We've read all about Street Fighter 6, we know the roster for Street Fighter 6, and some of us have even played Street Fighter 6, but where is Street Fighter 6? Hopefully, the answer to this question is nearing revelation, as the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea has now issued an official rating for the fighting sequel, suggesting that the t??itle is ?getting ready to rock.

As spotted by VGC, The Korean game rating committee, fast becoming the best spoiler for game reveals and announcements going, issued a "Yellow" rating for Capcom's great-looking scrapper, which recommends it for players aged 15 or over. While this rating hardly suggests that we'll be stepping into Metro City by the holidays, we can at least expect a release date to be for?thcoming �perhaps it revealed at next month's Game Awards festivities? Here's hoping.

Street Fighter 6, a whole-hearted effort to relaunch the franchise following its poorly-launched predecessor, has already been wowing players who took part in its September beta test �impressive with its slick visuals, dynamic special effects, and various modes and features. Aside from the regular ring rocking, SF 6 will also feature a full, story-based adventure mode, as well as the socially-enthused Battle Hub, goofy match options, and even an?? arcade packed with classic Capcom titles.

As many fans will attest, The Street Fighter 6 team, under fresh management, has done everything right so far. Now all that is left is for the team to hold ground until launch day arrives, as they're currently on track to releasing, inarguably, the most feature-packed Street Fighter release in franchise history. Hopefully, we'll be hearing more?? concrete news of its rel?ease date real soon.

Short and Sweet

A little mystery to kick off your Monday morning: As spotted by Gematsu, that master spoiler, the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea, has updated its website with a selection of brand new titles �among them is a new listing for something called Silent Hill: The Short Message.

Like many of these early listings, there is no further information pertaining to the title's platforms or release date, though publisher UNIANA, (which handles Konami titles in the Korean territories), is listed as the distributor. This mystery title will no doubt set Silent Hill fans' tongues wagging, given that we have been fed numerous rumors and whispers regarding a new sequ?el in the legendary horror franchise for well over a year now.

While there is most certainly the possibility that The Short Message could refer to a mobile title or some other spin-off, it is definitely high time that these long-running rumors f??inally paid off. Perhaps we will hear something official from Konami before the year is out �say at the December Game Awards show or similar. Either way, it's something new to bite into, so make sure you clean your fog lamps and change the batteries in your torch...

Logan en route to PlayStation Plus Premium

The Ultimate Spoiler: The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea is at it again, although this time around is choosing to go a little old-school with its update. Freshly listed on the committee's ratings website are new listings for a tetrology of titles pulled from 989 Studios' stealth-action series, Syphon Filter.

The new listings include ratings in Korea for Syphon Filter (1999), Syphon Filter 2 (2000), Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror (2006), and finally Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow (2007). All four games are rated for PS4 and PS5, which would suggest that they are being prepped for re-release on the revamped PlayStation Plus service. The service, as noted by Sony last month, will feature a wide variety of titles pulled from PlayStation history. Conspicuous by their absence are Syphon Filter 3 (2001) and PS2 release Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain (2004).

Of course, if every PlayStation, PS2, and PSP title is getting set to be re-rated for PlayStation Plus inclusion, then it would seem that Game Ratings Committees have a helluva lot of work queued up. While we're unlikely to report on every title that waits in line for re-release, it's worth noting that the Syphon Filter series was pretty darn cool, and sets a precedent for some ?of the quality franchises that will be making a grand comeback on the new service.

Since its initial announcement in the spring of 2021, Sega has been completely silent on the topic of one Sonic Origins �a supposed retro compilation of The Blue Blur'??s 16-bit hits. While the publisher has invariably referred to Sonic's future across the past 12 months, this one title seemed all but forgotten.

Well, it seems that the project has not been abandoned, as everyone's favorite spoiler, The Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee, has of??ficially listed the missing-in-action relea?se. As spotted by Twitter user... erm... "@regularpanties"... Sonic Origins has been afforded a wholesome "A" certificate, so I wouldn't? expect any all-new bourbon-drinking, eye-gouging content to have been included.

