabin must be decorated with five Hugs & Hearts items

  • Hugs & Hearts items can be obtained during the Hugs & Hearts event, which takes place during February each year

• A Sakura Pudding must be placed inside the Cabin

Macaron is required as? a five-star permanent resident if you ??want to unlock the following quests:

• "Sweets for the Sweetest"

Spring and Fall visitors in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Additionally during spring, but also during the Fall, there is one other Sanrio character who will make a w??eekl??y appearance. 

Nuts

Once a week during Spring and Fall, Nuts will make an appearance. Nuts is Cinnamoroll’s friend and brother to Cappuccino and Coco. When you talk to Nuts during a visit, he will give you a Coconut. 

H?ere’s everything you need to do if you want Nuts to vi?sit:

• Cabin must have three pieces of Kawaii furniture
• The following items must be present in the Cabin:

  • Coconut
  • Toasted Almond

You'll nee?d to befriend Nuts ?(and his brother Coco) if you want to unlock the following quests:

Summer and Winter visitors in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Unlike the other seaso?ns, no visitors are specific to either Summer or Winter. Both seasons share the same three possible visitors, who will appear if you’ve kitted out a Cabin with their specified desires. 

Pam

Pam is a penguin and Tuxedosam’s younger brother. He also has another brother called Tam, who we’ll get to in just a second. Pam will reward you with Fabric if you talk t??o him during a visit. He can pay a visit at any time during Summer or Winter, as long as you’ve met the requirements. 

Speaking of which, here’s all of the requirements you need? to meet if you want Sam to visit:

• Cabin must be in Seaside Resort or Cozy Islands to be close to Tuxedosam
• Cabin must be decorated with five pieces of Fwish furniture
• Cabin must have a Clothing Stand with one piece of clothing on display
• Cabin must have two aquariums, including fish within

Tam

Tuxedosam and Pam’s other brother, Pam, can also pay a visit at any time during Summer or Winter. Like Pam, talking to Tam during a visit will reward you with a swatch of Fabric. His requirements are simila??r to Pam's, but he does have some specific requests??.

Here’s how to lure Tam as a visitor:

• Cabin must be in Seaside Resort or Cozy Islands to be close to Tuxedosam
• Cabin must have one piece of Summer’s End furniture

  • Summer’s End furniture can be obtained through the Sunshine Celebration event, which takes place towards the end of Summer each year

• Must have five pieces of furniture displayed on Clothing Stands

  • You’ll need five clothing stands to meet this requirement

Coco

Unlike either Pam or Tam, Coco will only visit once a week during Summer and Winter. He’s a friend of Cinnamoroll and a brother of Cappuccino and Nuts. As with Nuts, Coco will give you a Coconut if you talk to them during a visit. 

To attract Coco as a visitor, you’ll need to meet t??he following requirements:

• Cabin must have three bookshelves of any type
• Cabin must contain at least one of each of the following items:

  • Coconut
  • Chocolate Coin

Coco is needed ??as a five-st??ar permanent resident if you want to unlock the following quests:

• "Cinna-Run-Around"
• "Cafe Cinnamon Unite"
• "Time for Milk"

Fall visitors in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Fall features the most specific seas?onal visitors, with three Sanrio characters who can show up during the season. Each of them has their own requests, and two of them are (in my opinion) the cutest visitors of all. 

Baku

Baku is Kuromi’s best friend who can visit at any time during the Fall. He can fly and sniff out dreams, and talking to him during a visit, he will reward you with a Pumpkin Spice Soda.

Here’s what you’ll need to do if ??you want Baku to visit:

• Cabin must be in Spooky Swamp to be near Kuromi
• Cabin must be decorated with five Spooky Celebration items

  • Spooky Celebration items can be obtained through the Spooky Celebration event, which is held during October each year

Berry 

I’m just going to say it: Berry (and his best friend Cherry) are adorable little demons, and I’m (im)patiently waiting for Fall so that I can befriend them. With that said, Berry will visit every two weeks during the Fall, and talking to him while he’s there will reward you with a Jack-O-Lantern. 

Here’s how to get Berry as a visitor in Island Adventure:

• Cabin must have three items with the “Joke�?tag
• Cabin must have five items with the “Spooky�?tag
• Cabin must have two items with the “Sweet�?tag

Cherry

If you like cute little demonic creatures, then Berry’s best friend Cherry is also a possible visitor during the Fall. She will also visit every two weeks during the fall, with her visits happening on alternate weekends to Berry. When you talk to Cherry during a visit, she will give you Pink Clouds Ice Cream. 

?If you want Cherry to come along, you’ll need to meet the following requirem??ents:

• Cabin must have three items with the “Fancy�?tag
• Cabin must have five items with the “Spooky�?tag
• Cabin must have two items with the “Pink�?tag

There are many useful tools and equipment to unlock and use in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, and all of them are trapp?ed behind friendship leveling and quests.?? The Watering Can is a hugely useful tool that takes considerable effort to unlock. 

If you’ve been wander??ing around Friendship Island and wondering what those little pink closed flowers on the floor are, don’t worry; you’re not alone. Those flowers only become meaningful once you’ve unlocked the Watering Can, which is not an easy task. 

How to unlock the Watering Can in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

If you want a Watering Can, you’ll need to focus on leveling up your friendship with My Melody. She’s the key to the Watering Can and the Pickaxe, which comes first. I?n short, she’s ?a very useful friend. 

To level up My Melody, you should focus on giving her gifts daily and make the most of Friendship Bouquets and Friendship Blossoms to give her more than the standard three gifts per day. Unfortunately, her two- and three-heart gift p?references are difficult ?to get. 

The best gift to give My Melody is a Pink Latte, which is a two-heart gift and becomes available to make as so?on as you’ve unlocked the Espresso Machine at the Comedy Club through Ha??ngyodon. You can make it using either of the following recipes:

• 1 Candlenut + 1 Strawberry
• 1 Candlenut + 1 Sakura

Either way, once you’ve successfully dragged My Melody’s friendship level to 14, you can com?plete her quest, “Crystal Vay-Cay.�?When you’ve completed that, another quest called “Flower Power�?will become available from My Melody, which will eventually reward you with the Crafting Plans to make a Watering Can. 

To make?? a Watering Can, you’ll need the following resources:

• 2 Mechanisms

  • Crafted using three Gizmos, which are the return gift from Chococat

• 5 Ingots 

  • Crafted using 3 Iron, which can be found all around Mount Hothead and Crystal Caves

How to use the Watering Can in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Once you’ve actually managed to obtain a Watering Can, you’ll find it very useful. Like the Pickaxe, it’s not a selectable tool and instead becomes available to use as soon as you get close enough to a?nything that needs watering?. 

Here ar?e all the ways to use your Watering Can once you’ve got it:

• Gift Flowers

  • Little pink closed buds found in all regions. When watered, these open up to give items, recipes, or Crafting Plans. 

• Flowers

  • Although watering flowers is not strictly needed for them to grow, it does reduce their growth time by one day each time they’re watered. 

• Rainfall Flowers

  • After completing Chococat’s “Rain or Shine�?quest, you’ll be able to water blue Rainfall Flowers that will produce one Raindrop each. These flowers appear in only some areas and only when it’s raining. 

• Merry Meadow

  • After unlocking Merry Meadow, you’ll need to plant and cultivate four Giant Seeds, which will eventually turn into Beanstalks and unlock more of the new area. These need watering every day for three days before they fully grow.

The map in Hello Kitty Island Adventure is absolutely m??assive, filled with noo?ks and crannies to explore that hold secrets waiting to be discovered. The initial map is expansive enough, but there are also new areas to unlock as you progress. 

Merry Meadow is one of these new areas, which can only be unlocked as you progress into the mid-game stages. It�??�s filled with secrets, new resources??, and a lot of plots where you will eventually be able to plant and breed flowers. If you want to know how to find this lush, floral area and unlock its full potential, keep reading. 