Sonic Origins is expected to be an HD compilation of Sega Mega Drive releases Sonic the Hedgehog (1991), Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (1992), Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (1994), Sonic & Knuckles (1994), and the Mega CD release Sonic CD (1993). We are still awaiting the news of any additional feature??s and extras. I'm hoping for a PAL mode option so I can play it at those shitty UK s??peeds we had to suffer through.

The rating comes just weeks after rumors that Sonic Origins' development has been downsized to just a scant handful of people, which has led to what has been an extended period of silence from the publisher. In addition to Sonic Origins, Sega is also working on the ambitious Sonic Frontiers, which is tentatively scheduled to launch later in 2022. So it would make sense that Origins may have fallen down the priority list.

Will those licensed titles finally appear?

The greatest spoiler in the gaming industry, The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea, is at it again �The website has dropped a new listing for an as-yet-unannounced "Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium", which sounds like a sequel (or expansion) to the classic retro compendium released by Capcom in the winter of 2021.

Of course, there are no details whatsoever including in the listing, which was registered on the PC platform on March 18. The listing is accompanied by an alternate release, Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium Bundle #1, which suggests that titles will be able to purchase in packs, much like the original release. It would also be assumed that a new collection of titles would be made available to owners of the original Capcom Arcade Stadium as DLC.

While Capcom Arcade Stadium offers up solid, old-school fun, there are many titles from the legendary developer that did not put in an appearance. Of course, this list of M.I.A. titles includes some of Capcom's beloved licensed releases, such as Cadillacs and Dinosaurs and The Punisher. Whether this new edition of CAS will fea?ture some of these oft-requested entities remains to be ?seen.

T: Theft, determination, to steal what you can and run from the nation

The Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee are at it again. Renown for its ability to leak the existence of new games before the publishers are ready to drop the official word, the governing body has uploaded a new listing for a Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition??, as registered by publisher Take-Two Interactive.

While there are zero details pertaining to this new title, the internet has been in full whisper mode for some time, suggesting that developer Rockstar is currently preparing full remasters of the classic PS2/Xbox releases Grand Theft Auto III (2001), Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002), and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (2004). Rumors have pointed to remasters built in Unreal Engine, with a mix of "new and old graphics," for PC and consoles, including a Nintendo Switch release. According to reporting from Kotaku, these modern versions could be coming as soon as ??"late October or early No??vember."

There is, of course, no clarification that the listed "Definitive Edition" is this GTA rem??aster trilogy, but the conclusion ??is a snug one...

...That said, it could turn out to be a compendium of the PS3, PS4, and PS5 editions of Grand Theft Auto V. Don't laugh.

Founder's Pack owners can play the Lost Ark closed beta starting November 4

Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG have made the call to push back Lost Ark, an MMO action-RPG, into "early 2022." Prior to this delay, which comes on the heels of a technical alpha test, the game was ??aiming for a fall 2021 launch in North America and Europe.

In light of this revised timeline, Lost Ark will be running a closed beta from November 4�, 2021, with Founder's Pack owners gaining access. As a reminder, the least expensive paid option is the $15 Bronze tier, but this will be a free-to-play title, s??o mayb??e wait.

With another long-time-coming Amazon-published MMO, New World, currently planning a September 28 release, fans of Lost Ark are understandably riled up over the delay.

While I get players' frustrations, suspicions, and frankly well-deserved reservations about Amazon Games in general, any way you slice it, it's about to be a very busy time for new game releases. And Lost Ark's post-Endwalker "early 2021" window will be stacked, too.

Here's how Smilegate's explained the delay:

"While delving into all of the great feedback and data generated by our Alpha and reviewing recent changes to the Korean version that we want to include in our release, we discovered a lot more work that will be needed to launch Lost Ark at the high quality bar our players deserve. As players have been waiting for so long, we want to take the time to do it right while also ensuring we look after the wellness of our hardworking Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG t??eams."

And a note on transparency:

"While we have been relatively quiet so far, we do want to improve the quality and frequency of our communications. We are committed to staying more open ?with our players about what our team is working on. Moving forward we will provide monthly updates to discuss the work our team is doing behind the scenes."

In response to a Steam user question about potentially getting "new sub-classes like Lancemaster or Reaper" from the Korean version of the game, a Lost Ark developer, Roxx, opened up a bit, noting, "The game's continued development includes things like squashing outstanding bugs, strengthening server infrastructure, and making sure translations and VO ar??e in good shape. [...] At this time it is not?? necessarily new game content, but things like balance tweaks, reworks, updates, etc."

"As the developers of Lost Ark, Smilegate deliver??s us builds, and our QA team tests for bugs and blockers," said Roxx. "We work together to find and address these issues."

"Our build is not a 1:1 copy and paste of the game that is already out, as it includes different classes, changes, localization to different languages (English, German, French, and Spanish instead of one addition??al language), and with all of this comes different bugs to solve for," the developer continued. "Unfortunately we do need more time to work with Smilegate to ensure that the game launches at quality."

CJ asked if any of us remembered this game, and in my imaginary conversation with him, I responded "Oh yeah, definitely" while picturing Vin Diesel's stoic CGI mug in a land of dinos. Lost Ark is not to be confused with Ark II, although six years ago, Dtoid did run the headline "Holy summoned triceratops, Lost Ark lo?oks fantastic." I haven't totally lost it.

Brushing up, I do think there's something compelling here, and I could see myself rolling a Gunslinger or a Bard �especially in a time when Diablo has honestly just lost its luster.

I get the sense that fans are upset by the delay, at least in part, because the alpha build was already in a good-feeling state, and they t?hink it's more?? than ready to go.

The wildest trailer at Gamescom

One of the zaniest Gamescom 2021 moments was the re-reveal of DokeV, an "all ages" action-adventure game with a bonkers world of creatures to befriend and very pretty graphics. I initially let it slip through the cracks of Opening Night Live, but I knew I'd want to circle ?back. The gameplay trailer, if you missed it, then an interesting update to follow.

As clarified in the aftermath of this trailer �which shows skateboarding, jet skiing, rocket-shoe dashing, super-fun-looking magical air swinging, umbrella gliding, and a giant lizard getting pummeled with an inflatable (?) hammer �DokeV isn't an MMO.

It was going to be, at one point, but Pearl Abyss "decided to move the ??game in a different direction and it's now a creature-collecting open world action-adventure."

In a follow-up overview video with developer comments, executive producer Daeil Kim got to the heart of the game, which draws from Korean folklore (Dokkaebi) and also a bit of Ghostbusters: "We wanted t??o create a ga??me the whole family can enjoy together."

Similarly, lead producer Sangyoung Kim mentioned that "Wanting to create a game I could play together with my kid is what motivated the creation of DokeV."

"You know those dreams you have when you're young, where you feel like you're flying?," said game designer Changkee Nam. "Flying through the sky, moving very fast, or pretending to be Superman... We worked very hard to create those experiences we imagined in the gameplay." Dodge-rolling action aside, the?? traversal is easily the highlight.

I've always managed to watch Pearl Abyss games from a distance. This one, though �I want to get closer. Even if it looks a little too chaotic, I'm fascinated. DokeV is coming to PC ??and consoles, but probably not anytime soon. There's no locke??d-in release window.

Sexiest game ever spreading its love to Sony's black box

The greatest spoiler organization on the planet, The Game Rating and Administration of Korea, are at it again. As spotted by eagle-eyed Resetera users, the board has released a new listing that appears to show Supergiant Giant's much-loved dungeon crawler Hades is preparing to cut loose on PS4.

Launching on PC and Nintendo Switch in September of 2020, Hades won over an army of fans with its compelling story, super-cool style, wry sense of humor, and hot-as-hell (literally) cast of "heroes" and villains. Hades would go on to sell over one million copies by the end of 2020 — winning numerous end-of-year awards — and is still finding new followers all the t?ime. A PS4 port would only add to this Army of The Damned.