How to unlock Merry Meadow in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

All quests in Island Adventure a?re hidden behind friendship levels and connected to multiple different characters. Unlocking Merry Meadow is no different, and it will only be possible once you’ve completed the following steps:

• Complete the “Power Up the Gate�?quest
• Reach friendship level 4 with Pompompurin
• Complete the “Dessert-ed Boat�?quest
• Reach friendship level 11 with My Melody
• Complete the “Revive the Oasis�?quest

Once you’ve done all that, you’ll need to wait one real-life day after completing the "Revive the Oasis" quest. When you enter Island Adventure the next day, you’ll have a new quest available to complete with Pompompurin called “Curio??us Caverns.�?nbsp;

He’s noticed that the waterfall opened up in the previous “Revive the Oasis�?quest has knocked some stones loose, and he wants them removed as they’re unstable. There is only a single rock to remove using your Pickaxe, in the location marked below:

Once this rock is removed, you’ll gain access to Merry? Meadow. Here, you’ll find a few new resources and collectibles:

How to open up all of Merry Meadow in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

To begin with, you’ll only have access to the sm??all lowest section of Merry Meadow. To gain access to the higher areas, including the Greenhouse on the Overlook, you’ll need to find and plant Giant Seeds in the large patches of dirt located close to cliff faces (pictured above). 

You’ll then need to water these Giant Seeds over three real-life days, which requires a Watering Can. T??o get one, you’ll need to reach level 14 friendship with My Melody and complete her “Crystal Vay-Cay�?que?st. 

Once you’ve grown the first Giant Seeds into a Beanstalk, you can climb it to reach the next level of Merry Meadow. Up here, there’ll be another seed to find and plant, beginning the three-day cycle over again. There are a total of four Giant Seeds to fin??d and cultivate, meaning that the process of unlocking Merry Meadow in its entirety will take 12 days. 

Unlocking th??e entirety of Merry Meadow will unlock the ??following features:

• Wish me mell (a new character who resides in Merry Meadow)
• Critter Corral
• Greenhouse
• Hidden exits that lead to different areas of Friendship Island

One character you can invite is Cappuccino, Cinnamoroll's best friend who enjoys napping and snacking. As long as you have a cabin full of food prepared for him, he'll visit throughout the year to liven up the island. Here's how to get Cappuccino to visit your island in Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

How to invite Cappuccino as an Island Visitor in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

The two requirements for inviting Cappuccino to your island are waiting until he begins traveling and building a cabin that meets his requirements. Currently, Cappuccino will arrive in Hello Kitty Island Adventure on February 6, 2025, giving you ?only a few days after My Melody's reminder to prepare a ??cabin for him.

Before Cappuccino v??isits your island, you'll need to prepare a cabin with the following requirements:

• Must have two Bakery items.
• Must have two Coffee items.
• Must have two Pizza items.
• Must have two Soda items.

You're good to go as long as you meet these four requirements. You can use any cabin available in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, but I'd recommend spots like Spooky Swamp, Mount Hothead, or Cloud Island if you have it unlocked. You can also upgrade a cabin or two if you want Cappuccino and other visitors in more populated areas like Seaside Resort.

How to meet Cappuccino's Cabin requirements in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Unlike other visitors who want specific furniture types or food, Cappuccino is all about food. That said, you'll need to unlock the oven, espresso machine, pizza oven, and soda machine. The oven is available early on in your playthrough, but the oth?ers require exploring each region and befriending Hangyodon, Retsuko, and Pompompurin.

Although these are a few recommendations for easy recipes, you can use any oversupplied items. For example, if you have a ton of Sugarkelp from befriending Keroppi, you can turn it into Sugarkelp Cakes, Dessert Pizza, or Sweet Soda. Even if a recipe fails, the default options work? for Cappuccino's cabin requirements, allowing you to experiment and discover new recipes.

Once you have every item, unlock any cabin you wish using some spare Strawberry Crates before placing everything down. After sa??tisfying his cabin r??equirements, you'll have to wait a day for Cappuccino to visit, so don't worry if he doesn't appear right away.

Iron and ingots are two of the most important resources you'll find in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. You'll us??e it in numerous crafting recipes, including ones for quest items and valuable gifts for villagers. Fortunately, there are two easy ways to farm iron early in your playthrough.

Best ways to get Iron in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Typically, the main way to get iron in Hello Kitty Island Adventure is to travel around Mount Hothead and pi??ck it up off the ground. However, the??re are two better methods to obtain iron quickly and consistently:

1. Use the Nul Collection Box to get 14 Iron every 24 hours.
2. Play the Gemstone Match House minigame in Gemstone Mountain.

The best strategy for maximizing your iron farming is to activate the Nul Collection Box in Seaside Resort as soon as you log into Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Once you do, you'll have 24 hours to play in the Gemsto??ne Match House or?? roam around Mount Hothead for extras.

Nul Collection Box

The Nul Collection Box is one of the best ways to get resources around Friendship Island if you don't want to go around and grab them yourself. After progressing through the main story enough to complete Meet the Island Beings and Terra Nul, you'll equip one of the island's Nuls with a Collector Hat, allowing you to use the Collectio?n Box to get various materials. You'll obtain the r??esources �?in this case, 14 iron �?after 24 real-world hours.

Overall, if you want to prepare for the following day or don't have enough time to play Hello Kitty Island Adventure, the Collection Box is one of the best ways to get any resour?ce with little effort. However, the Gemstone Match House is a great alternative if you prefer active gameplay and item-collecting.

Gemstone Match House

The Gemstone Match House is located in Gemstone Mountain, north of Spooky Swamp. You'll find it above the Gemstone Town mailbox in a building with a yellow roof.

The main purpose of the Gemstone Match House is farming resources like iron, Shiny, and a few miscellaneous collectibles using Game Tickets. In exchange for one Game Ticket, you'll swap up to two pairs of grayed-out crystals, lighting them up in hopes of matching two of the same type. A successful match gives y??ou another chance ??to match, letting you chain them if you find several.

Each successful match gives you either two irons, Shiny, or other rewards like furniture and music. Iron is by far the most common prize you'll get from this, letting you get upward of eight to ten with one Game Ticket if you get lucky with your matches. Even if you don't find any matches right away, the puzzle won't reset, letting you memorize their locations and create some c?hains.

The Gemstone Mat?ch House is a fantastic way to get iron quickly if you have enough Game Tickets to play a few rounds. Game Tickets also spawn on the ground daily, so you can grab more the next? day if you run out.

How to make Iron Ingots in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Before you can craft ingots using your newly acquired iron, you'll need to find its crafting recipe blueprint in Gems??tone Mountain. The ingot ?crafting blueprint appears on a small barrel near the Gemstone Match House.

Once you collect this ingot blueprint, head to Chococat's crafting table to find the recip?e. You'll need three iron for every ingot you create, so be prepared to farm the Gemstone Match House and ask the Nuls to collect some iron?? for you occasionally.

How to make Stamina Apples in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Making a Stamina Apple in Hello Kitty Island Adventure requires collecting five Stamina Apple slices and using them at Chococat's crafting table. When you obtain your first five slices, Chococat will automatically assign you a quest, Fantastic Fruit, letting you unlock the apple's crafting recipe. Without talking to Chococat first, you won't be able to make a Stamina Apple e?ven if you have enough slices.

There are two ways to get Stamina Apple slices in Hello Kitty Island Adventure:

1. Open Golden Chests around the map.
2. Befriend villagers around Friendship Island.

Early on in your playthrough, the easiest way to get Stamina Apple slices is to befriend a few characters. After eating your fir??st apple, you'll have enough stamina to explore most of the map, giving you access to most locations outside of ones that require more stamina or are locked behind certain quests.

The remaining 10 Stamina Apple slices in Hello Kitty Island Adventure are?? tucked away in golden treasure chests around Friendship Island. Some are accessible early on, while others require a few stamina upgrades. Here are all 10 Stamina Apple slice chest locations:

Seaside Resort

The first Stamina Apple slice location in Seaside Resort requires completing the main story quest Power Up the Gate and entering the Beginners Bridge puzzle chamber. After befriending Chococat, you'll craft a Power Crys??tal Sensor that leads you to several puzzle rooms, including one directly west of his crafting station. This c?hamber houses the first golden chest and Stamina Apple slice.