For clarification, there has been no official confirmation that Hades is headed to the PlayStation platform, but time has long shown that once a title appears on the Korean listings site, it's more or less all the confirmation that you need. Here's hoping Hades arrives s?oon, I really miss Dusa... and Zagreus... and Nyx... and Megaera... and...

Get ready to Ride the Tiger once again, Virtua Fighter fans. An unannounced listing for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown has popped up on the website of that bastion of industry spoilers: the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea. As spotted by Twitter user @nokcha334 the new title was rated on March 19 and listed as coming to the PS4 platform. This news is ?dangerously close to April Fool's Da?y for my liking...

While this is total speculation on my part, this listing suggests that Sega is preparing to release another new update for its fantastic 2006 release Virtua Fighter 5. The one-on-one 3D slugfest last saw attention back in 2010, with the release of Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown. The beloved but relatively low-key franc?hise laying has laid dormant since, despite pleas for a sequel from hardened fighting game fanatics, yer boy Moyse included.

While this is not the Virtua Fighter 6 that we all might have hoped for, this ratings board listing suggests that Virtua Fighter might be about to receive some form of fresh attention - which no doubt ties in with the mysterious "Virtua Fighter x eSports Project" announced by Sega back in September?? 202?0. You better believe we'll keep you updated should confirmation and new info be forthcoming. Don't you go all mobile port on me, Akira...

More news from our favorite spoilers, The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea, who has released a new listing for a PC port of Super Bomberman R Online, the fast and fr??antic multiplayer title currently o??nly available on Google's cloud gaming service, Stadia.

The latest release in the now decades-old series, Super Bomberman R Online, takes the maze-blasting gameplay that is the series trademark and expands it to a staggering 64-player battle royale format. In true Bomberman fashion, players compete to make the most of their local play area, cornering foes, bagging p?ower-ups, and strategically placing explosives, while hopefully not painting themselves into a corner. The clock is also against our boom buddies, with the player area shrinking down as the battle continues. Will you be the Last Bomber Standing?

Super Bomberman R Online features a selection of characters, including guest stars from other Konami titles - such as Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid - as well as full customization opt??ions. Fantastic news for old-school fighting game fans, as SNK has confirmed that the previously rumored re-release of SNK vs. Capcom: Match of the Millennium is set to return. The dinky fighting extravaganza will launch on Nintendo Switch February 17, the latest? release in the publisher's Neo Geo Pocket Color Selection.

Launched in 1999 for SNK's short-lived but great handheld platform, Match of the Millennium sees a who's who of superstars from franchises such as Fatal Fury, Street Fighter, The Last Blade, Samurai Shodown, King of Fighters, and Darkstalkers squar??e off in both one-on-one and tag-based mayhem.

Packed to the brim with content, Match of the Millennium features eight unlockable characters for a total roster of 26 fighters. Also included are three battle modes and the celebrated "SNK Olympics" - a selection of cute mini-games based on titles such as Metal Slug and Ghouls n' Ghosts. This re-release will preserve this low-key but wonderful entry to the fight??ing game genre for future generations. Brilliant stuff.

Some excellent news for fans of SNK's Neo Geo Pocket Color Selection, as one of the coolest handheld fighters of all-time, SNK vs. Capcom: Match of the Millennium, has been rated for Nintendo Switch by The Game Rating and Administrati??on Committee of Kor?ea.

Originally released in the winter of 1999, Match of the Millennium was SNK's ambitious effort to shrink down the bumper-sized action of titles such as Capcom vs. SNK for its humble handheld ?device, the Ne?o Geo Pocket Color. Amazingly, the experiment was a success, leading to a cute pint-sized fighter that sees legends from both brands square off for a round of fisticuffs.