The second location within Seaside Resort requires traveling to Hopscotch Islands. These islands are directly northwest of the main Seaside Resort area, with the golden chest on top of its highest point. Although you can get here without flippers, having them avail??able makes this trip much easier.

With these two locations out of the way, it's? t??ime to travel to Spooky Swamp.

Spooky Swamp

Spooky Swamp has one golden chest location directly south of the Ghost Tour Ride's mailbox. If it's your first time in the swamp, you'll have to travel to the northernmost section until you start seeing railway tracks before heading west onto a raised cliffside. The che?st containing the next Stamina Apple slice is nestled next to a tree and some peculiar blue-gray rocks.

Rainbow Reef

Rainbow Reef has two Stamina Apple slice chests, with the first chest only being accessible if you have flippers. The second requires the snorkel and either the Mermaid Outfit or extra stamina from apples.

Starting with the easier of the two, teleport to either the Moon Island or Cozy Islands mailbox and start swimming toward their middle point. If you zoom into your map, you'll find a tiny gray circle, indicating the stone platform hou??sing your next golden chest. Head to this spot to find another Stamina Apple slice.

The second chest is a little trickier, requiring at least three stamina wheels or the Mermaid Outfit. Directly north of Kelp Maze and south of Gemstone Mountain is a mas?sive trench with a blue Power Crystal and a go??lden Stamina Apple chest at the bottom. Using your snorkel, descend to the very bottom to find the next chest.

Gemstone Mountain

Next is Gemstone Mountain, a region north of Spooky Swamp with three Stamina Apple slice chests. The first is the easiest of the three, located on a cliff south of the Oasis Mailbox and Pompompurin's Dessert Boat. Although you don't nee??d an extra stamina wheel for this location, having one from now on ??will help you in the next few locations.

Our next destination is tricky to navigate, as it requires traveling to the entrance of Icy Peak in Gemstone Mountain. Icy Peak is the mountain and cave system in the area's northeast corner. Fortunately, we won't have to enter this dangerous area, as the next stamina apple chest ??is east of the entrance's Mailbo?x along the cliff's edges.

I'd recommend having an extra stamina wheel or two for this climb, as it's very easy to run out even if you take? the long route along the main path. With enough parkour skills, though, you can get away with doing this without extra stamina.

Our final Stamina Apple slice location in Gemstone Mountain requires venturing directly into Crystal Caves. You can find this ??cave system below the Icy Peak Entrance mailbox, with its entrance surrounde??d by purple crystals.

Before entering the cave, make sure you've unlocked the snorkel and either the Mermaid Outfit or some extra stamina. You only need one extra wheel, but having a s?econd will make swimming much easier. Once you head inside, jump into the water directly south of you and swim all the way down until you spot the golden chest next to a puzzle chamber.

Mount Hothead

Last on the list is Mount Hothead, which holds two more Stamina Apple slices. If you haven't completed story quests like Enraging Ruins and Fire Up the Volcano, you'll need at least two extra stamina wheels to access these chests. In most cases, these ?will be ??the last two slices you collect outside of friendship-level ones.

Once you've acquired some stamina upgrades, climb up the mountain past Retsuko, the pizza oven, and the Mount Hothead mailbox until you reach the levels below the Upper Ruins entrance. You may have to get a little creative with climbing up, but a good rule of thumb is to look for ledges to rest on if your stamina gets ??low.

If you already have the Upper Ruins entrance mailbox unlocked, jump down to the right-most platform directly below it to save time. Either way, head up (o??r down) Mount Hothead until you find the golden chest next to a rope fence in front of one of the ruins' entrances.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure's final Stamina Apple slice location is deep within Mount Hothead's caves. More specifi?cally, you'll need access to the Lava Caves, which you can access either through the Caldera mailbox if you've visited before or by climbing up the mountain. Completing Enraging Ruins and Fire Up the Volcano will make this much easier, but you can get through here without the quest if you haven't met Retsuko's friendship requirements.