Street Fighter's Ryu, Ken, Sakura, and Chun-Li; King of Fighters' Iori, Terry Bogard, and Mai; Samurai Shodown's Nakoruru and Haohmaru; even Darkstalkers' Morrigan, Felicia, and B.B. Hood all turn up for the ruck, with Match of the Millennium offering SNK's traditional tag-team options, as well as boss characters, unlockable fighters, and secret stages. If all that wasn't enough, there are also some fun score-attack mini-games, based on titles such as Metal Slug and Ghouls n' Ghosts.

While obviously not quite as deep as your average console fighter, SNK vs. Capcom: Match of the Millennium is, in many ways, one of SNK?'s greatest releases - a title that truly makes the most out of the least, going above and beyond to squeeze every drop of power available from its home platform. Concerns had been raised that licensing might prevent this title from re-release, and as such it??'s marvelous news that this long-lost fighter will be given the opportunity to shine once again.

A new challenger has entered the ring

In a surprising but wholly welcome piece of news, fighting game maestro Arc System Works will team with fellow developers Eighting and Neople to create a one-on-one fighter set within the universe of Dungeon Fighter Online.

The tentatively titled DNF Duel was revealed just a few days ago at the Dungeon & Fighter Universe Festival, held in Korea by DFO publisher Nexon. While details are extremely short, DNF Duel will be a 2D anime affair much akin to titles such as Guilty Gear and Granblue Fantasy: Versus, and will no doubt feature warriors pulled from DFO's huge roster of heroes and villains.

While no platforms nor a release date were revealed, having the pedigree of Arc System Works and Eighting in its corner certainly sets DNF Duel in good stead. A short teaser trailer, which you can check out below, already shows ?a ton of promise.

Second project from the Gran Saga team

Korean studio NPIXEL has announced a brand new MMORPG, headed to PC and mobile platforms in 2022. Chrono Odyssey will be an epic adventure gaming blending fantastic and c??aptivating worlds and characters, set in a universe where fantasy and sci-fi collide.

The second project from NPIXEL following its previous release Gran Saga, Chrono Odyssey will tell the story of a special organization known as "Idraiginn", who are tasked with battling a legion of all-powerful gods. Utilizing the power of Unreal 4, Chrono Odyssey will feature large-scale battles, stunning vistas, and exquisite character models - a style which you can see encapsulated in the beautiful trailer below. The soundtrack is composed by Cris Velasco, who previously scored titles such as Resident Evil 7, Overwatch, and God of War.

Currently in production for release on PC as well as iOS and Android devices, NPIXEL CEO Spike Bong-gun Bae has noted their desire to see Chrono Odyssey transition to PS5 and Xbox Series X ??fo??llowing its initial release. It certainly looks very enticing so far.

And Fatal Fury: First Contact is headed to Nintendo Switch

Once again, the spoileriffic Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea has spilled the beans on some rad retro titles headed to modern platforms. According to the new site listings, SNK is currently in the process of bringing the excellent King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match to PS4, a port of Code Mystics' PC re-release.

The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match gathers together an amazing 65 characters - all pulled from the classic Neo Geo fighting franchise - for an almighty three-on-three throwdown to establish who truly is the greatest scrapper on the planet (spoilers: Leona Heidern). With the PC edition having recently received a very welcome rollback netcode update, thi??s PS4 port will hopefully further secure ??the community for this amazing title for years to come.

And speaking of SNK classics, the ratings board has also revealed the next title coming to the Neo Geo Pocket Color Selection on Nintendo Switch. Originally released in 1999 for the nifty handheld console, Fatal Fury: First Contact is a cute adaptation of SNK classic Real Bout Fatal Fury 2, and sees Terry, Andy, Mai, Geesem and chums duking it out in pint-sized ?pugilistic action.

N?either title has been dated, but these ratings all but guarantee their launch in the near future??.

The PS5 remake was rated in Korea on August 13

Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Demon's Souls are all the justification I need to want to pick up a PlayStation 5 on day one (whenever that might be, and for however much that might cost), but what are the odds? We don't know the PS5 launch games or even the full launch-window lineup, for that?? matter.

Adding more speculative fuel to the fire, Demon's Souls was rated in Korea on August 13, 2020.

As listing spotter Gematsu notes, the other PS5 game with a Korean rating is Miles Morales – and Insomniac is planning a "holiday 2020" release. That's not to say Demon's Souls will be the same story, but the fact that i??t already has a rating now suggests a quicker timeline than I've been expecting.

Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of SNK's super-powerful, super-expensive Neo Geo hardware. To celebrate the console's storied legacy of great fighting games and giant cartridges, SNK has announced that it will be re-releasing Neo Geo Pocket Color classic Gals' Fighters this week, and will offer up new information regarding the upcoming Samurai Shodown Neo Geo collection.

Released back in 2000 for the fledgling handheld, Gals' Fighters is a comedic crossover fighter that brings together a selection of the Neo Geo's fighting femmes in a one-on-one tournament, the prize being the realisation of the winner's greatest wish. Gals' Fighters is a cute, fun punch-up, and would set the stage for later release SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy, which laun??ched on PS4 and Nintendo?? Switch in 2018.

The Samurai Shodown Neo Geo Collection was first revealed almost exactly a year ago, and will feature the classic SamSho titles that launched on the Neo Geo console between 1993 and 2004. The release will feature all six games in their Japanese and World editions, along with online multiplayer ??and a museum full of marketi?ng goodies.

Oddly, SNK's announcement did not include a price or platforms for Gals' Fighters in its announcement, although we do know it has previously been rated for Switch. We will, of course, update you when we have fu?r?ther information.

Korea's Game Rating and Administration committee - fast becoming the best place to learn of upcoming ports - has listed a new rating for SNK's niche fighting title Gals' Fighters, which is apparently headed?? to ??Nintendo Switch at some point in the future.

Originally released for the fledgling Neo Geo Pocket Color handheld back in 2000, Gals' Fighters is a fun crossover title that sees some? of SNK finest femmes throwdown in a mysterious tournament, the ultimate prize being the fulfillment of a single wish. The game has a light-hearted atmosphere, with cute, detailed sprites and silly storytelli??ng.

The roster includes King of Fighters mainstays such as Yuri Sakazaki, Mai Shiranui, Leona Heidern, and Shermie, as well as Samurai Shodown characters Nakoruru and Shiki. Kyo Kusanagi's girlfriend Yuki makes an appearance as a fun hidden character. It's obviously not hard to see Gals' Fighters as a prelude to 2018's equally fun fighter SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy.

I love this game, and despite no longer owning a NGPC console, I still have my copy of Gals' Fighters, (along with the excellent Match of the Millennium) and it'll be great for a whole new audience to get to experience its fun nature. There's no word on how Gals' Fighters will be distributed on Switch, but fans are predicting it will be a pre-order bonus for the upcoming Samurai Shodown Neo Geo Collection.

The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea is at it again with all the unintended hot scoops. This time, the frequent leaker of releases appears to have outed a Nintendo Switch port of 2015 JRPG sequel Megadimension Neptunia VII.

Already available on PS4 and PC, Megadimension Neptunia VII is one of the larger-scale titles in the goofy Neptunia franchise, and sees everyone's favourite pudding-lover Nep Nep transported to a mysterious new dimension, where she learns of a dangerous shift in ??the balance of power that threatens the very existence of Gameindustri itself.

Teaming with new CPU Uzume Tennouboshi - along with many of her old friends and acquaintances, Neptune embarks on an epic quest to save the very universe, in an RPG peppered with Hyperdimension Neptunia's recognisable brand of colourful worlds, grindy boss battles, and very silly humour. The title was remade for PSVR in 2017 as Megadimension Neptunia VIIR.

95% chance, but this is XCOM, so...

The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea has recently added two new entries, suggesting that Nintendo Switch ports are en route for Atlus' Catherine: Full Body and 2K Games' XCOM 2 Collection.