Regardless of your strategy, you'll initially find the Lava Caves entrance directly east of the Caldera mailbox. Much like the rest of Mount Hothead, you'll encounter several ledges that make traversing this area possible, al??beit tricky if you accidentally fly or ste??p on lava. Hug the walls, land on as many safe ledges as possible, and conserve some stamina to fly around the molten rock spots for the best chance at getting past these rooms.

After the first room, you'll have a break from moving along a minecart track and running around safe paths. Shortly after the minecart ride, you'll encounter an area in the top-left corner of the map, requiring you to travel north across the lava river and enter a small cave entrance to access the final gold??en chest.

There are a lot of things to distract you from your everyday tasks in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, a??nd perhaps none are more distracting than the Challenge Courses littered across the many different locations. 

There are a total o??f 48 Challenge Courses to take on and complete, with a varying number of them in each distinct area. Completing Challenge Courses will reward Trophy Pieces as well as the plans needed to make the trophies. Each co??urse has a Bronze, Silver, and Gold tier time. 

How to Challenge Course work in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

The starting point ?for every Challenge Course takes the form of a flower on a stick, below which you’ll find a pink platform. When you stand or run over this platform, Athlete Coins will appear on the land, or Obstacle Rings will appear if the course is under??water. 

The aim of any Challenge Course is to run around and collect all of the Athlete Coins, or swim through all of the Obstacle Rings. Each tier requires you ??to complete the?? course in a certain amount of time, and you’ll earn one Trophy Piece per course when you complete the course within the required time. 

With those Trophy Pieces, you can then think about crafting the Trophy fo??r each area. However, you’ll need to complete every Challenge Course in an ar??ea before you can craft each Trophy.

It is, however, possible to reach the top of the volcano before this point if you’re stubborn enough, although I wouldn’t recomme??nd doing so.

There are six Challenge Courses to complete down here, all of w??hich require you to swim through Obstacle Rings.

There are six Challenge Courses here, and you’ll need to ?plant three?? Giant Seeds and cultivate them over three days to reach all of the Challenge Courses.

If you’re into cozy games or Sanrio, then there’s no doubt that Hello Kitty Island Adventure is the perfect combination ??of the two. While it’s endlessly enjoyable to run around with familiar characters, it only gets better when you drag a friend along with you. 

Playing with friends in Island Adventure comes with a long list of benefits, as well as some rewards that are only available through multiplayer. This isn’t anything new for anyone who has played on Apple Arcade prior to the Steam and Nintendo Switch release on January 30, bu?t if you’re new on any platform, here’s how multiplayer works and everything you can get for simply playing with a friend. 

How does multiplayer work in Hello Kitty Island Adventure?

To invite someone to your game or join somebody else’s game, just open up the Phone and select the “Multiplayer�?icon. Here, you can grab a code and send it to your friend, which they can input in the same location to join your game. Whether you’re th??e host or the guest, you’ll need to work quickly. These codes refresh every five minutes. 

If you’re hosting, it’s best to keep the multiplayer window open until your friend is con?necting, as closing the?? window can cause the code to refresh, rendering the old one useless.

If you’re playing on Steam, you can also very quickly invite any friend on your Steam friend’s list, and they will automatically enter your game once they open up the Steam Overlay and accept the?????????????????????????? invite. 

While playing with a friend, the guest will gain access to all of the areas, crafting stations, and unlocked characters that have been unlocked by the host, even if those things aren't available on the guest's own island. While a guest does retain access to their own inventories, resources on the host island are ?not?? shared until you reach friendship level 15. 

Those are the basics; now let’s get onto specific aspects of multiplayer in Island Adventure. 

Gifting items in multiplayer in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

While a guest cannot give gifts to any of the characters unlocked on the host island, gifts can be exchanged between the guest and the host. Trading gifts with a friend is done in the same way as you would usually gift items to the various Sanrio characters.&nbs?p;

Most items are eventually ?giftable, with clothing items becoming available to gift after reaching friendship level 13, but there are some items that can never be given as gifts, regardless of level.