As spotted by YouTuber GameXplain, the two titles quietly? appeared as part of a list of games newly-rated by the Korean body. While this is no official statement of release, it has become increasingly rare that titles list??ed by game rating boards do not eventually see the light of day.

Catherine: Full Body is the 2019 revamp of 2011's bizarre platform-puzzler, Catherine. Full Body includes overhauled gameplay, an online battle mode, new story elements and a selection of difficulty levels. The Japanese release also included Persona 5 crossover DLC.

XCOM 2 is the latest entry in the famous sci-fi strategy series, and sees players attempt to overthrow Earth's alien oppressors through adaptation, smart decision-making, careful planning, and even budget management. XCOM 2 Collection launched in 2018 and includes the original game plus four DLC expansion packs; Resistance Warrior; Anarchy's Children; Alien Hunters

I'm weirdly curious

Sometimes a video game comes our way and I just want to tell you to watch the trailer because there's a whole lot going on and it's better seen than explained. That's definitely how I feel about DokeV, a wild new PC and console MMO for "all ages" from Pearl Abyss, the Black Desert Online people.

It's kinda like Pokémon or Yo-Kai Watch, but with a staggering visual fi??delity to the proceedings.

The trailer is a trip. The 4K upload? made my eyes melt a bit.

The game is called DokeV – that's "doh-keh-vee," by the way – and it's about creatures, Dokebi, "that grow and gain power from people's dreams." It's ??running on the studio's next-gen game engine.

Pearl Abyss is juggling multiple other projects right now (including a new fantasy IP, Crimson Desert, and an arena fighter, Shadow Arena), but this is the one I'm most into as a creature-collecting game fan. The developer sums up DokeV as an "open world adventure," and expects to run a beta t??est in 2020.

South Korean mobile game publisher Nexon has sudden?ly announced that it is pre??paring to put itself on the market. Kim Jung-Ju, who founded the company in the '90s, i??s expected to put up just under 99% of the company's stock, believed to be in the region of nine billion dollars.

Nexon have been in the gaming industry since 1994, coming into their own with titles like Nexus: Kingdom of the Winds, MapleStory and KartRider. After boosting their coffers by going public in 2011, Nexon have been a major player in the ludicrous mobile gaming mark??et since.

Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley will reportedly handle the sale of the controlling stock, but whoever picks up Nexon is going to need some de?ep pockets. Some of the names being bounced around as potential buyers are Chinese super-corp Tencent, as well as Korea's NetMarble Games and even Electronic Arts.

That's one mighty battle royale

It's hardly surprising, but still worth reporting. Epic Games' battle royale phenomenon Fortnite has proudly anno?unced that it has passed a milestone for 8.3 million concurrent players.

The new figure was hit following the Free-to-Play free-for-all finally seeing release in South Korea, which has brought a ton of new barricade builders to the cause. Fortnite has amassed some ?five?? million players since February of this year, where the standing total was around 3.4 million riding the battle bus.

Just to clarify, that's concurrent players, not just registered accounts. Mind-blowing. What with the constant content updates, uber-popular streamers such as Ninja, and various references in pop culture and celebrity twitter feeds, it looks like this license will be printing money for a long, long time to come.

Fortnite is available now on PS4, PC?, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices.

Tis the season

It seems as though Xbox's stranglehold on PUBG is soon coming to an end. One year after launching as an Xbox One console exclusive, the original big-time battle royale?? is running toward the big blue wall that is Sony's PlayStati??on 4.

Nothing is officially confirmed yet, but we have a trail of crumbs that are all reliable in their own right. A PSNProfiles user says that Sony's servers have updated with the game's title picture and content ID. Video game analyst Daniel Ahmad commented on ResetEra to confirm he heard it releases in December. Eurogamer corroborated that by saying it has other sources who say the same thing. Finally, a PUBG PS4 ratings listing showed up on the South Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee site ??in September.

This seems to be a matter of when rather than if at this point. But, it still remains to be seen as to how Sony announces it. There could be a bog standard reveal and then release. Or, there could be a grand "And it's available right now, and it's free for December for all PlayStation Plus members!" or something of that nature. Regardless, PS4 players will likely be playing PUBG in the very near future.

Your dinner's getting cold and eaten

Based on a new rating, it's getting to be about time for that long-hinted-at PlayStation 4 port of PUBG. A listing showed up on South Korea's Gam??e Rating and Administratio??n Committee website.

While it might seem like the battle royale game has been around for ages (my sense of time and space is all out of whack nowadays), it's worth remembering the timeline. PUBG launched for Xbox One in December as a Game Preview title and it only just hit 1.??0 for the console a couple of weeks ago.

In some ways, it feels like PUBG has missed its window, but I know people are still out there waiting for this port. I just hope that when it does eventually arrive on PS4, it's up to date with th??e PC version.

Limited to South Korea and Brazil to start

Back when I regularly played Pokémon Go, I wished there was a way to suggest new PokéStops. Most of us did. Soon, Niantic will begin testing exactly such a feature (??albei?t in select regions).

Pokémon Go players in South Korea and Brazil will be able to nomin??ate PokéStops with photographs and descriptions, which will then be "reviewe??d by experienced users in the Ingress Operation Portal Recon (OPR) project." This initial beta test is limited to level 40 Trainers and excludes child accounts.

In the mean time, it's interesting to see what Niantic is looking for in a potential PokéStop.

The company ideally wants locations with "a cool story, a place in history, or educational value; "a cool piece of art or unique architecture"; or "a hidden gem or hyper-local spot." Areas without pedestrian access, priv??ate residential properties, and seasonal or non-permanent suggestions are ineligible.

This is not a drill

For some unknown reason (maybe it has to do with hundreds of millions of players on Fortnite and PUBG), MapleStory 2 will be receiving a "battle royale" mode soon. This was actually announced earlier in the year, but the latest beta will include the "Mushking Royale" mode for all to try. Since MapleStory 2 is actually releasing internationally, you can sign-up for the beta to try out this odd rendition of the massively popular game mode. ?The upcoming beta will run from July 18 to July 31, though mushking will only be active from July 20 to July 22.

Here is a trailer to see how mushking royale works. Everything is in Korean, so I'm not exactly sure on the specifics, but it definitely looks like a battle royale. I'm surprised someone found a way to make it work without guns, which definitely has me more?? excited than the influx of generic shooters adopting Epic Games' and PUBG Cor??p's success.

Nintendo port of Battle Royale title looking legit

Following on from yesterday's rumour that Epic Games' colossal success Fortnite could be coming to the Nintendo Switch, our old friend the Korean Ratings Board uploaded a new listing all but confirming that said port is happening.

Online shooter Fortnite launched to moderate success in 2017 before blowing up into a global phenomenon once it added its Fortnite: Battle Royale mode. Having since gone on to become a pop-culture icon, played by fans and celebrities alike, as well as becoming the latest "GAMEZ ARE EV1L" scapegoat, Fortnite's brand of multiplayer mayhem has taken the ?world by storm.

No further details are currently available, nor is this an official confirmation of a Nintendo Switch port, but the Korean Ratings Board rarely let ??us down and, coupled? with yesterday's leak, this is looking more and more like a sure thing.

Is a possible re-master emerging from the vault?

That bastion of early announcements, the Korean Video Game Ratings Board, have dropped a mystery in our laps. A listing went up yesterday for open-world shooter Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition for PS4 and Xbox One.

However, said game is alre??ady available, having been released in October 2010 (Yes, that long ago). So this has set fans' tongues wagging as to whether the ann?ouncement of some sort of current-gen remaster might be on developer Gearbox Studios' books.

Since its original launch in 2009, the Borderlands series has amassed a devoted following with its cast of weird characters, hazy setti?ngs and unique blending of multiple ge??nres to create a deep, RPG-shooter experience. The franchise has spawned multiple sequels and spin-offs to date and no doubt there would be more than enough treasure hunters out there willing to re-run the fun of the game that started it all.
